Morning all...

Hope everyone is feeling a little better today.

Lily - not sure about the job I get on very very well with the ladies who interviewed but the job is about attention to detail and grammar etc and whilst I am ok at these things I got one question wrong on the grammar test and I knwo one candidate got them all right and since this is an important part I expect that even if I am the best fit they may go with her. I am happy where I am anyway, but this job is two roads away from me and takes about 45 secs.

Did anyone other than Ange watch Eurovision last night... I am supporting obv Turkey and Armenia at the moment.

I have a free belly dance lesson tonight in my local library as part of adult learners week, very excited.

S and E both got awful colds and coughs, but seem to be their usual happy selves.

Would the prospect of a summer meet up cheer anyone up or is it just too much right now?

Am going back to WW as I just do not have the necessary will power to do it by myself. Ginge if the docs can refer your dad that would be great it is really easy and I dont feel deprived. Also, I am not a gym person but actually quite enjoy going you might be surprised. I just read on the bike.

LuckySalem · 13/05/2009 09:38

I like the idea of a meetup!!

could do with it being a little closer this time though as the driving did me in last time. No idea why as I normally like driving long distances - I think its cos aaliyah was awake and not happy.

simpson · 13/05/2009 10:57

Morning all

Ok everyone is ok?

Lucky - hope you are ok? If AF still not here in a few days, I would test again....

Could you have oved late?

Madmouse - hope you are ok? Sorry I disappeared yesterday.

By the time I could get back on computer, you had gone....

Idea of summer meet up good

JKS - Ihope you hear soon (good news obv.)

I have already started to buy his school uniform

Gingeme - good luck at leisure centre today.

Well breakfast choice ATM seems to be chopped up banana, malties soaked in a little neocate & fruitapura pot... till she gets bored of this too

Lilyloo · 13/05/2009 11:04

morning all
yawwwn M woke up at 11 last night whimpering she had raging fever , horrible cough and cold. Was about 4 am when she finally settled lay on top of me. After vomiting all over our bed and hers She back in bed with dp who has had to take day off as he started with it about 5 am this morning am shattereed and have really busy day. L has dancing , H has his first friendly football match at 6 and i have to be at L school for 7 !!

Meet up sounds good what about Wales way ?? Not sure how that lies for you all , thinking maybe Lat can come too ????

Lucky sorry it wasn't what you hoped for x

Well best go and get all this bedding hung out!!

mixedmamameansbusiness · 13/05/2009 13:17

I would love to come Wales way but I dont think that will be doable for me at the minute, but perhaps if dates fit who knows.

Maybe we should have simultaneous South End and Wales meet up.

I think there is a good number that could probably get to each.

It would be a shame to not all meet you all again, but I seruiously doubt I could get there what with holidays and stuff coming up.

madmouse · 13/05/2009 14:52

At the moment my concentration is such that I cannot drive on my own for more than about 1.5 hours each way. I would happily take the train to Wales but it takes forever - Bedworth-Coventry-Birmingham-train into Wales that always gets cancelled

But would l-o-v-e to finally meet LaT in person plus it would be good for Lucky.

Dear me...

Just got back from after school club with Dcs and DD would not let me do a thing with J

Even the woman running the club said DD was spirited

Her new thing from today is to shout at me like she is telling me off. Driving me insane...

If I had a penny for every time M has shouted "mummy" really crossly at me, I would be a millionaire.

Sometimes i just find her such hard work and poor J was so good waiting for me to do painting with him and I couldn't because M was kicking off.

LuckySalem · 13/05/2009 17:05

No no, Not all the way to Wales - just a little closer. If we can make it so I only have to drive an hour that'd be fine. I think last time it was 1hr 40 (minus the 15 mins it took me to find the place!! lol)

TMI ALERT
While I was on holiday on the Monday before I came home (so the 4th) I had a little blood but it was literally only what I wiped nothing more. I assumed it was start of AF but nothing more at all, then I assumed it was implantation but I dont know. Just looked at my test and there is a faint extra line there but I know I should ignore it as more than 15 mins had elapsed.

Simps - J is probably getting his own back. lol.

LuckySalem · 13/05/2009 17:08

Simps - Sorry to hear about M. You have my complete sympathies. Oh and we get the shouting at thing too, although it just sounds like shes kinda growling at you... lol

simpson · 13/05/2009 17:28

When did you do test?

I would do it first thing in the morning?

LuckySalem · 13/05/2009 17:31

First thing this morning.

simpson · 13/05/2009 17:44

yes i would ignore line after this time...

do you know exactly how late you are??

If implantation was the 4th, not sure if it would show yet....

LuckySalem · 13/05/2009 17:53

Well I'm on day 43 now and last month my cycle was 31 days long but I dont know if thats the norm?

simpson · 13/05/2009 18:13

Personally i'd leave it a few more day then test again.

It really depends on when you ov'ed, I think...

well, M in bed now

LuckySalem · 13/05/2009 18:15

Glad you've got some peace! Just making dinner now for us - Pie, chips and sweetcorn.

I'm gonna test next week if nothing which will put me around 4 weeks overdue (as I think i'm around 3 now) and then if still nothing then I'll pop to docs.

nicky6 · 13/05/2009 19:37

hi all well promises to say proper hi today is going to fail as I went to bed not feeling great and woke up feeling much worse swollen glands aching neck really tired etc. so spent most of day asleep. what can i take apart from paracetomol? I live in dulwich and there has been swine flu cases around here i was going to ring doctors just to be on safe side but dh thinks not unwell enough to be swine flu he is probably right.

Big debates here include can we put charlie straight into a double bed with brass frame - me No absolutely not, and do we need a double buggy - me absolutely yes.

charlie lovely talking all the time and saying little sentences very funny, now has 4 teeth and has just started walking around on her own this week.

JKs hope you get news soon.

mixed mama hope they give you job anyway sounds very convenient.

would love to do meet up I am in se21. but will have to be before 2/7 or quite a bit later as I think i might need a few weeks /months/years to adjsut to 2 little ones.

must go as very tired

JustKeepSwimming · 13/05/2009 19:52

oops, fallen behind again!

Nicky - i am in London every now and then and we really could come to a deal re the P&T.
hope you feel better soon. dunno what the symptoms of SF are meant to be, there's not much you can take, true. i resorted to calpol when pg & bf!
headaches - the 4head stuff is fab though if you get them.

Lucky - sorry the test showed negative. def wait a few more days then test again. or...if it were me, go mad buy hundreds and test every morning, lol!

Simps - you doing ok???

um, got some work to do tonight, just stuffing some envelopes, means i can be more relaxed on mondays as i'm 'above' my hours.
had fish finger sandwich for tea with the boys, yum! so just having wine now and maybe Phish Food ice-cream later...

Dh home late, he's still upset about H i think, and stressed with work so needs some sympathy when he gets back. but he still says he will get up first tomorrow

right, back to envelopes!

JustKeepSwimming · 13/05/2009 19:59

Oh forgot to say...

saw NO absences today

doesn't mean they didn't happen of course but still.....

LuckySalem · 13/05/2009 22:25

Thats good JKS. :D

simpson · 14/05/2009 10:28

the shouting at me is continuing today...

I was hoping she had forgotten about it.

Going to me a loooong day, methinks.

Good news is DD's dietician has rung this morning and basically agrees with everything I say.

On the milk front she said it is very common the LOs M's age who are not babies but not quite toddlers to cut down on milk as they don't want the bottle any more.

so plan of action is to give her a calcium supplement which I will pick up from GP after Poland.

At least that way I don't have to stress about her milk intake. Yesterday all she took was 6ozs and she needs to be having as near to 20 as possible.

madmouse · 14/05/2009 11:35

Simpson booh at M still shouting at you pleased at common sense of dietician. Just what we talked about yesterday - 20oz is a lot for a toddler who prefers eating!

Lucky hope the suspense ends soon one way or another.

Nicky hope you are feeling better soon - feeling yuck when pregnant is double yuck.

JKS hope you hear something today

Ginge how did gym go? Am a great believer in finding some excercise you enjoy rather than gym, which is why I cycle and walk whenever I can and I run. Treadmills just don't do it for me.

NHS Mental Health have listened to dh and I have an assessment appointment a week today . Muttered something about not wanting to go now to friend who said he would take a holiday to take me there personally by the scruff of my neck . I said that sounds like a threat - he said no it is a promise...Will go - of course - but it all feels like a bad idea now

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 14/05/2009 12:12

Simps at M shouting at you but at the dietician listening!!

MM - Dont wibble you'll be fine and just think of it as your road to recovery.

Nicky - Illness and pregnant!! YUCK. Hope you feel better soon.

JKS - Hows things today?

Still no period here. If I ov'd late then i'm not pregnant but 44 day cycle?

JustKeepSwimming · 14/05/2009 17:58

Simpson - glad dietician talking sense
(when are you off to Poland?)

Lucky - any sign of AF yet??

Well, i decided to ring the local hosp to see if any news, when i checked my landline messages and there was one (only from today, pre-sch pick-up time) from GOSH with an appt for next tues afternoon.
& all at the same time....

Have to figure out what we'll do with T, and get some tips re travel to and from GOSH (sounds stupid but i don't even know where Great Ormond St is!), how long the appt will be, etc.
(wonder if i can persuade PIL to stay on after weekend....)

It's at the epilepsy clinic so guess that's a sign that they are sure that's what it is...

No absences seen today

LuckySalem · 14/05/2009 18:35

Is it possible for him to have just had a few and "grown out of it now" JKS? I have no idea if that makes sense or is possible.
Good that he's got an apt quickly(ish)

no, no AF - feel crampy but no sign of it.

LuckySalem · 14/05/2009 18:47

Well I've had the potty out today for her to play with and we had 1 wee wee in the potty and LOADS on the carpet!! lol. Dollies and Teddy have had loads in there though
