Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

Well done Pinky keep it up and LOL at your dh dancing round the room
Coolcat blimey - hope you can sort things out £300 is a lot to blow.
LOL at TKMaxx I bought minirosas 2.5 bag in the summer - I wanted a pink one and went weekly when i was there - I saw one and grabbed it. I think I will need a lightweight one but H&M here don't mark what weight they are do Ikea ???? If no then I will have to order a grobag on line and get it sent over. Tonight she is on one of her 0-3 nighties a bit short now but she seems happy.
Today another screaming day for her. I honestly can't do a thing when she is awake- I took both dd out for a walk round 5 ish as I couldn't take any more. DD1 tired wanted to sit on her buggy board but at least MR stops crying when she is out. I am eating when they are both asleep dd1 was getting so good at eating on her own as we ate together but now I have to hold MR and the 'don't like this , don't want this is coming back .:ARGGGGH
Dozy how you feeling ????

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 20:58

Thanks all. It means a lot. To think I didn't really know I had a major problem before I joined mumsnet! I think thigns may get a bit worse for a bit, and my sis has already threatened to cut me off, but I hope I will be strong enough to think it is her loss if that happens. LOng road ahead, methinks.

I too am loving this talk of babies rolling into nooks and crannies! I remember the easter before last we went camping at Crickieth, and the tent was on a slight incline. DD1 was rolling at this point and we kept having to hunt for her in the corners of the tent as once she started rolling she couldn't stop lol (maybe you had to be there)

ceebee don't worry, allow your natural leadership qualities to shine through

barbareebaa · 15/04/2009 21:00

hey peeps! Bin trying to catch up in bits as and when so apologies in advance for cr*p memory!
pinky Excellent you stood up for yourself today - I hope it will now get easier and easier xx
erm..
gro-bags - only have 2.5 tog but will check the online place daisy mentioned - 2 for 24 quid sounds ver reasonable indeed!
coolkat Bad news re:dh - gees - like you don't have enough to be thinking about atm!!
Do vent if you need!!
Fabulous rolling babies W can roll onto his side and back, blow raspberries (so pleased - didn't think he would be able to with his tongue-tie)gets well mardy if you take a toy away/ drops toy. But he is mainly a whingy whinger atm, driving me and dh nuts. Must be all this razzing!
My boy went to bed with dirty feet tonight we played out too late in the park and I just topped and tailed him tonight - am so thrilled, hope there will be many dirty footed bedtimes to come
IYSWIM
Freezer has packed in - seriously bad news as we have been gathering food for the famine when the maternity leave comes to an end - am in slight denial about how bad it will be.
been talking about moving back to harrogate in July as wil be cheaper and we are not going to be rock stars after all. HOOOOORAAAAAY! keep your fingers crossed!!

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 21:05

Woohoo! Shame about not being rock stars, but it would be lovely if you could move back home, even for a bit.We lived in the south fo a while, and it was lovely, but aside from being too near my mother it is lovely to be home.

Love the dirty feet. Just wait til tey are creating their own bathing swamps (DD1'S fave gae in the garden)

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 21:07

game, not gae (whatever one of those is) I don't know why I'm bothering really my typing is always so atrocious

barbareebaa · 15/04/2009 21:14

Bathing swamps is that like a mud bath? Sounds fab!! Think my bro used to do this until my mum gave him a cold strip wash in the garden after a particularly swampy session (she was less impressed)(and when he was a child obviously)

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 21:24

yup that's the one . SHe carefully digs the soil over, then waters it to just the right consistency, then sits in it and sort of pulls the mud over her legs and pats it down. Very funny and very messy!

ChocOrange05 · 15/04/2009 21:30

Evening all... check out my random thread here and let me know what you would do.

vbab78 · 15/04/2009 21:34

5 & heartmum - sorry to hear about your rough night. fingers crossed for you tonight.
lacks - Must tell you that DH looked up your "PARVENUS" scrabble word and wished he hadnt! Teach him for trying to learn. Men arent meant to evolve. Congrats on bumble's best night yet and a happy resolution to bedroom negoiations. Wish you well at the doctors. May be nothing but always worth getting things checked out.
autumnlady - not just my baby growling then. Alyssa loves grunting and growling at people . Wonder which parent (or both) that is from? She is very strong willed. I thought my DS is but even he wasnt this early. Not sitting up on her own yet but loves being stood up, especially against the back of the sofa. She is really strong in both mind and body . That went a little deep.
ceebee - thanks for the north meet up info. BUM! DS is at nursery Mon & Tues until 1pm. So dont think I could come . ST! ST! ST! ANY chance of a do not on Mon or Tues AM next time then could meet you with my hellspawn kids?
coolkat - Really sorry to hear about you and DH. I completely understand you being pissed off. I personally HATE gambling and I found out after a year or so with my DH (13 years been together ) he had severe debt a (small) part of the issue was slot machines luckily WE sorted it out and now he is a tight arse but I still hate the machines. RE arsey DHs my DH currently goes from being "ok" to making one off nasty comments saying stuff like have I taken my pills today. He is being a nasty arse referring to my Kalms tablets which I am trying before seeing doc for possible PND. helpful?! Think the f**k not! Just seems that since I have admitted (mainly to myself) possible PND he uses it in most scenarios to make it me that is wrong with my emotions. Sorry went off on one .
lacks - LOL at bumble playing peep a boo.
pinky - WELL DONE. Just pictured your DH doing a silly dance (even though dont know what he looks like) . I am a stupid cow.
rosa - Sorry to hear about troubles. I find a walk is always good.
WOW dont come on for ages and see what happens to my posts!

Oblomov · 15/04/2009 21:37

Actually Vbab, Parvenus was mine !!

Emmanj · 15/04/2009 21:41

hi all,

barbs - moving back home sounds good, Harrogate is lovely, my brother lives near there. Hope it all works out for you. about freezer!

Poor you rosa with your screaming day, I also find gettting out with the pram is the only thing taht stops my DD at the mo.

pinky i meant to post earlier but wanted to say well done for standing up for yourself, and even though it may be a long road ahead, it'll be worth it. As you say, keep strong and its other peoples' losses.

I am knackered.

Off to check chocs new thread!

5inthebed · 15/04/2009 21:49

Pinky Well done! I wish I could be so forward with my mam, she is the reason for most of my problems, my councelor told me so.

Coolkat Sorry about your DH. I hope he can stop or get some help.

Barb Fingers crossed you get to move back to Harrogate. Would be nice to live near family.

Sumo has been well fed today, am hoping he has a much better night than last night.

Oblomov · 15/04/2009 21:49

barbs, M is crying alot at mo. Inconsolable. Going out for walk is only thing that is helping us, too.

Heartmum2Jamie · 15/04/2009 21:50

Pinky well done you!!

I'm think I am going to have to trial myself on a dairy free diet for Zack. He reacted to something over the weekend, admittedly only 1 single hive, but my heart sank when I saw it (ds2 is allergic to dairy, eggs, most nuts & wheat). Then, over the last week or so, Zack has gone from pooing every other day, to several times a day. He's only gone once today, but it was really mucousy. I know it could be due to teething, but he's not showing any other really obvious teething signs, plus his belly has become really rumbly and add that to his increasing mardiness, I figured it is worth a try. Fingers crossed!

vbab78 · 15/04/2009 22:03

obs - sorry . See ... you are just way too intelligent for me. I cant even get names right never mind think of REAL brainy words and then spell them!

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 22:05

Sorry to hear of all these babies crying.

heartmum- allergies are very difficult. Hs your other son grown out of any if his yet? I have a friend whose little boy had all those allerigies- it has been very difficult, but he is getting more tolerant as he grows up.

5 it has been a long time coming. and there were mitigating circumstances that made it possible for this little victory. My therapist is fab. as is the support here . Have you been to the stately homes thread? I have found it very supportive.

Have just bought myself a new bfeeding/sling necklace, as DS has been asking if he can have my old one for ages now. I'm quite excited as it will have Mimi's name and DOB on it (saddo)

barbareebaa · 15/04/2009 22:11

obs - saw your posts too - total sympathy. Glad you have your walks to get some respite! unfortuately W hates the pram - generally he is wah wah wah up the street unless he falls asleep - but is noy guaranteed.
W loved the park tho even tho the toys we took were the same ones he gets bored with at home he happily played with them for the whole time we were there.
His sleeping is pants too. Last night we found a recording on the internet of some cars swishing along a wet road - me and dh couldn't keep our eyes open but W was bouncing around manically!

NOOOOOOO he has awoken! doing 1half hour sleeping only at mo.

twinklingfairy · 15/04/2009 22:12

breastfeeding/sling necklace
what is that?is it one of these?
I was thinking of buying one of them, but have been to the shops and am going to try to buy one that I might actually like to wear
Dunno if it was worth it, hink it may have een easier just to buy that one

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 22:13

anyone else having issues getting the thread to load? It's taken me nearly two hours to get on as every time I click on the thread my internet grinds to a halt and I have to go into task manager, shut down and start again. It's fine on ohter topics, just postnatal

anyway...wanted to say sorry coolkat for asking a question and them seemingly buggering off. I hope that you and DH can sort things out.

Pinky....that is bloody fantastic . You go girl

barbs........juanita and I are only half an hour away from Harrogate . would be great to be able to meet up regularly.

bumble is whingey and groany and red faced about everything at the minute as well; it's a noise I am starting to dread. I think it's because they know what they want to do, but just don't have the co-ordination to actually do it so are getting really frustrated. Once they are rolling or sitting and can be more self reliant it gets better.

heartmum, I hope you get to the bottom of Zs whingeyness. I know that when I've eaten gluten unwittingly (or even wittingly ) bumble has a reaction to it. I'm going to take it very carefully with gluten where he is concerned as a result.

bumble had some ella's kitchen stuff tonight (it's on offer in Sainsbury's) mixed with plum baby porridge and BM and some mashed peas in it.....the peas got swiftly spat out again but he liked the rest! We also gave him a chip but he just dropped it as he didn't seem to realise it was for eating.

and have been trying to link THIS Warehouse Sale for anyone who can get to Chiswick easily. I love their catalogue and have oredered lots of stuff from them. sounds like thier could be some good bargains!

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 22:34

thanks lacks

maybe it's me crashing the thread- I'm posting loads onn here again now DH is back at work!

Twinks it's from here

I have the one with bells on.The colours are really nice, and the bells have tiny pictures of animals on which the DC really love. I know it's not exactly sophisicated jewellery but they really work and you always have a toy handy!

I have a New Zealand jade comfort necklace too, that DH and DS bought me, and I never take that off.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 22:38

can't remember who said they would check out the slumbersacs.....but it was from this ebay shop. However, I have just had an invoice from the seller which doesn't reflect the discount offered on the shop page. I'll update when I've heard back and/or received the goods.....would hate for anyone to be buggered about by someone I recommended.

still loading really slowly so apologies for not actively taking part in the chat tonight!

Pinky, one of my MN friends has the chubby wubby necklace for her DS, but he uses it as worry beads mainly as she said he kept trying to stuff the beads in his mouth along wit her nipple

They are lovely but I think bumble will be of the distracted baby type.....mind you he loves his linkies...I could always just sling those around my neck

ruthosaurus · 15/04/2009 23:16

Evening all.

Ceebs, sorry I have been so cack re meet-up and Vbab, bugger, Monday am was my idea as I thought it might be easier for you. Arse, sorry chick.

Lacks, sorry to hear about your health issue and hugs for luck there. I didn't say before, but am v sorry about your mum and thanks for your wishes re my grandma. I'm just glad grandma got to see Finbo and you must have been thinking about your mum lots when Bumble was born. Speaking of which, DH has started calling our Fin Bumbo.

Pinky - YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY! Well done, well done. I am chuffed to bits. My family is no stranger to internal hostilities and tbh with some people it is worse to keep in touch than to keep making the effort. Oh, I am so proud of you!

Food, I can't remember who said their bab was the only one not on solids yet but I'm holding out til 26 weeks at the moment. Even if it means having a squirmy baby on my knee and eating after he's gone to bed.

Coolkat - £300? Git. And you're going to let him sleep on that nice sofa? The floor's too good for him. And no, of course you don't owe him for your birthday do. The very idea.

Got Fin's green wee results back from the hosp today and there is some tiny sign of infection but it is inconclusive, so the GP prescribed him antibiotics but the actual real paediatrician at the Children's Hospital said not to give them to him until we've brought in another wee sample. I love GPs. again.

We also saw Weaning Lady at the baby clinic today (DH has a week off at my insistence so he doesn't go nutty with work stress) and she was a bit mixed message on when it was okay to introduce solids - she asked how old Fin was twice and told us it was fine to introduce solids now but also to wait until 6 months. Is there some vagueness thing in the air today? But DH is now not pressuring me to start Fin on solids, so that is good.

barbareebaa · 15/04/2009 23:28

sorry to hijack but am now unsure what to do about W in sleeping bag.
room temp 21, tog 2.0
went in his neck felt a bit hot. Link says only a sheet and blanket or 1.0 tog.
he's only ever slept in a bag before. Am tempted to sit up on the sofa with him tonight and try get a 1.o tog tomorrow.
do have sheet and blanket but W won't settle.

what would you do?Am covered in confusion. Feeling slightly over the top about it as W being my one and only have no situation to compare it to and am aware may be sounding ridiculously hysterical bout nothing!!

ruthosaurus · 15/04/2009 23:30

Barbs, can you have the bag on him but open?
