June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

I'm not sure why I'm still up. Dh is in the littlies room tonight trying to deflect bumble from having a nightime feed and I stupidly agreed to him having a lie in for his pains...where's my lie in for being up half the night?

off to order bathroom suites and tiles tomorrow.....cue grumpy fractious children

HellHathNoFury · 19/07/2009 09:17

Interested to read all this stuff about grandparents etc. My Nan is still alive (maternal) but thanks to a family feud she will not talk to DS, and will never meet DS2 when he is born.

In fact, due to estrangement/fueds, DS's will never meet their extended family.

Cousins/aunts/uncles yes, but anything beyond that no. As far as I am concerned they do not exist anyway so no great loss.

This morning DS ate:
1 slice toast
1/3 tin of beans
1 scrambled egg
1 slice bacon
1 sausage

I think he has been taking 'the very hungry caterpillar' a little too literally.

Bumper you don't do things by halves, do you?

Bumperslucious · 19/07/2009 11:15

I'm just single minded Fury, when I want something I will do anything I can to get it (then quickly get bored - hence now I have ovulated probably no sex till next month ).

It's great DS is a good eater, DD eats like a sparrow, I don't know how she survives, but then I was like that as a child (though clearly make up for it now - 2 tubs of Hagan Daaz this week, for medicinal purposes though!)

I must have missed that you were having another boy Fury. Do you have names in mind? It's have to be something good to match DS1's name

Thanks for the tip on OPCs Ria

Daisy, hope you got a good night's sleep.

Natty, hope all is well with you.

Hope Jammy's family picnic has still managed to go ahead despite the weather.

The village hall was hired Bumper, so we just set up in there

Was lovely to see my family but a little sad that there was very little mixing between tables. I tried to get into conversation with some people on table next to us by asking about the 7 month and 11 month old DCs there, but they didn't want to know really. But saw my parents, mum's brothers and one of my aunts, my sister and her children so that was lovely. Although one uncle was a bit weird, I thought. I haven't seen him in years so I went over and said hello, introduced him to Jamlet, then asked after his DDs (he has 4, all grown up). He just said they were fine, but I'd have loved to know more about what they are doing. Then he just stood there silent Families eh?

Oh and we got into trouble for getting food out before everyone had arrived! But it was 12 o'clock and Jamlet was hungry!

what a day...whingy children and bathroom shopping do not a happy combination make.

started off the day by having bumble fall out the bed with an almighty thump as I had nodded off feeding him, but he had stayed awake!

then whinge, fight, thump, shout, screech, whinge, cry, tantrum, screech, fight and thump until we went out after lunch. then whinge, play up, scream and cry all round B&Q and DH and I ended up buying a bunch of tiles in desperation and I have no idea whether it'll look good or a heap of poo.....chocolate brown floor tiles anyone . Good news is we got a cracking deal on a sink/toilet/taps combo and have seen a lovely bathc, pretty cheap elsewhere....so it's all coming together.

bumble still feeding like a newborn and I am wizzened....he fed for half an hour at bedtime, slept for half an hour then had a seven oz bottle of formula (I am soooo sore the amount he is feeding with his wee sharp teeth) as I couldn't face feeding him more, then he wouldn't settle and eventually had another breastfeed before falling asleep.

I can't keep up this level of feeding

TheNatty · 19/07/2009 22:33

aww daisy hope things improve soon. teething do you think? maybe the sucking is helping??
(either that or he will shoot up about a foot next week )

stressful day here, thomas is getting worse and worse, i was horrid shouty mummy today
is it a bit mean that i cant wait to send him to nursery?

fixed the wii today, one of the kids had stuck a primark label into the disk slot. very very in the shop when the guy pulled it out, but at least it wasnt food

TheNatty · 20/07/2009 09:41

bugger. did u guys do me a tesco shop? cos dh sent one away when i was sleeping

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2009 09:42

We did Natty. Jammy organised it, so I assume they have called her about it. I'll see if I can get hold of her!

TheNatty · 20/07/2009 09:48

awww sorry guys!
hope she can sort it!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2009 10:03

these things happen Natty....I can imagine it must have seemed a bit odd, especially if you hadn't done an online shop! I've sent a text to Jammy but she said they hadn't contacted her.....I gave her your mobile number (at least I hope it's still your number...ending 4 7 1 9?). I'm sure it'll all get sorted out.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/07/2009 10:05

OK, must be quick as meant to be at work!

Daisy texted me to alert me to this (thanks ) Tesco never contacted me. I have just rung them and no they cannot redeliver it this morning. They will take it all back to store and give me a refund, and then I will reorder it. Happy to do this, but means you'll have to wait a wee longer Natty. Any time you won't be in? I'll try to get it sorted in my lunchbreak so if you can leave a message here or on FB about when to get it delivered (or when not to) by then that'd be great!

Sorry

TheNatty · 20/07/2009 10:14

thats no problem jammy. sorry about that
DH got confused cos the last tennant was called ur first name and another surname begining with the same letter so he thought the last tennant hadnt changed over their address details or something by mistake. lol!

any day is fine, morning slots better then afternoon, but im not really fussy.
spending alot of this week in because my stitches still hurting too much to go out without taking stupid amounts of painkillers.

joke is this is the first morning since DS2 was born that he actually got up with the kids and left me in bed!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2009 10:20

how's that latch Natty?

TheNatty · 20/07/2009 10:24

getting better, its mostly one side thats having the problem, he doesnt like feeding off that side and wont open his mouth fully. keeps spitting the nipple out and screwing up his face in disgust
not really sure what to make of it, other then that i know the let down and flow isnt half as good as the other side to maybe he is frustrated at the slower flow?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/07/2009 12:23

Glad things are improving Natty

OK, your goodies should be coming between 9 and 11 tomorrow morning

OP posts:
TheNatty · 20/07/2009 12:28

thanks jammy

vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 20/07/2009 12:54

tried to talk to DH this morning about how ba the state of the house makes me feel, but why should I bother when no-one else does. He says he tidies up but the kids follow him round making mess (they do) and it's OK that he just picks stuff up and dumps it in the playpen because he doesn't know where it goes. maybe when he finds his Cat Stevens CD upstairs in pieces cos it was on the floor he'll think again. Trying hard to stay off the PC and at least get downstairs and the laundry sorted for our holiday.

TheNatty · 20/07/2009 13:27

ria i feel exactly the same way, DH didnt change till DS2 was born, and i stopped doing everything. infact other then the washing (which he would shrink/run colours) i am doing no housework at all.
and he has actually started to do it.. its taken 2 weeks and im sure it will stop as soon as i start doing stuff again lmao!

when are you leaving for your holiday?

HellHathNoFury · 20/07/2009 14:07

I am off shortly for a hospital tour.

Bags are packed, baby clothes washed, nappies purchased, now all I need to do is give birth.

I have DS tomorrow. NO idea what to do with him. Local library have a storytime, maybe he'd like that.

TheNatty · 20/07/2009 16:23

oooh fury not long now eh? seems like only yesterday i was moaning about how uncomfortable i was, then going into false labour!!

charlie driving me mad! he is feeding for 5 mins and falling asleep, waking up after 20 mins and demanding to be fed again. over and over..
oh and he explovsive poo'd all over me and the sofa earlier mind u that actually mad both me and dh crack up!

LittleMissNorty · 20/07/2009 19:54

Hello all

My DD is being a nightmare atm.

On getting out of the car yesterday she handed me something..."thank-you darling" I said...it was a huge bogey! Lovely!

Today, I found my son in his seat with a whole sheet of kitchen roll stuffed in his mouth....my heart nearly stopped I tell you. I told her how dangerous it was but she doesn't understand, so there was no point ranting and raving at her. I can't supervise her 24/7 so don't know how to handle it ....it really scared me. DS was fine, I fished it out and he smiled at me!

HellHathNoFury · 20/07/2009 20:14

Nearly ended up in an ambulance tonight

looks like DS has asthma

Need to get him to GP for diagnosis. He had what looked very much like an asthma attack.

I feel guilty that I didn't call 999...should I have? We rung the emergency GP

very very scary

LittleMissNorty · 20/07/2009 20:41

Blimey Fury...hope you and DS are ok . Have you got some ventolin now? I have some here and a mask from DDs younger days. Have you seen a doctor? {{hugs}}

LackaDAISYcal · 20/07/2009 20:44

gosh fury, poor DS . Are you seeing the emergency GP or have you seen them already? and if so, have they given him anything? They are scary things, but touch wood DS1 hasn't had one for nearly two years.
