What news today, Scoot? Any improvement? I meant to say to you about the Calpol dosage and weight. O was on more Calpol at 7 weeks in hospital than the dose for 3 months. I think it's usually 10mg per kg body weight, but you could call and ask so that you know she's getting as much as she can have.
Both of mine have farking conjunctivitis. Meh. I thought A just had that runny eyeness that sometimes happens with a cold but child minder tells me it's an infection. Tried to buy Brolene and mistakenly told them it was for her and they said I had to get a GP to prescribe it. Walked up to town (bearing in mind I'd already walked 4 miles with the tank double buggy already today) and got the eye ointment for "my husband". Then asked for the 1 year+ chesty cough medicine for A and was told I couldn't have it because they now have to be 2. Bloody nanny state. Then remembered that breast milk is supposed to clear up conjunctivitis and got a dropper to give that a shot. Expressing directly into A's gunky eyes whilst she kicked me in protest didn't appeal funnily enough. Got almost home and remembered the other chemist in town, where I could have lied and said the cough medicine was for an older child. Noticed a tiny bit of gunk in O's eye and he's been very out of sorts today so probably sore eyes too, so have given him a breast milk eye bath as well.
I too cried when I heard Obama's speech. DH would go mad if he knew I said this, but he was weeping with happiness listening to it as well. It's just all so hopeful.
TMAM, hope DD and her friends aren't too upset by the incident. How horrible.
JAM - so sorry. Hypno stuff on its way today by 1st class post. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow, or Friday latest. Thankfully I printed the postage online so I could just drop off the parcel at the post office. They closed the PO on my road and the queue up in town was out the door. They said there was sufficient capacity there when they closed my local one. Hah. Hope the stuff works for you. Skim through the book, but at this stage, I think the most important thing is to focus on the "learning to relax" and listening to the CD as much as possible. It doesn't matter if you fall asleep listening to it. It still "goes in". Any questions, both me and MKG have done it.
Have a pain in my arse with DH working late a couple of times a week. He never seems to know more than a day in advance when he needs to do the late shift and many times they change at the last minute. I wanted him home this eve to be here whilst I went to my training session, but have just been told he's on lates. I had to leave early last week because O wouldn't settle in bed and then wouldn't stop crying when S was trying to mind him.
I did manage to go for a jog last night though and was very pleased that in four personal training sessions, I've gone from being able to jog only half a mile without stopping for a walk break, to 2 miles. Hurrah. It's nice to have a tangible effect.
