Dooby, hope something comes up soon. I think my DH would make a great lecturer too.

Older girls being a pain and DH out

Doobydoo · 13/03/2009 20:50

Thanks ladiesThing is dp and I been out of NHS for 10,years and it seems to have changed alot. The job was pants pay for 1st couple years then gets better...but complicated to explain. He is over qualified in some ways and not in others. He could get a job with same title in different speciality prob no difficulty but it is the area that is important as we moving to Lincolnshire so Notts, etc.Our plan was for me to do return to nursing which if I get on starts sept and finishes dec..but dp felt he had to apply for this job as in area we going to.and he felt positive after..which he never has done before. It will be a struggle till I get back to nursing but I think worth it in long run.I feel excited about neonatal nursing which is what I wanted to do before I even began nursing[specialise in]
Anyway sorry for epic.
SOL wHY WAS TEA A NIGHT MARE?

oooggs · 13/03/2009 21:10

my Dad is a lecturer

Dooby - hope something comes up soon

sol - feeling better?

Productive day here with the decorating - all starting to take shape at last - would like my bedroom back (from ds1 not ds3!)

Sexonlegs · 13/03/2009 21:49

Evening

Feeling much better thanks Oooggs Just tired now - although nowhere near as tired as you I imagine!

Dooby, tea was a nightmare, as the friend B had back is quite like B and they just egg each other on. They are highly competitive and have a love/hate relationship. We went to the park after school, and when we got back to the car, they were fighting over who sat in what seat - they were the same ffs. They ended up bashing heads as they tried to leap in to the same seat.

We got home, and they were taunting K - really nasty. And they jumped up and down on B's bed and broke it - the wood has a huge crack in it - dh not pleased.

So, just very stressful really.

Hey ho, it's the weekend now - dh is out bloody cycling. He either cycles or runs every day. I think he is becoming a bit obsessive!

StealthPolarBear · 14/03/2009 07:16

Morning everyone
That sounds like a nightmare SOL!
Glad the house is coming on oooggs

CaptainDippy · 14/03/2009 08:31

Bet he looks quite fit though SOL

My DH is an analyst for the Police. He trained to be a teacher in the 1st instance, but couldn't hack it (don't blame him - secondary maths!!) He's fantastic at imparting knowledge and I think Uni lecturing would suit him to a tee; particularly as he is rather excentric too

Sexonlegs · 14/03/2009 09:11

Dippy He does have amazing legs and a peachy ar*e it has to be said!x

MJreturns · 14/03/2009 16:32

Hi all.

Dooby, sorry to hear about dp not getting the job. Hope he finds something even better soon
WRT you and nursing, could you do some agency work for a while at the same time as the return to nursing course. I know you would have to work as a HCA initially, but agency pay is pretty good (better than NHS pay that's for sure!).

SOL, any reply from your email? Hope you can sort out work soon

Elkie, lovely to hear that C is doing well, well done you!

Ok, off now to sort tea for the dc's xx

StealthPolarBear · 14/03/2009 21:16

Hi everyone
Just popping in, off to bed
Night x

MJreturns · 15/03/2009 09:53

Where is everyone?!

Doobydoo · 15/03/2009 17:24

Good idea Mj thankyou.
SOL that does sound exhausting...annoying too when you are trying to do the mum thing.
Dippy that sounds an interesting job your dp has.
Hope alls well.xxxxxxxxx

Doobydoo · 15/03/2009 17:25

SOL...Meant your dd's friend and tea...not your dh's exercising!

Sexonlegs · 15/03/2009 18:23

Evening all.

MJ, no news from the School, so I can only assume the person they offered it to after I declined it, has taken it. Tbh, having talked again with dh, I have done the right thing.

Dooby, knew what you meant It was exhausting and also just not an enjoyable afternoon. They also threw a pair of B's knickers out of the window, and kicked the side of my car and there are now a few little dents in it. I am so peed off. B is no angel, but she would never dream of doing these things without being egged on.

Anyway, hope everyone is ok. So quiet on here atm.

We were away yet again this weekend. We went to a friend's 40th in Hertfordshire which was a laugh, but after a late night and a shared room with the girls, am absolutely knackered!!

Right, bath time [hurrah!!!]

leakyR · 15/03/2009 20:40

Hello

Had a nice weekend but I am knackered and my back is throbbing. Dh has been in bed since 8pm.

As a family we've done a ton of much needed housework, shopping (market supermarket andB&Q), a trip to the park, worked in the garden (and played too). This morning a friend and her soon to be one year old ds visited from Leeds.

G has a rotten cold and has been off his food and quite whingy and clingy some of the time. He is in good spirits and quite himself most of the time but I do hope he gets over it soon. He is quite exhausting when he is off colour.

StealthPolarBear · 15/03/2009 21:07

hi everyone

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2009 21:09

Hello! DH is trying to get me to post "I am an octopus" Anyway, hope everyone's had a good w/e; ours has been ok; but I am shattered from getting woken up at 5.30am by DD1 Bleurgh! Night all!

CaptainDippy · 15/03/2009 21:09

Hello SPB!

StealthPolarBear · 15/03/2009 21:24

are you an octopus?

StealthPolarBear · 16/03/2009 08:46

morning all
where is everyone
I am off for most of this week - don't all vanish on me now!

MJreturns · 16/03/2009 09:57

Hello! I am here in body, but don't expect my brain to function too well today.
I worked a night shift last night (my first for the agency). I got home at 7am this morning, and won't be going to bed until tonight
I just have to keep telling myself it is worth it for the money. It really is and I will be glad next week when I get paid, but today I am exhausted!

SPB, hope you are well. Nice that you have a week off, any chance of some time to yourself to relax a little bit?

SOL, glad you have things sorted now. Bit crap of them not to bother to reply though, you would think they could have at least acknowledged your email.

Will return later if I haven't fallen asleep on my nose

MJreturns · 16/03/2009 09:59

And our thread title just about sums me up today!

PillockInTheSunshine · 16/03/2009 12:29

I'm here

I know I've been utterly rubbish later, I've lost contact with a lot of RL mates too, but am gonna try really, really hard to switch off skytv get back to you all

Fab weather here, took boys to Zoo yesterday and had a really lovely day. Will post photos when I get home of Zoo trip, Red Nose Day, and everything else I've forgotten to report back on!

OOOOOOH - Don't the birthdays start soon? Oooggs/Kneehigh (or at least their April babies obviously!)

elkiedee · 16/03/2009 12:29

I'm about SPB, just a bit fed up! We've been having some building work done by a friend of my cousin and her mum. He was fixing a window which turned out to be so bad it's fallen out, and also redecorating the bathroom. Bathroom is usable but awkward in the meantime. Builder guy's life has quite seriously fallen apart while he's been working on our bathroom, and I feel incredibly sorry for him. But I also want to know when or if he'll be able to finish what he's started. I'm quite frustrated and feel guilty about being frustrated today, and I'm also worried about him not showing up or getting in touch this morning.

PillockInTheSunshine · 16/03/2009 12:35

Just tried to look up the stats thread to see when the April baby birthdays start and it's blocked

Remember those days when we we too rude for my work filter to let me view the thread

So, I can't look it up, can someone do it for me please?

PillockInTheSunshine · 16/03/2009 12:36

I think it will be on this thread but I can't look at it to check!
