sucks doesnt it

ThePFJ · 13/11/2008 14:43

my lo sits and rolls now. He's HEAVY.. not sure how much now though

Soph73 · 13/11/2008 14:45

I'm cancelling Christmas due to lack of enthusiasm & funds!! Would love a new mattress - sorry to hear about your hips though PFJ, deffo go for the mattress.

Soph73 · 13/11/2008 14:48

Natalie - I was given 4 due dates for Sam, the earliest being 21 April, the latest was 8 May which just wasn't physically possible. I worked it out that he was due on 22 April and I was right My Sam is only rolling but he has Down's Syndrome so is a couple of months behind all the other lo's. When he went to the docs on 22 Oct he was 68cms & weighed 7,030kgs, which I think is just over 14lbs.

TheShipsCat · 13/11/2008 14:52

BTW, Soph, I don't think your Sam sounds at all 'behind' A. She can barely roll, only just on purees, all she does really is poo and smile. Lots of people here are doing BLW, so their LOs are eating complicated stuff, but I wouldn't assume that Sam is behind them...

scorpio1 · 13/11/2008 15:17

Soph, Sam doesn't sound 'behind' to me either. Mimi is very wobbly whilst sitting but does go on all fours and go about 2 crawls iyswim then flop out

Mimi is weighing 17lb 3oz last week...she was 8lb 9oz born though. I still think she is a little skinny? i don't know really.

I go on smiles and eating to just know she is doing ok

Soph73 · 13/11/2008 15:33

I guess you're right TSC & Scorpio. I just assume him to be behind iyswim. When I see other babies a month or so younger than Sam they can hold their heads up perfectly, seem to sit nice & straight. Sam does hold his head up & then all of a sudden it flops back down again, then he holds it back up again with a surprised look on his face as if to say "what happened there then?" Sam's on puree & loves it so eating isn't an issue. Food's not a problem in our family He's also really chubby & looks as though he weighs more than he does. He's very long as well. Sam never stops smiling so I assume he's a happy bunny

Soph73 · 13/11/2008 15:35

And when you hear him laugh, well everyone just creases up

TheShipsCat · 13/11/2008 15:37

Aah, he sounds gorgeous!
A's head is still a little wobbly - she keeps lifting it up, then letting it crash down on the floor again - which obviously makes her cry...but she hasn't learnt not to do it yet!

Soph73 · 13/11/2008 15:39

new thread here

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 13/11/2008 15:41

I wouldn't worry too much or bother comparing Soph. Our Sam was ahead in everything at this age- walked at ten months- had no bearing on the fact that he is sn anyway. I panic now when Bas does something, and when he doesn't LOL- could go either way and I'd still panic!.

Seriously- just to show how stupid the guidelines are- if Harry had walked 1 week later he could be dx'd with glocal developmental delay, but because he didn't that's excluded- even though he was actually 2 weeks late.....

so you see, where they are is at the best a tiny clue to what happens ater on.

Does that make sense? Or am I waffling on?

Sorry

ThePFJ- have you considered a half Christmas and a bed frm the sales? Suspect with the lack of sales atm they will be good sales this year. Hoping to get our first ever dishwasher then, I know its a luxury but with the amount of meals I make could be a difference making one!

Soph73 · 13/11/2008 15:50

Peachy - barmy isn't it & yes, you made sense to me I think I'll be forever worrying about Sam though
