HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jackmeadow! xx

How's the toof hole this morning lg&t? hope it didn't give you too much jip through the night.

lydle3 · 24/04/2009 10:45

Hi all,

you are all very kind !

DD2 is 9, she was diagnosed when she was 5 and a half months old. She has had 4 years chemo (over the years) and radiotherapy. Her tumour is quiet at the mo (inoperable) but she has a big cyst next to it which fills and fills, so she has a drain under the skin and we go to the hosp twice a week to drain 50mls out otherwise she becomes unwell. She cant have a shunt as fluid is full of protein, too gloopy and would block it.

We have just been to the Royal Mardsden (in Easter ) where she has had a relatively experimental treatment where they have injected radioactivity into the cyst itself to hopefully kill lining and stop filling, we are awaiting wether it works !

DH came home for that for two weeks compassionate, to help with other kids: DD1 12, DD3 2 and dogs. So no dont think he could come back again. He is almost fininshed tour 7th May he is home for a month hurrah !!!!

If i havent bored you to sleep that is my story.

I realise i have been very me me me.

MJB - sorry to hear about your husband, i will add crossed toes and fingers and hope for the best.

LG&T hope your mouth is ok ?

I had braces for two years, came off last summer for my wedding in October.
Had to have op on my bottomjaw for underbite, they broke it slid it forward and screwed it back in place, it wasnt pleasant. I remember after feeling something and pulling - it was a stitch i nearly fainted from the pain ! DH said i looked like the Mel B character from Bo Selecta - thanks

Anyway hello to everyone else - hope i havent bored you all to death.

Tillyscoutsmum · 24/04/2009 11:25

Awww lydie - sounds like you've had a really shitty time of it Hope everything goes ok for you

Happy birthday to Jack

MrsJB - still keeping everything crossed for you... the waiting must be unbearable

LG&T - hope tooth isn't too painful and Indie is ok after jabs

TMAM - sorry you were kept awake.... If it helps, Tilly's "performance" was a one off

No more bleeding for me so hoping all is well (but still not feeling very pg ). Midwife won't refer me to EPU so think I'll book a private one after 7 weeks, assuming nothing else happens in the meantime

Have fun tonight PJ & Scoot

AprilMeadow · 24/04/2009 11:38

Oh Lydie you poor thing, so much to deal with and with dh away

Ouch LG&T at the tooth being out, fingers crossed that it doesnt cause too much pain.

FGS MrsJB that is crap! Sorry that you and A are having wait soooo long.

Tilly, am pleased to hear that the bleeding has stopped. Have my fingers crossed for you x

Spoken to Pink who is having her hair done so that she doesnt get shown up by Mrs Cole tonight

Have been baking again this morning - milk choc cheesecake, biscuits in the shape of a 4, jelly and sorting lots of the food out. Am shattered!! Luckily kids are at nursery this morning so have been left to get on with it. Had to build his McQueen racing car - was not expecting that and need to go to town to get balloons etc. He has some little friends coming for a party tea and then tonight i have out Touring Car Team (20 of them) coming for a BBQ as we are at Thruxton this weekend and its only 30mins down the road.

I think i will be a collapsed heap by monday and the only thing getting me through will be my 11.20 scan

AprilMeadow · 24/04/2009 11:39

Oh yes, and thanks for Jack's birthday wishes. He opened 3 pressies this morning and the rest will follow when he gets home at 1pm

elkiedee · 24/04/2009 12:28

Tilly sorry to hear about your worries

And Lydle, glad you feel able to tell about it, even though there's nothing I can say except to express my sympathy. Hope things will work out.

Happy birthday Jack.

AbbyLou · 24/04/2009 17:23

Hello all.
Lydl, nice to meet you. Sorry you are having such a tough time. This mad bunch will give you lots of laughs though.
LGT hope the teeth are feeling better.
MrsJB so sorry about the results. How ridiculous! I can't belive they think it's ok to keep someone waiting on like that! I too watched your vid - very cool!
AM - happy birthday to J. You will be competing with LGT soon for the greatest baker of the group! I can't believe how much cooking, baking and entertaining you do, especially in your condition!
Pink, hope the hair loks good. Have a great time tonight at Girls Aloud. Say Hi to Scoot, tell her we miss her.
Tilly, sorry to hear your news. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that everything is still ok.
TMAM R gets up a lot at night too. We often find her on the landing with all the Tweenies lined up singing to them. It's so cute I can't get cross!
Well I have survived the first week back and dh and I have a child-free weekend. They have gone to stay with their grandparents for the weekend. We are off out for a meal tonight and going to Alton Towers tomorrow.
Hope you all enjoy your weekends!!!

SKYTVADDICT · 24/04/2009 21:30

Hope you have a good weekend AL.

Happy (late) brithday to Jack - who is most probably in bed by now. Hope you all had a lovely day.

DD1 is 13 tomorrow - I can't believe she is that old!! Not doing much other than going out for tea - the boys have a fancy dress party to go to in the afternoon then someone is looking after them while we just take the girls out for a change.

Hope you all have the best weekend you can x

AprilMeadow · 25/04/2009 09:10

Phew!!!

That's the birthday's all done and dusted until January
Totally knackered, feel like my hips belong to an 80 year old! Am so pleased we had such fantastic weather yesterday. We sat outside (i use the word sat very loosely as i didnt do much of it) until 10pm which was great.

Bought far too much food but at least it means that we have loads of burgers and sausages for future bbq's

Happy Birthday to DD1 SKY. Hope you have a great day.

Off to Thruxton today for qualifying, thankfully my sister is having Ella so only have J to worry about.

Pink&Scoot I hope you had a fab time last night.

Happy weekend to all x

lydle3 · 25/04/2009 13:18

Hi all,

I often think when you write down my life it either looks made up or terrible luck, but its my life and i just get on with it !

I am lucky in lots of ways . . . .

I think everyones life, problems is relative !

April, you put me to shame, it was DD1's bday wed, we went to pizza hut in my defence that is all she wanted to do. Glad you DS had a lovely day.

I did however make the cake - she wanted a 12 in numbers with black bats on she is going through a bit of an emo phase, it turned out ok, you had to squint at some of the bats, to make them look like bats

I note from reading back a lot of you are on facebook. I am too, if anyone is interested its Lydia Keill, you can look at my brood !!

Anyway quiet weekend for me, didnt get to speak to colposcopy doc, no one answered no he left for me and then he phoned 2 days on the trot when i was on the school run

Will def get him monday.

Hope you are all having good weekends what ever you are doing

SKYTVADDICT · 26/04/2009 07:28

He lydle 0 I have facebooked you x

We had an ok day but DD1 is having a sleepover when the fair comes to town in a couple of weeks so only took her to Frankie and Bennys for tea - cost a fortune though!

The boys had a brill time at the fancy dress party - will post some piccies if I can find the lead.

DD2 fell out with a friend whose Dad came to call on Friday night as he thought she and another friend were picking on his daughter! He wasn't horrid but I took DD2 round with her friend (and friends Nan) and he had a bit of a go at them - I burst into tears!

I came home and decided that I need to slow down a bit - I can't do it all - I have far too much going on. I am nearly crying now as I type this.

Have to say the friends mum rang when I got home to make sure I was ok, I burst into tears again and she biked straight round here and stayed for ages. She now realises it wasn't her DHs fault that I had a mini melt down but just a fact of my life!!

I also have a bloody job interview for the only job I have applied for! Its the Lincoln Hopsital one - Personal Secretary for the MacMillan Lead Nurse. DP thinks I should really go for it as he thinks one of my problems is being at home all the time is driving me nuts! I don't agree but will go along for the interview and see what occurs. It is an interview panel!

Themasterandmargaritas · 26/04/2009 10:04

Sky, you come and cry here with us. You have so much going on, you can't be expected to not have mini meltdowns once in a while! If I had had that situation with dd's friend's parent I too would have burst into tears. Young girls and their politics are far too complicated for the parents to be getting so emotionally involved as well, it's just what little girls do, friends one minute, enemies the next.

I think it is great you have an interview, what the hell, go for it. You don't have to accept it if you get it, but it will surely boost your morale enormously.

Lydle, sometimes those kind of lives are frankly the more interesting ones

This morning I have run about 16k in the pouring rain, broken into my house and taken a tepid bath in 1 inch of water.

largeginandtonic · 26/04/2009 10:49

Abby i am desperate to got to Alton Towers Hope you had a fab time.

April you are doing far more baking than i atm, definately putting me to shame. The party sounds great and a very belated Happy Birthday to Jackanory You must rest though chick or you will wear yourself out. Feet up please. Maybe we could do a meet after next week, if i am still alive?

Lydle you poor thing, you do have it all going on. Take time for yourself in all of it. The wedding pics are lovely!

Sky i am with you on the mini melt downs,i have very nearly cried in the last few days. Unheard of for me. I had to email Cod so she could tell me to a grip Course she was was nice and but she did tell me to get a cleaner and stop cooking wholesome food for the dc What do you think would help Sky?

I may get a cleaner. In the week i was so busy and the bathrooms needed doing very badly, i sprayed them with Cif in the morning so i would have to clean them before the kids went in the bath!

My tooth is agony, i am sure i am overdosing on Brufen and am worrying about how much Indie is getting through my milk

At least the sun is shinning and the children can go out and play. I have also managed to straighten my hair this morning

Now how do we all think Pink and Scoot got on? I texted on the night just as they were off for their first drink, lucky ladies

lydle3 · 26/04/2009 12:03

Thanks LG&T, that was 4th October, we had the best day, even though it was the only bad weather weekend of Oct

DD2 (poorly one) is the hairless one in the pics. DD1 is the one who looks 15, she was only 11 and DD3 the one with the wild hair, who looks exactly like Dh, isay to him when she is being awful in public, i can deny her, you can't

I was going to say also going back to your Rose/ Bluebell debate, i have a Madeline Rose, but i think you swayed to Bluebell ?

Sky i know where you are coming from with girls of a certain age DD1 is only 12, but very very hormonal, I find it very hard work, school and friendships especially, who's fallen out with who etc. Espec since she started at secondary.

I am with others go for the interview, it may be the morale boost you need.

DH phoned, he is playing intersquadron volleyball later and was moaning it will be to hot I tried not to be grumpy, but i think he could tell.

Pinkjenny · 26/04/2009 16:24

OMG! Great news, congratulations!

AbbyLou · 26/04/2009 17:02

Oh my god PJ, congratulations!! I'm so pleased for you! I was going to ask how Girls Aloud went but I guess you have other things on your mind!!
Well the kids are back and they had a fab time, as did we. I must admit i did start to miss them by the second bedtime I'd not done. We had a good time at Alton Towers despite the whole park suffering a power cut for an hour and a half! We had just queued for 30 minutes to get on Air, were strapped in our seats about to be tipped forward when the power went off. I felt really sorry for the people having to be freed from high up rides. One poor girl was compltely stuck in the Ripsaw as her harness wouldn't come undone. She had to sit there for the whole time!

Pinkjenny · 26/04/2009 17:31

GA were great, although they played a lot of songs we didn't know, and we were surrounded by kids, so everyone stayed in their seats, which was very odd.

The gorgeous Scoot and I had a great time though.

Tillyscoutsmum · 26/04/2009 18:08

PJ Such fab news ... told you you were testing too early and worrying about nothing . I'm so pleased for you x

It had better be good news or we are all going to lynch that doctor!

elkiedee · 26/04/2009 20:39

Congratulations Pink - I hadn't realised you'd tested so early or I would have reminded you that happened to me and to MKG - those negative tests were just too early.

LGT, don't know how you do it but the cleaner sounds like a very good idea. Are you registered with an NHS dentist, or is it possible to find one? (to get free NHS dental treatment up to 12 months after birth)
