yawn here too JKS

Following all the talking last night it took me hours to get to sleep and I got up at 6 as I have some urgent work to do before my client comes at 10 and once the rest of the team comes in at 9 I usually get no peace to do any serious legal drafting.

Reckon I had about 4.5 hours...

LOL at MIL under patio

Only 2 hrs then freedom

JustKeepSwimming · 06/05/2009 11:35

Only about an hour to go, yey

MM - it's so frustrating isn't it, lying there, knowing you should sleep, you will be tired, but staying awake all the same. grr.

hope i sleep better tonight - if dh wakes me again there will be trouble

simpson · 06/05/2009 12:11

She is gone

madmouse · 06/05/2009 12:13

JKS the early starts not changing then ? Is it T waking H or H waking T ?
We are really lucky with M tbh. I cannot believe her sleep was so poor for so long. She now does 7-4 (quick glug of milk) then 7.30-8! Seems ages ago we were up all night with her. L has always been a good 12 hours+ and i think my little boy is growing up. He has always been an early riser but now he is staying up later in bed (reading) and lies in until 7.30 - 8 too so getting a good lot of sleep here. Finally everyones body clock seems in sync . Although isn't this usually when someone gets ill or needs an injection
I guess you don't really have any info to tell friends etc about H until you know all the info yourself.

Simps yay

MM you seem to have a lot of lovely friends , your very lucky. I have one really close friend and then a few from work but we are inevitably drifting now i have left!

Will have to dig video out , we haven't had any of M for ages!

simpson · 06/05/2009 15:00

madmouse - you will not believe what happened yesterday...

DH and my dad went out to watch footie as I wanted to watch a tv programme and DH said there was half a bottle of wine corked in cupboard (red) if I wanted a glass so while they were out I had one (MIL had gin ) and I swear someone had watered it down...ie helped themselves and topped it up with water

Could only been MIL as DH doesn't drink when on meds and when he is off meds (which he isn't ATM) he wouldn't bother to top it up with water iyswim!!

madmouse · 06/05/2009 16:22

Simpson {shock] another reason not ot invite her again!

Lily - You are right I am lucky. Apart from some wonderful mn friends who often listen to me waffle on on FB I have four lovely real life friends - two couples. They are always there for me and importantly don't wait for me to ask for help which I am lousy at. My friend yessterday dropped me off home then simply said 'I think it is time we have a chat again isn't it' and stayed two hours. Feel blessed.

Especially as dh just does not seem to 'get' that I need more than half an hour of him at a time to talk about the things that realy need talking about but that hurt to talk about.

Oh well enough moaning. Just had Nathan measured for little boots at the hospital, will have them in a few weeks!

Lucky coming home tomorrow - have been missing her!! Hope she has been having fun!

OP posts:
JustKeepSwimming · 06/05/2009 20:28

Simps - hooray for her being gone
can't believe anyone would do that!?!

Lily - H waking T at the mo. He wakes up coughing and i can leave him for a bit but eventually he gest cross so i have to go in. i know as soon as i open the door, T will wake up, though he sleeps through all of H's noise
Lucky all of you being in synch (for now!)

Madmouse - hope she has had fun.
what are the boots for?

nice day today, got lots done/sorted out and managed chilled white wine in the garden while the boys had their tea

madmouse · 06/05/2009 21:13

Simpson has the celebratory wine got the better of you?

OP posts:
simpson · 06/05/2009 21:30

Madmouse LOL no just enjoying the peace and quiet in house now I don't have to listen to MIL's constant droning...

JKS - hope you are having a relaxing evening too

Oooh so Lucky is back tomorrow!! Hope she has enjoyed herself and has loads of pics...

JustKeepSwimming · 06/05/2009 21:35

Hey Simps - glad you're ok and enjoying the peace.
(please somebody remind me of all these MIL horror stories when i am one! hope i'm liked by DILs in the future!!!)

did i say that insurance is paying for a new laptop for me? yeyeyeyeyeyeyey!!

they will send me a new Macbook Air to replace mine and vouchers to spend at PC world instead of buying a new cheap one to replace my old one.
(feels a bit cheeky really - i never would have got £300 for it if i'd sold it )
not sure i need anything from pc world for 300quid but may try and see if anyone is about to spend that and swap for cash instead - will see if they come with my name on.
(know my mum wants to buy a new laptop for herself).

so today:

  • insurance approved, new laptop on way
  • alarm deposit paid, fitting booked for 2 weeks
  • 'tv' chair for H arrived (H has claimed it but doesn't matter, there are 2 chairs and 2 boys!)
  • first 'ingredients' for birthday cake for T arrived with online shop
  • friends round for big catch up
  • lots of laundry done
  • some work stuff sorted out
and lots more, phew!

JustKeepSwimming · 07/05/2009 17:24

Madmouse - hope you're ok???

Simps - yey for M

Lily - yes whatever did happen about the footie? hope no melt down so far.

Hi everyone else - sorry been really remiss recently, all me me me. hopefully things will calm down from now on

MRI went fine thanks, he was liveliest after they gave him the sedation but eventually slept.
Dr was a star and looked at asap - he's not a specialist and has spoken to the specialist in london already.
they all agree that H should start on meds ASAP (tonight) and were v uncomfortable not having him on something - even if it turns out to have to be changed in the future.
so we agreed with them - DH just collecting the Epilim now so he can have a dose from tonight - will be a small one to build up to the minimum to see if that stops the fits.

They saw an area of 'high spot activity' wich could be a 'growth' (ie tumour) or not (ie some other brian injury/lesion/from birth thing). they can't tell. they hope the specialist will be able to tell.

GOSH will review his case on Tues when they have a weekly review of referrals so we should hear back from them after that.

so, we are 99% sure it's Epilepsy and will treat accordingly. now we just have to work on the doses and get him up to speed with that and keep an eye for any reactions.
continue the seizure diary (they were very pleased with my efforts so far).
we also had Basic Life Support training - to resus. H if his fits caused him to stop breathing.
at this point Dh had to leave the room for a cry it was v hard practicing on a dummy knowing that it's meant to be H.
we are also getting some other drug (name escapes me) that we can give if he has a long fit to stop it - although they accept that we will most likely be phoning 99 for the forseeable future until we are 'used to' fits.

think that's it. H having tea, T had is at nursery, best go - H demanding MORE!

madmouse · 07/05/2009 17:47

JKS you need a big hug, a bar of chocolate and a glas of wine

I remember losing it when doing infant life support practice while Nathan in the room with us poor dh

worried about bright spot - hope clarity soon.

did you get midazolam as emergency meds?

hope epilim will work well

OP posts:
madmouse · 07/05/2009 17:48

looks like you may be heading for a ct scan too if they cannot work out what it is.
