Hello

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 13:00

at your MIL Daisy

OK, back to bed with you.

yeah, sure, you can't resist the lure of MN [winkn]

HollyWeen · 04/11/2008 13:35

Thanks foxy! Dd is hankering after the hide and seek PP. I may have to get it for her now!

Daisy, your MIL sounds charming!! Ds was sleepy because of jaundice and I had to keep waking him to feed. The jaundice does make them sleep a lot. Sort of good, but I couldn't sleep for worrying, so pretty pointless really!!

Get back to bed with your scrummy bundle and have some naked cuddling!!

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 13:51

what am I going to do with 10 6/7 year old boys on DS1s birthday? Two hours. HEEEEELP!

and DP is away.

FrazzledFairyFay · 04/11/2008 13:59

Holly, Sputnik, Annobal, Natty and Andiem - pls check your facebook

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 14:02

how life Fairyfay?

FrazzledFairyFay · 04/11/2008 14:09

Pah Foxy, you know very well that I've already 'spoken to you'

Life's ok thanks. DD hasn't had an accident for nearly 10 days. She has had a chest infection though and has spent a lot of time on the sofa watching CBeebies , for purely recuperative purposes of couse. DS is his usual chaotic self.

Our move is definitely going ahead and we have a van and some of Dh's friends booked for this Saturday to stat moving some of our junk valuable posessions out so that our house looks less cluttered. We're then going to get a handyman in for a day to do a bit of sprucing up before it goes on the market. I had to tell my best Mummy friends, DD's pre-school and DS' childminder yesterday and I confess to quite a few tears.

How's the vomiting? Are you feeling any better? It sounds like things ahve been pretty miserable in the Foxy household

FrazzledFairyFay · 04/11/2008 14:10

Dealing with 10 small boys is a scary thought indeed Foxy

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 14:11

How do you feel about leaving London Fairy?

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 14:45

sorry you're ill foxy.

at your MIL daisy, and all MWs everywhere, apart from the ones at our hospital - I never heard any of them pushing FF, they must be pro BF, and our hospital is supposed to be shit. And it is the teen PG capital of the world here

so, DH didn't go back top bed, he decided "we" needed to do housework. We arenow sitting having a cup of tea and admiring the tidyness before the boys get to it. At least it's so cold in the conservatory it has a chance of staying tidy for a few days! He is making noises about moving furniture tomorrow

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 15:21

It's cold, grey, wet and miserable here. Am counting the minutes til the heating comes on.

Have to go and ice my Dads cake and clean the kitchen now. No rest...

I know I'm a bit dim, but who is PS on FB?

Sputnik · 04/11/2008 15:26

That was quick Fairy, when will you actually be moving?

Foxy, my sympathies with this bug.

Sorry I missed Annobal last night, hope she's back soon.

Sputnik · 04/11/2008 15:30

Annobal Ria.

Grey and miserable here too, although it was actually pretty warm yesterday. Weird weather. Your Goth day sounds good btw, I was quite a hardcore goth/punk back in the times of the dinosaurs.

They are pretty good on bf in the hospitals here IME, certainly no one coming round offering it where I was.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/11/2008 18:05

at Daisy's MIL.

too at how quickly Fairy's move seems to be progressing (or did I read it all wrong?)

The thing that really got me about being offered Formula in hospital was that they came through about 6am and said Jamlet had a problem and might need surgery. Then they said that if they could get some fluid into her it might be avoided, so could they give her formula. (She'd BF a bit after the birth and had then slept all night due to jaundice, I was so proud of having a baby sleeping through so early ) Like Foxy said as a first time mum I wasn't strong enough to argue and you can imagine that compared to surgery, a little formula didn't seem like a problem. But it soon became clear that nothing was going to avoid surgery Sorry, I was trying to avoid a rant

DH and his colleagues are setting up their own company, working for Microsoft to finish one of the projects that the old company was doing. This gives 6 months work at least

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 18:15

for DH jammy, a bit of sunshine on the horizon at least, will look good on his CV and gives a bit of security while he's finding something.

Can I ask what jamlet had done jammy? Not fair of them to try that on you.

HCPs really need to be more neutral. It is wrong to of them to push FF, but in the same breath it would be wrong of them to tell someone they shouldn't FF when they didn't want to BF or if they were really struggling to the point of making them and LO suffer. IMPARTIAL SUPPORT FOR MUM'S CHOICES, that's what they should be offering. Rose tinted specs hey???

Am off to take cake to my Dad now

TALLULAHBELLE · 04/11/2008 18:34

Evening folks. Sorry I missed you Annobal. How is Adelaide? Whereabouts you living?

Hope you're feeling better in time for the party Foxy.

Glad the Jamlet settling @ nursery.

@ Daisy's MIL.

Ohforfoxsake · 04/11/2008 18:53

I think its easier to give formula than time, sadly.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/11/2008 19:40

Ria, Jamlet had to have a transfusion to replace some of her blood with saline. She had far too high a concentration of red blood cells apparently. I'm not entirely sure how they did it, as we were advised not to watch as it was a "distressing procedure" but they went in via her umbilicus, and it took a few hours. She had a couple of days in an SCBU where she received ABs and a feed by tubes (I also went in with expressed milk which they gave her via a syringe in the 1st day and then they would take her out of the incubator so i could try BF the 2nd day), and she was under lights for jaundice. Was a bit but we felt SO lucky, as compared to the other babies in the unit Jamlet was doing really well.

Riallybigbangandflash · 04/11/2008 19:56

poor little thing. that must be an awful thing to go through. glad she's bounced back.

my dad liked his cake

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 04/11/2008 19:59

Glad your Dad liked his cake Ria.
Just got a packet of fresh pasta out of the fridge, best before today, has been in fridge about 10 days, and it's mouldy! Unfortunately threw it in the bin before I thought of taking it to the supermarket to complain So now waiting while I cook dried pasta from the cupboard instead.
