We're going to buy aftersun as DP doesnt wear suncream only aftersun (dont even ask) lol

Im hoping he changes his attitude. I know its good to be aware but he takes it to a whole new level.

Lilyloo · 09/04/2009 22:50

LaT is the best person to ask ?
Nappies are pretty cheap at 9 euros so may be worth getting them there.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 22:54

hmmm 9 euros, about £7/8? Its about same price here so can cope with that if they're good ones.

Bought some from tesco the other day and they are shockingly bad. They're an own brand but not the value the next ones up, they fall down around her ankles and leak and urgh just useless.

simpson · 09/04/2009 22:59

Lucky - were they the purple ones?? I heart them, think they are fab!! Use them for J at night....

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 23:02

no blue ones, hang on they're Tesco Superfit.

Oh the package is purple if thats what you mean?

simpson · 09/04/2009 23:07

Yes they are the ones I use with J

having said that never used them with M use Aldi cheapo ones and they are fine.....

Although they didn't keep the poo in the other day.

Oh no Molly crying again...am at a loss as to what to do...

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 23:07

awww simps,

I dont know what to suggest other than taking her in with you for the night? Thats what I do with A when she's ill. Normally settles her for the rest of the night so I can get some sleep.

LuckySalem · 09/04/2009 23:09

ladies - when you got a min can you check here?

madmouse · 10/04/2009 08:56

Lucky just get it checked hun. Nathan has a lump on his bum which I got it a real state about, it was about an inch across (bit smaller now I think)and i thought it was cancer. Was checked out by paediatric surgeon and found to be fatty tissue. We joke it is where he stores his fat as he is such a skinnymalinks.

Madmouse - quick ((hugs)) from me. hope the Easter weekend gets out of the way soon so you can get DH back!

Not really meant to be MNing while at parents house but DH & my dad have popped out for papers, H is napping & T is escaping playing in the garden with Grandma

best go, shoppers back!

Housemum · 10/04/2009 13:27

OK, only skimmed, in birthday preparation mode for DD2 (6 on Monday, party tomorrow - aaaagghhh!)

Madmouse - I know you must find it hard to vent steam in RL, but is there anyone at the church you could ask to talk to dh, say you're concerned? A curate or warden or someone? So rather than you ranting about him, say you're concerned as he's withdrawing from you and not supporting you, and it might give them the chance to ask him and for him to open up?

Lucky - I'd go long sleeves to cover up, easier than panicking what bits you've missed! So long as not too hot - when we went to Malta last year, DD3 only had short sleeved stuff but I put a light cotton cardi on her (as well as the suncream - belt-and-braces approach!)

Lucky - 28 changes of clothes???? I must be a slummy mummy - I have one a day, quick rinse gets most out, only give vanilla ice cream as it's cleaner than chocolate!!! Bibs with sleeves are good.

Simpson - DD2's best friend has hyper-mobility (she actually managed to dislocate her hip once as her legs stretched so far apart in her cot, she caught one in the bars - ouch!) She didn't walk until she was about 21 months, she is fine walking/running/climbing (now age 6) but still finds trickier things like skipping hard.

Simpson - fave toys at the mo are stacking cups, stacking boxes and a bucket of stickle bricks (you might want to take out the smallest ones). A lot of the time she just empties the bricks out then puts them back in, sometimes she'll stick a couple together, also she wanders round the house gathering things in the bucket.

Housemum · 10/04/2009 13:30

Madmouse - I panicked once about a marble shaped lump on DD2 behind her ear - was just swollen lymph gland - I thought glands were bigger/more oval, didn't realise they could just swell like a round lump!

LaTrucha · 10/04/2009 14:30

Lucky - I don't remember exactly where you are going but here it is between 15-20 degrees at the moment. It is raining some days.

It usually heats right up after Holy Week, so I suggest you go on the bbc uk weather page and put in the resort or nearest town. It will give you a five-day forecast.

I can't quite tell if they're good nappies as we've had some leaks but I think it's because she's now in 9-15 kilos but is only 9 kilos. You're looking at 15-18 euros for a pack of Huggies. No Pampers here.

Ooo Sticklebricks... Now I'm excited.

Madmouse - hope you are enjoyomg Easter weekend. I love being busy busy (sometimes).

LaTrucha · 10/04/2009 14:39

Don't forget your red book! Spanish doctors REALLY like to have it (just in case).

LuckySalem · 10/04/2009 14:50

red book? Oh great something else to forget remember thanks for all this LaT. It really helps. I think I'll pack some nappies and if we run out its not too much to pay for some extras.

Gingeme · 10/04/2009 16:35

Afternoon ladies hope you are all well.
Just to let you know I may not be around much the next few days what with my big boys being here and ds3's birthday party tommorrow and a christening on Sunday and Easter and my Mum popping up at some point I'm going to be pretty busy.
So I wish you all a Happy Easter
p.s. loads of easter eggs you must eat

simpson · 10/04/2009 18:14

Hi all

Gingeme - enjoy having your big boys round

All good here, my brother took J out for the day. He has had a great time, been on a train, had mcdonalds and been bought treats etc.

I went into town with DD and DH to a bit of shopping etc.

Pity the weather was so bad.....

simpson · 10/04/2009 18:47

Forgot to say M has gone from totally refusing to let me feed her (apart from breakfast) to refusing to feed herself and only wanting totally mushed/pureed foods

Thank God I had a couple of Ellas Kitchen pouches left in cupboard

Think it is caused by teeth though

Lucky - saw vid on FB of A running around, so sweet!!!

Lilyloo · 10/04/2009 18:50

Am now at me going the other extreme and taking two items of clothing per day per person DP would definately say i take too much though lol!

We went to Grassington today. A lovely little village in Yorkshire. Managed a picnic before the showers came. Spent the afternoon dodging showers in the little craft shops and then called in the tea room for ice cream and cake
Also called in their charity shop and got two real bargains a box full of kids shoes brand new for £2 a pair.
Got M some black patent start rite ones and L some really lovely red elephontin boots with £40 price tag still on

Lucky it will be a gland , i have one on the back of my neck it never changes size. Is a hard lump.

Am now enjoying a glass of wine after dp cooked a lovely salmon dinner (no meat today) even the dc's ate it!! Must have been the fresh air!

LuckySalem · 10/04/2009 19:26

I'd prefer it to be a gland to be honest. The one DP has really hurts him and he can't take ANY pressure on his chest etc. Its bad.

Lilyloo · 10/04/2009 20:36

Mine doesn't bother me to touch it.
As mmouse says best to just go and get it checked again if only to put your mind at rest.

nicky6 · 10/04/2009 21:04

hi all fish and chips here too - even charlie who loved them. all fine here although weekend going a bit sideways we were going to gordon ramsay tomorrow but couple going with mum taken ill and was their reservation so they have rescheduled it .

anyway off now
still on double buggy hunt charlie will only be 17 mths so think buggy board bit optimistic as she cant walk more than 6 steps!! only 11.5 weeks to go. am thinking of the cosatto one behind the other as quite cheap and hope not need for too long. all advice welcome - dont want a side by side or a p and t

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 10/04/2009 21:28

hi all - not here really still.

nicky - have you pushed a p&t? give it a go, they're better than they look!
was anti them till i pushed one.

um, off to bed, g&t + wine+wine...hic

hope everyone has sunshine tomorrow - bbc says we will!

simpson · 10/04/2009 22:06

Have had a pleasing Chinese takeaway. was lovely

Nicky - I have never pushed a P&T but find doubles with tyres you have to pump up soooo much easier to push.

Also I didn't even use buggy board for DS when he was 2.5 as when i did try it he kept stepping off it while we were moving!!

Housemum · 10/04/2009 23:05

I can't believe I'm downloading Agadoo.... Finding cheesy kids' party music to shove on the iPod for tomorrow's party. Sigh...
