Madmouse - hope you're ok???
Simps - yey for M
Lily - yes whatever did happen about the footie? hope no melt down so far.
Hi everyone else - sorry been really remiss recently, all me me me. hopefully things will calm down from now on
MRI went fine thanks, he was liveliest after they gave him the sedation but eventually slept.
Dr was a star and looked at asap - he's not a specialist and has spoken to the specialist in london already.
they all agree that H should start on meds ASAP (tonight) and were v uncomfortable not having him on something - even if it turns out to have to be changed in the future.
so we agreed with them - DH just collecting the Epilim now so he can have a dose from tonight - will be a small one to build up to the minimum to see if that stops the fits.
They saw an area of 'high spot activity' wich could be a 'growth' (ie tumour) or not (ie some other brian injury/lesion/from birth thing). they can't tell. they hope the specialist will be able to tell.
GOSH will review his case on Tues when they have a weekly review of referrals so we should hear back from them after that.
so, we are 99% sure it's Epilepsy and will treat accordingly. now we just have to work on the doses and get him up to speed with that and keep an eye for any reactions.
continue the seizure diary (they were very pleased with my efforts so far).
we also had Basic Life Support training - to resus. H if his fits caused him to stop breathing.
at this point Dh had to leave the room for a cry it was v hard practicing on a dummy knowing that it's meant to be H.
we are also getting some other drug (name escapes me) that we can give if he has a long fit to stop it - although they accept that we will most likely be phoning 99 for the forseeable future until we are 'used to' fits.
think that's it. H having tea, T had is at nursery, best go - H demanding MORE!
