Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

Emmanj · 13/04/2009 19:39

oh dear daisy, sounds awful you poor thing. Hope DD is ok.

fudge - the 1st period i had in March was like you describe, gushing and all sorts, i think its normal, esp since its the 1st one so you've prob good a fair amount built up (ewww sorry that sounded gross!).
i thought mine had settled back into a monthly pattern but i think not. be interesting to see what others say.......??

ellielou02 · 13/04/2009 19:41

Hi all,
Dont mention periods to me I have been having about 3 or 4 a month!! Got my first one on hogmany and boy was it heavy, then had another 2 or 3 in january but they werent proper periods iykwim heavier than spotting, any way had another really heavy one at beg of feb and march with about 2 or 3 "mini" periods in between, this month have just been bleeding for 3 days then stopping for a few weeks then bleeding again, have been to doc and swabs done but he thinks its just my body sorting itself out and being on the mini pill! So I hope it settles down soon.
Glad you enjoyed the park pinky, on the subject of suncream my local semi chem do a tube of johnstons baby (dont usually use the stuff cos of eczema) factor 50 for about 2.99 it doesnt seem to bother DD1 skin.
5 I live on the coast and we always seem to have a "har" which makes it freezing.
PMSL at emma and her "growler"
Coolkat hope becca sleeps tonight
daisy We were wondering about the room situation too, we have 2 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs I dont want to put dd2 in with dd1 as she is nearly 5 and has alot of little toys, so we are going to give dd2 our room and move downstairs, but was really wanting a dining room. Heyho nevermind.

5inthebed · 13/04/2009 19:44

Oops Daisy. Hope your DD is ok. Try not to be so hard on yourself. It happens. I once went to A&E with DS1 when he banged his head, and there was a little boy there who had sprayed half a bottle of air freshner into his mouth . He smelt lovely

My periods are none existant. I'm lucky if I have 3 a year, so can't really help at all.

Sumo fall asleep on the carpet at half 6 tonight! Had to put him to bed without a feed, feeling aprehensive about it, I know I'm in for a bad night tonight, might do a dream feed about 9ish as he is due a bottle at 8 (if he doesn't wake up for it).

ellielou02 · 13/04/2009 19:45

AWW daisy hope dd1 is ok, my mum will know how you feel I drank brake fluid one night (my dad had a garage) and it was in a lemonade bottle left out by another mechanic so my dad took me to a&e and when we got home my little sis offered me a sweetie but it was a mothball so another phone call to the GP it was.

juanitad · 13/04/2009 19:55

Lacks, hope DD is ok, agree with the others - don't be so hard on yourself.

Emmanj, no periods here yet - am bf and on mini-pill, so no idea when they might come back. I like not having them!!

Have had a fab Easter weekend - night out on Friday (surprise party for a friend - and he was very surprised!!), then Riverdance on Saturday - it was amazing!! I wanted to watch it all over again when it was finished. My parents certainly worked hard this weekend as they were babysitting Friday night and all day Saturday! I rarely spend any time away from P and I definitely felt refreshed after a few hours without him! Gave me renewed energy!

How was everyone else's Easter weekend?

juanitad · 13/04/2009 20:04

Just added the Scrabble application on FB, not really sure what I'm doing or how to start a game..........anyone want to enlighten me?

Ceebee74 · 13/04/2009 20:15

Daisy I hope DD is ok - these things happen with toddlers!

Rosa lol at minirosa posting her dummy through the cot bars Sam has a habit of pulling it out of his mouth and then dropping it....and then screaming cos it isn't there anymore - v infuriating!!

Juanitad your weekend sounds fab - time away from P will do you both the world of good - I just wish I had someone to babysit.

My periods seem to be back to normal(ish) - have had 3 since Sam was born - first one at the end of Jan and then 5 weeks after and then 4 weeks after (which is normal for me - my cycles were always anything between 4 or 5 weeks).

It has been a glorious day here - lovely lovely so what did we do....go to soft play Anyway DS1 had a good time and I guess that is all that matters.

Have succumbed and am going to start weaning tomorrow - Sam is getting really grumpy and unsettled between feeds. Have got some sweet potato out of the freezer...

Rosa · 13/04/2009 20:16

Oh Daisy I hope she is ok - Keep us updated.
I was prescribed cerozzette ( SP) but gave it up as it was playing with my hormones too much and I decided it was not worth it for a bit I might try it when fun and games could be an option in teh future but I want to make sure that I have a check on the down hormones that keep popping up .
SUncream - I use Avene its expensive but lasts a long time dd has very delicate skin ( as does dh ) . He also has that red look about him sun or not !

LackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2009 20:26

we know that only too well ceebee!

since she was nine months old she has munched her way through a packet of silica gel, some holly berries, a handful of sudocreme, regularly gets to the halos and horns berry shampoo (proclaiming..Mmmmm tasty ) and now this. I'm sure NHS direct have informed SS already!!

I've had two periods and the second was four weeks after the first so looks like it has normalised really quickly.....they have both been really light as well, lasting three days max. iirc from having DS and DD thoughthe frst one was a bit gushy....maybe because they were CS and bumble was natural?

PinkyMinxy · 13/04/2009 20:26

Daisy hope your little girl is ok. I'll never forget DS pointing to a bottle of turps on the mantlepiece and saying 'juice' when he was around the same age (we were decorating DD1'S room at the time)it was very nearly a horrible accident.

juanitad sounds like you had a fab weekend!

We have had a really good time, despite some of the usual cr*ppy behaviour from you know who.

DD1 is absolutely shattered- just changed her into clean nappy and pjs whilst she slept, bless her! Recited goodnight moon to DS and he fel asleep. Mimi is aa bit pinky cheekedee but she has settled now.

5 I have 3 dc now, but they are very close together- DS is my eldest and will be 4 next month, whilst DD1 is coming up to 2.5. The girls will be sharing but not for a month or so yet I don't think. I have a feeling mine will be sleeping in one another's rooms quite a bit. WE have toyed with puting them all into our bedroom which is pretty big and then us moving upstairs into what is currewtly my studio. But if we are going to do that I want to put an en suite in, so we may do it later on (not too keen on giving up my studio, though).

coolkat · 13/04/2009 20:30

Oh Daisy I hope DD is ok. These little ones nothing but trouble!

Ceebee good luck with weaning tomorrow.

Sounds like you had a fab weekend Juanitad, I have had an amazing one to. I am very tired though and Becca seems unsettled. Perhaps had to many visitors etc.

5 I think I may try breakfast tomorrow as well.

I am BF Becca every 3 hours in the day still. When will this get longer? I have decided I need to start giving her one bottle a day so I will get some formula from the supermarket tomorrow as I know I can not express enough.

On the subject of periods I still have not had one, I so hope I have not just cursed myself!!

I guess you have never suffered from moths then ellielou!

ellielou02 · 13/04/2009 20:36

LOL coolkat nah I never ate the mothballs that was my little sis I just drank the brake fluid

5inthebed · 13/04/2009 20:38

Sumo will be sharing a room with DS1, as DS2 has to have his own room. He has autism and is up and down walking around his room a lot during the night, so not really a good idea for him to share with anyone. Just need Sumo to sleep through before he is evicted out of my room.

Wow Pinky, you must have your hands full with 3 lo's under 4! Mine are 5, 3 and obviously 5 months and I am constantly busy.

Good luck with breakfast tomorrow Coolkat!

PinkyMinxy · 13/04/2009 20:39

ooh re the curse. I'm a bit peeved actually, because I didn't have one til 7 months with my other two, but because I got this damned coil (which is coming out as I have 'lost' it and hate it anyway) I have been bleeding on and off since it went in grr.

Sorry for those having severe bleeding. I get menhoragia (sp) from time to time, tis horrid. Make sure you boost your iron levels if you are bleeding a lot, as it can make you anaemic, or goes with it..I can never remember which, but then I'm always anaemic .

PinkyMinxy · 13/04/2009 20:47

5 well you know it's not so bad, as DS is in preschool f/time (miss him lots though), and I enjoy having them at home. Met a lady today who was looking after two of her 13 g/children for the week. SHe had 4DC under 4 with her children, then had another 1dc 6 years later! Hence 13 grandchildren! I would really love a huge family, but not that many so close, and I don't have time on my side [old person emoticon].

Ceebee74 · 13/04/2009 20:49

Juanitad I have started a Scrabble game with you

LackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2009 20:59

DH just called. she is fine; teararsing around A&E and being a horror . Obs are fine, waiting on poison report (whatever that is) and they are keeping her in until 10 for observation.....phew ...and I'm binning the little wooden chair that I use as a stool to reach the high cupboards as that's what she was standing on to reach into the sink.

bumble is in his own room tonight!!! We have put DS1's mattress on the floor in the little room with DD and the cot in DS1's room. If all goes well we will sort out DD and DS1 bunking together for a short time until bubmle is sleeping through....fingers crossed xx (that would be crossed fingers, not kisses )

but slap on the wrist that I was too busy being pre-occupied about getting a good night's sleep that I took my eye off the ball.

welcome to the wonderful world of scrabble jaunita

Glad your DD is ok Daisy. You can breathe now. Good luck with Bumble in his own room tonight! Does he sleep through yet, or will you be able to hear him if he wakes?

Pinky, I have a large family and love it. My nanna has 7 kids, 17 grandchildren (aged from 30 to 6) and 8 great grandchildren.

If I could, I would like one more child. It would have to be adopted though as had my tubes tied after having Sumo. Long story, but was for the best.

vbab78 · 13/04/2009 21:31

lacks - Glad DD is ok. What a nightmare. Try and chill now.

SORRY ladies just cant seem to get my shit together so I can get on mumsnet. Hope everyone is ok and has had a nice Easter.

QUESTION - Anyone used to the Kalms tablets before? Just that I think they are supposed to be non drowsy but since I started taking them a couple of days ago I am getting more than the usual exhausted. Maybe just a coincidence as we have done a lot the last few days.

vbab78 · 13/04/2009 21:31

sorry shit english.

Oblomov · 13/04/2009 21:33

sorry for wierd bit at the end of my post this morning. don't know what happened there.
Daisy, glad DD is o.k.
No periods here and I am glad. When not bf, am regular as clockwork.
Pinky and 5, dh's family is huge and i love it.
We walked round virginia water lake this morning. not quite cricri's 9 miles, but nice. then pub lunch a few glasses of wine whilst sitting in the sun. lovely. weather was so nice, seeing as it has been 'spirring' ( daisy will know that as a scottish word for very light drizzle) for the last 3 days - all over our carboot stuff that we sold, I might add. then all 4 of us had a siesta for 2 hrs = lovely.
Off to bed now, am last one up, M is still feeding once in the night. god i want regular consistent sleep throughs. please god.

Oblomov · 13/04/2009 21:36

5, I am being sterilised next week. They were supposed to do it when I had my cs with ds2, but it never happened.
Do tell more what happened to you, if you don't mind. am intrigued.

ellielou02 · 13/04/2009 21:38

Hey ladies

Daisy so glad dd is ok - what a worry for you!

We are having a shite time of it here at the mo - lots of stress re:money (impending lack of) Home sickness (haven't been back for nearly 18 months) our roles in the home(guilt on both sides - is dh doing me a favour to take W out and do I owe him when he gets back - my issue here) grumpy boy (noises mainly 'nnnnngggggg' or 'eh-heh') and other stuff.
We've both been crying today but by ourselves.
Phooey
Also as I've said before W has his top and bottom teeth coming through and is now biting my nipples hard. I know it's irrational but apart from the pain I also feel pissed off that he's biting his food source after I've worked so hard to keep at it. Irrational I know.
Thank you for letting me vent
