Hope this works! I'm a techno-idiot!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

ChocO, M had a hernia. You are right, all medical people seem to dismiss it as unimportant. Hv, GP, and Paed doctor we saw, all said 'not to worry' and it did indeed go away.

LadyBuzz · 01/07/2009 08:20

Choc hope it rights itself.

Pinky i'm defintely coming - really looking forward to it!

Hi Pinkglow good to see you glad the move went well.

its too hot and humid here, no sun just heat, J has been in a vest for days now, he sleeps in just a vest - can't leave him in only a nappy as he takes them off
His room is so hot we have a fan on constantly!

Ceebee74 · 01/07/2009 09:11

Morning all

Tegan at your willpower - I would need to know immediately

Pinky no Wagamamas (or not on the website either and don't remember seeing it). I think we may need to ring ahead - just so they can get all the high chairs ready - so if me, you, Daisy and Buzz are coming (Anyone else??), that would be 6 highchairs yes? Ladies - any thoughts on where we would like to eat? Italian, American Diner-style, Nandos, spanish...any thoughts?

Also, are we going to go to the play area for a bit - I am sure the babies would enjoy it this time round aswell (Pinky - is there a baby area?)

Gosh it is so hot today - I was so embarrassed when I dropped DS1 off at nursery as I was sweating like a pig after walking there with the Hamster strapped to me and I was that bad, the member of staff actually offered me some tissues

The Hamster was fine yesterday at nursery. Didn't cry once although it was only an hour. Next Tuesday he is going for 3 hours (including lunch!)

The Hamster is spending all day in short romper suits (they are so cute!) and then I just change it to another short romper suit for bedtime Although he does like his grobag so I may just put him in a vest in his grobag tonight if it doesn't cool down.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 10:12

I think Yorky might join us next week, so that's another highchair needed there.

I'm definately coming. I can bring my portable booster seat for DD so one less highchair needed for me

I have two miserable poorly children this morning, and I'm tired as have been up half the night with my wee man.

I've also just had an odd psychic moment with DD. She was in the kitchen and let out a yell. My mouth flooded with saliva and tasted like blood and when I went through she had dug a coke tin out of the recycling bin and had cut the inside of her lip on it; blood everywhere! Very weird indeed!!

sparkletoes · 01/07/2009 12:32

Hi all!

Wow Tegan you are being very calm about this! Hope all is ok when you do a test...

Hope M is ok with the hernia too ChocO I did smile at your indian blood comment!

I also use disposables at night (or 'cheating' as DH cousin calls it !!!)

Have to take you up on this fat face nonsence tho Pinky!! I remember seeing the picture of you post birth with Mimi and being soooo !! You are such a beautiful woman!! If I looked half as good as that after giving birth I would be very happy!! Let alone any other time. Would like to see what the hairdresser looked like tbh.

Apologies Ceebee I did mean to ask how hamster got on at nursery . I am so disorganised it is not true. Glad all went well tho, it makes a big difference if you know they settled. I am actually a bit sad that Tinytoes will not go to nursery (unless I get a new job of course). I honestly think it has been so good for DS1. I do wonder if they will even do as well at home with me

I got a shiver reading about your psychic moment there Daisy!!

Waves to all...

Pinkglow · 01/07/2009 14:57

air conditioning broke at work - what bad luck is that!!

ChocO - hes just taking it easy in the heat, I know I wouldnt be rolling around in this

Henrys latest thing is blowing rasperees while theres food in his mouth so who evers feeding him gets covered.

Glad hamster got on ok at nursery, I think its quite a good age for them to start. My friend tried to get her 18 month old to go but she wasnt having any of it so shes taken her out and will try again in 6 months.

at ladybuzz and your little one taking their nappy off.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 15:30

I'm glad the hamster got on well yesterday ceebee

I need to get some short rompers but am not buying anything else until the sales start...any ideas when the Next sale is on?

bumble slept in a vest last night, but he also likes his sleeping bag so maybe we'll do that and just a nappy tonight.

He is so miserable today. DH said that he heard something on the radio about putting a bowl of iced water in bedrooms in this weather which reduces the air temp as it evaporates. I'm going to try it tonight as our thermometer is reading 34 degrees in the garden

I didn't get my mole removed . When the GP looked at it, he ummed and ahhed and said it looks like it might be another rodent ulcer and as that's a type of skin cancer they can't take them off so I need to be referred. Apparently this has only come in in the last month so the GP who booked me in for the minor op back in April wouldn't have known about it. Ah well, looks like I'll be getting my money's worth from DH's work medical insurance.

Ceebee74 · 01/07/2009 15:59

Just a quickie as watching the tennis (of course!) Oh to have a laptop

Daisy Next sale will be in the next couple of weeks I think - it is usually mid-July (not that I am a regular or anything ) I am trying to decide whether to try and get a couple of work suits in it in a size 14 (which is the size I am hoping to be when I go back to work ) as it will cost me a fortune to buy a whole new work wardrobe in September - Dh obviously has no confidence in my weight loss abilities as he thinks it might be too risky Sorry about the mole - how annoying for you

Pinkglow crap about the air-conditioning - they always break on the hottest days don't they? Prolly something to do with them having to work harder those days.

Might try the Hamster in just his nappy tonight. Am having great difficulty in persuading DS1 to just wear his pj shorts in bed atm as he is obsessed with being 'properly' dressed - so am more concerned about him overheating as he is also obsessed with having his duvet on him!!

Right - back to tennis

LadyBuzz · 01/07/2009 16:34

ceebee DS1 is the same he always asks for his covers in and insists on having his full jamas on. had a full blown tantrum last night cause he was just in his pants and vest as none of his short jamas were clean. Must be the age.

I love those short romper suits, I have ummed and ahhed about whether Jay is too big for them but they are so cute and he has been in a vest for days now. Might just bite the bullet and buy some. They are so cute.

Daisy sorry they couldn't do your mole, they need a specialist to make sure all the its are out when they do remove it, my Dad had one taken off a couple of years ago.

pinky you do not have a fat face, you are stunning!

Pinkglow J oes the raspberry thing too so annoying.

LadyBuzz · 01/07/2009 16:35

oh my god it is thundering. I hate thunder. I'm off to hide under the bed.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 16:51

ceebee, DD insists on her blankie (a knitted pram blanket that my mum knitted for DS1), one of Pinky's blankets and a duvet at the minute, and then we need to have her in a bodysuit and leggings as she scratches her eczema otherwise! she must be melting.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 16:53

and bumble is blowing rapsberries and firing his dummy across the floor, then grabbing it and doing it all again

Ceebee74 · 01/07/2009 16:55

Buzz do go and get some short romper suits, they really do look so so cute and they are so not too old for them Ds1 had some when he was newborn and by the next summer when he was nearly 1, I decided he was too old so am making the most of putting the Hamster in them - I think they might be my fave item of child's clothing

Lol at DS1 not being the only one who insists on being covered from head to foot in these temps - sometimes DS1's hair is literally dripping with sweat when I go and check on him Might try the iced water trick tonight.

Wonder if the thunder is heading south

Ceebee74 · 01/07/2009 16:59

How very accommodating of Andy Murray to finish the game just in time for me to go and pick DS1 up from nursery

sparkletoes · 01/07/2009 17:35

YES!!! so pleased he won go Andy!

Pinkglow I know exactly how the no air conditioning thing feels - my office didn't have any! Was a nightmare in summer.

Tiny also does the blowing raspberries thing mid meals!

I am a NEXT addict, just ordered a dress for my cousin's wedding (bet it ends up in the sale tho!).

I also got a footless romper from Tk Maxx (is that the kind of thing you are referring to Ceebs?). Tiny looks very cute in it and it has the caption "Granny Magnet" on the front! Thought DH mum would appreciate! - my mum just vaguely smiled (as expected) sigh..

Phew it is soooo hot!!!

PinkyMinxy · 01/07/2009 18:00

LOl Ceebee I have managed to negotiate with DS to wear a vest and a pair of boxers as jamas. He was insisting on wearing his brushed cotton car pjs the other night! He's is sleeping under his cot coverlet! bless.

Mimi slept really well last night. I didn't feed her at 4 when she woke up as she was just playing and she went back to sleep until 7:30. She was just in her nightie with a sheet, but she threw that off and had her nightie pulled above her chubby little knees. SHe looked veyr chilled!

Trafford Centre
I think it was Tampopo I saw when I last went. I really fancy noodles. But really I don't mind what we have.
play centre has a little bit with toys in and two small ball pools.mimi quite likes it, but then she's been round the whole thing in the sling!

Sparkle/LB you are too kind, but I really am chubby! Hairdresser was an emo beanpole. I think he was having a bad day. It was one of the two occaisions I have left hairdressers in tears! Was quite a while ago.

dAISY That psychic thing was spooky.

little rompers- I think they are fab and put them in toddlers, so I think he would look fab in them, LB

Mimi has been wearing little smock tops and a nappy. SHe looksveyr cute!

Right off to reception clas open evening. Can't believe my litttle boy is so grown up already!

Ceebee74 · 01/07/2009 19:51

Sparks these are what I mean - they are footless babygros but really really short ones.

Ok one vote for noodles next week - I'm happy with that

pinky you are definitely not chubby I would say you are definitely no bigger than me and I have had to shift 35lbs to get here

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 20:41

bloody children. they are all still awake. probably a combination of heat, teething and the fact that dad is away overnight. I have threatened DD with a smacked bottom I am that wound up by the three of them. bumble has been crying since 7 o'clock and inspite of three BFs and calpol just does not want to settle. I have had to bring him downstairs as DD was keeping him awake.

why does this always happen when i'm on my own

the kitchen is a mess from tea and there are toys strewn everywhere.

I have now have two of them downstairs with me.

bloody sick of this.

sparkletoes · 01/07/2009 20:42

Oh you are right they are adorable!!

LOL at the summer pjama thing, DS1 still insists on full pjs AND socks!!??!! I have tried to explain to him that socks are a winter thing only but nonono he not interested, it is socks on every night. I know kids are supposed to become insistent on their 'routines' but fgs it is roasting!!

Very well done Ceebs on your lb shifting success!! Has spurred me on to keep working out!!

sparkletoes · 01/07/2009 20:52

Daisy I do know how you feel tho, we had a major tantrum fit over dinner.. cue me losing it.. both of them ending up crying as DS1 set off DS2.

Feels never ending and am on my own too. But have decided the kitchen can wait I need a seat and a cold drink. I also had to bring the baby back down with me yesterday eve as he wouldn't settle. Am just resigned to it now, he is still a young baby and my life is essentially on hold a bit when he is unsettled. Fecking exhausting tho. Def was soo much easier with one DC.

Phew..

cricri · 01/07/2009 22:23

Daisy Must be the night for it - I spent a good 45 minutes re-settling E an hour ago even though she went off very easily at 6.30. I also think it's the heat and teething in her case. Hope they both settle soon for you. Make mine a glass of Prosecco please Sparkle
I do admire those of you with more than one DC - one is enough for me atm!
Oh dear, E is stirring again - could be another long night Hope everybody else has a better night.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 22:34

finally got all the DC in bed and asleep by 10pm

I hope it's just the weather and not the shape of things to come.

I have filled the bath with cold water; opened the bathroom window and all the bedroom doors and have the fan on blowing the (hopefully) water cooled air into the bedrooms. We'll see.

My bra had a tide mark on it when I took it off this evening

DH called at 9.15. He had just checked into his hotel in Amsterdam and was off out for dinner

LackaDAISYcal · 01/07/2009 22:52

meant to add I had a wee text from rutho today from sunny St ives with a photo of a cafe with bumble's (and her F's) name above the door!! I've told her we were all asking aftger her and about the trafford centre next week as I'm sure she is back by then.

where is merrymarigold these days? I get confused with everyone on FB and here....because I play scrabble or get comments on FB, I forget that they aren't posting here!

PinkyMinxy · 02/07/2009 00:21

Heloo
me up late again. I'm a bit squiffy.

Daisy I had this last week.My older two were up til around 9:30. THis week they are both going to sleep for 7:50- big improvement. Friend havong same issue with her two, so I can only think it's the weather or something, but very frustrating.

cricri et al, hope you are having good sleeps.x

PinkyMinxy · 02/07/2009 00:24

oops must clarify, we have been out for a friend's birthday- I'm not just sat up on my own!
