I will think about the nappies as it would be better to buy them here so now would be a good time to invest.

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 18/12/2008 22:08

i think reese will flip any day now. if she'd keep her hands out of her mouth she might have already flipped.

pintos.....just salt today since i want the pork to be the tastiest part.

SazzlesIsASleighBell · 18/12/2008 22:09

Ooh, i forgot to say, I was with a friend today whose baby is due on 27th of Dec and she had cleaned the kitchen cupboards out, had an irrational yearning to clear out her medicine cabinet , had back pain, dodgy tum and then some waves of tightening from back to front of bump which were 'kind of building'. I am VERY excited, although her last labour was 48hrs plus so she is not quite so excited

no1 - ?
sazzles - ?
pertelote - not a monday, prefer not a weds but could juggle if the 21st suits everyone else!
sambo - not wednesday morning

wednesday doesn't seem an ideal day so perhaps we should do Thursday 22nd
how does that sound?

dizzyjingles · 18/12/2008 22:28

I have a sore throat, a blocked nose threatening and 3 sleeping girls, one of whom may or may not be high as a kite on febreeze and drugged off her face on accidental overdose of medised

another successful day in the dixie household

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 18/12/2008 22:59

at least its only one DD affected by drugs.. first read it as one DD on febreze and other one on medised. so you see, it could be worse!
is dh working toniht?

dizzyjingles · 18/12/2008 23:02

I suppose, not having managed to drug all 3 should be celebrated as the success that it is

dh on nights, can you tell?!?

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 18/12/2008 23:04

exactly. the correct way to looj at isthat two aredrug free!

my dp away all week. its bloody hard and i've only got one DC. anyone with more with absent dp/dh is a goddess (even with accidental druggings!)

WeWishYouAMiamlaChristmas · 18/12/2008 23:06

AliEightMaidsAMilking · 19/12/2008 00:10

Hi all,

Had great weekend with parents, but things have been a bit mad since so have only skimmed the thread.

Re London meet-up, could do Wednesday 21st, or Tuesday 20th, but not Thursday 22nd. Second half of January can only do Tuesdays and Wednesdays as am back at work part-time ...

TwilightSurferChristmasAngel · 19/12/2008 03:39

Ali that Valium thing sounds EXACTLY like my MIL who I am POSITIVE drugged her 3 boys in order to have a moment.

I am stuffing my face with a HUGE cinnamon roll and drinking a lovely tall glass of milk. This I earned going out this evening to get all of DH's work gifts because he wants to do the gifts thing tomorrow. I thought I had the weekend to take care of those. OH WELL...it scored me four hours of FORCED SHOPPING without dcs.

I feel like Reese is behind on the rolling over bit. Goodness!!

And lastly I purchased Reese a Bumbo. Bloody expensive!! I was able to justify it after seeing the picture of the baby sitting in it on the beach happily playing with beach toys.....we are going to the beach in a few months. Still BLOODY EXPENSIVE! The good thing is now I shouldn't have to hold Reese while I feed her. YEAH!

Wishing everyone good sleeps.
Night

ataraxmas · 19/12/2008 06:57

Morning! I seem to remember, about 10 days ago, promising to catch up . But in the interim, i have pretty much glossed the skirting boards in the entire house... and we have CARPETS!!! . Only hall, stairs and landing carpet to go (Tuesday). We have lived without for so long, that the day after we got them in the lounge, DS2 on his way back from nursery said 'do we still have the carpets mummy?' .
And this morning I have cleaned out the fridge already (it was sooooo scummy that I just couldn't bear it - nice 6am job).

dizzy, sorry to hear your are feeling rough, congrats on the car. We need a new one too, hoping for a christmas lottery miracle

ali at the valium. Can't even begin to imagine 2 sets of twins, but that is just scary.

DD was weighed yesterday - 10lb6. She is tracking the 2nd centile fine, HV keeps saying to me 'that's ok you know'. Um, yes, I haven't had one over the 9th, so wasn't expecting much else, but you go ahead and reassure yourself love .

Bit TMI - trying to get a coil sorted, but our surgery doesn't have a doctor who will do it at the mo, and the local family planning place doesn't seem to answer it's phone - what is that all about? So much for hassle free, fun filled christmas nights .

Last day of school today, and so the madness begins...

dingdongmerrilyfromhome · 19/12/2008 07:11

morning all. DS awake at 10.30, 1 and 4, so I guess that this means a good night. Has been playing with his granny for the last half hour. Hurrah for grandparents! I return I am going to make their address book electronic.

ataraxmas · 19/12/2008 07:42

Fuck, fuck, fuck... put the fridge stuff in the dishwasher to give it a really good long clean - but also put in an old jar of tomato paste... orange fridge stuff! Any ideas how to get tomato stains off plastic?

NoroomattheCaveman · 19/12/2008 08:14

hmmm atarxmas I did read that somewhere, or maybe I dreamt it? Either way I'm not much help to you am I

Only 1 wakeup here last night, heaven knows what time it was, I just plugged him in and went back to sleep

O doing the same as Reece TS, he gets almost on to his front but his arm gets in the way

Hope you soon feel better dizzy sazzles you are dead right about tea - it must be HOT, strong, a splash of milk and NO SUGAR. Perfect. In fact I will now have to go and make myself a cup!

SevenRottersPottering · 19/12/2008 09:31

Ataraxmas sorry Idon't have any suggestions for your orange fridge furniture, what a bugger. My fridge is getting a bit furry but I think I'll leave it now!

Have been lurking again, the whole getting ready for Christmas thing on top of 3 4 or even 5 wake-ups every night have been really doing my head in . Still, he only woke up once last night after I had dreamfed him at midnight so feeling positively human today. Am wondering whether the sleepiness was caused by milk liberally spiked with San Miguel after a lovely boozy afternoon with work colleagues, if so how long before I can do it again

We have been swimming a couple of times with Isaac, he has one of those inflatable rings with a little hammock seat in it, and a neoprene bodysuit like this (hope the link worked).
It's absolutely brilliant and stops him from getting cold, and we were in the pool for an hour and a half both times. The first time he even fell asleep!

Hurrah for all the rolling babies . Perhaps all that exercise will tire them out...

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 19/12/2008 09:57

I have finally done all my Xmas shopping! Got some Aussie gift vouchers for my SIL, found a gadget for my dad (electricity montitor) and am about to phone up for annual passes to Marwell Zoo for my two (was feeling guilty they didn't have anything exciting from us.) I will get in free as DS1's carer but DH will have to pay for himself LOL, can't afford any more pressies for him.

I am counting my blessings today, we have benefited from the most negative things this year. As well as the financial pluses DS1's diagnosis has brought, the credit crunch has brought our mortgage premium down by a third. And (just to be reeeeeally mercenary,) who knows maybe FIL's real mum is loaded and will want to overcompensate when she hears he has tracked her down.

at valium story! I NEVER drug my kids in the daytime.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 19/12/2008 10:19

at valium
dizzy hope youe are ok this morning.
I had another rough night but wont bore with the details, I think I have had about 5 hours sleep in 3 days.
Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!! so sympathy to all with repeat night wakings and snotty babies

Sorry no advice on orange fridge. (think vinegar is good for lots of things maybe that too.)

Dh done last night shift, so is in bed, hopefully will get some rest(likely)

sorry not much to say tooooo tired.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 19/12/2008 10:22

oh and as for rolling, i now feel guilty as his play gym is in his cot upstairs, as its the only place he gets to use it in peace.
(away from dd)
so not very often lays on floor (how cruel am i) so dont think he can roll yet.

makes me realize now how little i am actualy at home.

no1putsantaupthechimney · 19/12/2008 10:24

i meant hopefully I will get some rest seeing as he at home for 2 days, but doubt it.

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 19/12/2008 11:05

morning all [bleary eyed] dunno wtf was going on last night but joe was up every hour from 11pm, ravenous it's times like these that make me wish i liked coffee.

ataraxmas sympathies on the cleaning - i have only just realised that the house is a slum (having a baby is a great excuse not to look too closely at things) and have resolved to sort it out. kitchen bin degunked yesterday, and this morning i managed half a bathroom clean and some vacuuming during joe's standard half hour nap have been doubly spurred on by the disgusting fatigue-induced dream i had at 5am in which a giant cockroach appeared in our house and laid hundreds of vile cockroach babies - they were all over joe's face my brain is not a friend to me sometimes.

back shortly - stinky baby to change

NoroomattheCaveman · 19/12/2008 11:16

cyteen I live in a slum (or thats what it feels like!), and I keep expecting to discover a family of gypsies have moved in under the stairs its so messy.
I've made a pact with myself to clean the kitchen every day (which I do anyway) plus one other room. thats not too much....

Going out for lunch today with 2 antenatal friends from 1st pg - can't believe our little ones all start school next month so this will be our last Friday-play-day for some time

no1putsantaupthechimney · 19/12/2008 11:20

lol at your weird dreams.
Lol at family of gypsies.

I have dh 'big clean' looming today when he wakes up. Think nhe should get on with it with both dc to see to aswell, while I go sleep out somewhere and sit and have a quiet cup of tea and a whole small slice of cake.
Must express so I can actually leave Ds anywhere somewhere.

Oh and must try more often with a bottle too.
