Lilyloo · 14/04/2009 12:30

JKS no you are not bu!
Can you not go in and say at x o clock you are all going to go out somewhere seeing as today 'was' his day off ??
Or pass over the cc to him at x oclock and you go out somewhere on yuor own ??

simpson · 14/04/2009 12:38

JKS - agree with lilyloo.

Tell him he has to do boys this eve tea/bath etc to make up for it!!!

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 13:44

Heehee, glad i was not BU! (though also glad i didn't start an AIBU thread too in my haste!)

He has at least opened the door! came and had lunch with us and he's going to take T out later to wash his car (what is it with men and having the car washed???).

He knows i'm not best pleased and i didn't have to say anything which is good as i normally end up losing it and rowing!

We aren't planning on going anywhere all of us anyway as H just sleeps all the time. and he didn't get to sleep properly yesterday driving home so we are giving him free cot access all day, lol
plus he's not 'himself' today so has had some calpol too. probably just worn out, hopefully not properly ill.
(esp with mmr on thurs...)

Gingeme · 14/04/2009 13:51

Oh jks I had that feeling yesterday too. I have DH and two teenage sons here but I'm still doing bloody everything so last night it was abour 6.30 and thats usualy when I start bed time. I asked DH twice to get the pj's out asked big boys to get there pj's out so they didn't disturb the lo's later. Lo's getting tired and very ratty. ds3 was ignoring me because he was playing with his new Ben10 toys so I thought sod it, made myself a cup of tea, told everyone they can stay up all night because I was on strike and sat down on the sofa. Well I tell you everything was cleared up and lo's in bed by 7.22 and I didn't lift a finger
JKS yanbu one bit xx

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 14:04

G - i like the strike idea

mixedmamameansbusiness · 14/04/2009 14:30

JKS not unreasonable at all.

Ginge - that would never work for me, DC would fall asleep in the living room somewhere with no bath for sure and possibly still in their clothes if it is a tracksuit.

To add to this DH debate this morning we are in bed with DC who got up at 7.30 which is the latest for ages and DS1 is making some noise so DH in his wisdom tells me he i hungry ad I should go and feed him. DH NEVER does the morning occasionally he will get up with us but NEVER EVER just leaves me. I am accustomed now tho.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 14/04/2009 14:32

oh and his explanation... I go to bed earlier than him and have had more sleep - altho he forgets about the getting up to settling DS2 who is teething and his snoring that wakes me up.

Lilyloo · 14/04/2009 16:01

mmama maybe tell him he can have an early night for a change and you can stay up, he can do the morning shift then??

JKS glad you sorted it!!

Gingeme i had similair theory on Sat as i was going out in the eve. Hence thought i may have nice shower , do my nails etc etc
Left dp to do tea , bath and bed.
They were all bathed and in bed when i get home at midnight not sure what time though

simpson · 14/04/2009 17:17

Gingeme - I also like the strike idea

But TBH DH is very good in the evening with the Dcs

He is currently upstairs bathing DD while I am MNing

Put some pics on FB BTW

Gingeme · 14/04/2009 20:10

Oh I get thet to JKS. I go to bed before him, but not much, so therefor I get more sleep even though on a bad night ds5 will wake and DH snores and fidgets like mad they seem to forget all that when theyre snoring comfortably ! Plus I hear them as soon as they open there eyes in the morning.

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 20:19

Must be in a ranty mood today, sorry!

DH arranged for a guy to come round to talk about work this evening, which is bad enough. Didn't think about where he would have this meeting

he left the toys in a state and the kitchen was a bombsite but he went upstairs with T to start the bath....

(H not right at all, woke him at 6 for some tea, had none, dip in bath+screaming+calpol and back in bed before 7 )

I left DH with T doing stories came down and blitzed the toys & kitchen big time.
So he's having his meeting in the kitchen.

Now, AFAIK there is no genetic/biological reason why i should know how to load a dishwasher any better than him, right?

but hey, it's sorted now.....

simpson · 14/04/2009 20:20

Jks - don't blame you for being

Now you deserve a glass of the red stuff!!

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 20:22

What a splendid idea Simps

may have to disturb the meeting for my own health!!!

Lilyloo · 14/04/2009 20:34

Oh JKS poor you what a miserable day and poor H hope he is better soon!

Simps i just cannot get on with fb sorry! Got kind of creaped out when some people who i use to go to school with wanted to get in touch etc tbh

Ginge

Well spent good part of day in garden it is looking pretty nice at the minute. Have moved some plants etc and shrubs that had grown too big for bedding so put them in on their own.
Am now thinking of doing a veggie bed. Am looking at the gardening thread on here for inspiration. H and L very keen. L wants to do broccoli and H wants to do carrots.
M not bothered as long as she can get outside. Just got her her own pair of crocs as our garden lawn still a bit muddy so H and L always in theirs!!
Just need to get some money together

simpson · 14/04/2009 20:46

Lilyloo - Awww bless all 3 DCs in their crocs

Am planning to do some gardening in the next couple of days if the weather holds out, though not as energetic as yours!!

Just planting some seeds etc. No doubt DS will want to "help"

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 20:51

Red wine is poured!!

Lily - we need lots of time/effort in the garden too but not going to happen anytime soon. Used up all my garden enthusiasm at my parents i think.
They moved last autumn to a bungalow with a huge garden that hadn't been touched for years.
The previous owners had birds/bought plants like they were going out of fashion/etc.

We cleared loads of assorted crap, cut back bushes, carried loads of empty pots up the hill, oh yes it's all on a hill.
Plus sanded down and revarnished some old garden furniture.
Plus fixed the garage door and so on

was fun actually but hard work too.

WIll have to plan a blitz here one day.

simpson · 14/04/2009 20:59

All this talk of gardening is making me feel rather lazy

Although I did clear out 3 big black bags of clothes (mine and DD's) for charity yesterday and unknown to DS have off loaded some of his discarded toys too

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 14/04/2009 21:04

Oh well done Simps!!!

I am so torn at the mo, i want more children, want to be pg again, go through labour again, and we aren't 'finished' but...when i see/hear of other people clearing stuff out i get v !
all we ever seem to do is keep stuff, and there's one way traffic into the loft!
We need more of it boarded and maybe i wouldn't mind so much then, but at the mo it's nearly full already with my eldest at nearly 3 and a 'plan' for 2 more dcs!

If i could organise twin girls next time then the clearing out could start earlier, lol!

simpson · 14/04/2009 21:08

JKS - I have to clear some space in the loft for all the advance Xmas pressies I have bought DCs

Definately no more Dcs here.

Going to give DS's baby clothes to a RL friend of mine

And bath seat, bouncey chair, moses basket etc going to another RL friend who is pg.

Neighbours daughter announced she is pg today so she can have my maternity clothes

I think having twins would just about finish me off TBH

LuckySalem · 14/04/2009 21:15

Just quick message to say Aaliyah not well. She's hot to touch but was shivering before. Not slept today and has only just gone to bed (8:45) and she's drank only 2 cups of juice rather than her normal 4/5. Hope shes better by tomorrow.

AngeChica · 14/04/2009 21:28

lucky have you got any calprofen - it's really good for fevers.

have been reading but just too busy to post.... work, broken sleep, trying to keep DS out of way of builders etc. But.... It will pretty much all be finished by the weeken, yay! I've felt ground down by it all then realised have had no time off work since Christmas. So am going to take DS down to my mums in May for a rest cure.

DS very snotty with next round of teeth. wakes up at least once a night and will only settle if we sit quietly by cot....

Also he has suddenly started to hate his bath which is really upsetting cos he used to love it.

well love to everyone.

madmouse · 14/04/2009 21:48

Hi guys

sorry for not posting

Have so much stuff going round in my head.

Am still reading though

simpson · 15/04/2009 09:01

Morning all

DS got a friend coming round to play this morning so he is very excited!!
Hope the sick LOs ie A & H are feeling a bit better today, and slept well

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 15/04/2009 10:57

H was up from 4.40, in bed with us until 6, sleeping on and off.
Then i brought him down and waited for T to wake up - at 7.05
put H back to bed.
he's been up and down lots.

Just got back from docs, he suspects ear infection & tonsilitis
Have got prescrip but came straight home to put him to bed so will have to go and get the ABs later when DH gets back/when H next wakes up.

Poor thing, he really sobbed when the doc examined him
made me well up and i'm normally pretty tough!

Hey MadM - hope things going ok with you.

Simps - hope ds has a fun time.

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/04/2009 12:05

Morning all...

MM hope there is some sign of improvement no matter how small.

JKS and Lucky - thinking of you both.

Simps we had a friend round last week and S was so excited it was unbelieveable.

E had his first morning at nursery today with DH. DH said it went well. His key worker is the one person in the class who I have taken a dislike to as she has a very short abrupt manner, but perhaps once I get to know her it will be better.

JKS - I agree twins would prob push me over the edge also. I am planning number 3 hopefully to be conceived in the autumn hopefully Oct and that is it for us. I havent really kept much tho as I dont have anywhere to store it. My boys seem to have some keys bits and everything just gets left. Since this will be my absolutely final baby I have decided that i will be like a fist timer again and buy whatever I like and anything i feel we have missed the last two times... I am going to make the most of every moment. And at some point during mat leave S will start proper school, so for the first year I will be able to pick him up and take him myself. Am researching boys names already tho as I know if we have a boy we will have a problem again... girls we have had on standby since we starting having DC.
