looby grace has been feeding all eve too.. has been quite unsettled also. sucking then pulling off etc. she's poo'd for england ireland scotland and wales and had quite a lot of wind too. she eventually took a break and slept on my lap just after torchwood started then woke when i transferred her into her crib. just topping her up again now and fingers crossed that'll be her for a lovely long stretch..

llareggub · 10/07/2009 23:41

Fingers crossed for you Dandy. I am similarly unimpressed generally with local government and I've worked in local government for (gulp) 13 years! I have dreams of escaping one day...

G is still the incredible sleeping baby. It would be wonderful but I have DS1, who gets up with the sun. Why we don't go to bed earlier is a mystery to me.

Momino · 11/07/2009 00:22

pula, amazed at your expressing. i've only just started expressing again and tried at 9am after feeding - only got 10 mls if even that. I've got to figure out how to increase supply.

grumpy, reading the Chris C thread -v funny!

looby, Fi and the rest - hope feeding is over and you're sleeping.

H is stirring but hopefully won't wake. I'm tired so will see you in the morning.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 11/07/2009 09:19

Morning!

Looby - hope you've managed to get some more sleep.

Thanks for those of you that have put your thinking caps on re my name. I asked on my ttc thread as well and someone there suggested EssenceofSes too Dandy! Guess it's the way I said that I wanted it to still - in essence - be Ses!
Think I'll probably go for that and change it later today when I'm not also feeding DS and tryng feeding to eat some toast!

I also watched Torchwood this week. It was all a bit dark and grim really but at the same time I really liked it.

Going to try going on a shopping trip today in Crawley. I've got a Next voucher to spend and towns nearest here don't have one.

Hope you've all had good nights and have good days!

runningmonkey · 11/07/2009 10:39

Morning

dandy good vibes comng your way re school appeal. Sounds like it's being handled by a right bunch of jobsworths. Iif your dd does have to go to the other school can she go on a waiting list in case Someone moves away or goes to another school?

Momino · 11/07/2009 10:47

i like essenceofses... rolls off the tongue.

Harper is very unsettled, I can't figure out what she wants. she slept most of the day yesterday so was up quite early this morning (3am?). She fed for a little then fussed on/off for the rest of the morning. Don't think she wanted feeding so DH took over rocking and I was so tired.

It's now time to feed her and she's taken a little but still fussing/crying at the boob and wriggling. She should be hungry, I don't understand why she's fussing? I'm going to try to express, see how much i can get.

looby, hope you were able to catch more sleep.

hope everyone is having a good day.

Yes meant to say that I like essence of ses too

momi - A does this too. Todays new trick is yanking her head backwards while still latched on... Ouch!

FiKelly · 11/07/2009 11:47

ses my post from earlier didn't post what about sesational

FiKelly · 11/07/2009 11:57

btw hoping my day can't get any worse.. dh is in the mother of all stinking moods for no apparent reason.. dh keeps bursting into tears at the drop of a hat.. grace is feeding a lot but guzzling so i've been vomited on 3times.. did i mention my day started at 5.30am? can i just run away and hide?!

FiKelly · 11/07/2009 11:59

err it's ds whose bursting into tears ;) not dh although i'm close to them too..

Momino · 11/07/2009 13:07

Fi, hope your day gets better. see if you can get a bit of extra sleep .

Happy Saturday all.

fi hope yours improves.

grumpy glad to hear your DH acknowledged what a chump he was.

momi have you tried FCUK for jeans? They do a fab pair of carpenters baggyish ones as well as skinny ones.

Off to my folks this afternoon to see some old family friends who have just flown in from the States. Will be good to see them, but a bit dull for DH I suspect. Still he is getting payback when we have to visit his folks next weekend. For the whole farking weekend. I loathe loathe loathe visiting them. I never feel like I can relax in their house. They never seem to really want to help with the kids. Happy to "play" for about 20 mins but when it comes to bath/story time they aren't seen for dust. Plus they have THE most uncomfortable bed EVER.

Funny story as I reckon they give us this knowing its pretty uncomfortable as punishment for having a shag under their roof. Whilst DH and I weren't married we weren't allowed to share the same room when we went to stay (even though we had been living together for yonks) so on the first visit after our wedding, I insisted on a shag. They were in the next room. There was a very creaky bed. Need I say more??? They heard it as his mother mentionned the creaky bed to DH the following morning. That was payback for being such prissy idiots for the previous 5 years!!!

LoobyLou36 · 11/07/2009 14:57

hello all...

M has had a bottle of formula she just wouldn't feed from me and kept crying and crying so I caved
still I suppose one formula in 5 days isnt too bad

LoobyLou36 · 11/07/2009 15:02

got a friend coming for dinner tonight its his 40th b'day today and none of his family have even bothered to send him a card. I've known him for 15yrs as I used to be engaged to his brother, luckily dh is now great friends with him too. So we're having a joint celebratory meal - DH has gone to pick up his daughter who has got top marks in her SATS.

got an organic beef joint to cook and choc fudge cake for dessert - yum

Momino · 11/07/2009 15:11

looby, don't beat youself, you've been doing great. it'sone step at a time. if M was crying, you know best as you're the mum - don't say you caved, you did the right thing .

ladyhelen, funny story about staying at inlaws . oh, i haven't tried FCUK yet for jeans, good idea.

advice needed: Harper has a stuffy nose, not feeding great (little but often), very fussy and unsettled in general the pst few days. she doesn't have a temp and don't think she's got anything more than a cold. but what concerns me is Harper's fontanelle which is a bit concave (that the right word?) or sunken. should i ring alarm bells for this?

LoobyLou36 · 11/07/2009 15:13

ladyhelen lol at the creaky bed

its the opposite way round when we stay at my in-laws dh is always after a shag but I'm embarrassed in case they can hear us

LoobyLou36 · 11/07/2009 15:14

cheers momino

Momino · 11/07/2009 15:23

looby, no one remembered your friend's 40th but sounds like a really nice evening planned to make up for it .

Monimo might be worth calling NHS Direct re:H's fontanelle

Looby your meal sounds fabby

LadyH LO re: squeaky bed !

I am completely shattered (and broke!) after dragging DS and DD2 around the school fete whilst DH is at DD1's ballet show. Won two bottles of wine though

FiKelly · 11/07/2009 16:34

looby I agree with momino.. it's not caving it's just being a fabby mummy good job your friend has you to make his 40th birthday special.. sounds yummy!!

ladyh if they've still the same bed you could annoy them again or pretend to

i can't remember what's good/not good with the soft head bit sorry momino

my day has marginally improved.. but on the whole i think this is one of those days you're glad when it's over no chance of a nap either as g woke up needing fed just when ds would maybe have slept this am.. and any pm naps affect his bedtime

essenceofSES · 11/07/2009 17:19

Hello!!

I have my new name!!

Looby - just to echo what the others have said really. You are doing what you think is best for M which means you're being a fab mummy

Momino - a concave fontanelle can sometimes be a sign of mild dehydration but don't worry too much as DS gets this sometimes. I think it's only cause for concern if accompanied by other symptoms such as temperature, diarrhoea, vomiting, lack of alertness, etc.

LadyHelen - your bed creaking antics did make me laugh

We are having a very good day here
I managed to get into Crawley to go shopping and DS fell asleep just before we arrived and stayed asleep until 5 minutes before we got home! I managed to stock up on some essentials in Boots and take advantage of the 3for2 on No7 and buy O a couple of outfits, buy a set of white wicker baskets to use in O's room in Cargo, some jeans in Debenhams and have lunch at Costa!! O was such a good little boy!

He saved his exploding poo for when we got home this time so had to give him a bath and change his clothes then but once I'd done that he lay happily kicking away on my bed whilst I unpacked the shopping!!

On top of all that, one nice lady whilst shopping commented that she thought he looked big for 9 weeks. I didn't like to tell her that the last time he was weighed, he was between the 2nd & 9th centiles
That was 10 days ago though so she's given me hope that maybe he's climbing up to be nearer the 9th than the 2nd He's weighed next on Thursday...

Anyway, must get back to making the most of this good day!

Momimo I wonder if the stuffy nose means that H has fed less and is therefore dehydrated? I'm pretty sure that can make the fontanelle sunken. Probably best to give NHS Direct a call though.
