cricri · 02/07/2009 06:37

The night wasn't as bad as I feared - she "only" woke twice and is still asleep now
Daisy Hope yours stayed asleep for you and give you a lie-in as well.
Good to hear Rutho is well, I miss her hilarious posts. I was thinking of Merry the other day and also we haven't heard from Hana in a while. Hope they're all OK.
Spoke too soon - E is awake and ready to start the day!

chocolategal · 02/07/2009 08:09

Morning ladies

Seems a lot of the babies struggling in this heat, we took a long time settling think it was after 10 when he went into proper sleep but then slept until usual waking time of 5.30. Feel a bit better for no overnight waking.

Hanaflower & merrymarrigold are around on fb.

Hope you're not too tired after your late night pinky.

Hi to everyone

tegan · 02/07/2009 08:24

Morning ladies

Sorry for not being about yesterday but things seem to have gone mental here.

I had loads of committee stuff to do at the playgroup sports day then i looked after my friends 2yr old for the afternoon.

Well the news is i am NOT pg. Came on yesterday (thank god).

Going this morning to take dh's sample to be checked for little swimmers.

sparkletoes · 02/07/2009 08:26

Glad u got E settled Cricri. Tiny was up at 10pm, did a massive burp when I picked him up then fell back to sleep.. yay! Up at 6am which is not bad at all (but DS1 was up at 3am for toilet trip - sigh was having great sleep as well!!).

I also tried the cold water tip last night and put a large bowl of iced water in his room as it was 24degrees. I checked it again immediately (not expecting it to have changed) and it had gone up to 25degrees!! Guess it didn't work then!! Was still 25 degrees this am.

We are forecasted to get thunder this pm here, think that will be only thing that will really clear the air...!

Hope everyone has good day, glad Rutho is ok.

Ceebee74 · 02/07/2009 08:30

Can't stop as I have to go to a meeting at work this morning so need a shower asap.

I tried the iced water trick last night - the Hamster's room was 29 degrees, put the water in....and it stayed at 29 degrees

LadyBuzz · 02/07/2009 09:36

Yes I tried the water trick last night too and it did not make a jot of a difference

Ceebee I m off today to get J some of those rompers I forgot how cute they were

J doesn't seem to be bothered by the heat too much, he has got a lovely tan too - despite never being allowed direct contact with the sun and spending his life smothered in factor 50 not sure how that has come about but it is very cute.

Glad Rutho is OK.

Noodles are fine with me next week! J can have a good go at a noodle!

Sparkle it thundered here last night and made no difference! its just so hot!

taking the boys to the park today for a picnic with some friends, DS1 is so excited!

Daisy hope things have calmed down in your house today!

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 09:43

no joy with the cold water trick here either!

I think DD and bumble have got hand foot and mouth . DD has been a bit off with a temp and not eating and I thought it was the heat. I noticed some blisters on her toes yesterday but thought it was her doodles rubbing as she has been sockless, but there are more this morning and some on her hands and one on her tongue. bumble has been up all night, temperature and not feeding and seems to be following the same pattern as DD. We've had a horrible night, he has been whining and crying and letting out a horrible plaintive whine and just refusing to feed...or sleep. I think I had about three very broken hours. It's a very happy house here this morning....not!!

LadyBuzz · 02/07/2009 09:45

Oh Daisy how awful, that can't be nice. There is alot of it going round at the moment up here.
Can they have anything for it?

Oblomov · 02/07/2009 11:29

Ceebee, short romper suits are one of my alltime fave items of clothing too. I had ds1 in loads and am now using them for ds2 aswell. I love them so much. They are so incredibly sweet. I have some up to aged 2 aswell, so well sorted for next summer aswell - can't wait.

Oblomov · 02/07/2009 11:33

Sorry missed Tegans post. Am glad/sorry for you Tegan. Hope you are o.k. about it.
And Daisy , poor dd and bumble, witht he f&m. Are you o.k. ? - what do you do for f&m, then ?

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 12:25

oops tegan, missed your post as well

i'm glad you got the outcome you wanted!!

I have just been back in bed for an hours nap and can't see out of my one fully functioning weye! You know when you are sooo tired everything is just a blur. Driving me nuts!

DC seem in a better mood as well after a decent nap.

Pinkglow · 02/07/2009 12:42

I love romper suits, they just look really cute but great for this weather too. Although Henrys spending most of his time indoors with just a nappy on.

sorry to hear that LackaDAISY, hope they get better soon

ellielou02 · 02/07/2009 13:17

I* have npow typed 2 posts and lost them both so third time lucky.
tegan glad you got your period
daisy boo to HFM I got it as soon as I got married and I think my nephew has it just now, hope you get more sleep tonight.
Pinky am of your night out hope you are not too tired today.
Glad rutho is ok.
We are just back from the docs again DD1 now has 2 anti histamines, eye drops, nasal spray and bream all for her hayfever, poor girl has been suffering. I also bought that magicool stuff, its quite good for cooling them down.
Oh and I have has a sore leg the past few days, turns out its sciatica, sods law when I am going back to work in a month.
If anyone wants a laugh I had a meeting at work yesterday so thought I would wear black trousers and a short sleeved blouse, so I put on my good trousers that I bought after I had Millie and they were too big so I thought I would try pre perg trousers on and they fitted but the zipper was a bit dodgy but I got it up, but it would not budge so I could get it down (think the teeth went out of sync) so was stuck in the bloody trousers till I came home had to watch and not drink too much and thought I would have to cut them to get them off, but managed with great difficulty and some pain to shimmy them down.

ellielou02 · 02/07/2009 13:19

ladybuzz millie has quite a tan too and she like J always has sun cream on and a shade, must just be her skin

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 13:23

bumble is similarly sunkissed; i think it's just the type of skin he has......obviously he hasn't inherited my "so white I'm blue" scottish complexion.

Obs, hfm is viral so nothing to be done except calpol and grin and bear it!

we are all a bit better for a decent bit of kip though.

coolkat · 02/07/2009 13:25

Hi Ladies

Glad you happy with result tegan. X

We are having a hard tme settling at night to and I am sure its the heat. I just left her in a nappy last night, she woke at 3 fed and then back to sleep til 7.30 which was a nightmare as I did not set thte alarm clock as she always wakes at about 6.30 latest!

Had Becca weighed yesterday and she was 17lb 3oz so growing nicely!

Talked to HV about lumpy foods not being liked but that she loves fnger foods and she said that's fine just keep offering finger foods and progress that way rather than not pureeing as much

Boiling here need to do ironing but its toooo hot to do it!

Ceebee74 · 02/07/2009 15:14

Daisy for your 2. Ds1 had it when I was pg with the Hamster - he was off colour for a couple of days and had a really sore mouth (couldn't even suck his beloved dummy at bedtime ) but soon recovered.

Tegan glad your AF arrived although I am sure there is a tiny tiny part of you that is a tad disappointed?

Have just started a thread in employment as I think I upset a colleague big time in the meeting today - I used the 'childcare' card in order to work in the local area rather than being moved to an area further away - is that wrong?? I didn't demand it btw, just said I would feel more comfortable being more local to nursery and my manager agreed to change round. I just know my colleague will be moaning to everyone about unfair it is just because I have children and I do feel quite bad about it tbh.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 15:42

anyone seen this?

still some tickets left apparently....get your email in ASAP

coolkat · 02/07/2009 18:04

Some of you were on about buggies the other day, we got a baby jogger city mini a couple of weeks ago but they are on offer at Kiddicare now £129.99 . . .

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 18:16

oooh, coolkat; I sooooooo want the single version as it would be streets ahead of the wee chicco one and I love the hood on it, but.....DH says NO! I'm tempted to order one and tell him I'm testing it; he'd be none the wiser really

coolkat · 02/07/2009 19:36

It is very good Daisy! Pee'd off I paid £160 2 weeks ago

chocolategal · 02/07/2009 19:52

I think the baby jogger is always £139.99 in Argos? The red and black one.

ellielou02 · 02/07/2009 20:09

Is the baby jogger that good? Is it worth selling my buzz to get one? Am so tempted.

LackaDAISYcal · 02/07/2009 20:17

I reallly love the double version so I imagine that the single version will be streets better as doubles never usually stack up as well as the single.

Is the single nice and compact when folded?

PinkyMinxy · 02/07/2009 21:34

Hello

Had a fab time last night, but DD1 was in my bed after I had an hours kip, because Pinky (the original) was thirsty SHe (pinky, the original) then got hiccups.SO at about 3 in the moring I was burping a crochet monkey
I think it was the heat. DD1 went to bed to sleep for the rest of the night, and DH gave me a lie-in this morning.

Daisy HFM- hope it doesn't linger.

Tegan glad you are happy with your 'result'.

Rompers- was going to say, yes I love them. For little girls you can get them with little spaghetti straps- v.cute- Mothercare do very nice ones IIRC.

DS's sports day today- very cute. HE was covered in stickers and even managed to run in the right direction for the race at the end, though he stopped to chat to one of the teachers at the start and would have come last if one of the girls hadn't fallen over! I fear he may have inherited my atheticicsm rather than DH's![ggrin] but he had a fabby time and wathcing their little legs go is soo cute.

Mimi is hot tomight. SHe is wearing just a nappy and a cotton sheet.
