AFingerofFudge · 25/06/2009 23:33

Haven't been around in a few days, had a horrible on/off cold/bad throat/temperature thing. Feel much better today which is just as well as we're going on holiday tomorrow . Am looking forward to it apart from having to pack for 3 kids now as well as myself. We're off to Ireland tomorrow for a week, am sure there'll be stacks of pages to catch up on in a week!!!

Drumroll.......M finally rolled over for the first time today!!! I know he is one of the younger ones, but even so, he's a bit lazy! I was upstairs hanging washing out when I heard this funny screeching from him. He was downstairs under his play gym. I ran down the stairs to discover him kissing the mat, arm stuck underneath himself. Poor thing, think he gave himself a fright, although not too badly because he did it again a few minutes later.

tegan meant to say to you, I am in Stroud. What part of the Forest are you in??

Righto, must go and pack a few things. We're not going till after DH gets back fro work tomorrow evening, so hopefully will have time to MN tomorrow.

Love to all, sorry its all about me.

tegan · 26/06/2009 07:21

morning all

O slept through..... yay
I don't expect it will ever happen again but i feel great for the undisturbed rest.

Oblomov · 26/06/2009 07:46

ChocO, it is 12 months for : Seafoods (prawns, crabs, dried and fresh scallops)
Peanuts
Egg white
BUT, this is only if there is 'Strong Family History of Allergy'.
My Hv said now is fine, if there is no allergy concerns.
Tegan and Fudge, I love the Forest of Dean. My brother has lived in Newnham for more than 10 years and I have spent alot of time there and lived with him at one point. I love the Forest. I think it is a VERY special place.

ChocOrange05 · 26/06/2009 08:58

Thanks Obs, no history of allergies here and considering M has already had egg whites and peanuts I might as well go all out rule breaking with the scallops!

LadyBuzz · 26/06/2009 09:13

Trafford Centre I would love to meet you ladies again. Would love to do Harrogate as i think it is beautiful but maybe a little bit too far for me! Def up for the TC though .

Vbab they don't know what happened to my firends little boy yet. It could take up to 6 months to get any answers as they are doing further tests on his brain, he was epileptic and had an undiagnosed developmental condition. Hopefully they will find something but they have said they might not. They are taking their DS1 to his grve today as they have told him that Mattie is waiting on a cloud for a balloon to come past and take him into the sky to be a star. They are all going to release balloons for him - How sweet!

Ceebee DS loves his big boys bike but hasn't quite got the hang of pedaling yet - he goes backwards instead . DH is going to set him off this weekend! He looks so grown up!

I think we are going to have to change our car it failed its MOT yesterday and cost over £200 to put right - and thats through my mate getting the work done out of hours .
It costs a fortune on fuel/tax etc etc so I think we might have to go newer to save money if that makes sense??
Question - does anyone have a car with plenty of boot space that has 3 true rear seats (thinking future for 3 car seats here ) that doesn't cost a fortune to run or tax?

chocolategal · 26/06/2009 10:45

morning
Fab FB pics daisy
Glad things improving on the sleep front barbs ladybuzz the HONDA FR-V takes 3 seats across the back and has a good sized boot, we looked at it before buying our Qashqai but decided it was too big as we only have 1 DC! Not sure how cheap it would be to run though.
Yay for sleepthrough tegan we had one last night too, i also dont want to get too excited as am only too aware it may not last! Heres hoping for us though.
Have a fab holiday fudge

Hi to everyone

PinkyMinxy · 26/06/2009 11:21

LB honda as choc says- DH was saying only yesterday that a lot of the new european cars are going to be wider from now on- due to demand re carseats, I suppose.
We have a Fiat Doblo which is really fab, cheap to run, tax, insure etc. with a huge boot. We've found the extra height really handy- no bumping your head when putting the DC into the car, and the sliding doors are a real bonus.
The multipla is very good, too.

Oblomov · 26/06/2009 11:34

Daisy, love the linguine hair extensions. Went to Kings yesterday. Saw 6 ladies sat in an african hairdressers, all having done, what your ds seems to be doing. Ha ha !!

Ceebee74 · 26/06/2009 13:39

Buzz your description of what your friends are doing today brought tears to my eyes Even though it must be so so hard to lose a child, trying to explain it to an older sibling must make it so much harder

So, if no history of allergies in my family, do we think peanut butter may be ok to give the Hamster??

Fudge have a lovely lovely holiday - looks like it will be warm and sunny for you

Right, Traff Centre meet-up - next Wednesday then?? Is that ok with everyone who wants to come? (Buzz can't remember what days your DS1 goes to nursery)

juanitad · 26/06/2009 14:08

Harrogate - so looks like we can all do Tuesday 21st July. So far we've got juanitad daisy barbs ceebee lolabella. Anyone else near enough is obviously welcome too.

ceebee and pinky I will give the TC meet-up a miss. ceebee, you are such a social butterfly at the moment!

Am v pleased with myself as I got a new mobile today. I have been on a rubbish deal for years, never bothered changing my tarrif, and finally I have got a better deal and a much better phone! V exciting! (what a sad life I lead!)

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 26/06/2009 14:50

oh, I can't come to the TC next Wednesday as i'm getting my dodgy mole removed.

jaunita....S&P was soooooo quiet today. I called you to come up but you were obviously out getting your new mobile! they had some women from the library who put on a bit of a show with stories and songs; it was really nice. I've put your name down for the next few weeks....into August I believe! You can always take it off on the ones you can't do

sainsbury's have a third off all baby stuff at the minute so I have stocked up on nappies and organix goodies....but forgot to get wipes!!!

Came home and found some random things that DD must have shoved in the trolley when I wasn't looking....how I didn't notice when I was loading them onto the conveyor belt or into bags I have no idea

Ceebee74 · 26/06/2009 16:35

Ok how about the Wednesday after (8 July) for the Traff Centre? Pinky, Daisy and Buzz are you free that day?

LackaDAISYcal · 26/06/2009 18:33

8 July good for me , but don't let me stop everyone meeting this week if that suits better.

tegan · 26/06/2009 19:40

fudge i live in coleford, a lovely little town.

I am really sorry i can@t get to a meet up with you all it would be fab

twinklingfairy · 26/06/2009 22:22

Golly, where is everyone tonight??
Not off watching BB, are you?
I am, how sad am I? But not watching that 8 out of 10 cats nonsense, can't stand that Jimmy Carr.

Bad night with J again
down at 8, slept to 1130, DH settled him.
Fed at 1230 when he fed fits and starts (think I managed half hour kips) until 330 when he woke and talked to himself until 430.
fed again at 545 then up at nearly 8. Waking at nearly 8 still felt like a lie in though

I had a wee sob at 4ish, why won't my DS sleep??

I'm just not sure if the taking out the dummy thing is working or not though sometimes he is sleeping better, I just can't decide. In general it has improved, 2 nights ago we only fed twice! but still.....
In saying that he was such a smiley wee man today, it was lovely!

PinkyMinxy · 27/06/2009 00:10

Hello
Late for me, I have been out with lovely friend/neighbour.

Had to take Mimi to hosp today because she got really off tummy with the AB's. SHe has the all clear now for her chest and doesn't need the medicine anymore, so that is great news.

8 July for TC sounds great for me.

LBuzz Your friends sound lovely, that is such a wonderful idea.

Twinks I hope you get a better night tonight. It's really warm here and all our children are a bit unsettled with it.

Juanitad well done with the phone thing. I have given DH the job of sorting mine out [cowardy custard emoticon]

Night allx

tegan · 27/06/2009 07:56

Morning all

pinky you should get to bed a bit earlier sweety you will be knackered today being up at midnight.

O slept through again last night. He went down at 8.30 and woke at 6am so i can't complain at that as 6am is my time to get up in the week anyway.

Both my dd's are poorly - dd1 has a really sore throat and can't swallow and dd2 lost her voise yesterday and is still hasn't returned YAY, but she is fine in herself.

I am supposed to be taking both dd's to the opticians today, dd2 needs to collect her glasses and dd1's glasses have spectacularly fallen apart this week and she only had them in january so i am taking them back and letting her have some xmas money now so she can get a pair of Bench glasses before she goes to secondary school.

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 17:02

Poor Mimi Pinky; I hope she is better today....and that you aren't too knackered after your late night!

I'm having a crisis of confidence re nappies!!! My friends wee boy was running around in just a tshirt and his ME wrap yesterday and it looked so cute. Can't do that with dispos! So, I have bumble in a shaped terry nappy and my last big sized wrap just now and am wondering whether or not to carry on cloth-ing him, but put DD in dispos. DH says No to cloth as the washing is too much as it is, but I don't want to sell my cloth nappies. The ones that he has grown out of fine, but my lovingly collected stash (some of which has gone already)....noooooooo .

How is it possible to get sentimental over something which, at the end of the day, is designed to catch poo?

Big time teething going on. It is very nearly through but he is Not Happy about it.

Off to peruse nappy websites...

LadyBuzz · 27/06/2009 17:24

8th July is good for me too! .

Can't wait to see ou all again - esp the new svelte Ceebee!

Well we have a new car (or we will tomorrow)a Renault Grand Scenic with 7 seats. I tried my very very best to find a way to fit three seats into the back of the very nice Audi we saw but it quite simply was not happening so sensible family car it is! Its actually really nice and in very very good condition.

LOL at Daisy being sentimental over the nappies!

tegan hope your girls feel better soon.

pinky hope mimi is better soon too - poor love!

DH is working tonight so I am looking forward to a nice bath and a chilled night on my own with a couple of glasses of wine!

PinkyMinxy · 27/06/2009 17:31

Sounds like a nice car, LB

TeganI know I was bl**dy knackered this morning!

Daisy why don't you put bumble in cloth and DD in sposies? you've got loads of nappies I 'm sure you wouldn't have to do so many loads of washing?

MImis poo is no better and she has a sore bot from so many changes

coolkat · 27/06/2009 17:44

Ah Daisy do what makes you happy. Try sposies with DD and bumble in cloth and if not working you have lost nothing.

Car sounds nice LB X

Pinky hope you had good night. Glad you are feeling bit better.

I feel like I am going to murder someone and its looking like DH. He not really doing ought wrong butr Rahhhhh Feel down. We are going out to a BBQ tonight and have nothing to wear, finding when wear heels my back really plays up but have no nice flats only my Birkies.Going to try heels one more time and if hurt tomorrow that's it with them Was fine before this last pregnancy. I feel so frumpy....

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 18:41

I'll try a few days of cloth and see how we go. It's costing us a fortune in disposies at the minute with them both in them!

We've got the ordinary scenic, not the grand one, but in hindsight.........it does though. It's a bit of a squash and a squeeze with three of them in the back, and we had to buy a narrower booster seat for DS1, but during the week I have DS1 in the front and the two little ones in the back so it's fine.

DH has a company car and gets all petrol paid for, so we are taking two cars when we go on holiday so that we can get all our kit in!!! not very environmentally friendly I know, but we couldn't take the fishing gear otherwise!

LackaDAISYcal · 27/06/2009 18:42

twinkling, forgot to say that I hope you are feeling less tired and emotional and that J slept a bit better last night

Ceebee74 · 27/06/2009 20:35

Evening all - just sat here with a lovely glass of white wine having just watched Andy Murray breeze through

Right, 8th July it is then - any more takers?? Need to find a restaurant that has at least 4 high chairs free

Buzz I feel that I won't live up to your 'svelte' image of me - I still have 20 pounds to go!! Plus, never mind me, I am sure we won't recognise the new slim, trim you either

Coolkat about how you are feeling. I love my heels and would be if I couldn't wear them - and although I only wear them for work normally, I actually couldn't imagine going to work without heels (is that very shallow of me??)

Pinky hope Mimi picks up again soon. Sam was like that last week (plus DS1) - me and DH lost count of the amount of dirty nappies we had changed by Sunday night!!

vbab78 · 28/06/2009 08:48

What do you do when you have seen your DH strongly attracted to someone else and feel like your heart has been broken for good?
