Hi everyone
Off to see MW in a sec so popping in
Happy birthday for yesterday NL
Bramshott, no experience sorry but hope it clears up quickly once they know what it is. T's bugs seem to go on for weeks and weeks, so you have my sympathies!

cazboldy · 24/03/2009 14:58

oh good luck with that spb x

Bramshott · 24/03/2009 15:59

Thanks Caz (and MammyJo!) - you are marvels! How I've got through 6 years of parenthood without knowing this stuff I don't know! !

StealthPolarBear · 24/03/2009 16:36

hi everyone
it's got really cold again

cazboldy · 24/03/2009 17:49

Off to parents evening for Harry and Caitlin tonight

elkiedee · 24/03/2009 17:58

SPB, brrr, it has indeed got cold again, in London too. A bit of a pain as we still don't have a complete window - one of the panes of glass broke (sorry about the unintentional pun) and it's cold. P, our builder, was meant to be coming back today to sort it, having picked up the materials to do so.

I was about to write that he hasn't been in touch at all but I've just this minute received a text to say he'll be back tomorrow morning. He sounds a bit overwhelmed by his personal problems, poor man. It makes me feel guilty about just wanting a window!

CaptainDippy · 24/03/2009 18:07

I'd just get her to go on a potty Bramshott, then she can leave the room while you do the "business" if she is feeling It's quick and simple. Definitely needs looking into though. xx

Claire2009 · 24/03/2009 18:37

Hello all,

Can I join?

I have a DS born 18th April '07!

Just found this site while browsing the other day!

Northernlurker · 24/03/2009 18:49

Hi Claire

welcome to our midst!

Do you want to tell us a bit about yourself? My April baby is Beatrice, born 21/04/07 and I have two big girls aged nearly 11 and 8. I'm married, live in the north and work for the NHS.

Likes: chocolate, handbags, crime fiction
Dislikes: Salmon, broken electrical appliances and cardboard boxes.

Hi NortherLurker!

My April baby is Joe (Joseph) born 18/04/07 at 41+6 planned section in France (I now live in the Uk) I'm single & have been since Joe was 5wks old. I also have a 3yr old DD born 18/02/06.
I live in Devon and am a sahm.

Likes: Chocolate, Horse Riding (when i have time!) & swimming
Dislikes: Liars, The 'whites' of eggs and XP

Northernlurker · 24/03/2009 18:59

Aha - well I hate egg whites to and Cazboldy on this thread is v keen on horses so you're amongst friends here!

Joe is a lovely name - is he getting all toddlerish now? B is very chatty and around Christmas time was having awful tantrums but she's got a lot better recently. She loves books and trains and animals and her sisters!
What is your little girl called? I have a Miranda and a Rosalind as well as Bea.

OP posts:
Claire2009 · 24/03/2009 19:01

Yeah he's toddlerish but not much babble/talk! He's going for a hearing test in 4-6wks!
My DD is called Morgane, pronounced the same as the English Morgane (even though it's a French name & meant to be pronounced as Morr-Gann )

Northernlurker · 24/03/2009 19:08

Hope you get on ok with the hearing test. Did he have one at birth? Do they do that in France? My dd1 was very slow to talk - only a few words very clear at 2 1/2. Now of course you can't shut her up.....

Your dd's name is gorgeous too! Very unusual for the UK I think?

Right - I have to go do some hoovering now so see you around again

Hi Claire! I'm Kate, my DS Tristan will be 2 on the 27th April and I'm 16 weeks pregnant (or is it still 15). I'm married, live in the north and work for the NHS (and I'm not NL with a different name, I promise!)
My big news is my (usually non-eating) toddler had four bowls of chilli tonight!
He also says very little, is slowly getting better but seems to be a bit slower than his friends in communication (waving/clapping/pointing were all about or over a year).
It must have been hard coping with a newborn and a 1yo alone!

StealthPolarBear · 24/03/2009 19:14

oh and I love the whites of eggs - are you two really telling me you don't even like them fried?! Weirdos!

Claire2009 · 24/03/2009 19:29

LOL!!! SP, Nope I don't like them fried! or boiled! I'll only eat the yolks!

Both in bed now so sat down for some tv, internet time

Wow! FOUR bowls of chilli!!!! Joe won't eat saucey like foods, altho he adores tomato ketchup?! Not sure if thats good or not

NL, Yeah he had a test at birth, passed fine..but with the lack of speech before he can be forwarded onto speech therapy he has to have this done. He understands me great tbh, but he's also at times in his own little word. The HV seemed to think he may only be hearing certain tones....will see anyway with the tests!

SP, Yes it wasn't easy in the slightest with a 15mo and 5wk old when I left xp but it was the best thing I could've done & I am happy out of the relationship. He rarely sees them (have solicitors sorting it out now) and it was a DV relationship so not nice!

How heavy were your LO's born?

Claire2009 · 24/03/2009 19:30

SP, Love the name Tristan!!!

And NL, Beatrice is a beautiful name!!!!!

elkiedee · 24/03/2009 19:50

Welcome Claire - my son Danny was actually born in May but he was due in April 2007. I live in London with my boyfriend and our 2 sons - Conor was born last month.

cazboldy · 24/03/2009 19:59

Hey there Claire - you made it!

as NL said I am indeed horsey!

My april babe is Molly, who was born on the 6th, at home in the bath, weighing 6 lbs 13oz

she is a little treasure

I also have another daughter Caitlin who is 9, and 3 boys. james who is 12, harry who is 7, and Charlie who is 3

Sexonlegs · 24/03/2009 20:22

Evening

Happy Belated Birthday NL. Hope you had a good one.

Welcome Claire - great name btw!

Where in Devon are you?

Bramshott, poor dd1 Like others have said, I would take her to the docs; they will have seen this so many times before.

Hi Elkie

SPB, how was the mw appt?

All ok here, although wonder if K is coming down with summat. She refused her milk at bedtime

Claire2009 · 24/03/2009 20:32

Hey,

yes CazBoldy I certainly did make it

SOL, I'm in Plymouth, originally from Berkshire though.

CazBoldy, Wow, what a fab birth that must've been!! I had Morgane by emergency section & had no choice with Joe, they booked me in for a section at 41+3 and he was born weighing 9lbs 4oz at 41+6! Morgane weighed 8lbs 4oz so both biggish babies here....

Will try & make time to read back!

CaptainDippy · 25/03/2009 07:26

Weird, I've just got the message box & nothing else!!!? Morning anyway! I'm off out to see an old friend today, while DH has the girls!!

StealthPolarBear · 25/03/2009 08:36

I have a messgae box but all messages crushed down the right hand side, underneath.
Don't think other threads are like that.
My four bowls of chilli was a bit of an exaggeration - he usually eats nothing (as oin pushes it away completely) so the portions were tiny, but were refilled 3 times!
He also slept all through the night

he's only done that twice I think so far, and ages ago. Shame I didn't sleep through the night pregnancy bladder!
Claire, hope Joe's hearing test goes well. It's good that he understands what you're saying.
