Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

Coolkat Meadowhall is about the same distance away from me - I am hoping Sam (and DS1) will sleep most of the journey - do you not think Becca will?

Emmanj · 15/04/2009 16:02

Thanks for the chart daisy, i found it really useful, and i think i am now using too much bedding so will cut back!

Lovely and sunny here, tried to do some gardening with DD on her playmat outsde but she did nothing but scream and moan so i have resorted to coming back inside. So much for that plan! it took me about an hour to bloody organise everything to go out there!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 16:15

I have the same problem here if I want to do anything emmanj. the other day I was trying to put laundry away and it was fold one tshirt, walk round the bed to put bumble's dummy in (he was propped up in the corner of the cot), walk back round fold another tshirt...go and out bumble's dummy in..and repeat to hair pulling point. I gave up on the folding eventually! He was really whingy in the garden atthe weekend as well; I don't think he liks the wind!

I had a mummy meltdown earlier as i had had enough of DD and bumble both whingin non stop today....having a tantrum yourself seems to help stop your toddler's tantrums, and make sure she stays in bed when put there

That's a good chart daisy inside the grobag sleeping bags you get a room thermometer and on the back is a chart similiar and I go by that.
Am back from visiting friend and newborn baby, so so so teeny, I could have cuddled him all day

My DS is on his playmat and has just taken his sock off and is now chewing it!! Nice!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 16:54

I've just ordered a couple of 1 tog bags now as my 6-18 month bags are all winter weight (DD being a summer baby) and the 0-6 one bumble was in last night was a bit on the nippy side!!

Got them from a shop on ebay; "slumbersacs" rather than "grobags" but two for £24 posted which is a good buy I thought. Grobags are hideously expensive!

OP posts:
Ceebee74 · 15/04/2009 17:02

Daisy I used to buy Slumbersacs for DS1 - they were great. No different to grobags at all but at least half the price!! Also, if you have a TKMaxx handy, they often have proper grobags for £10-£15.

Sam has discovered how to blow raspberries this afternoon

I've got all my grobags from tkmax all around £14

ruthosaurus · 15/04/2009 17:15

Hi all!

I forgot to mention the other day - HE ROLLS! But he does not roll back again yet.

gtg, screaming ensuing over here. Erk.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 17:27

I always find with TKmaxx that they have 2.5 tog bags in stick in the summer and 1 tog bags in the winter, although I'm sure DD had a little slumbersac that we got there when she was a baby.

ruthosaurus · 15/04/2009 17:30

Bags - I got one from Pumpkin Patch but it has no tog rating so I just add and subtract layers as seems appropriate. We do have a thermometer as well!

Ikea do an £8 sleeping bag for babies - we just got one for Finbo's cousin when she arrives in 2-5 weeks (ooh - more babies to play with!).

chocolategal · 15/04/2009 17:33

Yes that's very true daisy. I had bought a couple whilst preg so got the seasons right.
Well done on the rolling rutho!

Just given DS a little bit of banana I was having and he loved it! Swallowed the lot! Hopefully he will take ok to this weaning malarky when we start properly!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 17:37

ikeas bags are really nice. we got a big one for DD there and the zip went from top to bottom so foiled her for a while...she can undo it now though!

Emmanj · 15/04/2009 17:58

Lol at washing folding...(whats that??!!!) daisy!! Glad its not just me that cant get anything done!

will have a look in TK maxx tomorrow, need lightweight gro-bag, thanks for the tip! love the sound of ikea £8 but me+baby+ikea=hell on earth!!

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 18:43

HI all
Sorry you are poorly again, Dozy- maybe you have been overdoing things? It's hard not to when you nave felt so ill, but I think yuo should probably lt yourself get better slowly.

Am I alone in liking Ikea, then? I actually enjoy it. WE take the DC there for a trip out if the weather's bad. But then the Ashton one is quite nice, nicer than the one we used to go to in Warrington.

Been to soft play today. Put Mimi on my back in my wrap sling.

SMimi is still only rolling onto her side, and I gave her some banana today but she's still pushing things out with her tongue. Ho hum stage not an age and all that. Definitely teething, though. She actually smiles and opens her mouth when I offer her the nelsons powders, poor love!

5inthebed · 15/04/2009 19:06

Ceebee will give sleep section a try. Didn't even realise there was one, need to have a good look around MN at all these topics. I've been a member since October last year, but didn't really venture further from SN until recently.

Daisy that chart is helpful. Need to get some 1 tog grobags.

Feeling a bit more better today, had a little nap with DS2 and Sumo earlier so refreshed enough to function and feel at least half human

Went to my neice's birthday party today. Sumo chewed on a breadstick. Well, more sucked and gummed than cheweed. Didn't actually eat any, but must have been nice to chew onwith his sore gums.

Sumo can roll over onto his belly, but has a habit of rolling under the TV stand, which leads to him losing his temper.

Ceebee74 · 15/04/2009 19:47

5 lol at the image of Sumo rolling under the TV stand - we need a photo

Daisy once I twigged that TKMaxx stock the opposite grobags to the season, I started buying in advance - too good a bargain to miss

Pinky glad Sam isn't the only one pushing the food out - was beginning to think he was the 'odd one out' on here as all the other babies seem to be wolfing food down without any problems. Tried Sam with some baby porridge today to see if that was any more successful than the sweet potato...he at least kept it in his mouth for a few seconds this time but then it just came right back out but all mixed with saliva

coolkat · 15/04/2009 20:02

LOL at Sumo being stuck under TV stand.

Ceebee Becca crys whenever in her car seat at the mo. I am also scared of driving all that way on my own! We will see. Is that def the place? How many people going?

Me and DH have had a huuge argument. A lot of nasty things said. He gone to work. I am so pissed off with him. You know when you just don't want to make friends. He plays mind games and yes my surprise party was amazing but that does not mean I have to bow down to his every request We are a bit skint at the minute and I looked at his statements today. £300 lost to william hill since FEB 1st.

Sorry for the rant but am so cross, he will be sleeping downstairs today.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/04/2009 20:15

bloody hell coolkat . that's a lot of money to chuck away. Has he had a problem with gambling in the past or is this a new thing? Would he ask for help with it?

bumble managed to roll under the sofa earlier. I laid him on the floor in rthe living room then was in the kitchen sorting tumble drier out. I popped my head round the door to see he was OK and couldn't see him....he had turned round through 90degrees and rolled!! Gotta start re baby-proofing...argh.

I like IKEA as well, but only when it's quiet.....9.30pm is a good time to go through

OP posts:
coolkat · 15/04/2009 20:19

No previous problems, just think he got a bit addicted, I only checked as he shut his account and I could not understand why. Sadly the arguments not about that. Will be though when he gets home.

Sorry for going on just so peeved and cross, I swear I feel I could knock him out !

PinkyMinxy · 15/04/2009 20:31

AH ceebee glad you have a late developer, too I think they just want to get it perfect first time, so are practicing when we are not looking .

coolkat that's a lot of money to waste! I hate gamblign with a passion, it is very destructive. As daisy says, do you think he willbe prepared to confront this issue? I am sorry you are having abad time.

Ok all set for meet-up. Really looking forward to it.

Rutho- do you want a blanket or has the moment passed, now? Was jjust thinking I could bring one with me if you did- but no pressure At All

Can I have a little drum roll please... I said NO to my mother, today. She was laying on the weepy weepy guilt trip (after she pulled a few of her stunts over Easter) and wanted to come over this afternoon, well, told me she was coming over, more like. I suddenly heard this voice saying 'no, not today, we'll talk about it after the weekend (she's going visiting not so DB).. and it was mine! DH was doing a little dance in my honour next to me. And I have not had an anxiety attack today, in fact, I feel quite calm.

coolkat · 15/04/2009 20:34

Yay Well done Pinky. x

chocolategal · 15/04/2009 20:37

pinky that sounds like a BIG step for you. Well done you!

coolkat sorry you are having DH issues just now, rant away here if it helps

I also have a funny image of all these rolling babies getting stuck in awkward places!

Ceebee74 · 15/04/2009 20:48

Pinky well done Now you have taken the first step, hopefully it will be easier from now on.

Coolkat for you at your DH - £300 is a lot of money normally, let alone when you are on maternity leave. I hate it when DH's throw one good deed at you forever aswell - very annoying indeed.

Meet-up afaik, attendees so far are me, Daisy, Pinky, Rutho and Vbab (and maybe Coolkat) - anymore? I am very as I feel I have taken this over (sorry Rutho)

Oblomov · 15/04/2009 20:53

Well done Pinky.
Sorry to hear this Coolkat.
