June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

holly, I know how you feel, was a bit talking to Dsis earlier and she suggested we need a girls day out on Friday when she's not working (just lunch and shopping), and I have let myself get a bit excited and think maybe just once I'll leave baggins at home... but I know it's unlikely to happen as she'll have something else planned by then.

you have my sympathy too foxy, I have to be very grateful DH only goes away for the odd night or two at a time now, and am dreading him deciding he's going back to agency work full time/getting offered a longer job. I used to hate it when he was away for weeks on end.

sorry for your false alarm natty. and your DH daisy.

entertaining 6 people would be too much for me anytime fury, so hats off to you too.

Lovely idea about the cushion cover Sputnik, I am getting Dsis to make me one out of the cot quilt/bumper set I've had sinec DS1 was a baby

Hi Norty

have I missed anyone?

DH came back this morning (I knew he would), he had a great time pretending to be Gordon Ramsey running the kitchen and having people shout "yes chef" at him, then he packed us up for a walking trip the minute he got back and we've trekked 6.5 miles (mainly up bloody steep hills) around "Aidensfield" in the scorching heat... had too much sun and feel a bit rough.

Ohforfoxsake · 05/07/2009 22:06

Oh Holly. The fuckers. That's beyond shit.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/07/2009 22:06

I have been having nicotine cravings recently as well holly and tempted to buy some cigs on several occasions....and last night I had a dream that DH had got some skunk from a friend of his and we got stoned...it was sooo realistic I could actually taste it!

Ah well, my bad girl past has got to come back and haunt me sometimes

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2009 22:08

Bloody hell ria, walking 6 miles...for fun?! Are you insane? Hope you actually get to go out with your sister.

Good work daisy. I spent so long ironing the stuff for ebay I have given myself chronic backache!

Rialentless · 05/07/2009 22:09

I know daisy does that mean it's 24 hours since my last Mnet session?

Have been thinking about my hair - I saw a poster advertising a local hairdresser wanting long-haired women to have their hair cut off in exchange for a free restyle, to donate the hair to a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair through chemotherapy. Unfortunately I think mine is a inch or so too short as I would willingly do that - I have plenty and it's really thick, and it would make a haircut seem worthwhile (I HATE going to the hairdressers, I haven't been since this time last year)

anyway, must go have a bath before my lovely sanctuary stuff evaporates.

Hotel Babylon on iplayer in a bit, so I might pop back before bed, can't risk losing you again...

Ohforfoxsake · 05/07/2009 22:10

I had one last night

Thanks for the sympathy. Am a bit flat today - probably more to do with staying up too late getting pissed on the garden! Oops!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2009 22:11

I have been having really bad cigarette cravings over the past few weeks. I don't know if it's the weather and feeling like I should be sat in a beer garden with a fag and a pint or if it's stress related? Fortunately dp smokes rollies (boak) so I haven't succumbed! If I had a pack of Marlboro Lights I would smoke them all right here, right now!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2009 22:12

Oooo, that's an idea, maybe I'll sell my hair! It's a really nice colour (even if I do say so myself)!

Foxy, you bad girl! Was it good?

Ohforfoxsake · 05/07/2009 22:18

The first half was. Bit stale probably, same packet since new year! When I was pissed...

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2009 22:20

I hid a 10 pack in the kitchen for any time I felt like a sneaky puff, but dp found them and smoked them! Bastard!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 05/07/2009 22:26

I'm going to remove my make up and go to bed. I feel shattered!

'Night xxx

TheNatty · 05/07/2009 23:42

just posting to say no progress with baby, still random BH.

MIL nightmare today, dh agreed to babysit his bro tonight at ours, she turns up 2 hours late, then decides she is running to late to go to the meal with her friend so expected us to feed her and bro
this was at 8pm!
even tho she knew i was up all night in labour and wanted an early night.

pah!

so now i cant sleep cos ive passed that sleepy point and am beyond tired and wide awake.

joy!

HellHathNoFury · 06/07/2009 08:23

Morning all!

Well I am a parent today! DS is not at nursery as I am on mat leave, wooohooooooo

We are going to a playgroup thing at 9.30. Bring on the cliques!

Holly I am a bad girl for a fag, but since being PG the smell makes me want to vom!

Party/BBQ thing yesterday was good. I must admit I am no stepford wife, I cheated - I bought in the kebabs and burgers and sausages from Costco, I couldn't be arsed to make them all from scratch! I DID however make a calabrese, green salad and a potato salad!

Is it me, but could the kids that sung the Numberjacks theme tune possibly be a LITTLE bit less tone deaf? It hurts my ears

LittleMissNorty · 06/07/2009 08:40

Morning all . Hi Fury....welcome to mat leave . I still have another 4 months before I go back!

Is DS not going to nursery at all now? DD still goes one day a week and its lovely!

That is shit about your "friend" Holly .

Tennis was fab yesterday but over-ran into bath time and me and DH were taking turns to watch it in the bedroom! I so wanted Roddick to win....he was crestfallen wasn't he

We're having a quiet day today....expecting rain as well I think.

Oooh Chris and Pui back today

HellHathNoFury · 06/07/2009 08:52

Oh god Holly yes I saw that about your friend, I forgot to say, that is FUCKING EVIL
Friend my arse
GRRRR

You must have been so upset!

Norty are you having the full year of mat leave? I think I'll be going back March time... or sooner.

DS still goes to nursery 3 days a week - I am still having A LOT of physio for SPD and am in a lot of pain, so I have DS 2 days a week.
If, however, I am having a good week and fancy having him at home I'll just keep him here that day.

LittleMissNorty · 06/07/2009 08:57

Think it does them good for a bit of continuity anyway Fury....as well as some time for you. DD loves going.

I'm having 9 months with 5 weeks of annual leave tagged onto either end, so 11 months in all. And I've done my 10 KIT days from home so put those 70 hours onto my time sheets for the 3 months where I get SMP only to help! Am covering some leave in a few weeks so will be going in for a couple of days which will be a bit odd!

HellHathNoFury · 06/07/2009 09:04

Blimey Norty it's all so complicated.

I have only used a couple of days annual leave but if I take more than 26 weeks mat leave I only get 2.5 weeks anyway. When I know when I go back to work I'll decide what to do with it.

DS is firmly ensconced in front of the idiot box this morning. I feel like a bad parent already

LittleMissNorty · 06/07/2009 10:02

you should accrue AL as normal Fury. They can't take it off you cos you take more mat leave.

HellHathNoFury · 06/07/2009 11:51

Alas, they do, tis the rules - 5 weeks AL if you take less than 6 months, 2.5 if you take more. I can check but I'm pretty sure that's how it worked.

Well I went to playgroup, it was ok... free tea, coffee, biscuits, DS seemed to enjoy himself.
The mums were a bit cliquey but I expected that. TBH a lot of them probably do this sort of thing all the time and like to have the hour in their own world rather than make friends! I was happy on my iphone eating fig rolls

Ohforfoxsake · 06/07/2009 12:02

well I was very pleased with the shopping advice you gave me while you were there Fury. Your expertise was appreciated

HellHathNoFury · 06/07/2009 12:16

Aw Foxy...Don't thank me.... thank Anne

Apart from being crippled by evil SPD today, I could get used to looking after DS. He's been quite good, it's been nice to have some time with him, and there is always cbeebies when I don't

LackaDAISYcal · 06/07/2009 12:19

I got all my AL entitlement and tacked it onto the end of my ML with DD. I'm hoping to do the same this time around, excpet use it as my notice period.

I'm pretty sure it's a contractual right that continues through AML

TheNatty · 06/07/2009 12:27

u def not returning to work then daisy?

had docs this morning to TRY an get some investigative work booked to find out why i am anemic and have been for 4 years (maybe longer never had it checked b4 getting pregnant)

Rialentless · 06/07/2009 12:35

Rialentless · 06/07/2009 12:35
