Thought as the messages were coming in thick & fast I´d start new thread. Don´t know if it´ll work though. Fingers crossed.

LadyBee · 21/10/2008 23:11

Lord you lot can talk! This thread was only started this morning wasn't it? There are 4 pages already....

VS will not be the same without you, hurry back m'dear

Peachy, wish I had a fabulous suggestion for protecting Bas from marauding dss, but nothing has sprung to mind. Must be something...

Sal. Poor you. Poor DH. Hope R escapes the lurgy.

Hi Theirmum, sorry to hear you're still suffering the pnd - are you getting any counselling or other help? Tuesdays are my counselling days, so normally feel pretty rough after that (sessions usually see me crying about 4 times at least in the hour), and then often a big (damp) chat with DP at some stage after. I do think it's helping though, certainly DP had no idea of anything that I was feeling and it's helped me to be able to talk it through with counsellor and then be able to repeat that (abridged) with DP.

Who was it with mucky eye? Benedict has this, I was told that sometimes the tear duct isn't completely open so the tears don't drain away properly. I think you can very gently massage the side of their nose/inner eye with your little finger to help it open - if your baby will cooperate. B won't tolerate it, but his is much better now.

DP is giving me a foot massage. It's bliss

LadyBee · 21/10/2008 23:12

oh..by dss I meant ds plural but it looks like step son doesn't it..oops.

ThePFJ · 22/10/2008 09:24

Elllllllllllllllllllllllllllllieeeeeeeee!!!!!

Hope Molly gets better.
DP is out working again today. This swanning about at home lark with baby is getting quite interesting....

Am out of milk. Bugger.
Looks like I might have to get Jack into that 'a bit too big because he'll grow into it' all-in-one coat I bought him and cart him to the shops this morning.

This will be the 3rd time he's worn it. He cries when I put him in it and then spends the rest of the time scowling at me from the depths of the oversized furry hood.

Jack has also discovered the 'Squeak' noise. High pitch for preference, followed by a bout of blowing raspberries at people. How quaint.

Right, off to the shops. Will make pot of tea for all you morning people when I get back...

MommyHasaHeadache · 22/10/2008 10:31

Am I under dressing my baby? All she wears when we go out is what she is already wearing (obviously! lol) and her little raincoat cos I didn't think it was cold enough yet for a proper jacket, nevermind an all in one! Hmm bad mommy! Will start putting her in her (slightly too big as well) warm winter jacket in future, and have a look at the all in ones!

ThePFJ · 22/10/2008 10:44

Woolworths have nice ones on sale at the moment.

Thanks Denny and LB will try the massage LB even though touching near peoples eyes freaks me out. Will do it for Jack's sake... >.

ThePFJ · 22/10/2008 10:57

MHH all I know is that its REALLY cold outside here in Derbyshire in the mornings and evenings, and I want something for Jack to wear if we go out on bonfire night...

scorpio1 · 22/10/2008 11:03

MHAH - its really cold here, Mimi has a proper coat, am buying an all in onwe on the weekend. its soooo funky, will have to take a pick of her in it!

Off out for dinner with friends tonight and a bit of wine

Mimi did 12 hours again - seems to have sorted. Next phase - bottle taking.

Peachy · 22/10/2008 12:03

It's not so cold here, but bAs still wears an all in one now because he hasnt got any fat to insulate him. Only the last few days- school run can get chilly.

Scorpio we're in Cornwall May Bank Holiday- if you don't go away I will suggest a visit to DH if you want?

has anyone any opinions on this for an award? deffo black tie- Dh ahs to hire a tux.

Just bought some present for Christmas - e each get the boys something then they get stuff from Santa; I did mine today- a leather jacket for ds1 (who asked for a cool jacket), a bath bubble machine for ds3, a tunes toothbrush and a tin of plastic fish (yeah I know but he loves fish) for ds2 and a bath robe and bedtime book for Bas.

SalLikesCoffee · 22/10/2008 12:05

Hello all. Ok, dh and I back to normal (if a little tired), but I suspect MommyHasaHeadache has jinxed me, as R's tummy rather runny all morning . Though, no vomiting (yet), so maybe it's just his teeth. So much for my request of 2 teeth only. He's not even one yet and already not listening...

Am of you, Ladybee, having a foot massage while mn'ing!!! My dh obviously misunderstands the situation, I'll need to bring him up to date with The Way Things Should Be tonight!

I have to admit I haven't changed to proper winter outfits either. We're running out of milk too (seems to be a running theme this morning), so I might pop into Woolworths on the way back.

Scorpio, great news re Mimi! Maybe if I whisper in R's ears what the "cool kids" are doing lately he'll follow???

scorpio1 · 22/10/2008 12:09

Peachy - Yes deffo that would be lovely!

scorpio1 · 22/10/2008 12:09

We are right at the bottom thou - Pz

SalLikesCoffee · 22/10/2008 12:10

Hi peachy. Sorry, slow typing here. I like that dress, it's something different.

Oh, and the christmas gifts sounds great. Every year I plan to buy in advance but never quite get around to it. Might start looking around.

scorpio1 · 22/10/2008 12:12

Peachy - what would you wear with it? I do like it, but i think its quite pale and if you are too.... ?

Peachy · 22/10/2008 12:29

The colour was warmer in the shop, and unlike most tings I have seen that aren't black it would go with my red hair. besides there's bronzer LOL - its only an option, there's a few to try on

I migt try it on Friday with DH (he's paying)- i've seen a crweam furry shrug and that's go nicely wouldn't it? And heels obv,- I saw some nice dark purpley ones- yummm- not obvious choice but would go well

Scorpio I know where you are, I shall make dh drive lol.

ThePFJ · 22/10/2008 12:49

Peachy I agree with scorpio.. I always go for deep reds/blues/greens and so on, or good old black. :P Love the cut and design though and if you can carry off pale colours then go for it.

Jack just scared me by having a very warm head... if he gets a kidney infection I am told this would be very serious so I have to keep a close eye on him. Just took his temp with a forehead strip and then with a thermometer under his arm and then in his mouth... 37.6 degrees... so hopefully thats ok. Will have to monitor him as he has a very runny bottom atm (well runnier than usual) and is uncomfortable alot the last few days.

At least I know the drill now: Take temp... if temp over 38 degrees get emergency doc appointment..pack bag with fresh knickers, clean clothes and baby clothes (hospital feed baby so no formula required)...take baby to doc...if doc says temp is bad ambulance comes to pick us up...sit in hospital for a few days waiting for test results...get treatment...then calm down....

phew.

Peachy · 22/10/2008 12:52

PFJ do keep an eye- the ds's have all had a nasty bug that starts like that and did cause a lot of kidney pain, think its going roud atm.

Just so you know!

ThePFJ · 22/10/2008 12:55

Thanks Peachy ...will become hawk like in my baby watching.
