Yay for Nathan's tooth...

M's 7th came through last week. She has gone from having none to 7 very quickly

JKS - she is here till next Wed. Trying to put travel cot up in J's room so she can have M's room but the bloomin' thing won't go up

simpson · 30/04/2009 12:15

Just telling madmouse on FB J's funny thing he said yesterday...

He got stung by a stinging nettle and said "mummy that leaf bit me!!"

Given up on travel cot and now taking M's cot apart to fit it through bedroom door

Lilyloo · 30/04/2009 12:51

JKS glad you had a restful night last night fingers crossed that life back to normal for you now!!

M has just squeezed a whole tube of H and L pink toothpaste all over the cream landing carpet , her clothes , H bed and the landing walls and in her mouth whilst i had a shower

JustKeepSwimming · 30/04/2009 14:18

Sorry PMSL Lily - what fun cleaning that lot up!

Simps - she will sleep better in her normal cot i should think anyway. pain though.

sun shining, MIL entertaining T in the garden, washing going, H sleeping, (FIL sleeping in front of war tv now ), i must get off here and get on with jobs.

life is calm - let's keep it this way ok?

simpson · 30/04/2009 14:23

Ok have taken M's cot apart, now we can't get it back together again

And I have got travel cot up finally so looks like she is in there and I have 6 days to worry about M's cot...

DH just rung...plane landed

Sorry lilyloo did LOL!! Hope you manage to get it all out!!

Gingeme · 30/04/2009 15:55

Afternoon ladies.
Just quickly to say I have put our family portrait pics on here now. And Facebook for those who have it.
Glad things are peaceful now JKS
All the best with the MIL and the travel cot Simpson.
Wow Nathans realy getting on with his teething now Madmouse. Well done him.
Pink on cream Lillyloo mmm don't envy you clearing that up. Bet it smells minty freash though
Nothing much to report here today realy. Just the bloody work men drilling again next door so the boys had a very short afternoon nap
On the plus side I'm going to the pub for a drink with my Dad tonight

simpson · 30/04/2009 18:02

OK MIL is here and fretting because M not happy about sleeping in a strange room!!

LaTrucha · 30/04/2009 18:48

breathing for you!

Lilyloo · 30/04/2009 19:38

Simps lets hope that today is not the start of things to come

Gingeme they are georgeous!! Would love some done of the kids but they are sooo expensive! Worth it though, my dad has some of me my mum, him and my 3 sis when we were younger and they have real sentimental value now!

JKS glad things are relatively peaceful in your household today!

Well H bed stripped , the walls washed, M clothes in wash but the carpet still has pink tinge to it Have vaxed it even but no joy! LOL Gingeme at the minty fresh smell! M is now being put in her cot whilst i shower from here on in!

simpson · 30/04/2009 19:39

LaT - thanks

They (MIL & DH) have gone round to the chippie...

She keeps saying DH looks tired and DH keeps having to go and lie down, think its because she doesn't stop talking so is exhausting him iyswim.

But he is coping well

Also she keeps taking J's toys and saying "Ooh this is nice I might take it home with me!" so he is getting upset. Grrr...

And I can't even have a glass of wine

Lilyloo · 30/04/2009 19:39

DP just weighed himself 4lb off since Monday , i am waiting until next week when i go to weigh in!

JustKeepSwimming · 30/04/2009 21:18

Lily - that's lots v quickly!

Simps - why can't you have some wine??? the wine & chocolate plan working for me at the mo
hope M sleeps ok.
why is she saying that about J's toys?

G - love the photos

think i have put a video of H walking on FB for those on there.

yummy dinner by MIL, caht with friend on phone, finishing wine, some MN time, then to bed.

(haven't got far with researching alarms or much about epilepsy at all yet, maybe tomorrow...)

nicky6 · 30/04/2009 22:00

jks read your post poor you thinking of you x

Housemum · 30/04/2009 23:59

Just popping on to get this back on my threads-I'm-on.

JKS - hopefully H's fits are just a reaction to an infection - and you may not get an answer straight away as epilepsy can be v hard to diagnose, it doesn't always leave anything that you can track after the event on an EEG, but the EEG will rule out any more serious problems. If it does turn out to be that, one thing I have been told by the doctor is that epilepsy that starts in childhood can be "outgrown" if not linked to any other conditions. DD1 had her first seizure aged 11, so he says she is statistically unlikely to outgrow it. She's been on tablets for 3 years now, since she was 13, and as she hasn't had a fit for 18 mths he will start to reduce the dosage after her GCSE's to see if she is still susceptible. Don't know what you have heard about side-effects of the meds (I'm not googling!) but DD1 hasn't had any problems. The only thing I would say is that her memory is not brilliant (eg I ask her to do something and she forgets 30 seconds later) but that could be more down to her age and the fact that she is welded to her iPod than the tablets!

simpson · 01/05/2009 09:32

Morning all!!

DD has woken up to greet me with the most vile poo ever baby grow and vest in bin and her bum is red raw

JKS - No booze as then MIL would drink and DH can't handle her when she is pissed as she starts to talk all sorts of crap.

Having said that she talks crap anyway and the latest is DH going to Ireland while I am in Poland and taking J over by himself but luckily he is adamant he doesn't want to go

DH's cousin sent over £20 for kids which was sweet of him and my aunt gave another £20 a couple of weeks ago (which is in my sock drawer ) so last night I ordered a toy slide from argos. J is most pleased...so we have to get that today at some point...

Oh JKS forgot to say saw vid of H yesterday, sooo cute

JustKeepSwimming · 01/05/2009 11:39

Simps - think you need to get a secret stash of something in your wardrobe - keep going in for a quick glug
has MIL let M have anything she shouldn't?

Housemum - thanks. the main side-effect thing is i watched this awful film with an epileptic boy in and he really suffered with the drugs, they wiped him out and he was near death (Do No Harm i think it was called - don't watch it! - though it does have a happy ending)
So pleased to hear that your dd1 doesn't suffer like that - gives me hope. and also that he might grow out of it.
does she think anything about being an 'epileptic' or doesn't it bother her?

Nicky - thanks

Well, all moving quickly here now, DH rang the hosp this morning, then a letter arrived with an eeg appt for 11th may, then i went to the GP with H just now, got back to a phone call from hosp, they have an appt at 2pm today

so going in later for his eeg - will have to start a thread on here about advice as they won't sedate him 1st time round but they want him to be still

sorry, all me me again.

lovely sunshine, washing hung out, all peaceful for now

simpson · 01/05/2009 12:00

JKS - good luck today!!

Have seen that film too on the true movie channel I think...

How is H going to keep still?

LOL at wine in wardrobe!! I think in another couple of days I will be considering it

Housemum · 01/05/2009 12:41

JKS - hope all goes well today. DD1 is fine about epilepsy - she quite openly mentions it. At first a few people at school made comments, apparently, but she has a good group of friends that stuck up for her and she shrugged it off. I suppose it depends on how often it happens - she has had 3 at school, and a couple of times since being on the medication she has felt "odd" and asked to go to the medical room. She very much has a definite trigger, though - for her it is old "fat" monitors. She's fine with flat screens and televisions.

Gingeme · 01/05/2009 12:57

Afternoon ladies.
Good luck with keeping H still later. Would like to be a fly on the wall for that one.
Oh Simpson poor you. Poor dd too. Sore bum not good poor love. Keep in there with the MIL your doing great
Bit fuzzy headed today. I went to a pub with my Dad and uncle last night. My cousin came too who I havn't seen in ages. We all had a curry and a drink, I had 4 glasses of wine in total. For someone who doesn't drink thats quite alot for me! Plus I had to get 2 buses home. I had great fun but am paying for it today I know I know I'm a light weight.
We are going to Haven on Monday for 4 days. The Hastings one again. Realy looking forward to the break I can tell you.
Well I'm off to put some more washing on before I start packing.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone

LaTrucha · 01/05/2009 13:24

Lucky you gingeme!

JKS - glad you got a prompt appointment. Hope it is helpful.

Simpson - hang on in there. I'm thinking of you!

Lily - your Welsh trip made me feel quite homesick. Have you looked on the internet for tootpaste removal tips? What a nightmare!

Madmouse - you finished all the silly professional development stuff yet? I loathe it. You probably loathe it more right now!

Nicky - How are you feeling now? So excited!

Housemum- hi - nice to hear from you.

Well, absolutely shattered here. These incisors are taking forever to come through! but it is a momentous day here as Sabela has had her first haircut! I went to get mine done and was chatting to the hairdresser about Sabela and saying I didn't know what to do with her hair. So she cut it there and then! Just the wisps off the back, but it does look nice and neat!

She also stood voluntarily for the first time today. Usually we hold her while she balances herself and then let go and she stands for a long time if she feels like it and for a littel if she doesn't. Today, I balanced her with her back to the sofa and she stood up and took her hands off. I don't think she even realised what she was doing until we all started making noises!

She's sleeping now. Why on earth aren't I?

Gingeme · 01/05/2009 15:53

Clever girl Sabela x

JustKeepSwimming · 01/05/2009 17:43

Well done Sabela

Well, he didn't have to stay perfectly still so it was fine.

we were told that no-one would be able to look at it until next week but then got a phone call at 4.45 asking us to come in tomorrow (1pm) to discuss it

am upset but trying to be calm, at least we might know something but i also feel like life might not be quite the same again once we know something IYKWIM?

DH is being all blokey and pragmatic, 'best we know' and 'nothing we can do to change it now' type comments.

which are true i know but still....

simpson · 01/05/2009 18:50

JKS - so glad H didn't have to lie still.

It could mean anything that you have to go in tomorrow ie that nothing is wrong and they want to put you out of your misery iyswim

Keep us posted...will be thinking of you tomorrow...

M not well She has been vomiting today since coming back from creche.

She had done 4 poos by 10am this morning and her bum was red raw (but not unusual iyswim) then on the way back from class (last one ) she chucked up all over herself and the puke (sorry TMI) just kept coming and coming.

She was totally panicking and I couldn't get her out of buggy fast enough.

Then once home she chucked up again & again. Our whole house stinks of sick!!

She did perk up and have half a rich tea biscuit and some water before bed. Fingers X she is ok to go to see my Gran tomorrow but if she is unwell I will stay behind as I don't want my 90yr old Gran to be ill.

Anyway the good news of the day is that it was the last one of my positive steps class today so was feeling a bit gutted I will have nothing to do on Fridays but we are all going to a keep fit class from next wk which has a creche (run by same woman who has them at the creche they were at today)so should be a good laugh

madmouse · 01/05/2009 19:51

Hi all

Simpson poor Molly hope it was just something she ate and it is now out of her system, sick Molly = last thing you need right now!

JKS glad the EEG is done and that it went well. Was gping to tell you try to get H to nap should not be a problem with his amount of napping, but glad it went well. Hope they have good news tomorrow.

LaT hope you are ok, can tell from your posts that you are around just not posting much, which means you are probably struggling. Keep talking.

Hello to everyone else.

OP posts:
Gingeme · 01/05/2009 19:53

Wow JKS that is a quick result. Hope all is well tommorrow. I expect it will be though. Good luck
Oh Simpson poor love. I bet she was realy frightened. Do they give her anything to eat at the creche? Maybe an allergic reaction to something? I should realy get motivated to doing something about my weight and soon. I'll look into joining a gym when I come back off my hols next week. Im getting bigger I know because my clothes are getting a bit tight now can't be doing with putting on more weight .
