I don't know what the blardy rash is. It's just under both arms. I think it's my mum's washing powder because she is fine otherwise.

Feeling too peeved and self involved to catch up today.

Tillyscoutsmum · 29/10/2008 11:53

Sorry to hear about rashes, poo, throwing up, crappy airlines and trips with flashing blue lights . We just have the perpetual snotty nose ..

SOH - thank you so much for the explanation. Will let dsd know (I knew you'd be able to tell me )

We had snow yesterday - Til was very excited . We went to Halloween party at Toddlers and she made a very cute witch (and I was a pretty impressive devil, even if I do say so myself )

Hair & Make up trial tomorrow and trying on the dress for the first time on Tuesday. DP is on his stag night/weekend on Friday (cycling with the boys during the day, drinking copious amounts of beer at night). I'm having a girly night in with SATC dvd, wine and chinese takeaway.

thegreatscooscreamy · 29/10/2008 17:03

Im The Stig.Just dont tell anyone..

Well have landed up with a chest infection to go along with my squits now..I am royally pissed off.My boss has been back since Monday and hasnt so much as responded to an email from me yet. Also they cocked up and didnt pay me for my over time last month, which would have been about £300 which I needed to pay foranewcoat DH's birthday celebrations which will now have to go on the credit card that Im trying not to use.Is no big deal but is annoying.Came home early today and have got in bed but will have to go and get the girls in a minute and it is still snowy and icy here (had to dig car out this morning, whilst coughing in manner of TB victim and swearing at lack of de icer)

Have just spent an hour trying to order a buggy and buggy board for the girls, (L wont go in the buggy anymore and the P and T has a flat tyre so felt prompted to buy a new lightweight buggy).Found a very pretty o baby (rose print, DH will Love it ) one off kidicare website, but for some reason it wont accept any payment methods..

Love to poor old Sky..sounds dreadful..

at your hair and makeup Tilly..wish someone would come do mine at the mo, look like death..enjoy your eve..

Well done Cam on the run and AM on the proposal..

Top marks on your flounce to the beach gintonic..least you could look all broodingly at the sea..all I had to look at was the fruit and veg aisle and there wasnt even much on that, as they were awaiting a delivery as you like.

Someone go and get the girls for me >>pretty please voice

SKYTVMOSTHAUNTEDADDICT · 29/10/2008 19:06

Thanks for your best wishes.

We are home now, he just has gaviscon for a possible reflux!

Gave us all a bit of a fright but thank god he is ok.

twelveyeargap · 29/10/2008 20:02

Bet you can't wait TSM. SUCH an exciting time. I would love to do my wedding day all over again.

SKY - Trust that L is ok now. I know what you mean about feeling like a fraud, but nobody minds a baby taking up a space on ward - even if it's just being "safe than sorry". You must have had a fright yourself.

I have had an absolute shocker of a day. Worthy of the kind of post you've been writing of late, Scoot, you poor old thing. Got up early to get the kids ready as I had to go and have a meeting with HR today at 9am. DH went out just ahead of me and came back in to say he needed to scrape the ice off the car for me. (Nice of him.) Took blardy ages, despite having a can of de-icer, so set off late. Texted HR lady to tell her I was delayed only to discover I had put a wrong number in my phone. Left a VM on her desk phone which she luckily picked up. Left A with childminder and brought O to the meeting, which was about my job being made redundant. Not really a bad thing in itself, because I wasn't likely to go back anyway, but it's was just sad and I was crying by the end of the meeting. Said hello to some people on the trading floor and the girl I used to be good friends with, but whom I thought had dropped me, told me she'd been MIA because her dad had been murdered back in South Africa and she'd been there sorting things out. Went back to my car to find it wouldn't start. Called AA, hung around in the cold for an hour with O - no phone service in underground car park so couldn't wait in car. Childminder held onto A for me. Collected her and when I went to put them both back in the car the central locking went berserk and locked the keys in the car, with me and the kids outside. Struggled onto bus carrying O in car seat and with an exhausted A on the end of a wrist link. Got home and put A in bed, left O with S and went back with spare keys to get car. The bloke who has been here fixing the fence for the last three days is mad as a box of frogs and irritated the hell out of me. I had a row with Samsung on the phone about my broken fridge and now I have to go to the gym. DH is at the Arsenal match and poor S is minding a restless O. PLEASE let this day be over. I need a gin. A VAST one.

thegreatscooscreamy · 29/10/2008 20:54

hands TYG massive, expertly mixed gin and tonic

twelveyeargap · 29/10/2008 22:49

For the HR bods, in case you think I'm being "done", the company did tell me that I could wait until the end of my maternity leave to talk about this. However, it will be owned by another company by then, so there's no telling what will be on the table by then. I thought better the devil you know.

Scoot, I was standing there wanting to do a Basil Fawlty. You know the one where he beats the sh'te out of the mini with a branch. That's how I felt. Have been trying to talk DH into letting me buy a Volvo XC90 with the redundancy money. There'd be enough to buy a five year old one with a bit left over to go towards one of the many credit cards we have. He's not quite on board, but getting there. TBH, another episode like today and I might just have to insist. Bloody car. I love it, but it's farking unreliable. It's 13. If car years were like dog years, it would have a bus pass.

thegreatscooscreamy · 30/10/2008 08:08

Well its only fair..you need a reliable vehicle when you've two tinies to ferry about, plus S..Link to the car and we can all admire..

Dont have to be at work till 11.30 today for my first scheduled thing to do,(I mean I shoulod be there doing my other work but whatever) so am having a few hours off sick this morning.Still feel rubbish, and now L and M are sounding chesty.Of course DH has it worst of all

Gaah its ruddy freezing in our house.DH and I are involved in a battle of wills regarding having our heating on.(yesterday I caved and turned it on when I got home in the afternoon, but it had gone off by the time he got back from college last night so he doesnt know )I might go and put it on now..I have been driven to total paranoia by the media coverage of the credit crunch..as as family we arent that much worse off (obv shoppig and fuel costing more but its not crippling yet thank goodness, we are v lucky) but am now fretting about credit cards and paying for Christmas and all that, where I never used to before and there is no real reason to now..think will stop reading the papers and listening to the news..in the car I will learn Italian from CD's instead of having the radio..then not only will I consider myself to be better off financially, I will also have a new and useful skill!

twelveyeargap · 30/10/2008 08:45

The media have NO FARKING IDEA about the real reasons behind so called "credit crunch" and quite frankly, imo, have talked us into a recession. Recession is a lot to do with public opinion. Once people panic, stop spending and ferret their money away in savings, the economy is bound to shrink. If we're not spending, then there is no money for economic growth. Clearly carrying on as before on an living entirely on credit and the equity in your house is no longer feasible, but we are not back to 1979 just yet, particularly because oil prices have "tanked", if you'll excuse the pun. Everyone is going to start feeling a bit more wealthy when petrol and other fuel prices come right down again. Plus, there is talk that interest rates may come down to as low as 2%. Provided you bank is passing on these rates to you (you want to be on a mortgage that tracks BOE base rate, not LIBOR) then you could be feeling in clover if that happens.

This is the car I want to get. It's the only 7 seat car I like.

thegreatscooscreamy · 30/10/2008 09:10

Its true TYG..Its all about the confidence..as it goes our weekly shop is sometimes costing us less due to all the offers at the moment..plus with all the decorating we need to do in our house we are quids in as everywhere is discounting DIY stuff, carpets and the like..We are on a fixed rate with our mortgage for the next 4 years which is fine for us as we can plan exactly whats coming out..

Oh dear you will be a demonised 4 by 4 driver..you will have crazies sticking fake parking tickets on your windscreen when you do the school run and abusing you for not having a Smart car..(I wouldnt give a fig, I would love to have a big ol gas guzzler if we could afford it .I am The Stig after all Tis very nice..Have you seen one that will be suitable anywhere? Will you sell The Jag?That will surely pesuade DH as you could use it for part exchange?)

Our Mc-Prius is coming on Dec 7th, which Im quite excited about.Except DH wouldnt get the colour I wanted, pah!He went for black instead of the lovely metallic silver..
Not that I will get a look in with it anyway..

Have just seen Myllie Cyrus on GMTV (I love watching breakfast telly, am usually at work for an hour by now so is a real luxury)She is quite annoying..I really cant wait till the girls are in to all that kind of stuff

Pinkjenny · 30/10/2008 09:33

I can't wait for L to like High School Musical. Will it be soon? Miley Cyrus's teeth annoy me. I much prefer I'm so Raven or whatever it's called.

TYG - what a poop day. HR bods are bastards. We're in a collective consultation period with our Scotland office at the moment. It's the world we live in, unfortunately.

Mark's mum had L yesterday, having never look after her on her own before. All I can say is that I came home to a completely different child. It's like someone had taken my beautiful girl and replaced her with a demonic monster.

thegreatscooscreamy · 30/10/2008 09:41

Oh yes, HSM is a different matter..Im trying to brainwash them into that NOW.I could eat Zack Effron on toast..(is that his name?)

When MIL has L and M they too come home as if posessed. Its because she panders to their every whim and if they so much as fall over she practically calls an ambulance and makes enough fuss to actually convince them they have broken a limb as opposed to what has actually happened, which is that they have fallen over and are fine.

What is happening with your job PJ?Does your contract finish soon?

Pinkjenny · 30/10/2008 09:50

Yes, I suspect Zak Efron (I think that's right!) is naughty in real life. That Vanessa Hudgens certainly is! I forget that by the time L gets into these things she will think I am morbidly embarrassing. She already refuses to make eye contact with me if I start dancing.

By God it was awful last night. Particularly because of the rash, I'm thinking, 'is she ill'. Which of course she isn't. Just being a little challenging. She's on a veeery short fuse at the moment. Just like mummy.

I finish in Jan Scoot. Hopefully I will find something earlier as my new boss and I do not see eye to eye. On anything. I'm so glad I'm not here permanently.

HauntedMeadow · 30/10/2008 10:03

Is HSM really that good? Should i be going out and buying the boxset of 1&2?

Oh dear Pink, i know exactly what you mean. Whenever MIL or certain friends look after J&E they come back on a mega sugar rush and are totally demonic! Was great to speak to you yesterday, you sound totally in control of everything which is brilliant! Well done you. How is the rash? Has it gone down any? I think you are right in thinking that its your mums washing powder that caused it. Like i said, when my mum changed her powder to Bold when we were kids my brother came out in rashes.

TYG they are really nice cars although not as nice as my 7seater bmw x5 , not that i am biased. Lots of room and quickly/easily turn from a 5 to a 7 seater. A friend of mine has one and she loves it.

LG&T i hope you get on ok at the quacks with B. Will find another date when we can come and visit, perhaps when you are climbing the walls with boredom whilst house bound.

Hey Scoot

HauntedMeadow · 30/10/2008 10:06

ThemasterandmarGOREitas · 30/10/2008 10:06

We will discover HSM on Saturday. It is dd's 7th birthday. Gawd help us. I am taking her and 7 friends to the cinema to see Mamma Mia

TYG, frankly I am amazed you still have a sense of humour after that day! come join our 4x4 club...perfect for all the potholes in North London

Pink, J now has a rash. I blame it all on you.

I have just made chocolate witch hats for ds1's school tomorrow and as well I have made 2 loaf cakes to make dd's party cake, but I have just realised I have made them with plain instead of self raising aaarrrrrrrggggghhhhhh. I am running out of time...we have visitors to stay tomorrow for the day and night, four boys under 6

HauntedMeadow · 30/10/2008 10:07

ok weird, posted twice and noticed that i cant spell!

thegreatscooscreamy · 30/10/2008 10:16

I would love to come to Take That..not arf..
Going to work now..I cannot be bothered at all..
Have had a disastorous hair cut last week and its not even fixable. It is quite short and there is nothing for it but to let it grow out..meantime look like an utter geek..think is what is making me feel ill..

How do you make chocolate witch hats?

Pinkjenny · 30/10/2008 10:18

I would love to come!!!!!!!!!! The Reunion Tour was amazing. But I am experiencing 'paying for concerts' overload at the moment, as have booked Barry Manilow, NKOTB and Lionel Ritchie. Am skint.

TMAM - I want chocolate cake now. I blame you.

AM - I got the photies, they are lovely, thank you. The rash is definitely settling down. And no trips to A&E. Well done me!

ShowOfHands · 30/10/2008 10:33

Oh goodness me. TYG what a horrid day. Your car, I'm sorry to inform you is not cruising on its bus pass, it's in its death throes. I think it's best to put it to sleep or pass it on to somebody who has the money to resurrect it or at least replace very large parts of it.

Scoot, I won't say it again. A morning off does not quite cut it. You need a holiday. You too Tonic and Jam (is the poo all gone yet?). I vote we all bugger off to Center Parcs en masse. You must of course excuse my lack of 4x4. We drive a beaten up old VW Polo with one wing mirror, half an exhuast, rusted edges and weird clunking sounds. And the irony is we live on a farm, up a 2 mile dirt track in the middle of nowhere. We could legitimately own a gas guzzler. We wouldn't though as we're hippies and the patchwork rust suits us.

I'm on a mission today. Still arguing the toss with the fecking bank (still have our money, received no child benefit or tax credits since July) and the numpties at the electricity company have put our monthly direct debit up from £55 to £140. Eh? I will be shouting loudly at them.

Scoot, the way to ride out this "recession" is to live within your means as far as possible, get the best possible deals for fuel and mortgages and you'll be reet. Realistically, this is a good thing in some ways (not being dismissive of how difficult it's going to be for those living on credit/stuck with massive mortgages etc). It's part of the natural rise and fall and ebb and flow of structured society and economy. It takes a crash of markets to make the economic expectations of the country reach a realistic level. Give it 50 years and you'll see it again. It's a general trend.

Crikey, look at the bloody time. Why am I here? Must park dd in front of the green ogre and do some phoning of faceless multinational companies.

LG&T we all have colds again. I shan't trouble you with them because it sounds like hell down there anyway. Plus there's a strong possibility that dh will be stuck on a night shift at short notice on Saturday. They're short staffed and its showing. He's had all of his Saturdays off cancelled for the foreseeable future.

TMAM is the hired help back?

CM, are you alright lovie? How's decluttering going?

PJ, how's the sleep/marital things/accent/shell suit/life of petty crime (national offend the scousers day)?

AM, did I read you're off to Florida? Again? Can I come? I'm small now. I'll fit in a medium sized suitcase and I speak American. I'll translate for you.

ShowOfHands · 30/10/2008 10:36

Hello... is it me you're looking for...

Look PJ, I'm on your wavelength.

Show Of Hands are doing a tour atm. Don't see you lot rushing out to see them.

TSM, can I come to your hen night? Never been to a girlie night. Somebody once promised me one, some Northern bird I seem to remember but it never happened.

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 30/10/2008 10:38

Where are we on the mass CP meet up? We should definitely do that.

She is staying in her cot all evening (apart from last night!) and getting in with us at some point in the middle of the night, which I can live with!

Marital things - hmmm, they're OK. I suspect there is a little burying things under the carpet going on though.

My accent is great. How's yours? L is a right little scouser. She looks at her book and says, 'there's the teeeeeertle' rather than 'turtle', and constantly says, 'heeyaaaa', rather than 'here you are'. Daddy is horrified.

My shell suit has not seen the light of day since 1990. But I am rather partial to a Juicy Couture tracksuit. I have seven of them. And I love them. And my Ugg boots too.

I never really got into petty crime, having been given the gift of a very guilty conscience from my parents quite early on in life.

Glad you're still with us. I read on another thread something that suggested you were going to leave us. Which would clearly be unacceptable.

HauntedMeadow · 30/10/2008 10:40

I just bought my mum tickets to see Lionel in April. It's her birthday present but her birthday isnt until the end of March!!

Ok so far people wanting to see the boys are:

ShowOfHands · 30/10/2008 10:44
