Hello all - as usual I can't keep up!

twinkling and anyone else having sleep issues - for you, I never realised before having M how important sleep is for the soul! It really can dictate whether you have a good/bad day and how you feel about things. I hope things improve for everyone.

Sorry, this isn't meant to show off, esp as some are having sleep problems but M has started sleeping 11-12 hours at night and it started the night we cut out the dream feed at 11pm, he had been waking as well at 3/4am so I think the dreamfeed had started to interrupt his sleep pattern - just in case anyone is still doing this it could be worth a try?

Congrats bumble on his 12 hours, now be a good boy and keep doing it!!

Does anyone else feel like "I love this age", well I think it every month but yet again I love THIS age!! We've had raspberries galore this morning and me, DH and the camcorder are covered in spit.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

ellielou02 · 20/06/2009 16:33

Hi

sparkles I am near dundee so not too far away but am right on the east coast.

Dh and I are going out for tea tonight and a few drinks and I am wearing a dress not worn a dress out for ages but looking forward to some time on our own.
Waves to everyone else

juanitad · 20/06/2009 19:00

Woohoo for bumble!!! 12 hours is fab....keep it up!

CHoco I know exactly what you mean about loving this stage. I remember thinking at 4 months this must be the best age, but now at nearly 7, he's even more fun, and hopefully will get even more fun!! If we could just crack the sleeping I would consider P to be an all round top baby!

Barbs, so glad you had a positive experience with the HV and the children's centre. By the way, we must sort out this trip to Harrogate. Will contact you, Daisy and ceebee on FB to see if we can get a date we can all do.

Hope all you with all of you, especially 'first borns', for whom it is the first, are having a nice 'Fathers Day'.
We are. We have been to Blackbushe market and on the way home bought seafood. We are all sat in the garden eating gigantic prawns crayfish, and dh is also eating cockles and welks - yuk, but it is fday, so I guess he should be allowed
Congrats on the 12 hrs Daisy.

tegan · 21/06/2009 16:08

Afternoon all

I have had a sort out in O's room and found loads of bambino mio prefolds and also the following outers
2x white cotton bottoms 7-10lbs
2x patterned cotton bottoms 8-15lbs
4x bambino mio up to 11lbs
6x whitre prorap classic 9-14lbs
4x bambino mio 11-16lbs
2x white diaperaps 16-21lbs
3x kooshies (2 patterned 1 white) large
1x bambino mio white 21-27lbs
I am keeping the prefolds to use for cleaning as i don't think anyone would be interested in buying them.

I have had a lovely afternoon, my parents came and collected my 3 dc's and i hade a quiet afternoon cleaning O's room, i probably shoudl of had a nap to try and kill this cold but his room was in urgent need of a tidy

LackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2009 20:01

evening all.

tegan I've also done a bit of sorting out of nappies today and packed them all up and weighed them, ready for listing on various auction sites . It has also hit home the true extent of my nappy habit

We've had a fab weekend here. It was the school fair yesterday and I was on tombola...absolutely mental it was! We had loads of prizes and chances were high so we were swamped and didn't stop for over two hours! I was away from bumble for almost six hours though and he had been pretty miserable without me (although when DH and his parents brought them down he ignored me completely ). Today we were at a birthday/father's day BBQ at a friends house and caught up with lots of old friends. It was lovely; really chilled and laid back with all the various kids running around and having a ball.....fantastic.

and true to form, DD is still awake as DH has gone fishing!

right...nappies listings here we come

twinklingfairy · 21/06/2009 20:32

daisy do you have any that are fleece lined?
I am a stickler for my fleece lining

sigh, we have not had a great f/day here.
Started badly with DH being all scratchy.
Whilst DH watched his Grand Prix, I took the LOs off to meet my parents, sis and (future) BIL for a picnic at a wee secret beach, a local thing that I was invited to, was Fab!
Came home to find DH in pub, no surprise there, but he said he wanted a roast but had not put it in (or hung out the sheets that he said he would cos the weather was amazing) aaanyway.
He insisted on cooking the roast anyway, making dinner late (but is f/day he says! F/day or not the LOs have a routine and you could easy cook something quicker, enjoy the roast some other time).
DS fell asleep, then grumped all the way through. I got my dinner but DH had to abandon his to find clean sheets (which should have been dry from the line) and make the beds, so that DS could be put down.
Arguments ensued cos DH was cross with his timing, cross with DS and his shouting, and cross with me if I opened my mouth cos he was expecting (and admittedly got) I told you so's.
We are now not talking, for the second time today. sigh.

vbab78 · 21/06/2009 20:51

Hi all. Sorry for (AGAIN) not being on for a few days so missed lots.
Must say though twinkling happy belated b'day and at those ladies that in the end made you cancel your party. The arses.

Well things been good here with the exception of A being made up with cold which she probably got from DS who's nose seems to be running constantly. Had a nice family day at home today with no issues and just all nice . DS watched "The snowman" dvd twice before bed. I'm my usual exhausted self but cannot bring myself to go to bed early because I have it in my head that this is my me relaxing time.

We have an annoucement ... a new addition to our family . Nemo the goldfish who was 1 of DS many b'day pressies. I sent a couple of well written wind up texts to my friends regarding an announcement and new addition. It of course made my friends think the addition was another baby . hee hee. One of my close friends was REALLY excited as she thought I was joining her 5 in a family club. I explained that we are now 5 including nemo .

The only s*t of the weekend was regarding DH family (surprise, surprise). PIL going on hol with niece and nephew (whom they have all the time but hardly DS or A ). They have got SIL to be their taxi rather than parking up (trust me no logic would be cheaper and less hassle to park). Well the night before they leave SIL goes out with mates, gets in a fight and gets locked up by the police for the eve. We find out this when PIL phone us to get DH to taxi them shortly before they are due to set off and early am. We had family plans and they phone to tell DH to taxi them. Of course DH doesnt want to and would be an arse whilst driving them but NOT tell "NO" like I would my parents (but my parents would never do that). WHY THE F*K COULDNT THEY JUST DRIVE AND PARKUP?! Anyway ... in the end SIL got to PIL just in time to drive them. But typical of my PIL they dont care about who they put out (even phoning friends of theirs in early am). Just want what they want. RE SIL had only 2 drinks and was protecting a friend from a girl hitting her with a bottle. The police arrived as SIL was pulling the "bottle" girl away she didnt even get a punch in and spent the night in the cells for her good deed. ON A GOOD NOTE ... not seeing PIL for 3 weeks now as we go on hol the day they come back

Did also upset myself over FB tarot answers DH gave. He put for one wish "true love". Which made me feel s**t as I assumed he meant I wasnt. He explained after I asked him hours later after stewing that he wants US to get back to how we used to be. STUPID EMOTIONS.

Going to have cup of tea and choc cake now .

vbab78 · 21/06/2009 20:52

coolkat or anyone else got advice on sun screens for buggies? Need 1 for Alyssa when we got to portugal.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2009 21:27

twinkling, I've got some Eco Bumbles. Bumbles are the bigger verion of the Bimbles I sold you before, but the Eco ones are just one layer of terry, a fleece liner and a pocket for stuffing with whatever inserts you choose. They are washed but unused as I had forgotten I had bought them until DH uncovered them in the attic . I've also got some other fleece lined pocket nappies; fuzzi bunz, drybees, happy heineys, bumgenius (but these are pink!).

twinklingfairy · 21/06/2009 21:33

How many eco bumbles do you have daisy and how much do you want (inc postage)?
I am just figuring the more I have the less often I wash

Why are you not keeping? Would make explosive poos a thing of the past?
I never had any bother, with my fuzzis, with DD.
I think it is cos they are elasticated at the back, it holds things in.

Yorky · 21/06/2009 21:35

Hello again everyone, we had a mostly lovely day here, DH birthday as well as fathers day! I let him go back to bed after both kids got up at 530 - at least I only have to do it once this year!

DD cut 2nd tooth last night, but didn't seem to sleep any better for it

Had a lovely roast for tea, which DH was supposed to be cooking but which I ended up taking over as he and DS were planting out their tomato plants and pushing DD intermittently in the swing to stop her shouting for food. Not the best idea with her in a cream dress and DS having a wonderful time in the mud, but hey, whats another washing machine full!!

Daisy - what nappies are you clearing out?

cricri · 21/06/2009 21:49

Evening all, glad everybody seems to have had a nice weekend although Twinkling I hope you can patch things up with DH quickly. Shame to end the day on a downer.
My DH enjoyed his 1st father's day - we went out for lunch with my mum, sis and bil to a lovely country pub and they treated us to the meal as a belated birthday treat for him and an early one for me
On Saturday I met up with some fellow MNtters in Central London which was lovely Just 4 of us from one of the conception threads I was on, but it was lovely to see all the babies together and we had a lovely afternoon in St James Park. E was very good on public transport and very interested in everything around her. I was worn out by the time we got back early yesterday evening though!
London ladies, it's about time we got our meet-up sorted out! The ladies in the north have had two already!
Vbab What buggy do you have? I got a M&P universal sunshade/insect screen for mine. It's been fine. Know what you mean about wanting me time even though you feel shattered - I'm loving the fact I've got my evenings back and end up going to bed really late.
E is now going down at 6.30pm and has stopped waking after half an hour for the past few days. She murmurs a bit but goes back off to sleep by herself. Last night she didn't wake when I got into bed and I'm pretty sure her first feed was at 5.30am But like Lacks I'm not going to be too smug about it as so far it's been one step forwards two steps back!

PinkyMinxy · 21/06/2009 22:10

Yay for the good sleeps, Daisy and Cricri. Meetup soundslike a lovely day out, cricri

LOl Daisy hidning your nappy addiction in the attic!

Yorky My DH had fathers day and his birthday on the same day when DS was born- when DS was only a few weeeks old and is was really lovely!

TWINKS happy belated birthday lovey! I'm sorry your party had to be abandonned. ANd I hope you and DH patch things up, as cricri says.

WE've had a lovley weekend. The curry was fab. Our Swiss friends adore 'English' curry as you can't get anythign like it there. It was a lovely evening.

We've been over to some some of DH's cousins today, had a lovely time. They were having a bit of a 'do'before they go to their house in Brittanny for the summer, so cousin made crepes for us all- Yummy!

twinklingfairy · 21/06/2009 22:34

All fine in the twinkling house.
DH is very good at simply 'fogetting' to be in a huff.
Mainly when he was the one to start it but where would be the point in bringing it all back up again, unless I really feel he needs to apologise, I just let in slide and enjoy the peace
Sometimes it works to my advantage

vbab I know! I was so mad with them.
The one who chose the other party phoned me yesterday to apologise and today to invite me to another thing and to apologise again. sweetheart.

LackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2009 22:40

Hey yorky

twinkling, I have five of the eco bumbles....I'll email you. I hope you and DH are speaking again

I've given up with cloth as it was just one more thing to think about in my sleep deprived state as I kept forgetting to wash them. I was also doing three or four loads of washing a day and struggling with it all, so the nappies was the obvious thing to give, sadly. I'm very sad about it, but......clean clothes for my family are a higher priority at the minute!!

yorky...too many nappies to list on here . I'll email you as well. I have some gorgeous girly prints though....

pinky....just wait till DH finds the handbag stash . Your day sounds lovely

cricri, meet-ups are great aren't they? I'm glad you had a good time.

IKWYM about staying up too late. After being climbed on, pawed at, followed, strangled in the name of a hug, cuddled in the name of reparation for being naughty etc etc, I just want some ME time to sit in my own wee space with no-one hanging off me!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2009 22:47

sory, vbab; didn't mean to ignore you . I've got a sunshade by protectabub, but it is specifically for the rear seat of the P&T. They do all sorts though and are very good, although DH calls the full coverage ones baby burka

re FB.....I'm soooooo glad my DH is not into FB or forums or anything like that. I was going to send him an invite to FB, but thought better of it; he's better offnot knowing about some of my cheeekier status updates

and re the silly quizzes, sometimes you have to click on something even though none of the categories apply....but if he is wanting to get back the the "way you were", tell him a little bit of flowers and chocolate romance and wooing wouldn't go amiss

Your ILs sound like a right nightmare! Things like that tend to put you in a right bad mood; I never appreciate being called early am!!

Yorky · 21/06/2009 23:04

RE: silly quizzes on FB, DH did the how many kids will you have one, and it said 1boy and 1girl, so he has now decided baby dancing will have no consequences!!

PinkyMinxy · 22/06/2009 00:25

Hello again

Sorry I missed you Vbab- grrr to your inlaws. Big hugs lovey.xx

Can I be really irritating but i have been rummaging around on or threads and I can't find it. There was a bit where you all were talkign car seats. I just noticed that m/care are doing a bit of a sale. I am thinking maybe repalce DD1'S car seat (maxi-cosi priori) for one that will do her for a while and to put Mimi in her old one. Are there any that are any good that would still give her a 5-point harness and recline but turn into high back booster and are they any good? DS really misses the recline on his seat.

vbab78 · 22/06/2009 07:41

cricri ive got m&p aria. didnt think about a m&p 1. DUH . thanks will look into it.

keep feeling like Carrie Bradshaw without the sex or life at mo.

LadyBuzz · 22/06/2009 08:27

Pinky the Britax Evolva starts off with straps, is suitable from 9 months, turns into a highback booster (but not a normal booster cushion). It does have a slight recline but you have to take the seat out to recline it which is a pain. DS has alays loved his though!

Vbab not surprised you were a bit p'd off with the ILs I also would not appriciate being woken up!

Yay for Bumbles 12 hour stint Daisy

sounds like people had lovely weekends for fday!

I had a tarot party on Saturday night with the girlies - It was great fun. The reader was so so lovely and the cards were spot on for me! I was a little drunk and suffered for it yesterday though .

Got a busy week this week, DS will be 3 on Wednesday and unfortunately that is also th day of the little boys funeral - something I am definately not looking forward too bt needs must!

Hope everyone else is OK

vbab78 · 22/06/2009 08:41

SOMETHING FOR A GIGGLE. I have just gone into overdrive with my clumsy and stupid mode. IMAGINE DS dyson toy hoover without hose in the top positioned in front of fish tank. Me feeding fish and bending down to check I havent overfed the fish. Plant my big arse on top of DS hose part of hoover. RIP through new pair of jeans making 2 inch hole and big scratch on my arse. I REALLY DO AMAZE MYSELF.

DH when I phoned and told him at work made reference to the choc thread with the lollipop sticks and saying using my son's play hoover as a sex aid is beyond bad. Typical DH.

I hope my day gets better from here.

PinkyMinxy · 22/06/2009 10:11

Lol vbabn and ouch! I would say your day can only get betterf rom here!

LB thanks- I will check that one out- I think it's in the sale. They have a regular booster that reclines too, but not sure if DH ill let me get a new one for DS. The main thing is on our long jourenys down to Cornwall etc, he just can't get comfy to sleep.

sparkletoes · 22/06/2009 10:25

LOL Vbab!!! I also thought of Choco's link to that thread when I read that!! But ouch to you and bigger ouch to your new jeans .. have you got any Arnica cream for that bruise? Grr to your PIL too...

Big waves to Ellielou over in Dundee!! So how many of us in Scotland, know Chocgal also a Scot.. anyone else?? We do seem quite spread about for us all to meet but possibly groups of us can???

Agree with ChocO that this age is lovely (any sleeping issues aside...). Tinytoes is sitting up nicely now and it melts my heart to see him and his brother playing together. DS1 insisted on reading him books the other day. I got more of the "that's not my..." range that he loved as a baby. Ds1 remembers them all so was actually like he was reading them LOL!!

Sleep is still improving chez Sparkle thankfully... 2am wakenings are now nearer 5am so with bed at 8(ish) that is 9 whole hours!!!!! Unheard of til now. We also have 2 definite little teeth at top too...

Gotta post and run so apologies to anyone I have missed!

chocolategal · 22/06/2009 13:10

Hi everyone

Not been on for a few days, had a busy weekend with it being our anniversary and fday.

I see a few of us are getting better sleeps. We had 3 nights of sleeping through (the usual up time of 5.30-6 though) but last night we were up at 2am and took 6 oz milk so obviously hungry.

Had E's final kidney scan this morning which he screamed through, hes usually so tolerant of them
He also cried most of the way home in car, que a stressed mummy with sore head!
Hes back to normal now though.

sparkles im 10minutes from ellielou, we actually trained together so have met her and her DD's a few times now

Hi to everyone
