June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

I dragged mine for a walk before tea and had to discuss Mussolini (sp?)

love ch5's cricket music

how does DH always manage to be out at tea/bed time?

I want a new baby backpack! holly - you carry DS don't you? what do you use? I was thinking of getting one with a frame (I really want the one from the church sale, but I reckon one of the church grannies will have it before Saturday/it'll be too expensive), it is nice to do walks without the pushchair, and I'll be able to walk the boys to the beach if I get a new one (too many stiles to do it with the pushchair)

TheNatty · 09/07/2009 19:20

what a day!

DS1 (oooh that feels weird to type) - had, no word of a lie, 8 tantrums today over minor things.

DD - keeps smacking the baby when i tell her off

DS2 - in a sling as needs a boob in his face else he cries

oh and im on my own tomorrow DH has a hospital appointment.

eek!

LackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2009 19:21

sputnik, I always wait until the buyer has left feedback before leaving them any, for the reasons holly said. DH left a buyer very positive feedback straight away when he was new to the selling game and they then left him some stinking feedback; he was quite upset about it.

Regarding a reminder though, if you have already left them some, then I think it's fair to remind them that they haven't left any for you. I did notice that you had left me feedback before I had received your goods but assumed you had done that because it was me iyswim.

Bumperslucious · 09/07/2009 19:23

I've just got this Holly, happy to review it once we have used it.

Had a mostly lovely day and DD had been so good, but I got really cross with her as I was trying to struggle upstairs to our flat with 3 bags of shopping, a doll, changing bag and the box with the potty in it and DD refused to walk up the stairs . I know she didn't understand, but I got really cross, mean mummy

Rialentless · 09/07/2009 19:25

does he have a name yet Natty? did you decide on William?

Ohforfoxsake · 09/07/2009 19:27

Hello Bumper [smile} am making a Peppa Pig cake. Any top tips?

Good for you Ria, getting to the park.

Natty, I would rug them up with biscuits and TV. Get snuggly on the sofa, and have a good bonding session with your family. If I remember rightly, and if my experience is anything to go by, you are due to keel over with exhaustion, hormones will rage violently and milk coming in in full force right about now. Time to be kind to yourself

TheNatty · 09/07/2009 19:34

oh yes milk coming in, i have frozen cotton wool on them now. nipples cracked as well (knew they would do)

no DH hates william. fucking hell.
to be honest he is annoying me, dosent like my suggestions but wont supply any.
other then noah, and with my surname if you say it out loud it sounds totally wrong!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/07/2009 19:41

And what is wrong with William? It's a good name, give dh a slap! My dp is like that, it does my head in. He poo-poos suggestions I make about things, but then won't add any of his own. Hope you come up with a compromise and hope your boobs aren't too sore .

Thanks bumper, that potty looks cool! Don't worry about getting cross with dd, you are not a mean mummy. I spend my life (it seems) yelling at my two and they still love me (I hope)!

Ria, I hate hate hate framed back carriers, they are a complete pita. They are heavy. cumbersome, expensive and awkward. I carry ds in one of these. Once you've mastered actually getting your child on your back by yourself it is wonderful. I can even carry dd in it.

TheNatty · 09/07/2009 19:47

holly i have a babyhawk
they are excellent arnt they mei tais, i was able to carry ellen in it right up to the last min in pregnancy and cant wait to be able to carry her again once ive recovered

any one recommend a good nipple cream? the one i have is crap (bio fem)

Bumperslucious · 09/07/2009 19:58

Foxy, I weighed the eggs then did the same amount of butter, sugar and flour (actually I reduced the sugar a little), it was yummy. I used 3 eggs, and made a round cake and a small one in a loaf tin to make the nose and ears. And one of these in pink for the outline.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/07/2009 19:58

Lansinoh? It is a great nipple cream and fab lipbalm when you don't need it anymore!

TheNatty · 09/07/2009 20:03

thats the 10 pound one isnt it? purple i seem to remember.
i might end up getting it even tho its expensive, last time my boobs bleed for weeks before the toughened up. that and the fact his latch is crap so im sure thats making it worse.

also he is going a bit jandiced, should i worry? midwife is visiting tomorrow so should i just check with her?

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/07/2009 20:08

Don't go and buy any natty, I'll send you some. I have hundreds of sachets here. I'll pop some in an envelope and go and put them in the postbox now. FB me your address, I don't think I have it.

As for jaundice, please don't let any mw or doctor tell you he needs formula (unless he is becoming poorly). Just make sure you keep feeding him, every two hours if you can, and put his moses basket near a window. Ds had jaundice for weeks. It does tend to linger in bf babies, but it will clear, he just needs lots of fluid and sunlight.

TheNatty · 09/07/2009 20:40

oh holly thats so kind of you hun!

DH now wants to call baby nathaniel, random. mind u baby nate has a ring to it

LackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2009 21:08

natty, i know it seems easier to just let the baby get on with it when your boobs are sore and full and he is hungry, but pleeeeeese take the time to get his latch spot on now, or you may just be storing up problems for yourself. Remeber that he is learning too, and if you let him stay poorly latched, he'll get the idea that that's how it's done....and sorry if I'm being a patronising cow; tell me to feck off if you want to!!

I've got some cooling breast pad things kicking about somewhere (if we haven't thrown them out that is) and half a tube of lansinoh and some breast pads you can have. I'll get them in the post tomorrow for you.

It is soooo hard to get things going when you have another two (and a poorly post op husband) to look after....much sympathy.

Sputnik · 09/07/2009 21:09

I like it!

Rialentless · 09/07/2009 21:13

did he think of that before I suggested it this morning or after

I like it too but with DSS called a variant of it, ti was another no for us (DHs bloody family)

and it does have "Nat" "iel" "th" and "el" in it, so has bits of the whole famile
(Dsis's name - it is a "proper" name too - is the first 2 letters of DFs name, and the first 4 of DMs)

Rialentless · 09/07/2009 21:14

except your DHs name is spelt "ael" isn't it

Sputnik · 09/07/2009 21:20

Your talents are wasted in life Ria, you should be thinking up acronyms for the US government, or something

Rialentless · 09/07/2009 21:24

my talents are just so bizarre sputnik

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/07/2009 21:27

Well I have been jammy by name, jammy by nature this evening I have made 10 jars of strawberry jam and 4 jars plus 2 bowls (I ran out of jars) os raspberry jam

Nathaniel is nice Natty Hope latch and nips improve soon.

Jamlet ate a good dinner too. She had at least half as much as I did (pasta stuffed with tomato and mozzarella, with home made tomato/onion/courgette/olive sauce, topped with parmesan cheese) and wolfed it all down. Then she had a mini milk. She hardly had any lunch mind, and as she's been a bit fussier than usual with her main meals of late, I was harsh and didn't let her have much of a snack mid-afternoon to try to ensure she had a good appetite.

TheNatty · 09/07/2009 21:47

LackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2009 22:06

I like Nathaniel, but with you being Nathalie isn't it a bit similar and will you bet Big Natty/Little Natty?

What about Archie?

TheNatty · 09/07/2009 22:21

no thats what i dont like about it, two N O'Dwyers
i really want william and will nag until he relents!

TheNatty · 10/07/2009 01:16

the worst thing is about the night feeds is that everyone else is in bed!
