vbab glad you talked with DH. Have a fab holiday.

Rosa you too enjoy your hols, the humidity sounds awful.

Coolkat we have the same problem, J is sleeping in only a vest as his room is 29 degrees. We have tried everything to cool it down!
Hope your eye improves soon.

obs caravan sounds lovely, nice to have somewhere to get away to.

pinky one wall at a time sounds like my kind of painting .

ceebee lol at the milkshake - hope today goes well.

Tegan you should maybe test to put your mind at rest!

I am so so glad we are getting our new car on Sat, yesterday we got a nail in the brand new tyre and someone has scraped right down the pasenger side I'd be really annoyed if it wasn't going! people have no consideration.

Sorry If I have missed anyone

Hi ladies. Will try to catch up yesterdays and tonights posts later. Just wanted to say with have TEETH!!! Yesterday Alyssa smiled at me and I saw 2 teeth (bottom front) once she moved her tongue out of the way. Bless finally at 7m she has got teeth but got 2 at once. Brave girl and has hardly been upset at all or had sleepless nights. The complete opposite to DS. Alyssa is also doing this funny thing at the mo where she puts her head from one side to the other when you talk to her. Hee hee. Got HV coming this AM for 7-9m review. Texted ruth yesterday to tell her tooth news and she said Fin crawled yesterday . Go Fin! Laters ...

juanitad · 30/06/2009 09:06

Morning all! Hope everyone is well and enjoying the fine weather. A nice start to the day here - only one get up in the night at 4.30, then a lie-in until 7.45 (can't believe that is what I consider a lie-in these days), so thanks P for that! Is my birthday today, 32 years old.....where has my life gone, does't feel like 5 minutes since I was leaving home at 18, all excited and terrified at the same time! My exciting birthday day out is a trip to Harrogate with my dad, and we are going to have lunch in Betty's, he's paying yippee!!

I went into work yesterday for a keeping in touch day. DH was looking after P and when I got home I have never in all my life seen a man so exhausted!! The house was a tip and he could barely speak he was so tired! Glad he has an idea now of what the reality of a full day with a baby is! And typical, in my absence P learned to crawl! Sort of anyway, he can drag himself from one side of the bed to the other, but he can't crawl on the floor yet, it's not as comfy for him I guess. I suppose I'd better get used to the fact that I won't be the one seeing the first everything when I go back to work, I might only be the second to see things. Oh well, not much I can do about that I guess.

vbab, how is Rutho doing? Hope she is ok, she's not been on here for ages.

Juanitad HAPPY BIRTHDAY - hope you have a fantastic day Lunch at Bettys sounds divine and if your dad is paying, all the better And yes it is hard realising you aren't going to see your Lo's doing stuff first - DS1 took his first steps at nursery

Vbab well done to A for the teeth Give Rutho my love and hopefully she will be back on here soon. And go Fin

LackaDAISYcal · 30/06/2009 10:08

ouch tegan!

go and get a test and put your mind at rest! tbh, I'm not sure how long it takes. DH hasn't sent in his sample for testing yet but I'm sure it's about three months, but it's all down to how...erm...active you are!!! By our rate it'll be next year before we are cleared for take-off

Not seen Phee for a bit since she made her announcement. I hope everything is OK!

Happy Birthday jaunita, sounds like a lovely day. Lol at your DH after a day on his own with P though

ikwym about missing the "firsts", but by the time they are 6 and you are missing the first time they have split another child's head open you are just glad you weren't around to witness it . DS1's nursery had a policy of not mentioning any firsts so you could find them out for yourself, unless you had asked them to tell you.

I'm impressed with the decorating in this heat Pinky. Once we got all our clutter sold off I'm going to redo the kitchen then the livingroom and hallway...and I'll have to do it one wall at a time as well as nowhere to store stuff whilst we do the work.

Had a lovely cup of tea and some nappy chat with Yorky yesterday whilst bumble tried to show Yorky's DD how to bumshuffle and she sat and variously grinned at him or poked him! Her DS was really cute and followed my DH round the kitchen sweeping up with a toy brush. I was showing off one of bumble's new nappies that came yesterday for me to test and explaining how good it was as he had been in it for a few hours and it was still fine, and I stuck my fingers in the back of it...and into the biggest stickiest poo I've seen in a ling time.....eeeeeeew.

easy day today; housework this am then stay and play this afternoon.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/06/2009 11:03

bumble has been up since half four and is refusing to go to sleep.....how is this possible!!

ellielou02 · 30/06/2009 12:23

Happy Birthday juanitad
Well Done Alyssa 2 teeth!!
daisy whats your new nappy M had her first night without sposies last night cos I ran out, I used to use them when she was still dreem feeding but thought be safer with sposies when she was going all night!! Well we ran out last night so stuck a flexitot and the bumgenius booster on her and it was great!
Tegan have you tested yet???
Hope Bumble gets some sleep soon.
ceebee I was up watching tennis to last night it was very exciting! Caught a glimpse of Ewan Macgregor too.
Chocgal we are fine just readjusting to DH being away again but typically last night was showering DD1 when I looked at her eye and the white of her eye was all swollen up like a blister, she has hayfever but I had given her all I could so was a trip to A&E with both of them in their jammies, so we got home and I thought all I had to do was put them in bed but millie had pooed like everywhere so I cleaned her up and put her in her cot while I got a new nappy so when I got back upstairs she had only peed all over her bloody bed!! What a night.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/06/2009 13:04

It's a tots bots one....bamboo easyfit i think, very neat and no leaky legs, but given the size of bumble's thighs there isn't a nppy out there that will gape at the legs

tegan, just saw DH's sample pots etc on the desk in the office. He had his op at the end of Feb and the first sample is due in end of June (so four months) with the next one a month later.

PinkyMinxy · 30/06/2009 14:58

no Time just wanted to wish Juanitad a Happy Birthday!!!!

Tegn don't panic/get too excited, cycle gets very mixed up, doesn't it.

back later/]xxx

Oblomov · 30/06/2009 16:42

Hope Tegan is o.k. and has surely done a test by now. Hoping.
My periods are all over the place too. I had my first whilst on holiday a few weeks ago. And haven't had one since. which is very odd because I am a '28 day, never miss a beat girl'. And I am def not pg so this is very odd.

Pinkglow · 30/06/2009 16:54

Ok im back now - have finally moved house and am back at work (part time)!! I was without the internet for ages unfortunately so havent even been able to keep up.

The move didnt seem to phase Henry at all but boy is it hard to keep a baby cool in this weather. At the moment hes sleeping at night in just a nappy with the windows open. Hes doing the rocking backwards and forwards on all fours so only a matter of time.

I will try to catch up - anyone going on holiday over the summer? Go on make me jealous

LackaDAISYcal · 30/06/2009 18:31

Hi Pinkglow, good to see you again

The heat is horrible isn't it? I love hot weather, but only if I can lounge around in it all day; definately not when I am having to do the shopping/hoovering/running after children!!

tegan · 30/06/2009 18:35

Sorry ladies but i am not testing until after the weekend. I have way too much going on at the mo to even think about being or not being pg. I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks (dh is best man) and i have to write his speech for him (he is useless) and dd's are hectic with things going on at school, plus all my, playgroup and school committee business oh and of course life in general.

Don't stress any news you will all be the first to know

Oblomov · 30/06/2009 18:54

Tegan, are you making excuses ?
Once I think I could be/ make the decision, that I want to know, The whole world stops and nothing else in the WORLD would matter other than that result.
Just goes to show how different we all are !!

ChocOrange05 · 30/06/2009 18:57

Hi all

Tegan sounds exciting, I cannot believe you are waiting - you must have nerves of steel!! I hope you get the result you want when you do test.

Pinkglow congrats on the house move - we are in a sauna at home and M's room is 29 degrees but he seems to love his grobag so he's gone to bed in a nappy + 1 tog grobag. Luckily he hasn't seemed too bothered by the heat yet - finally my blond haired, blue eyed boy is proving he has some indian blood!!

daisy I am using disposables at night as I am too scared to go 12 hours with a reusable. If I am brave enough whats the best combo you've tried? DS has v skinny legs and waist.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUANITAD!!

Does anyone know anything about hernias? I think M might have one as he has a blue bulge next to his belly button - the HV said I should go to the docs but didn't seem overly concerned.

We have no teeth, no rolling over, no crawling but he can drink out of a Doidy cup on his own .

ellielou02 · 30/06/2009 19:44

tegan oh I would have to know now haha but thats just me!
pinkglow glad you are getting on well and the housemove is all done!
daisy I have one of those easifit nappies its quite good and I was going to buy more but decided to get the tots pockets and they are awful I tried to sell them but think most people have the same opinion.
choc dont know if you read my post from earlier but the flexitot and the BG booster worked well with a wrap on the top!

ellielou02 · 30/06/2009 19:45

tegan I used to work in day surgery and think the man had to wait 2 months or so then hand in 3 samples a month apart.

tegan · 30/06/2009 21:06

Dh was meant to take his first sample to the hospital last week but he wasn't well so we are taking it this thursday. If the results don't take long i could just wait and see what they are first,

Anyway. I have just completed dh's best mans speech, i just hope he likes it.

PinkyMinxy · 30/06/2009 21:14

Hello
Hi Pinkglow Choc I tend to put mine in a disposable at night, but a few timesa week I use a bumhugger with a prefold stuffed in it under a tots red wrap and that works fab. But I use nighties rather than sleep suits on babies, don't know if that would make a difference re-wicking etc.

OMG I have to lose at least 2 stone. I am soo fat >

Who is def coming to Trafford Centre and can Rutho come. I hope she is ok. Will we need to ring ahead if we are having lunch with so many babies??

LackaDAISYcal · 30/06/2009 21:29

ChocO, I too use dispos at night, but when I was doing some testing last year, the Totsbots flexitot was fantastic overnight. According to their literature it can actually hold half as much again as a disposable. I used it with their wraps and it was pretty bombproof.

I used Bumhuggers overnight when DD was little to great effect as well, and never needed to boost. Tried a tots rainbow fleece wrap overnight but it was too thin. their red wrap is meant to be fab though.

LackaDAISYcal · 30/06/2009 21:29

and Pinky, I have three stone to lose!

ellielou02 · 30/06/2009 22:10

Sorry choco reread your post and noticed about the hernia question, the only thing I know is how they repair them, spent from many a time sitting watching it!!

LackaDAISYcal · 30/06/2009 22:19

ChocO, my nephew had an umbilical hernia that righted itself. I think it's only a problem if it doesn't right itself by the time they are two.

PinkyMinxy · 30/06/2009 22:35

Cannot believe your qwill power, tegan.

Daisy you look really good on your FB pics, also you have slim face, I have a FAT FACE -as a lovely hairdresser once pointed out to me

Plus are we still meeting up at Trafford Centre next wed. Sorry to go on, and Ceebee am I right in thinking they have a Wagamamas there now?

Choco I know nothing about hernias, but hope your little man is ok.x

cricri · 30/06/2009 22:50

Sorry ladies, went a bit AWOL again but I have been lurking. No time for a long post tonight as I really must get to bed. E has taken to waking up somewhere between 5am and 5.30am and babbling away for half an hour or so before going back to sleep until 7am or so Unfortunately I don't find it quite as easy to get back to sleep as she does but I refuse to start my day quite so early!
Happy birthday Juanitad and hope you had a lovely lunch at Betty's!
No crawling here - I think she's going to be a bum shuffler as she shuffled half way across the lounge this afternoon. She's dribbling like anything and shouting a lot too so perhaps there are some more teeth on the way.
Choc I'm impressed at your LO drinking out of his Doidy on his own! E tries to but hasn't quite got the coordination yet and most of the water goes down her front. Plus she seems to prefer blowing bubbles in the water Hope you get some reassurance re the hernia.
Hi to everyone else!
