Wow sounds like a fun day LG&T!

'tis very hot. Off to take the kids for a swim to cool down.

I will be taking it easy. Figured that we have 2 weeks to get round the parks and have already said to dh that if i start feeling knackered that i would come 'home' and have a rest. He and the kids will be fine as we have my BIL and one of their cousins with us. Am drinking plenty and snacking when needed.

TTFN xx

MmeJaffaB · 03/05/2009 16:55

Excuse me are they all yours?
Do you ever offer any of them away when asked that? I don't think I could resist. "Yes, they are but you may have one if you like, or two even, take your pick Madame pleeeease" Or is that just me and how mean I am?
My bf phoned yesterday to ask me how I would like my children placed around the table at her wedding. I asked her if she had a relative she didn't like much, on another table that perhaps she could sit Maddie next to for the day. Funnily enough she wasn't keen on that idea.

Did I just see Wotsthestory down the page? Sorry I missed you here.

AbbyLou · 03/05/2009 17:11

Lol at you MrsJB trying to offload M for the day. We have been invited to a wedding in September, one of dh's old school friends and it's no kids. I'm actually looking forward to a night away without them.
AM glad you are having fun. Echo MrsJB though, make sure you don't overdo it.
LG&T I reall don't know how you do it with all your brood. It must be such hard work taking them all out together. Shoe shopping must be hell! I was really naughty yesterday. I bought R a really cheap pair of sandals from one of those awful cheapo high street shoe shops. I just can't bear o spend £25 on Clarkes ones. I always buy winter shoes from there but I don't really know why I feel sandals are different. Probably because we never get the chance to wear them in this country!! I usually get sandals for them from Next but these are just as nice and they were £5!! I will regret it when they rip her feet to shreds!

MmeJaffaB · 03/05/2009 18:52

hmmmmmmmmm personally I don't see the hype in shoes, I know the knows but having seen the state of my nieces feet at 15yrs old with huge bunions I'm not convinced by the "expensive shoe" stuff. Her mother spent a near fortune on "correct" shoes for her, did her the world of good obviously. Mine wear what fits and what I can afford I'm afraid.

MmeJaffaB · 03/05/2009 18:59

Sounds like I have a problem with Clarks. I don't and in my defence my kids wear alot of Clarks & Smartrite and they are always gorgeous shoes. My sister buys them in the sales for me.
I'm just not convinced they are as essential as people make out.

JamInMyWellies · 03/05/2009 20:21

Me too MrsJB I get A's feet measured so I have a rough estimate of they are then get what I fancy although saying that DP is obsessed with them being from Clarks who recalls my hunt round Essex for a particular pair of shoes for A last Summer.

Oh and have been doing the internet trawl for summer clothes for the boys and ASOS are now doing kids clothes obvioulsy they have the usual ridiculous designer kids stuff but they are also doing mini boden way cheaper than the boden website plus converse and a few other decent things.

LG&T £183

Abby we too have a no child wedding next year cant ruddy well wait

Themasterandmargaritas · 04/05/2009 16:01

J is currently standing in front of the telly, pointing, laughing his head off and shouting 'piggy'. Guess what has arrived on our CBeebies?

SKYTVADDICT · 04/05/2009 22:38

Help. I don't know when any birthdays are.

Can anyone tell me?

C had a lovely tea party today and we opened a few presents and had a cake. DP has the day off tomorrow and we have another cake for then - Peppa Pig of course. Think we may go to soft play.

AprilMeadow · 05/05/2009 00:00

Here is a link to the birth announcements thread. Its missing TillyScout and perhaps 1or2 more. birthdays

AprilMeadow · 05/05/2009 00:01

Been shopping today and bought Lucy some lovely little sleepy suits and a few vests. Dh is quite pleased that all the clothes are summery so completely wrong for a September baby.

MmeJaffaB · 05/05/2009 08:24

Happy Birthday Callum..... Hope you have a nice day. x

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/05/2009 08:37

Happy Birthday Callum, I hope you enjoy your Peppa Pig cake!

largeginandtonic · 05/05/2009 08:38

Happy Birthday Callum!

I found myself crying in B's room last night. After his 5am start, Indie's 1230 mass pooand feed and some random accept reverse charges call at 3am, a full on day and B refusing to go to bed all day i was baggage.

He keeps climbing out his cot. I put him back, he gets out. He screams and shouts. He goes in to the boy's room and shouts. I put him back. In the end i stood in his room so i could stop him before he even tipped himself out. I t is ridculous. He finally went to sleep only for Indie to wake and then in he trotted at 0450. I am a zombie and fairl sure we are going to have a repeat of yesterday.

What the hell am i supposed to do? I am all for letting him scream but he gets so annoyed i have no idea what to do with him. The red mist descends, he throws himself out the cot and i am sure must be black and blue. He comes in to me and everyone else and scream too.

He wakes Indie up when he comes inin the morning.

Happy Birthday Callum.

LG&T have you thought about a stairgate on his bedroom door then his mattress on the floor and let him get on with it.

lachie awake sunday night 9.30 pm, midnight then up for the day at 1am back to sleep at 7am. For the love of god sleep child.

Hope everyone had a lovely bank hol.

largeginandtonic · 05/05/2009 11:23

I think if he carries on i will have to Jam. I used to have a stair gate on the twins bedroom door and they were in beds at 16 months.

They didn't scream and head butt though. It didn't matter if they made a racket as there was no one else to wake up.

Also dh is still away and i need him to take the cot apart and fit a child gate

I can do it, i just don't want to

He can also turn the flippin light on and off so does that too. My god he is a special little boy...

Why is Lachie up Jam? Growth spurt?

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/05/2009 12:03

MAN UP woman. He is a toddler, you are in control. You are in control.

(Is it working yet?)

Get rid of the cot and put his cot mattress on the floor. You have to be tough and be prepared to keep putting him back onto his mattress and tell him what you are doing, which is heavy going if you are knackered, I can imagine. If you sit with him while he drops off does he still yell? If not, then you could try the sitting next to him/an arm width away/a metre away/by the door - that type of thing each night until you are outside the door. J too puts the light on and off and on and off. It drives B to distraction poor boy. Can you put tape over it?

MmeJaffaB · 05/05/2009 12:13

Gaffa tape?

Cupboard?

Key?

snigger

Themasterandmargaritas · 05/05/2009 12:15
largeginandtonic · 05/05/2009 13:45

Iknow what i need to do i just can't alright.

He stops if i stand in the room, well eventually anyway. I will gaffa tape his mouth the light tonight. Hover in his room till he settles which is fine as long as India is not hollering downstairs.

She has a suspicious looking chicken pox spot in her nappy area FFS how much more can happen. Don't answer that you fecking God's who clearly have some major issues with me atm.

I just had to drag H to playschool kicking and screaming too. He was really going for it and running all over the house toget away from me.

Poor you LG&T! I hope that you have a better day today. I have Ella's cot bed (as mentioned before) that you could have for B if you want. It would be harder for him to climb out and also turns into a little bed for when you/he are ready. Would free up the cot for I......

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/05/2009 15:03

LG&T - sounds like you're having a shocking time at the moment. I have no advice (I am but a mere amateur) but hope things get better soon

Happy Birthday Callum. Tilly had a Peppa Pig cake for her b'day and it went down very well

charleymouse · 05/05/2009 15:17

April your parcel got sent next door so please accept my apologies for not saying thank-you. I have been sniffing the rollerball and sucking the preggie pops like a good un. Woohoo have not been sick yet today. Although feel like I need to TBH. Hope you are having a lovely time.

Happy Birthday Callum. How was the cake SKY?

Jam so relieved your dsis is okay and sounds like she is in good hands. What a relief.

LG&T sorry can not help but here have shoulder to cry on.

Hi PJ, AL, MrsJB, TMAM am in rush as overlooked at work so please forgive lack of response can not read to far down.

MmeJaffaB · 05/05/2009 16:35

oh lg&t, I wish there was something I could do, wish I was at grans this week I'd come and play with B for a while to give you a break. Won't help the night time I know. I do sympathise amongst my joking, honest, he sounds like Maddie, slightly draining to say the least.

Probably a stuuuuuuupid idea and not feasible but, could you swap I and B over for a bit? Wonder if he'd settle in with you better and if Indie sleeps well just waking for feeds maybe you could just escape to feed.

btw, the gaffa tape suggestion was for his mouth
