Happy Easter Ladies!

simpson · 12/04/2009 12:07

Happy easter to everyone!!

Gingeme · 12/04/2009 16:33

Happy Easter all
Had a busy day yesterday doing Davids birthday party. The big boys were a big help. All the kids had fun and went home happy.
We went to a friends babys christening this morning. It was a realy lovely service and they had an Easter egg hunt at the end and all the kids found an egg. George slept all the way through so he was quiet and had lots of energy for the reception
We are going to the cinema tommorrow as its Davids actual birthday and he wants to see Monsters v Aliens. Can't wait.
Still havn't given out the sgg yet. I think they had plenty of choc this morning though.
Hope your all well and have eaten lots of choc xx

Happy Easter

LuckySalem · 12/04/2009 20:15

Happy Easter all - Hope you have had a great day and haven't eaten too many eggs

Feeling a little depressed but motivated at the same time.
Been walking to the local shop to get something to drink and the estate is a TIP!! There were kids chasing a dog down the street (them on bikes) there's a video tape ribbon (or about 4 of them) strewn about the place and kids standing on the side of the road swearing.
So.... When we get back from holiday I am determind to get someone to help me finish this house so that we can move out. I know now isn't a good time what with the credit crunch but I want to be able to move as soon as it starts to even out.

Anyways --- hope your all ok

simpson · 12/04/2009 21:20

Hope everyone had a good day.

Surprisingly J didn't eat that much chocolate!!
{shock]

Also surprisingly I managed to cook a roast lamb dinner with all the trimmings for 4 adults & 2 kids and not burn anything

Also managed to get the timing right so everything was ready at the same time

woo hoo!!!

LuckySalem · 12/04/2009 21:23

CONGRATS SIMPS

DP cooked us a roast so was lovely - I'd have burnt everything if I did it (although it would have been ready quicker )

simpson · 12/04/2009 21:38

LOL

I even used fresh rosemary which we have growing in garden

DD absolutely loved it.

The fridge is full of cooked lamb though as there was loads left over

I know what Molly will be eating for the next couple of days

LaTrucha · 12/04/2009 21:49

Good for you Lucky. Sorry you had a depressing shopping trip though.

Well done Simposn! Did she eat it in chunks?

simpson · 12/04/2009 22:02

LaT - she was shoveling it in using fork and hands

Meat was nice and tender so she managed it ok...

Housemum · 13/04/2009 00:23

Gingeme - sounds like you had a weekend like mine! We had DD2's party Saturday, DD2's birthday is also Monday, though her birthday "treat" will be a trip to Ikea as the kitchen light broke yesterday (have been decorating a birthday cake by the little strip light under the wall cupboards!) Oh well, at least they are giving out free ice creams to kids...

simpson · 13/04/2009 12:08

Hi all

DD seems to be having a nap at a decent time today

Unlike the last week where she is fought sleep till 4ish then slept an hour and been really grumpy till bedtime at 6/6.30.

Having a blitz on house today as its a bit of a tip

Also found out a RL friend is pg so going to sort out some clothes/toys etc (and probably bumbo) for her...

Also some of Ds's toys he doesn't play with anymore so am putting them away till DD big enough...

madmouse · 13/04/2009 12:48

Simpson I would be interested in your bumbo, just tell me how much you want for it. The one we use belongs to a friend and her own little one will need it soon. Nathan is still using it as he can only sit alone for so long. Not sure whether you can take it on the coach though but will pay p&p

Hello ladies,

Off to Essex tomorrow, so wish me luck for the solo flight with Sabela! I's so keen to go that I hadn't really though about it before. Gulp.

simpson · 13/04/2009 14:26

LaT good luck on flight. Am sure you and S will be fine though

Madmouse - its a fake bumbo. Slightly bigger than a bumbo I believe...A bebe pod actually in pale green.

Not sure if you can get trays for them though....

You are more than welcome to have it for the price of lunch on 25th

If you want it I shall bring it with me then...

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 13/04/2009 20:37

LaT - coming anywhere near me? good luck on the flight, sure you'll be ok.

Just got back from Devon, knackered!
H will NOT sleep properly in the car so is crying with tiredness and desperate to get into his own bed.
T slept for 1.5hrs in the car, was a star the rest of the time, but does NOT want to go to bed!!

He has been going to sleep later and later every day, still gets up at 6.15ish.
don't know what to do with him.

anyway, rubbish post from me, brain is fried.

back properly tomorrow

mixedmamameansbusiness · 13/04/2009 22:06

Helloo all

Hope you all had a good Easter.

MM hope that things start to even out for you now, DH hopefully being more supportive and the counsellin coming thru.

LaT - good luck for the flight.

Lucky - i know the holiday thing has been done but my pennies worth isnt worth much since I normally go to turkey and since we have a house i can wash things (or rather my lovely mum does. I did take anppies with me and they are expensive there but did have to buy some in the end, but i couldnt take a whole months supply. E was only 7 months when we went and we had no problem with heat etc and it was incredibly hot. i imagine if you are at a resort then the pool might be esier that the beach as you can just pop back to your room whenever neceesary. I am astonished about the amoutn of PJs you want to take tho honestly those things can just be washed in the sink.

Had a lovely long weekend been off since Thurs and saw a friend with a 3 year old so S enjoyed that. Fri wnt to the gym and cleaned up, Sat a friend came to give the boys some easter eggs, yesterday we took the boys swimming and S has not stopped talking about it all day today and keeps asking to go back. He is so brave jumping in and "swimming" by himself. Today my brother and my cousin came round. All in all a lvely time. Am going to the gym with DH tomorrow morning and then we have to finish his student paramedic application form.

E is starting nursery on Wedn so DH off for the week to do settling in. Very excited and hoping the nursery dont give him any reason to change his mind as i still dont thik he is convinced.

simpson · 14/04/2009 09:21

Morning all

Looks like another lovely day here weather wise

Have got a busy day today with people popping in to visit etc.

Also want to go to library and pick up some books I have ordered...

DD's temper is truly shocking these days.

In the space of 10mins this morning she has had 3 temper tantrums because whatever DS is playing with she wants. He usually gives in and gives it to her and goes off to get something else, but then she wants that too.

LaTrucha · 14/04/2009 10:39

Sounds like fun, Simpson. It is quite incredible, their force, isn't it?

Mixedmama - good liuck withthe nursery. I'm very impressed with all your gymming!

JKS - going to Essex. Any good? DD is now going to bed at about 10.30 thanks to forcible adaptation - in reponse to ~MIL sulking - to Spanish timetable. Not sleeping considerably later

Well, nervous about flight and hoping they will help me with my hand luggage on the plane. phew. Will let you know ho wit goes.

Back to Winter it looks like! 20 degrees here.

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 10:46

LaT - sunny in Essex today, not too cold don't worry! at 10.30 bedtime, that's later than me!!!

Simps - you're lucky J is so amenable, T is NOT!!!

Mixed - good on you with all the gym stuff. hope the nursery works out ok. (dh twitchy about H at nursery as he doesn't sleep properly there and he's worried about the staff ratios sometimes, but i'm sure they are fine).

Oh and H doing lots of 'walking', trying to catch some on film, to put on FB.

Lilyloo · 14/04/2009 11:48

Hey all just had to find you off to catch up

Lilyloo · 14/04/2009 11:55

ooh glad not to much to catch up on.
Sounds like you all had good easter.
We have tons of choc here as i imagine you all do.
Mty gran kindly bought them one of thos massive eggs

We ended up doing last min trip to il's. Went to the farm and the park etc.

Doing some gardening and ironing today nothing too exciting. L playing at neighbours , M in bed and H at football!!

LaT good luck with flight xxx

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 12:01

Hi Lily!

DH supposed to have today & thursday off.
Wed working.
(when most of the other mums are free too, so it was in my mind as a dh working day, maybe invite friends & toddlers round here in afternoon)

He announces that he wants to go to work thurs afternoon - coming back after bedtime of course.
(H has mmr on thurs morning too & he knows this, & he knows H reacted quickly to last lot of jabs so expecting a bad reaction to mmr)
Then not work wed.

OK, so would be U to be cross so far (even if i was a bit!).

Comes back from carwash/shopping with T to announce he's going to work (from home) now for a couple of hours. this involves him locking himself away in his office/on phone/moving paper/etc.
i say that today is meant to be a day off...oh well it's not 'work-work' it's just 'stuff that needs doing'.
i'm so he sits there for a bit till i say 'oh go on, go and do stuff in your office then'.
cue door shut, he's on the phone to work, as in 'work-work'

and T does a poo, of course, so who will do nappy? muggins that's who.
lunch time soon, who will sort that? muggins again
H not well so is asleep but if he wakes, who will deal with him? you guessed it....muggins

it's the 'abdication of responsibility' again that's peeing me off.
i have jobs i could be doing, some i can do with T about, some not.
but i don't just announce that i'm off to do them.

grr, am annoyed and upset now.
