Well I shut Baby Sputnik's little finger in the door today
So we spent the morning in A&E, which is 40 minutes drive away over a dodgy mountain road.
Anyway, after all the x-rays and waiting about and everything they said to leave it as it was, then changed their minds and put a splint for protection. Poor thing the tip was broken off (I knew it was broken as I heard the crunch ).
I am a bad mummy.
Why is there never any chocolate in the house when you need it?

Daisy glad you're getting the bf sorted.

Holly sounds like you're doing all you can, but that's a shit that your DP's company will basically get away with it.

Yes they said it would only take 5 days or so to meld back.

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2008 14:41

oh, poor baby sputnik

I have been outside . There's a whole world out there.....but mine only included a trip to Tesco and then the podiatrist with DD........who had the biggest paddy of her short life whilst there; it was embarrasing.

DS2 has been good as gold today.

On offer in Tesco; but 3 bars of G&B chocolate and you get the G&B chocolate recipe book free.

Holly, got your KC bags. I tried to sneak some in for myself but DH was with me so no go. I had to show him the texts to get your two past him. I don't know what his problem is ; better a £3.50 reuseable carrier fetish then £70 Radley bags. Men just DO NOT GET IT.

Ohforfoxsake · 11/11/2008 14:49

Ouch! baby Sputnik! Hope you are both OK.

Shitty shite Holly. Still worth threatening them with an IT. They might shit themselves and cough up pay in lieu of notice.

That really sucks. Tell us who they are and we'll send them nappies through the post.

Fuckers.

Am off to see if that G&B offer is online too. That'll be another Christmas pressie done.

The books and chocolate bars were on a separate stand near the door in our local tesco storm.

educatingRia · 11/11/2008 15:34

that would have been a good prezzie for Dsis, but I've already got her something.

It's freezing here.

DH has just gone on his fortnightly pilgrimage to the JC

Hi all, just popping in vv quickly to take advantage of an empty flat (DH and DD at MILs) and going to get on with some writing.

I'm literally cringing in sympathy for poor baby sputnik. And poor sputnik, get some wine down you girl and you'll soon forget about it. Still, if you mention another incident we might call the italian SS.... How is he now? broken fingers are my 'thing', the thought makes me want to vomit! Hope you are all ok.

Holly, shitey mcshite for your DP. My advice when he gets his next job is join the union ASAP. They've been really good for DH, though still no nes about our IT. His ex company are dragging their feet, plotting their way out. Tossers. Still, your DH has fallen on his feet with his last two jobs hasn't he? He get another one v soon.

So, in between working full time, writing a Booker Prize winning journal, playing football, baking and getting back to my pre pg weight (yes yes yes, thank fuck for that - finally!) I am also joining a Roller Derby Team, I'm tres excited about it!

Right, loving you and leaving you, I am occasionally lurking. Hope you are all ok.

DD has eaten half a crayon

she'll be OK won't she? We'll just get bits of blue in her nappy tomorrow and no harm done? I can't call NHS Direct again as this will be the fourth eating incident since she was about 9mo old and they will wonder whether I'm qualified to look after children!!! (never mind that it was DHs watch this time!)

I think crayons are ok.
Baby Sputnik is surprisingly ok, if a bit clingy, and occasionally he holds his finger and looks pained. I'm feeling a bit headachy so it might be paracetamol all round later. Not sure what to do as we're out of food as I was supposed to be going to the supermarket, plus I have to go and pick up DH from the station later around dinner time. Maybe we'll have a pizza.

Bumper bloody well done on the weight loss, I am very . I can do it for a while but then something happens, tiredness hits and I just want to eat. Then I'm back to square 1 .

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 11/11/2008 17:30

Well done on everything Bumper!!!

Sputnik - sympathy to you and baby sputnik. ~My Mum trapped my finger in the door, by the hinge, when I was about 12. @The more I shruk, the harder she tried to close the door

OK, DH's friend arriving now, so prob this is me done for the night.

Sputnik · 11/11/2008 17:49

Yes that's what I did, he was by the hinge (not trying to shut the door harder!)

I slammed the car door on my own finger once too.

Bleugh sputnik! Stop with the stores all of you or I'll vomit on the keyboard and will never be able to come back!

Just doing research on my novel, can't spend too much time doing that though, I just have to write furiously. 19,000 words! More than both my BSc and MSc dissertations combined!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 11/11/2008 18:13

I did issue a warning first!

LackaDAISYcal · 11/11/2008 19:39

jammy, I did that with DS in the hinge of the car door when he was about two and a half

well done on the weight loss bumper. I am below my prepregnancy weight already , but I lost lots at the start of the pregnancy and want to get back to my pre DD DS1 weight.

blimey bumper, you're one busy person.
poor baby sputnik.
No stupid advice for DH today thank goodness. I made fish pie for tea. I had roasted veg with harissa (don't like fish). My mum and dad have a nice home-cooked ready meal tomorrow anyway, and DH enjoyed it. Will stick to feeding the children sausages

Bumperlicious · 11/11/2008 20:59

Storm, it's pretty much no editing at all, yet, which is really hard. Well done on the weight daisy. How's that bubba?

Is the sputnik household at peace yet?
