HI ANNOBAL, CAN YOU HEAR ME DOWN UNDER??!! How the devil are you? How is the house and how are the DSs settling in? xxx

Glad you stuck to your guns daisy, you are great! Hope the feeding gets easier, I'm sure it will. Are you on crappy iron tablets? They always make me feel awful and give me black poo!! Hope your poo isn't black !

Hi everyone else xxx

HollyWeen · 04/11/2008 08:50

Ooops, I need to get rid of the Halloween name. Is it too early for a Christmas one?

annobal · 04/11/2008 08:59

COOEEE HOLLY. Things great here. DS1 at school, DS2&3 in childcare (DM) as I am working . How are your gorgeous LOs?

Forgot about those horrid iron tablets. Hope you get better really soon Daisy.

HollyWeen · 04/11/2008 09:05

Wow, are you working ft? How is it? Glad the DS's are well, how is DH getting on with being an Aussie? We are fine here. Ds is mental, dd is 3 going on 13, but it's all good fun!

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 09:08

hi annobal, good to have you back

a NIGHT OUT jammy???

Poor old Clarkson, I think there may be a BBC witch-hunt by another channel to get all the good BBC people sacked so the other company can then employ them on a vastly reduced salary..

annobal · 04/11/2008 09:18

Working 3 days a week - am LOVING it (it's at a posh golf club in marketing). We're settling in - DH is coming to terms with being an Aussie - probably helped by having lots of expat friends.

We're having a night away on Sat - going to a wedding - they're getting married on the beach about an hour away and we're all staying down there (apart from DCs - they're with the DPs ).

annobal · 04/11/2008 09:21

Hi Ria. What's going on with Clarkson? I do like him.

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 09:22

here annobal. I like the quote at the end. Of course we expect him to say stuff like this.

HollyWeen · 04/11/2008 09:23

That sounds great annobal, my dp would love me to get a job like that so he could play free golf!! The wedding sounds cool, that's one reason why I would love to live in Oz, you get to do cool things on the beach! Hope you have a lovely time.

Yes ria, what is going on with Mr. Clarkson?

HollyWeen · 04/11/2008 09:26

Oh God, this BBC political correctness thing is going mental. Soon there will be no jokes on the Beeb at all. Though I think he should prob get a slap on the wrist for that one, maybe it was a bit of a silly thing to joke about.

annobal · 04/11/2008 09:26

How's DH getting on Ria?

annobal · 04/11/2008 09:33

Takes a while for my crappy connection to work! What do they expect? IT'S JEREMY CLARKSON! Do you think it is part of Mr Brown's evil plan to rule the Beeb .

Don't be too Holly, it is about the only thing to do, that or go to the zoo...

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 09:38

he's still at home annobal, waiting for a biopsy to see if he has a bone infection. I'm bored now (so is he come to that)

Nothing as exciting as weddings on beaches here, or even trips to the zoo

I don't suppose it occured to anyone it was an anniversary. Apparently the murderer wasn't a lorry driver when he killed most of them anyway. Silly thing to say, but it is Clarkson, no one bothers much really do they? It is a bit odd how it's all the more popular people that are getting in trouble don't you think? Maybe it is parliament worrying there is something in the Clarkson for PM campaign

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 09:39

need to go find something to do. Lead by example (DH was thinking he might go back to bed again. I am thinking not)

annobal · 04/11/2008 09:52

I'd vote for him

Hope DH gets better soon - poor thing.

HollyWeen · 04/11/2008 10:19

Hope dh is ok ria.

Annobal, what is happening in Neighbours?

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 11:11

I'd vote for him too. James May for Secretary of Culture (is there such a thing?)

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 11:31

Bloody marvellous birth story Daisy!

Hello lovely Annobal! How are you? Sounds like life down under suits you

Farking BBC. I think Mark Thompson is a knob with no balls. That is my personal opinion, and in no way reflects the opinions or views of this website

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 11:45

Eurgh. I feel awful. Can't shake off this stomach bug.

And now I'm all alone on here

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/11/2008 12:05

Just read Daisy's birth thread: great reading! I say it again - well done you! And glad that you've not been on MN all morning, means that there's a chance that you've been resting. You've reminded me how and I am though that hosp here persuaded me to give jamlet formula when she was 12h old. [tries to avoid making a long rant of it] I just have to concentrate on the fact that she DID BF and all was well in the end. WOuld think twice next time though.

Jamlet had a great day at her new nursery in the end I've got a drawing scribble up on my office wall now, and they say that after half an hour of cuddles she got on with playing and had a fab time. She howled again at drop off this morning, but I am told she had calmed down by the time I got to the car, so fingers crossed she's loving it again.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/11/2008 12:06

Sorry you are so poorly Foxy. And sorry I missed saying that in main post

HollyWeen · 04/11/2008 12:42

She is not sleeping jammy, she has just posted on her birth thread!! Bad daisy!

The formula thing is just awful. MWs are fucking obsessed with it! I was speaking to another peer supporter yesterday at the school gates. She has been volunteering on the PN wards and said that the MWs are just giving out formula willy nilly to almost all mothers. She saw a 4 hour old baby at the weekend who had been filled up with 50 mls of formula in one sitting and his mother was bfing. She tried to explain that the baby didn't need that much milk as his tummy was the size of a walnut, but it fell on deaf ears! There is no chance of changing the mind set of parents of the HCPs are just going to piss all over everything we do.

Rant over!

Foxy, sorry you are feeling (literally) shitty. Hope you get better soon. Have you been to the dr? You've been ill for a while now haven't you?

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 12:55

And its about having the confidence to stand up to the HCPs and say no to their advice. As a first time mum its incredibly hard to question the 'professionals' when you question yourself every second of the day.

Holly, have you seen Tesco have reduced Peppa Pig toys? Does DD still like The Pig?

LackaDAISYcal · 04/11/2008 12:57

I am resting

I was offered formula unnecessarily by six different HCPs over our few days. MWs were the best actually, telling everyone it was unnecessary. I was also fed up being asked when he was due a feed....erm when hewakes up for one. I suppose it was a bit different as being on the transitional care ward meant that a lot of the babies need extra care and are on strict feeding schedules. But, all the neonatal nurses seemed very pro formula. One asked how he was doing as I was feeding him and when I explained he was struggling with getting latched on she asked "do you want me to get you some formula?" rather than "do you want me to get someone to help?"

It has given me some ideas for volunteering/support groups needed in the hospital itself.

MW over this morning and the young man latched on and fed beautifully . they always do with an audience don't they? He is a bit sleepy and jaundiced and has a funny rash (MW said it looked like erythema 9sp?), but have googeld and that is slapped cheek? surely he can't have that already??)

DH has gone to get MIL as she hasn't seen him yet. She called this morning and was all "i thought I was coming to see him on Sunday" and when I said I wasn't well enough for visitors she actually said "I wasn't coming to visit you though" . she is a witch.

back to resting.......sorry all me me me will catch up soon I promise.

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 12:58

How are things chez Jammy? Hows DHs job hunting going?
