AutumnLady · 10/06/2009 10:32

that's stomach obviously!

coolkat · 10/06/2009 10:43

Hi ladies

Obs thanks for your kind words. X ps did you go to Es Cana? Where did you stay?

Phee wow crawling, Becca gets about by rolling and crawling backwards, but like bumble she has not twigged she could get to where she wants!

Had a better night last night up at 5!

Been doc's, saw nurse then had to see doc as vision impaired, Got an infection begining with E ending in itis! Not hopeful for the weekend everyine should be looking at Becca and DD1 anyway!

Re Christening, we are not regular church goers and there was a moment where we felt a bit hypocritical but we had a pre-christening meeting on monday and we both really enjoyed it and refreshed the reasons why we want to get her Christened.

Love to all. X

Am at the fact that a 2 yr old has to be carried in a sling ... Oh well Iwill be in for funny looks this summer then its the babyborjn for dd2 when a buggy is no good then !!
As for bf - I just highlight what I think everybody has says - you must do what is right for YOU and your baby and not anybody else. If you want to carry on bf - do it if it ends it ends. It should be your chioce whatever friends / family says !
I want to carry on but I am noticing that she feeds in about 5 mins flat each breast and along with solids I wonder how long she will go on. When dh did a formula feed when I was out she diddn't take as much as it said she should on the packet for her age..so maybe she is ok.
As for sleeping better being on solids no other way to say it but BLLCKs - as far as I am concerned makes no difference at all and she is eating well !!!!

sparkletoes · 10/06/2009 14:46

(tiptoes into thread...)

Hello ladies, know I have a cheek but can I try one more time to re-join you all??

I have tried in past but disorganisation, lack of sleep, demand from kids, lack of sleep all seem to get in the way!

I am so sorry to have missed so much chat tho, every time I read up I relate to so much of what is said and makes me think I should find the time to read up and post again!

Well I am hoping that time is now here......??!

Totally with you all on the distracted feeders, temperamental toddlers, solids and sleep!!

Didn't I say that knew this baby would not be as easy as the first was! Good job he is soo cute

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 16:28

Hey Rosa why ? Lots of 2 year olds have naps and rests when out for the day, and a back or hip carry in the sling fits the bill really well.

Hi Phee- and wow at the crawling!

Sorry to hear about your eye, coolkat- hope it clears up quickly.

Hi Sparkle!

Got absolutely drenched today on the way back from the GP. SO for thise waiting for thigns- no trip to the p.o. today, I'm afraid- tomorrow morning I promise!

love to allx

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 19:40

I was going to say that the meadowhall play place is fine for me to meet up at, if anyone else wants to- now I know I just get the tram from the station tothe play place- going back was really easy.

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 20:16

meadowhall good for me as well Pinky

Ceebee74 · 10/06/2009 20:26

Hi and welcome back to Phee and Sparkle Phee wow on the crawling - that is very early and a bit scary when you think how fast they are all growing up.

Sparkle I see the lack of sleep is not affecting your Scrabble ability I will play my turn asap I promise!! Good to have you back

Autumn am loving the idea of milk and horlicks - is J an old man in disguise

Have decided that Sam is definitely a BLW baby - I don't why I bother trying to spoonfeed him as he is not that bothered (unless it is sweet stuff ) but put some food in front of him and he is as happy as larry. Today he spent half an hour chasing pieces of melon and pineapple round his tray and sucking them into submission - and he LOVED it

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 20:29

good to see you here, and no need to ask if you are welcome back......it's as if you never left

coolkat, I hope your eye is feeling better; you'll just need to wear sunglasses in a Sleb stylee,or you go for one to match your outfit a la Agyness Deyn

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 20:38

oh cool Daisy

Ceebee, Mimi loves sucking her food into submission, too. She likes being fed lumpy stuff, too. She Really Likes Food. She likes roated vegetables, breadssticks, fruit etc. etc. It's funny watching them trying to eat melon- like holding a bar of soap!

You can tell mimi is our third- she had her first malted milk biscuit today- no way I would've let my other two have sweet biscuits this early!

Ceebee74 · 10/06/2009 20:47

Pinky that is exactly what it was like - chasing a bar of soap round his tray He was very determined to get it though! And yes, I am the same with Sam - he is having some gingerbread biscuit pretty much most nights at the moment as I bought some for DS1 the other day and I feel mean seeing Sam watching DS1 eat it and then turn his puppy dog eyes on me . I am sure I waited until DS1 was at least 9 months before I let him go anywhere near chocolate/sweet stuff

Oh yes Meadowhall is fine with me of course

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 20:58

lol pinky, bumble has had mini ice cream cones and he shared some with me in the park today. He has also had chocolate buttons this week. DS1 got lots of white chocolate buttons for his first Christmas when he was seven months old (from relatives, not santa!) and had his first taste of it at Easter!

third children definately get anything and everything thrown at them.

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 21:06

Mimi has had a frube, which is quite sugary I think, and combined with the coldness, the expression on her face was priceless.

coolkat · 10/06/2009 21:06

I wonder whether Fat Face would whip me up a patch!

On a serious note it hurts and I look awful!

Becca does not seem into food all that much at the minute. I need to do some batch cooking next week.

ellielou02 · 10/06/2009 21:08

Hi all,

Have not been on much lately been decorating and building furniture for what will be our new bedroom, also DH on a course this week and I sold my car a few months ago so been carless so been walking and busing it (DD1 very tired after all out walking today) think she was sleeping after 5 mins of going to bed .

Hello phee also wow at the crawling, Millie wont even sit up yet lol. She's rolling and getting annoyed that she cant get anywhere.

Hello sparkles think I saw you on here when I was lurking and unsure whether to join

Daisy we are not getting DC christened either, DH isnt christened but I am but never go to church, I have thought about taking DD1 to church as she has alot of questions about god and jesus but have never got round to it yet.Oh sorry keep meaning to FB uou back its been mad here this last week

pinky I thought that Millie would be too big for a sling now but after reading your comments about your 2 year old ~I will think again, the sling I got is very uncomfy to wear and she is a bit of a pudger, but I had to use the sling yesterday as DH forgot to leave the pram and it wasnt too bad. So I see what you mean about napping in a buggy and using a sling.

coolkat hope your eye gets better soon.

millie is enjoying lots of finger foods now too she had great fun with an orange and a chip yesterday.

Oh has anyone seen the new limited edition itti prints they look lush.

ellielou02 · 10/06/2009 21:10

think I X posted with everyone there!

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 21:12

lol at the eye patch!

Have you been Fat Face shopping? I bought a few things online last week and they are fab.

Maybe you need some of those oversized sunglases.

Sound very painful, though. Have you been given anything to clear it up?

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 21:15

ellie you really need a good mai tai or a woven wrap.

Where have you got the print itti bittis from? Link please The place I buy them from is getting them this week sometime but they are not in yet

coolkat · 10/06/2009 21:16

Yes I got my christening outfit its the Agave Orchid skirt, Reds and purples. Just ordered the matching cardi! Fits brillianlty and the vest tops were so soft and long in the body. Skint now though

Got antibiotic eye drops and cream to blast it. She said be optimistic about sunday so its not looking good!

Right must go to bed, eyes killing and very very tired. Night X

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 21:22

ooh lovely outfit, coolkat!

Hope you feel a bit better tomorrow.x

ellielou02 · 10/06/2009 21:48

pinky (whispers) nappyzone

LackaDAISYcal · 10/06/2009 22:03

DH and I have just been looking at our finances . I'm now having a huuuuuge panic attack at the thought that we should have enough to live on comfortably without me contributing, but we seem to hemmorhaging (sp?) money on a weekly basis.

AFingerofFudge · 10/06/2009 22:07

oooh lacks pmsl at that thread link. In fact, DH was laughing even more than me

coolkat hope your eye gets better fast. V envious of your fat face splurge -it's my fave shop!!

phee v. impressed on the crawling front. M is such a slow coach he's not even vaguely sitting up yet, he hasn't rolled yet, in fact, he's only just beginning to hold things and put them in his mouth

Have had a fantastic day here. Dh had the day off, DS1&2 missed school today and we all went to Legoland. It was brilliant. It only rained a little bit this morning, after that it was dry, there was hardly anyone there so we didn't have to queue for anything, and we got to stay on rides over and over again. M was a star and just lounged around in his pram without complaint. M4 was trouble free so had quick and easy journeys there and back. A very successful day!!

Hi to everyone else. And if you need a laugh, read that thread that lacks posted a link to

PinkyMinxy · 10/06/2009 22:09

Daisy it took me a fair while for the drop in our income to sink in properly. We had always been so comfortably off when I worked too.

I still have phases of spending too much- especcially whne I am feeling low, but with careful budgetting we do quite well, really.

AutumnLady · 10/06/2009 22:18

evening all
ceebee - pmsl at your description of J as an old man with his horlicks as that's what I think too makes me chuckle every night and he pretty much downs it in one!

Having said that, he is proper poorly with a cough and a temperature. Mum was worried this afternoon and when I got home I checked his temp and it was 39 deg . Got some calpol into him and gave him a bath and it has come down again but have an appointment with the dr tmrw morning. Poor boy, but he is still playing around and generally being a happy chappy bless him.

Just had to run up the stairs as he just cried out loudly! Made me jump and thought 'what the hell's the matter' - turns out he had lost his dummy and blanket and when replaced, he rolled over and went back to sleep!

coolkat - hope the eye is better soon
Lacks - loved the link earlier, made me laugh out loud in the office
