oooh how exciting!!!!! congratulations SKY

Themasterandmargaritas · 11/05/2009 06:40

Sky that is fantastic!

I hope dh is feeling better today April and a huge thank you for the books, J loves them, especially the birthday one!

I often tantrum LG&T, it's very therapeutic.

Tilly, good luck for today. I am thinking of you....

J had a lovely party, lots of cake and crap wholesome food.

TheGreatScootini · 11/05/2009 08:07

How exciting!Congrats Sky!

They will still lay all being well Master.DH and I were out in the garden last night planning our coopage for them.(obv will have to pay a man to build it as DH is not good at DIY and wont get time anyway-he is going to work this morn then back to Carlisle later as his Dad is having CT scan) have asked the neighbours-we only have one side and they are quite happy about it and have said they will feed them when we are away.(I think they are envisaging tons for free eggs which might be a tad optimistic)

We had a lovely time at the Zoo.Mae was totally mad for the elephants and I thought the animals all looked relatiely happy which isnt always the case in a zoo.(am not all that keen on Zoo's really but still)It was hilly though, you are right Jam.Neither M or L will go in a buggy now but it came in handy for lugging the picnic about.

Glad J had a lovely party..

Blimey AM-Poor old DH. at the heavies in the mall. You be careful love.I always envisage Florida being full of Mah Jong playing old people but obv I am off the mark there!

I love a wee tantrum Gin.If its good enough for the girls its good enough for me.Sometimes if I chuck myself on the floor and scream it stops the girls doing it as they laugh.(theres another tip for my parenting manual

I am going to plant my tomatoes and sweet peas before I go to work today.I am.They are dying in their little pots as they have been out there for 3 weeks already.
Unless it rains.I am only a fair weather gardener.

JamInMyWellies · 11/05/2009 08:24

Thinking of you today Tilly.

Not too bad here last night G&T awake at 5.30 and only one feed between midnight and 5.30 so a result.

Have to go to toddler yoga in a mo but will be back later to get your views on what my BF has suggested I do with Lachie she is classed as a baby whisperer in NY get your judgy pants on I nearly fell over laughing.

JamInMyWellies · 11/05/2009 08:26

oh and CONGRATS sky!

TheGreatScootini · 11/05/2009 09:23

Im intrigued.Pants at the ready.

I really dont want to go to work today.Or ever actually.I am becoming quite pathological about it.FFS.I NEED to win about 20k on the lotto-then at least I could take a sabbatical for a year and re train as a driving instructor.(Im so ambitous Some women dream of being an actress, some a model, some people want to climb Everest.I want to work for BSM )

SKYTVADDICT · 11/05/2009 10:39

Thanks for the congrats. I decided that we would never be able to afford it really so we may as well set a date and go for it. Very romantic! DP was quite taken aback I think although most definitely wanted to get married (having got engaged two years ago).

Good luck today Tilly. Fingers crossed for you that all is well.

Happy birthday to J for today TMAM. The party pics looked good. I haven't even had time to post the pics of Cs party yet.

Your pics look good too AL, the weather looked like it held for you. Its amazing to see the pics of how they are all growing up.

I have loads to do today as the HV is coming tomorrow and I officially live in a tip! I need to tidy, dust and hoover the front room at least and L has just woken up and now needs attention - there are just not enough hours in the day. Thank god for Fireman Sam and Pepper Pig!

SKYTVADDICT · 11/05/2009 10:54

and I haven't even thought about the cake, flowers, photos, venue, guest list etc etc etc!

I am already stressed out as it is - what am I doing!!!

JamInMyWellies · 11/05/2009 11:31

Right so my best friend works for a company in New York sort of supernannyish she is very well respected amongst the Manhatten mothers hundreds attend her potty training seminars thats right seminars. Anyway she has a little girl about to turn 1 who was FF slept through very early, by all accounts the "perfect" baby. Was talking to her about Lachies need to wake randomly for several hours at a time during the night. She said "you still BF" me "yes" her response was wean him I said no not till 26wks then I got well some babies find breast milk boring with no taste and giving him some baby rice would give him a different flavour therefore he would sleep through.

largeginandtonic · 11/05/2009 11:49

Till hope all is well

LOL Jam...

I was hoping for some pearls of wisdom.

Beau has been up since 0250am, he woke at 1130pm too. He finally went back to sleep at 5and Indie woke for food. I have complete sense of humour failure and had to endure 4 tantrums this morning as he is so tired. The last tantrum was a 40 minute job, red in face, screaming, hurting himslef, entirely confused. Door open\door shut, sit down, get up. When he finally calms down he is so sorry for himself. He obv has a banging headache and is beside himself.

So am i. I am truly a prisoner in my own home, i cannot bear to take him out

I have never been so flummoxed before in my life.

Help me.

OP posts:
SKYTVADDICT · 11/05/2009 11:54

I don't know what to say LG&T - just big hugs. Too far away to visit you, and bringing my brood would only add to the hysteria! . Have a cup of tea, cake and sit him in front of the TV!! Not much good in the long run but you get a sit down!

DD2 is still my biggest problem with her tantrums - she is nearly 9 FFS - so can at least be sent to her room (or dragged on the occasion!).

MmeJaffaB · 11/05/2009 11:58

bollocks! Sorry Jam (no disrespect to friend) but I think it's crap.

SKY, woo hooo, great, congrats! Now the nightmare begins, you could alway hire AM, she's very very very good at organising and arranging.

lg&t, you should have the tantrums, they do work! I love to chuck my toys out of the pram every so often.

No one staying but had a few things arranged this weekend, dinned and danced mostly. Drunk too much with the dine bit on Friday night then suffered with the dancing bit on Saturday night because of it. We were still going at 3am though.

Have so much to do this week too, it's "our" birthday week and I have a show on Saturdy night and we are off to Grans on Wednesday. Haven't even thought about what to take, we are so skint this time I'm even going to take some food from the cupboards I think so we don't spend too much on eating out. Have to sort a wedding present out too for bf...have NO idea, I don't think they have a list.

JamInMyWellies · 11/05/2009 12:02

Oh lovey thats exactly like Archie. Mucho sympathy. He did one for 2 hours the other day. As much as possible before I see the red mist descend I try to distract him with reading a book for 5 mins or putting the telly on for 5 mins but that in itself means there is usually another tantrum when the telly is switched off. Otherwise I ignore ignore ignore also a couple of times when he has started to bellow I have down a sort of screamy shouty thing back at him and he has stopped.

MmeJaffaB · 11/05/2009 12:04

Sorry lg&t, x-posts. I used to feel like that with Maddie although her's wasn't a sleep issue. I wish I knew what to suggest, can you get MIL over for a few days give you a break? I know that won't help in the long run I'm just clutching at straws for you.

Did the gaffa tape not work?

JamInMyWellies · 11/05/2009 12:09

sorry meant to add with the sleep thing I really would try and stairgate his bedroom door take everything out that could hurt him mattress on the floor and leave him to get on with it. I know not that much help as there is always the worry he will wake the whole house up.

elkiedee · 11/05/2009 14:18

Happy belated birthdays to Conor and Matilda

Ugh at your friend's suggestion Jam, I can't imagine baby rice is that exciting!

dp probably lost some stuff on his computer but a lot of it will have been stored on our desktop machine at home (if recent enough) or his newer, smaller notebook which he carries around with him. Some may have been lost particularly as desktop crashed a couple of months ago, fortunately all the baby photos were stored on the second hard drive which was ok - I'm glad I did that! I pushed him to change his online banking details.

Tillyscoutsmum · 11/05/2009 15:13

Had scan and so far, so good Couldn't believe it tbh - was really expecting the worst for some reason but there was definitely a little bean with a heartbeat

Congratulations SKY How exciting. I love weddings and at the risk of sounding like Daddy Pig, I am a bit of an expert at these things so happy to help if I can. I have a fab wedding dress sitting in the loft

Happy birthday to recent birthday boys and girls.

LG&T - sorry to hear about your lack of sleep Could it be his back teeth ? We've had a couple of nights like that recently and I'm afraid I've reverted to Calpol Night (and I don't care if they've changed the guidelines frankly !).

Jam - lol at your friend. Mmmmmm - baby rice- really tasty

JamInMyWellies · 11/05/2009 15:17

Chuffed to bits for you Tilly.

Themasterandmargaritas · 11/05/2009 16:09

Hurrah for Till So glad it is all fine, (are you listening Pink? )

LG&T, you really do need some sleep don't you. I'm with Tills it sounds to me like something is bothering him at night, probably his teeth, remember J was like this a month back. Have you tried knocking him out with something (other than a cricket bat ) before bed time? Is he still napping during the day? Perhaps he is over over tired if he is no longer napping. Could you go out in the car when he is being unbearable and that would hopefully knock him out for a bit, that way you could leave him there outside the house in the car for a wee while...

at your friend's reaction Jam, I hope you pointed her in the direction of MN so she can earn even more money be educated into the way the REAL world works .

largeginandtonic · 11/05/2009 19:24

Tilly that is fabulous news! I am so happy for you So what is the due date? Did they change it at all?

Beau naps in the day, wherever he falls now since his aversion to the cot.

I am going toget him a bed and gate at the weekend when dh is home. I will put some tots in there and leave him to it. If i do it at the weekend and he wakes the children at least it won't be so bad. Dh will also be home so poor old Indie doesn't suffer.

I am running on empty though. I am supposed to go out tomorrow with frinds to a big M&S. I am seriously thinking why bother.

I texted mil to see if she would have him but have not heard anyting She did say to ask if i needed help (i HATE asking for help) this morning the freezer had been left open all night. I had to defrost it, B was flipping out and i just held my breath and texted her. I figured if she was busy she could just ignore the text. I didn't want to put her on the spot.

When it came to cleaning up the defrosted reezer mess after i had been totoddlers this avo it was a state. I had out towels down but seriously underestimated the water! As i cleaned it up i knocked a tray on the side that knocked the full washing up bowl on to the floor, i got the mop out and managed to knock that over too I could have sat in the flash covered floor and cried.

Little things tip you over the edge don't they.

MrsJB will you have time for a visit? We could meet you at the park? Do you remember that first time when we were about 18 weeks pregnant!

Jam has Archie improved at all?

B could be cutting teeth, he has had 2 days of poo every hour and super sour. It is burning his bum

Congratulations on the scan Tilly, so pleased all is ok x

LG&T.... i will be popping over again for a visit once i am back without the kinders to make you tea and feed you cake! Will call when home and arrange a date

Dh and ds went to Cape Canaveral today to see the Space Shuttle Atlantis blast off to the space station. They had a great time by the sounds of it. I went with Ella and our friends to a park and did a few shows which was nice. E now in bed for a well needed sleep. They have both been running on a 75% battery as they are missing the regular routine. Yesterday they both went without a nap and E fell asleep at 5.45pm and woke at 7.45 this morning. It made all the difference as she has been a lot less grumpy today.

TMAM, glad J liked his books and that they arrived safe and well.

MmeJaffaB · 11/05/2009 21:28

Thats really great Tilly. Yay! Congratulations.

lg&t, We have all day Thursday and Friday morning at Grannies. Thursday my sister is coming down but not sure how long she will stay. I'd love to get together, I'm dying to meet the gorgeous girl. The park sounds a fab idea. I do remember the first time we met, the twins had their golden nuggets nicked by some brat...we got um back though!Perhaps Friday 22nd mid morning would be good, what about for you?

SKYTVADDICT · 11/05/2009 22:37

Brilliant news Tilly. So chuffed for you.

LOL at the mention of your dress ! You look extremely slim and tall in your photos and unfortunatley I am not!

Did I mention I started Slimming World 3 weeks ago this Thursday? The first week I lost 4.5 lb but last week only .5lb although I did go late pm to get weighed instead of first thing in the morning. According to my scales first thing this morning I have lost 9lb and I already feel much better.

LG&T - it is the little things that tip me over the edge too - although what you described today isn't a little thing!

I didn't get the job - got a phone call from the lady herself earlier which I thought was very nice.

TheGreatScootini · 12/05/2009 07:55

Great news Til!

hahaha.Jam does your friend want to collaborate on my guide to parenting? (Peppa Pig being employed here too.I have just been online shopping for 40 mins whilst the girls are glued to it and its only 7.30.This is something I swore I would NEVER do-use telly as a babysitter.Hey ho.)

Mrs JB.Could you get them a copy of the paper the day they were married and frame the front page up.Some friends did that for us and we thought it was quite cute.Obv not if the headline is something like '5 in a bed romp, tranny MP' )

Quite of the space shuttle.Have always fancied seeing a blast off..

Which brings me nicely to you gin..take courage my friend.I have little advise-you know my trials with Miss Lily and now t'other has started..obv this is only a fraction of what you have to deal with and does not compare.
I think the gate is a good idea.Sometimes its quite frankly the only option.I used to strap L into the buggy when she was going ballistic and just get out (one to calm her down, two to stop me losing it totally as there was more likely to be by standers).I dont know if thats an option for you.(I cant do it with Mae either because she turns into hte hulk with super human strength and i cannot even get her in the buggy if she doesnt want to go, which is always)

I feel you on the not daring to take them places. It can get quite depressing as you start to feel it is going to be so nightmarish taking them out that there really is no point and you do start to feel trapped.Thats where the walking comes in as at the very least you are ut but not somewhere whre the potential for disaster is high IYSWIM..much love to you.Pesky kids

Well done on the slimming SKY..i think thats good going myself.
I need to lose approx 8 pounds by Saturday when we are going to a wedding (all being well with FIL who has his CT today)

Happy Birthday to those I have missed/are today..there is a theme here.I am useless at remembering birthdays.I forgot my god sons 1st one last week. And I see him every other day.Dreadful.

Day off today (in lieu of working the sodding weekend)I applied online for a job yesterday.I wont get it as it is way above my level but even if I get an interview it will be good practice I suppose.Same hours as now but much more money so at least there would be some incentive.

TheGreatScootini · 12/05/2009 08:00

Actually if anyone has 10 free mins go on ASOS and see if you like this frock I am considering getting for the 4 weddings we are going to this summer.I cant link as am a numpty. It is Ted Baker I think 'contrast bow dress'.Navy blue halter mini dress with a big print pattern bow at the neck.I also like the shoes next to it in the red..

Not sure but oportunities to shop are not forthcoming realy pre Saturday as Friday is the only possibility but will have the girls so may as well not bother.
