OOh Daisy those tops look fab, you could even maybe wear a lighter top over it for the one up, one down effect?? I also HATE those ugly, awful and huge (why?) clips. Esp when they show under other tops grr.

Yeah lucky ole Ceebs!! Altho I was offered chance of a ticket and turned it down as Tinytoes was going thru his wakeful phase. Then he bloody near enough slept thru on Sat night (concert was on Sun!) TYPICAL!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2009 21:52

Obs, just saw your FB piccies...looking fab lady. I don't think I'll ever wear a bikini again; my belly looks like an AA road map!!

vbab78 · 23/06/2009 22:31

Anyone heard of british military fitness www.britmilfit.com? Anyone fancy giving it a go with me in the Sheffield area?

vbab78 · 23/06/2009 22:48

Oblomov · 24/06/2009 07:34

Thank you for nice comments re bikinism.
Happy birthday Cricri.
Hope you feel better soon Tegan
Can't wait to hear how Ceebee's 'Take that' Evening went. Ha ha. "And yes your mummy does have taste. Not long after you were born, I went to a Take That concert". Yes, we will laugh about this for years to come.

Ceebee74 · 24/06/2009 08:59

Just a quickie - last night was FAB FAB FAB God those boys know how to put on a show - and it didn't rain which was a bonus!

Am v tired today though - got back at 1 and DH's alarm went off at 6.30 Methinks I will be napping with the Hamster at some point today!!

Will catch up later

PinkyMinxy · 24/06/2009 10:29

morning -ish

ceebee glad you had a fabby time I had a thought- I hope naming your baby after a nocturnal animal does not have and negative consequences! Anyhoo hope you get a bit of sleep today.

Obs you look like you had a fab time on holiday, and you do look very fit.

Vbab I not brilliant at hese fitness things- I always seem to go left when everyone else goes right, that sort of thing

Tegan hope you feel better.

Mimi had a better night here. Lovely day here off to the park with the girls shortly.

twinklingfairy · 24/06/2009 11:14

Glad you had a fab time ceebee
I never get to go to concerts (unless my dads strathspey and Reel one counts) just too far. Got to factor in travelling costs, accomodation and time off etc, too much bother
When I lived in Aberdeen I was a student, no money. Ah well, I will live off others experiences and DHs memories. He aberdeenshire born and breed to been to loads.

Think J had a better night. I honestly can't remember when he fed, but think it was only twice. Yey!! And a lie in til 8, woohoo!!!
He is still a bit on the warm side, but doing ok really.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/06/2009 11:47

morning. sorry for all the bad nights, poorly mums and poorly LOs.

It's sooooo hot here today and I have a horrible sinus headache so feel like hiding indoors. We've just been back to school to administer calpol to DS1 as he bumped his head this morning (on top of an old injury)and was complaining it was sore. I am just waiting for the call to say he needs to come home!

Had an altercation with Mr Poodle this morning . I tried to explain to him (nicely) that he should have better control of his dog as if it had been a child they could have been really frightened, and he just kept saying "my dog doesn't bite" over and over again. He wasn't interested in what I had to say or even listening. He then told me I was a troublemaker who had it in for him and he pitied my poor husband and that I should mind my own business. So I told him there was no need to be rude and that it was my business cleaning his dog's shit off the wheels of my pram and his dog jumping up and nipping at me. Then I called him an arsehole and said that although I had been prepared to let it go this time, I was going to report him to the dog warden!

I'm so angry as it will now make me really anxious walking home every day as I hate confrontation. And I usually let DD toddle along but no way I can risk the dog jumping up at her, so our walk home is ruined....we could cross the road, but the other side has lots of side streets and is on a hill which means pushing one handed is impossible and the pram keeps running away. Arse

Glad you had a good time ceebee. I wish I could have gone now.

right, lunch and then clearing some space......i am expecting some more products to test and we can't get anything else in our house!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/06/2009 11:50

that sounds like a better night twinkling, but I kwym about the not knowing. I get a bit like that with bumble, not remembering when or even if he fed! It's all a lot clearer since moving him in with DD though! He went from 8 till 6 last night but I was up to DD twice

Oblomov · 24/06/2009 12:43

Pinky, too kind. Actually I do no exercise other than school run. Plus like you, I am 2 steps behind." and 1,2,3,4" - no. not for me

Oblomov · 24/06/2009 12:46

Daisy, sorry to laugh, but this poodle episode is well funny. Am imagining you standing there giving poodle owner 'what for' and just laughing and laughing to myself.

PinkyMinxy · 24/06/2009 14:56

lol Obs, I was thinking maybe the outdoor keep fit might be ok- I could make lots of space around myself so I'm not bumping into everyone going left when I'm going right

Sparkle well done you with the curtains. I make thigns like that, but have to admit thast DD1's curtains are still pinned rather than hemmed as I never seem to get sround to doing it!

Goos news on the sleep, Twinks

well done, Daisy on giving Mr Poodle what-for. It is the fault of the owenrs, not really the dog. DH's cousin, for instance has a huge doberman type dog, and whilst you never trust any dog with a child, he is very soft and did not jump up once the whle day we were there. It is a real shame when you have to curb your own little pleasurable activities because of someone else's irresponsible behaviour.

If he regularly lets his dog foul the pavement and you know what time of day he does it, the dog warden/environmental health may well act upon a complaint.

sparkletoes · 24/06/2009 15:34

Phew what another scorcher!!

Thanks Pinky have to also say however that yes you caught me, my curtains are still pinned at the hems...!! Is it just me or are hems the hardest part???! That blind stiching lark looks a bit beyond my capabilities and to do them on the machine would show my (feeble) stitching. So that leaves hand sewing.... aargh.

How is Mimi doing today? Have the ab kicked in at all?

Daisy Mr poodle sounds like a thoroughly unpleasant chap. If he doesn't want trouble he is kinda going around it the wrong way no??! Perhaps he is just over compensating his masculinity on account of owning such an 'un-macho' canine. Tosser.

Yay for better sleep Twinkle!

chocolategal · 24/06/2009 18:07

Hi
Another great day here. Need to get one of those tents that you can sit baby in so I can enjoy the sun without constantly worrying that E is burning.

Hope DS enjoyed his bday ladybuzz and the funeral went as well as these things can.

Hope all the poorly mums and babies are on the mend soon.

twinklingfairy · 24/06/2009 18:14

ach, do it on the machine sparkles heck whos is looking and anyway, for teh most part they will be open so no-one can tell
Can ou tell I am a slapdash kinda gal.
I get it from me da

Oh I am so for you daisy imaine coming at you like that and to say your hubby was a poor man to have you
The damn dog nipped at you, you are not a liar and that man is a fool with a stoopid looking dog, to boot. And quite literally you should, well ok you shouldn't but boy would you just like to perfect football height!
Continue with your walk and be armed with your waterpistol. It is only water, the man cannot complain. Or warn him first, he will think you are full of nonsense but has no come back when it turns out you are not.
Phone the wardens first though and tell them your plan, ask if it has repercussions and just do it. At the very least maybe he will avoid you and your gun, at best the dog will become scared of you and steer clear.
At worst though, the dog will become aggrivated
My master plan is falling flat.

PinkyMinxy · 24/06/2009 20:24

Sparkle thanks for asking she is quite a bit better, I think, though her poo has gone rather runny, poor thing.

Regarding the hems, you see I'm too lazy to take them down again once I have pinned the hems, to do it on the machine. You can however buy wundaweb (I think Ikea also do a version) it works quite well.

Have been thinking about LB and her friend today. Such a beautiful sunny day. I hope your DS had a nice time for his birthday.

Yorky · 24/06/2009 20:31

I never liked poodles anyway Daisy, good for you standing up for you and your kids, not sure what the fine thing is for not tidying up after your dog but may be worth mentioning

Hehe to the pinned curtains, I am not alone. I lined DSs winnie the pooh ones with a bed sheet when we were in north yorkshire, but he had quite a small window then and of course the one he has now is bigger - one curtain is properly blackout lined and the other has the lining just pinned on, which is better then it was in oxfordshire where he needed 3curtains to cover the window so 2 were the sheet lined ones and the third wasn't lined!

I am too good a friend and am paying for it now! Friend is pg with 3rd, due last thurs and has had pre eclampsia with both kids but was hoping for home birth this time and her bp and everything have been fine. But she had protein in her sample yesterday so now she's been admitted and given a sweep although shes hoping to avoid lots of chemicals and messing around so I have 2 lodgers tonight the 4yr old had a wonderful time feeding DD but the 2yr old has no recognisable words and I'm not sure if she knows what is going on. The day has gone a lot beter than it might have done but I'm shattered! Could be more to do with DD waking every 2hrs last night than having extra kids today though

Hope the abs are doing the right things pinky

Glad you had such a good night ceebee

Yorky · 24/06/2009 20:33

Whoops, just realised what a mammoth post that was

Any decision on the harrogate meet up yet?

Who was planning on giving up on cloth? and what will you be getting rid of of you do?

Ceebee74 · 24/06/2009 20:34

Pinky I have been thinking about Buzz aswell - hope there were some happy parts of the day for them all!

Lol at the Hamster being nocturnal - he is about as complete opposite as you can be Long may it continue!

Daisy what an a**e that bloke is (although I bet your DH is loving the fact he is thought of as 'put-upon' )

Chocgal we have one of those tents but the Hamster doesn't seem that keen on it - and we can't use it when DS1 is around as he just jumps on it to squash it or climbs in it himself I think the Hamster may enjoy it more when he can sit up (if that ever happens)

Is anyone else's baby noisy? The Hamster does not shut up all day - mainly shouting (but not in a distressed way) He is constantly making all sorts of noises - which I know is good but DS1 was so quiet, it is a bit of a shock (might explain why DS1 didn't talk much until he was 2!)

coolkat · 24/06/2009 20:56

Also thinking of you Ladybuzz X

Ceebee LOl at you calling him the Hamster. Becca is noisy but in a whingey way, its constant real hard work she just squeals, moans and screams until you give her what she wants or take her to where she wants to go!

Daisy cross as the dog owner for you and I am one, a very responsible one at that. We went to the park the other week and had an altercation with a women with a little terrier thing, it was going for our ball in a nasty way and would not leave us alone. DD1 was upset and a row occured between dog owner, SIL and BIL!

Pinky you do indeed sound very clever. I wish I was creative !

I have had a mad day making things for Becca and freezing them. Used Annabel Carmels book and the freezer is now well stocked. Everything still has to be well pureed though as she refuses lumps. She will quite happily eat finger foods though

I have just knocked the remote control to our new TV into my cup of tea, DH is going to be mega pissed off with me. It was one of those moments that you could not do it again if you tried!

PinkyMinxy · 24/06/2009 21:13

Coolkat hope you didn't spill to much of your tea!
Arrgh give me strength dd1 is up again

LackaDAISYcal · 24/06/2009 21:19

I'm not here; am supposed to be working on selling nappies.

yorky, will email you now with my list but beware; it's LONG
