Lilyloo · 14/05/2009 20:56

Am keeping up but struggling to post as M still poorly and pretty much attached to me 24/7 at the moment!!

Is that impossible to do 1.5 hours from Lucky and MM ???? (You know me and geography for a summer meet up!) Have visions of toddlers at a park / picnic. Obviously a blurred idealistic one Where we all sit and chat and enjoy nice nibbles whilst they play right by us

LuckySalem · 14/05/2009 21:20

Well where we went last time (coventry - I think...lol) that was 1hr 30 mins from me so if we can come a little closer to wales that'd be good but I dont know anywhere closer to me.

simpson · 14/05/2009 21:43

LOL at ideal meet up where:

a) we have nice weather
b) we are all free on same day
c) kids behave themselves
d) we all know the way without getting lost

Well all packed here and am leaving very early tomorrow ie at 5am

So will chat when i get back!!

LuckySalem · 14/05/2009 21:53

Have a nice hol Simps!!

Gingeme · 14/05/2009 22:14

Hi ladies. Would have been here earlier but the pc doesn't like mumsnet anymore so DH worked his magic and here I am
First of all happy hols Simpson if I haven't already missed you.
I spent this morning, or atleast 3 boring hours of it, in eye casualty today. Those of you who remember George damaging my cornea around December time well Ive been getting the same scratchy feeling the past couple of days and today I woke up in agony and had a fat , red eye again. Went to my gp and she sent me straight up there. It turns out the graze isn't healed completely and my eye keeps becoming dry. Because I'm blinking more to make it wet I'm aggrivating the graze. Anyway I have some anti biotic eye drops and have to use artificial tears 3 times a day too.
Apart from that all is well

Gingeme · 15/05/2009 16:19

Have you all started another thread somewhere and not told me?

madmouse · 15/05/2009 16:50

Hi Ginge - feeling sorry for you being lonely - still at work and overtired so this is all I am afraid!

How is your eye?

OP posts:
Gingeme · 15/05/2009 18:46

Oh phew I thought I'd been abandoned.
My eye is still pretty sore and the drops are giving me a horrible taste in my mouth. Yes I know I know I put them in my eye not my mouth but its all connected sin't it?

mixedmamameansbusiness · 15/05/2009 19:29

Hi all,

Simps you have gone, but have a great holiday.

Lucky cant bear the suspense

Rubysmom is posting on FB that she is 3cm dilated but the baby is being stubborn.

Nicky - sure we can sort soemthing out. I know DS1 went into his bed at 17 months but his cot became a toddler bed. If you want Charlie to go into a double bed I reckon wait a little longer. I have a friend who only put her son into a bed fairly recently and he is the same age as DS1 (3).

JKS - as i said on FB I would be happy to meet up with you and stuff when you are down and can even keep Toccupied outside in the park... altho I can see you may not want to do that but the offer is there.

I am running my Race for Life tomorrow. Amvery nervous but hopefully will managedto jog the whole way 5k in all am beginning to think I am crazy.

EUROVISION tomorrow woo hoo.

nicky6 · 15/05/2009 19:53

no mixed mama i dont want charlie to go into a bed i want her to stay in her cot until she can climb out of it!! particualrly with new little one on the way. DH wants her to go into double divan bed with brass frame. His mum gave to him as a present 20 odd years ago - anyway I am taking things into my own hands and telling him as I am doing it - although he keeps saying no i havent agreed to that. but anyway he isnt actually kicking up that much fuss. i found this brilliant company who do really cheap storage. Also one of his friends have offered us a stokke cot mattress and bed linen for £100 and they also have the junior bed too - so have said yes to that too. So nearly sorted on that front. Otherwise we will be trying to move furniture and sort everything out once the new baby is here - my recollection is that there isnt that much time or energy for that kind of thing!!

ANyway enough rambling from me.

JKS thanks for offer but DH is going to sort out the P and T as I found a deal on internet for new one plus doubles kit lus cocoon and delivery for 299 which i think is pretty good but dh doesnt want to get so now down to him - and you have to pick your battles with these things and bed and stuff is more important if we dont get the buggy until after number 2 arrives it doesnt matter!!!

JustKeepSwimming · 15/05/2009 21:26

Nicky - no probs. mine is 'well used' shall we say so i wouldn't ask much for it!

Mixedm - thanks, but spoke to the secretary of the consultant this morning to get more info about the appointment and she said the appt will be 1.5hrs long and it's just a preliminary 'chat'....
so, given that appt is meant to be at 3.30 and i've been told they often run over time, we are going to get MIL to come back Mon/Tues so she can stay at home with T, then we can focus on H.

G - how's the eye??

All went well, the soft play was fine, quite quiet which is good for the toddlers. then we all came back here, played for a bit, had party tea, and cake, then more play, then everyone home and to bed.

knackered now, and post-wine so best not talk too much!

back tomorrow....

LuckySalem · 15/05/2009 21:54

Feeling a little sad today.... still no AF and I'm getting cramping pains like AF but have been for a coulple of days. I just wanna know but I cant get to docs till Mon at earliest so dont know whether to just use the test anyway and see what there is or just go to docs or if I even wanna go to docs in case its a BFN there as well.

Gingeme · 15/05/2009 22:14

How frustrating Lucky
My eye has been okish all day. Starting to feel sore now though but I guess its because I'm tired.
George has a new way of showing what he wants. He grabs your finger and takes you to it. Trouble is he did it at playgroup this morning and it was about a half a meter to look at a toy Discovered he likes rice today trouble is when he got fed up with it he started dropping it on the floor. Edward thought this was funny and did it too. I still keep finding bits now even though I hoovered!
Right my eyes hurting too much now so Ill bid you all a goodnight xx

LuckySalem · 15/05/2009 22:15

Oh Ginge - I hope your eye gets better soon. unMUMSnetish HUGS

LuckySalem · 16/05/2009 20:06

Oh I forgot about that Miedmama - Howd it go?!

I'm happy as we've finally managed to rehome the last kitten. He's been reserved to go to a home just up the road from us so I can visit. Just need the rescue to confirm its ok, get him neutered and recovered and he'll go. Probably about another month.

JustKeepSwimming · 17/05/2009 08:16

Morning all, have been rubbish at keeping up, sorry.

H just had another tonic-clonic seizure (convulsive) x1000000....

Was actually only really short, prob 10/15secs. in his highchair after breakfast.
has gone to bed now, prob for hours.

He is having more seizures and sleeping more, after 2 days of nothing earlier in the week i was allowing myself to be more positive about it.

thanks goodness tues isn't far away.

sorry, a down and me post but feeling c r a p about it.

will go and have a bath in a bit and cheer myself up!

LuckySalem · 17/05/2009 16:06

Oh JKS I'm sooo sorry to hear this.

Can we help you out at all? Feel free to post as much or as little as you can/need to. We're all here for you.

JustKeepSwimming · 17/05/2009 17:17

Thanks MM & Lucky

it's fine, we are fine. just got to get used to it happening really. i was fine as it was happening but cried once i cold see he was alright (which is the right way round i guess!) ut hate crying in front of people, and MIL was hovering trying to be helpful.

she has this way of looking at you, and she wants eye contact but i want to curl up and hide in those situs. so i am glad when she goes. which is mean as she's probably scared as it's her first 'seen' fit.

anyway, they have gone home for grand-daurs birthday (the ones who are emigrating in Sept to Oz) then she's coming back tomorrow to be here for Tues.

H & i will get the train in tues after lunch (DH will already be in london from monday), meet dh at the hosp, then whenever we are free to go, we will all stay in london (got my brother booked in for company as Dh will have to go back to work for a bit probably). then H & i will drive back wed morning.
then MIL can go home wed once we're back.

complicated? a bit!
anyway, dh has some work from home time coming up next week which is handy, even if he's busy, he's about.

ds1 saying he's 'zhausted' from swimming, lol, so he's got Nemo on, Dh cooking tea, ds2 still asleep....

i should do something so i can feel like i've achieved something.....

Lilyloo · 17/05/2009 20:19

JKS it must be really hard to get used to ?
I cannot believe you can even stay calm whilst it's happening in such a short time since this all came to light!
Hope Tuesday gives you more answers , sounds like you got everything organised.
