Morning

Well, Emma slept until, 7.30am , from 7.30pm last night......Woo woo!!! DD1 was up about 3 times at about 1.30am just to ensure i didn't have an unbroken nights sleep

Hope better nights were had by all

Morning sazzles brealfast souns lovely.
I just had rabbit food nice bowl of musili with chopped banana.

I am so pleased Emma took a bottle for you, do you think they heard us complaining???

So last night was a HUGE success.
I decided to put Marcus upatairs for first time, not in our room either, I put him in nursey in his cot.
He drank 5oz from a bottle.yeah

dd slept 7.00pm-7.00am (1 wake up at midnight,no tears)

ds 8.00pm-8.00am (2 wake ups 2.30am and 6.45am no tears, fed and straight back down)

no1putsantaupthechimney · 20/12/2008 08:21

I am now thinking, have I been through all this for nothing and should have put him to bed earlier.
Or last night could have been a fluke, or it would have happened wherever/whenever I put him to bed due to being poorly.

Oh well will start as I mean to go on.

sazzles I expressed same time as feeding to ensure I got some and was not sat stressing staring at pathetic amount

no1putsantaupthechimney · 20/12/2008 08:23

hi to fg hope you are ok and your nights are getting better.

SevenRottersPottering · 20/12/2008 09:09

Wow there must have been something in the air last night, all these sleeping babies

Even Isaac managed 7.30pm to 7am with only two fairly brief feeds at 1.30 and 5am woo hoo

It's funny isn't it No1, those lucky mummies with sleep-through-the-night babies would be rubbing their bleary eyes after two wakes, whereas you sound and I feel positively bushy tailed, hurrah!

Yum breakfast sounds delicious Sazz. Sausage and egg butty for me please, with builders tea.

Better get the last cards written, 5 more sleeps till Christmas

AliEightMaidsAMilking · 20/12/2008 09:23

Morning all - another sleeping baby here - well sort of. Didn't fall asleep until gone midnight (we had friends over and he got massively overexcited...not anything to do with DP playing aeroplanes with him for about an hour...), but is still asleep.

Have been channelling my mother this morning (she is a complete domestic goddess and I bow down at her feet). So far have done huge pile of ironing, cleaned bathroom and spare room for friends coming tomorrow and made a boeuf bourguignonne which is sizzling away in the oven to have for dinner tomorrow night. One of the very very few recipes I actually follow to the letter, it's a PITA to make, hence making it this morning while Adam was sleeping, but is divine! Made it for a dinner party once and everyone was arguing over who could marry me . And half of them were female .

to everyone that needs them - sounds like a few people had a really rough day.

Cyteen read that clay cock thread and laughed myself silly. DP came in to find me barely able to breathe with tears running down my cheeks, laughing like a loon.

Right, time for breakfast..

sambo303mincepiesconsumed · 20/12/2008 09:49

sorry to buck the trend ladies but we had the worst night ever here. I am writing everything down as instructed by the Baby Whisperer to see if I can see what's going on and so far it all looks like a big fat mess.

introduced sneaky 9.30pm feed before 11.30pm dream feed in hopes of a breakthrough - DS up starving (or really thirsty?) at 2.17am, 4.12am and 5.30am.

Feel p off today cos of no sleep. DP p off and ultra grumpy. Totally sick of the whole thing now. Can someone please just come and sort this baby out for me?

And mother called last night to ask me to make a veggie lasagne for xmas eve - the veggie lasagne that takes 4 hours prep time (I stupidly volunteered last week)

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 20/12/2008 10:35

gah, sambo that sounds awful

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 20/12/2008 10:41

Sorry to hear of your crappy night Sambo . Hope today improves somewhat {{{{hugs}}}}

I have just expressed, given that i was feeling quite full as a result of reduced night feeding and got 7oz straight off . So DH will again be in charge from bath time onwards tonight (no bedtime cuddles for me but if it helps sleep so be it. DD1 was always a good sleeper and she always had a bottle of EBM in the evening to give DH some time bonding with her. With Emma refusing the bottle and me not bothering with expressing i had kind of forgotten this.....DOH!

BTW, if you want a topical laugh, have you seen the 'my DH forgot to book a hotel room thread' here

OP posts:
SazzlesIsASleighBell · 20/12/2008 10:44

cyteen you could try some baby nurofen as if he has pains in his tummy this may help reduce them. If you think it is more of a blocked tummy, i find me having OJ works quite well for getting Emma 'moving'

OP posts:
SazzlesIsASleighBell · 20/12/2008 10:48

I have just seen that Emma has properly found her thumb (finally) and is currently sat sucking it, watching Saturday kitchen! I have just taken a pic as it is very cute and will try and upload later

OP posts:
cyLENTeeNIGHT · 20/12/2008 10:57

thanks Sazz, think i will pop out and get some Calprofen later - only got Calpol 'in stock' and wasn't convinced it would help, but nurofen is more of an all-rounder. at least joe isn't blocked up, plenty of dirty nappies here

off to read the hotel room thread now...

NoroomattheCaveman · 20/12/2008 11:40

ali your domestic prowess makes me . I have come to the conclusion that I must be a lazy cow. In comparison I have got up with both ds's at 8am, given ds2 his porridge whilst reading the story on ds1's nintendo ds game, played said game for ds1, eaten my own breakfast, got ds2 to sleep, uploaded photos on to pc from camera, got dressed, and now I'm sitting here with wild, half towel dried hair . The ironing I started 3 days ago is still in a (neatly folded) pile on top of the ironing board!

cyteen how's Joe doing now?

morning everyone!

AndHeaVanAnnNatureSing · 20/12/2008 12:13

Hello all.
Sorry to hear of some rough nights (hugs) and good news about the good ones too.
Well in this house the baby slept, and I was awake coughing and coughing. Was definitely still awake at 5am. This is a truly horrible cold. Seb has it as well, although I'm hoping not as badly. He's coughing a bit, but seems far more cheerful than I currently am.
We're supposed to be going Christmas shopping today, but DP is still in bed So I'm guessing my present tally for christmas is going to match that of my birthday

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 20/12/2008 15:23

Hi Cavey, Joe is okay, thanks for asking DP has convinced me not to be such a fretful mum, pointing out that Joe is fine in himself, just a bit grumpy and moany. Everyone has off days so why should little ones be any different?

We will keep an eye on him and see what happens.

Ali think I may be channelling your mother as well - somehow today I have managed to:

  • vacuum and mop downstairs
  • finish cleaning the bathroom
  • scrub two sets of pooey baby clothes and put a wash on

and still find time to have a lie in, have a soak in the bath, read some of the paper and play with the baby. It's amazing the difference having DP home makes

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 20/12/2008 15:51

Not sure what is going on here - Emma has been asleep for nearly 3hrs on the sofa whilst i took DD1 swimming. Hopefully it is a growth spurt rather than start of an illness, or maybe the start of daytime naps for her [wishful thinking]

OP posts:
NoroomattheCaveman · 20/12/2008 16:02

I must be slovenly....

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 20/12/2008 16:12

LOL CC - i have only managed to hoover upstairs today and thought that was pretty good

OP posts:
cyLENTeeNIGHT · 20/12/2008 16:37

hehe, don't worry, the only reason i've done all that is because the house was a complete pit. anthea turner i am not (thank god).

no1putsantaupthechimney · 20/12/2008 16:41

sambo sorry you had rubbish night

aleight can smell that cooking from here.
cyteen I think marcus has been suffering with tummy ache, terrible nappies and been sick also and he is never sick.
Been better today though.
sazzles very of your 7oz expressed.
strange never thought I would be envious of something like that, how my life had changed
ann hope you are feeling better soon.
rotterpotter glad you had a good night too.
cavey I am the queen of slatterns just ask my dh and he will agree.
and I dont care one bit.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 20/12/2008 17:56

Would one of you in your cleaning frenzy please come and tend to my house? Tis in dire need of help.

{{{Sambo}}}} Hugs [just realized that was backwards but i'm leaving anyway. example of my day.]

Would like to say I'm very torn at the moment. I truly don't want the worry of a third child BUT would really like the wild thoughtless act that might produce one. Where's that SNIP-SNIP club sign up form PLeASE!!

OH and if anyone is in need of constant noise to keep their non-sleeping child entertained, I have the perfect solution....Will post dd1 to any of your free of charge. I've found there is a REASON I have her in school for 3 hours, 5 days a week. And if the constant talking doesn't help them maybe the constant poking to get attention will.

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 20/12/2008 19:01

hello all,
2 wake ups last night (and remember i had a baby who only woke once or else none at all until a week ago) 11.15 when he had one side, dozed and when i went to put him in bed he screamed LOUDLY, looking like he was in pain for AGES. Dh got home and found me and ds sobbing. We gave him nurofen, persuaded him to take the other breast and he went to sleep finally. I had to have a midnight cup of tea to recover.

then 4.30 but miraculously i was back in bed by 5.

dd was up at about 7.30 but e puut cbeebies on and slept on to ensure we weren;t feeling too rough roday.

why the feck is my baby turning into a wakey monster? is it the cold? teething (one hass broken through) being 21 weeks so nearing weaning?

ARGH!!!!!!

And my right nip is ouchy ouchy
