Thought as the messages were coming in thick & fast I´d start new thread. Don´t know if it´ll work though. Fingers crossed.

LOL PFJ I seem to do nothing but cut Sam's nails. He has this nasty habit when he's tired of putting his hands over his face then clenching them together, which of course leaves great big gouges in his face! Great to hear your DP's working Do you think the cats are trying to tell you something??? Maybe they want you to buy them some catnip!!

ThePFJ · 21/10/2008 14:07

You know what... I thought there was something I forgot. The Cosmic Catnip I usually put in a sock for them. Thanks Soph!

FrankenSoph73 · 21/10/2008 14:27

Thanks - do you know I think that's the most use I've been so far this week

Afternoon all, hello theirmum glad ur seeing some light at the end of the tunnel with the pnd and having some good days.

Nice pics, costume like something out of pirates of the carribean (sp?)

Peachy hope you find a solution soon for your sanity as well as boys safety.

VS will this be your first experience of nights over the weekend?

Yes Soph I did say xmas shopping, I have a passionate hate of shops in Dec so like to have it done early. I spent last night decorating gift boxes (dh was on nights so by self after 9.30 and bored last night)

I went swimming this am for the first time in months (proper swimming with no kids I mean)

FrankenSoph73 · 21/10/2008 14:57

Denny I know what you mean but I always seem to find myself in the shops in Dec desperately searching for pressies & I vow every year to get more organised - sigh!! I know what you mean about the costume. My mum sent it from England. DS1 just wanted to be a skeleton but mum found this and he's now a very happy bunny It's Hallowe'en on Friday at school because next week's half term - yippee

So he can use the costume twice, DD desperate to go to the local ghost walk next Friday but think we will still be travelling back from Wales.

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 21/10/2008 15:10

Hi theirmum, nice to hear you're feeling better.

Yes, Denny, he does 4pm-12 thursday and then 8pm-4am friday and saturday. He has four rest days after though so at least I get to see him then.

KnitterInTheNW · 21/10/2008 15:24

Ugh, I'm exhausted... Got the viewing in about half an hour, and the house is clean but there are a few piles of stuff around. I've done as much as I can, and it's an investor coming to look so he'll be able to see past stuff. If he can't, tough!

G had a better night last night sort of, but with the aid of calpol night. He went to bed at 7, didn't settle properly til calpol about 40 mins lter. Woke at 3:30, gave more calpol and a feed, awake for at least an hour, little monkey. I eventually fed him again and he slept until about 8.

Got him weighed this morning, he's 16lb 11 now.

I've started our xmas shopping too, my maternity allowance has finished so we're having to tighten our belts, and get a few pressies each month to spread the cost.

George is having a late fancy dress halloween party the week after halloween for his friends that we know through the NCT classes. Fancy dress entirely for the mum's benefit of course! I have a skeleton babygro that one of my past charges had, and I inherited. I can't wait! I'll make some halloweeny snacks for us too. Or buy them from the supermarket if I don't get a chance to make them!

FrankenSoph73 · 21/10/2008 15:26

Denny - no he'll only wear it once because on the actual Hallowe'en, although the children in our area do trick or treat he doesn't know any of them & even if he did he's normally in bed before they come round I don't think there's anything arranged locally for the children & I'm not sure how to find out.

FrankenSoph73 · 21/10/2008 15:28

Knitter - best of luck with the viewing. My mum was going to get Sam a baby Hallowe'en costume but they only had newborn sizes & there's definitely no way he'd fit into them now!!!! He's going for his 6 mnth check-up & jabs tomorrow so will find out how much he´s put on over the last couple of months

Good Luck Knitter, will cross toes for you. xxx

KnitterInTheNW · 21/10/2008 15:34

Thankyou!! I'm not even sure what we'll do if they want to buy the house, DH's work are going to have to make some redundancies after xmas so we can't risk moving somewhere bigger just yet. He said if we sell, we could prob move into a rented place for now and the interest on the house money would pretty much cover the rent. At least then we'd be in a position to swoop if the house prices come right down rather than waiting til then for someone to buy ours.

FrankenSoph73 · 21/10/2008 16:05

Sounds like a plan Knitter. That's what friends of ours are doing at the moment. They've sold their house here and are renting in the same street. They want to move back to England next year so they can get their PGCE's and then decide where they're going to settle.

Is it common for a baby to have one really weepy eye? Really full of sleep in the mornings and clear fluid in the day?

HV says yes, but any commemts are welcome.

SalLikesCoffee · 21/10/2008 17:40

Hi all. I've had a shitty day. Quite literally. I think I poisoned dh and myself with dinner last night, and we've been in various toilet-embrasing positions since. Urgh. Feeling relatively stable (as in no vomiting or worse, but still cramping) now. And the world's worst headache - am probably dehydrated.

Poor R has been in either his jumper or Lobsterpot for most of the day, poor thing. And luckily he had 2 big naps today too, which helped a lot. Oh, I really hope it was food poisoning and not a d&v bug, as I can't deal with him having it now just yet.

I was also supposed to meet up with someone this morning, but had to cancel in the light of being rather unpresentable!

What a day.

Hope all yours ended up better.

scorpio1 · 21/10/2008 17:50

oh goodness, hope you get better!

What is a lobster pot?

SalLikesCoffee · 21/10/2008 17:56

Thanks Scorpio.

It's my pet name for this Graco entertainer. A friend of mine is on a 2 month holiday (lucky thing!!!) and she lent me hers. I thought I'd never want one as they're taking up so much space, but it is brilliant.

scorpio1 · 21/10/2008 17:57

ahh they look fun!

SalLikesCoffee · 21/10/2008 18:00

It's great for when you need your hands free, as the toys are good. When MommyHasaHeadache was over the other day Gigi seemed to love it too! I'm quite tempted to buy one myself when I get back from holiday.

KnitterInTheNW · 21/10/2008 18:02

haha Sal, we've been given one of those too... G is the 4th baby to use it. Ours is the crustacean station!

SalLikesCoffee · 21/10/2008 18:03

hehehe, love your name for it, knitter.

KnitterInTheNW · 21/10/2008 18:05

Ours can't be the lobster pot, cos the lobster snapped off...

SalLikesCoffee · 21/10/2008 18:07

I started off by calling it the Octopus Pot and got childish entertainment out of the "...piss pot" sound, so thought a rename might be in order

KnitterInTheNW · 21/10/2008 18:09

hee hee!

SalLikesCoffee · 21/10/2008 18:10

How did the viewing go btw?
