Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
largeginandtonic · 05/11/2008 16:32

Travelling is ok with me, mine are used to marathon drives in the car anyhoo.

I will be coming with small people as the bub will be attatched to norks.

Scoot so glad that L is on the mend hope you feel better soon too. Glad dh is helping you.

TheGreatScootini · 05/11/2008 16:44

He is having to take time off work but actually it is doing him good to be at home and see the girls..he has either been at work or revising for months and would prob have collapsed sooner or later..

Well let say we bring the girls then PJ..Then we have a weekend away sans kids at an earlier or later date..would feel a bit mean going to CP without them as they would love it..

Can we book up!!? can we book up!!?

JamInMyWellies · 05/11/2008 16:52

Ok so we are CP virgins in the jam household and have no idea what all this comfort villas etc is and where are we going and what specific dates I am preggers you know and incapable of following anything other than basic instructions. Will need to raid Archies bank account to pay for it.

Oh and LG&T dont worry about being big and having the bubba bet I am still mahoosive then too. There will be no way I will be donning swimwear unless it is a wetsuit.

Scoot you sound much more chipper today are you all on the mend a bit?

Aprilmeadow · 05/11/2008 17:28

here's a link to the CP website - you can see the diff types off accom

TheGreatScootini · 05/11/2008 17:28

Yes..I just feel so relieved L is perking up!I was beginning to think she would never get better..is so lovely to see her smiling again. Her and M have just come in with knickers on their heads doing a little dance they do (for some reason they like to put knickers on their heads regularly )and they are laughing their heads off..

The last time I went to CP I was 8 so I have not a clue re comfort luxury lodges and all that either, but in AM I trust..

BTW MKG, I thought your man McCain was very dignified in defeat..lol at the tyre..

Aprilmeadow · 05/11/2008 17:39

just so i can get the right figures from CP...

LG&T you will need the biggest they do which is an 8 person (little miss will have sneak in)

Jam you will need a 2 bed villa

Scoot you need a 2 bed villa (dont think it costs anymore for L)

Pink you are bunking in with me with or without L & M

SOH just needs 1 room

Also which weekend are we going for? I think overall the 27th is cheaper....

Aprilmeadow · 05/11/2008 17:41

Basically, do you want basic, or do you want something nicer? That and cost is what it boils down to.

I am happy to block book and then either you can phone up and pay yourselves or you can send me the money... if you want to do that then i am happy to wait til after Xmas for the pennies

twelveyeargap · 05/11/2008 18:12

What news today, Scoot? Any improvement? I meant to say to you about the Calpol dosage and weight. O was on more Calpol at 7 weeks in hospital than the dose for 3 months. I think it's usually 10mg per kg body weight, but you could call and ask so that you know she's getting as much as she can have.

Both of mine have farking conjunctivitis. Meh. I thought A just had that runny eyeness that sometimes happens with a cold but child minder tells me it's an infection. Tried to buy Brolene and mistakenly told them it was for her and they said I had to get a GP to prescribe it. Walked up to town (bearing in mind I'd already walked 4 miles with the tank double buggy already today) and got the eye ointment for "my husband". Then asked for the 1 year+ chesty cough medicine for A and was told I couldn't have it because they now have to be 2. Bloody nanny state. Then remembered that breast milk is supposed to clear up conjunctivitis and got a dropper to give that a shot. Expressing directly into A's gunky eyes whilst she kicked me in protest didn't appeal funnily enough. Got almost home and remembered the other chemist in town, where I could have lied and said the cough medicine was for an older child. Noticed a tiny bit of gunk in O's eye and he's been very out of sorts today so probably sore eyes too, so have given him a breast milk eye bath as well.

I too cried when I heard Obama's speech. DH would go mad if he knew I said this, but he was weeping with happiness listening to it as well. It's just all so hopeful.

TMAM, hope DD and her friends aren't too upset by the incident. How horrible.

JAM - so sorry. Hypno stuff on its way today by 1st class post. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow, or Friday latest. Thankfully I printed the postage online so I could just drop off the parcel at the post office. They closed the PO on my road and the queue up in town was out the door. They said there was sufficient capacity there when they closed my local one. Hah. Hope the stuff works for you. Skim through the book, but at this stage, I think the most important thing is to focus on the "learning to relax" and listening to the CD as much as possible. It doesn't matter if you fall asleep listening to it. It still "goes in". Any questions, both me and MKG have done it.

Have a pain in my arse with DH working late a couple of times a week. He never seems to know more than a day in advance when he needs to do the late shift and many times they change at the last minute. I wanted him home this eve to be here whilst I went to my training session, but have just been told he's on lates. I had to leave early last week because O wouldn't settle in bed and then wouldn't stop crying when S was trying to mind him.

I did manage to go for a jog last night though and was very pleased that in four personal training sessions, I've gone from being able to jog only half a mile without stopping for a walk break, to 2 miles. Hurrah. It's nice to have a tangible effect.

ShowOfHands · 05/11/2008 18:17

Any date's fine by me. Let LG&T decide because I love her she may have a preference to only bring dd2 and the boy. My dh will be extremely cross at no ds3 though LG&T, you do know that don't you?

Dunno if I fancy their hotelly thing. I may want a villa, that's what we usually stay in.

Jam, I usually camp, so anything with 4 walls and a roof is luxury for me. CP comfort villas are basic but depends what you want out of accommodation. It has a bathroom and cutlery and plates and a carpet and a hairdryer and beds and a cot and a highchair and ceilings and a tv and a terrace and windows and electricity and running water and strange green chairs and a dining table and no biscuit barrel. It's perfect for us. If you want to spend big money you can have jacuzzis and naked bell boys. Oh but I'm excited. The nearest I get to swimming costumes is this. I like my modesty. If I could wear a wetsuit I would though.

The shop at Elveden does the most amazing gingerbread men. But if they have them at Sherwood then I'll go there happily. AM, phone and ask them. They have fat bellies and raisin eyes. I need to know you see.

Damn 'puter restarted. Also meant to say...

Scoot, fab that L's on the up and up.

And MKG , I love the way you say 'errands'. It's like you're a 1950s British housewife. I don't hear anybody say it over here.

twelveyeargap · 05/11/2008 20:08

Woops, posted my post without refreshing the page first so was writing based on this morning's events. Durr. Glad L is better. Will catch up later.

TheGreatScootini · 05/11/2008 20:49

I dont care which weekend..Am I having a villa to myself?Cant I share with someone >>throws a at PJ in a suggestive fashion

TheGreatScootini · 05/11/2008 20:53

Have been on website and think I only need 1 bedroom as M counts as an infant still (as she wont be two)Unless I have cocked it up (highly likely)

MKG · 05/11/2008 22:05

Really no one says errands anymore? I say it all the time.

Of course I am very retro.

JamInMyWellies · 05/11/2008 22:41

AM, TYG, I never get text or voicemails unless I am out of the village it is like mobile reception black hole here.

TYG, thanks was just a little worried it had got lost in our country snail pace post.

AM, sorry I missed your call.

Let me know what the decision is on place and dates so I can see whether we can afford the pennies. MIght have to wait until the NY to book. But if it looks like A would still be classed as an infant and I can smuggle mini munch in under my muffin top should be grand.

charleymouse · 06/11/2008 02:49

ooh yes please count me in AM. Maybe we can work out some configuration as we need 2 bed as DD will be 4 but prob only use 1 IYSWIM or could count spare place in her room towards someone elses DC. Does that make sense if not it is due to sleep deprivation.
blardy boots online shoppng thingy keeping me up this late.
Harrumph. will catchup later, have been sneaking a read in between shopping. Scoot hope the girls are better, good luck with the milk bath TYG, scary TMAM, look into my eyes Jam , hows the smell of paint LGT, sex PJ shall we TTC together, okay that would take a miracle BYKWIM. MKG, blardy typical blokeishness, hi SOH I'm sure Sherwood do gingerbread. Glad your hols were good AL.

hello everyone else can not check as now on reserve battery, both me and puter catch you later.

PS no funny ideas if sharing with me

charleymouse · 06/11/2008 02:51

ooh forgot to say TYG toerag ok as DH was going in back when twins were expected, but 7 seater handy for friends etc.

Aprilmeadow · 06/11/2008 09:11

Ella awake ALL night! Woke up just as i was going to bed at 11pm and didnt go back to sleep until 1am, then awake at 2, 3, 5 and 6.50. Wriggling all over the place. No temperature just down to teething i think. Bonjela and calpol did nothing.

Ok, so lets work out sleeping arrangements:
Rooms required:

SOH: 1
Jam: 2
Pink: 1
Scoot: 1/2 (are you bringing Dh?)
Charley: 2
Me: 1/2
LG&T: 1/2 or 4

If people are happy to share then that brings the cost down dramatically.

Scoot & LG&T could you please let me know how many of you will be coming..

My first thoughts are:

Villa 1: 3bd
LG&T (if she only brings ds5 & dd2) & SOH

Villa 2: 4bd
Me & Charley

Villa 3: 4bd
Scoot
JAM
Pink

Just a thought as trying to do it the most cost effective way

Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 09:27

Yes yes yes to everything. Just tried to ring you AM to confirm I'm in. x

I'll share with whoever .

Scoot - I'm definitely going to bring L then, I agree it would be so mean to leave her behind, and then we can maybe arrange a sleepover for the new season of Gossip Girl later on??? I have many pictures of me and my friend with our (clean) knickers on our heads. We used to pretend we were Pepsi and Shirlie, doing our Wham backing dancer bit. I'm not sure what significance the knickers had, but I turned out OK. I think.

AM - I can't believe Ella was up all night! I must confess to watching Mr. Tumble and Fifi in the middle of the night a few times lately as L has been inconsolable once or twice. I think it's the blardy teeth.

I'm so excited about this meet up!!!!

Book it.

TheGreatScootini · 06/11/2008 09:41

No not bringing DH (Will very prb be divorced by then if he contines to snap at everyone )Will be just me and my littlies..

twelveyeargap · 06/11/2008 09:42

MKG - If I had to pick a Republican president - I would have picked McCain. He's about the most centre right of anyone I'm aware of (though I'm not particularly knowledgeable on US politics). I like that he's willing to stand up to his own party. The only thing that really concerned me was his foreign policies.

The thing that really impressed me about Obama was that he was willing to say that he didn't have the experience, but that he knew exactly who he needed in his cabinet to bring experience to his ideals. I read that some time ago in a Sunday newspaper here, so I've been rooting for him before he was even the candidate.

I don't think the race issue comes into it so much here. Some of the papers headlined "the first black president" and some programmes are interviewing MLK's relatives about it, but I think the main thing is that people are relieve Bush and his policies are going.

Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 09:44

I'd bring dh but he'll only piss me off.

I'm avoiding the Obama discussion as listening to me 80 year old grandad and 22 year old law student cousing argue talk about it last night nearly tipped me over the edge.

Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 09:44

That will be my and cousin.

Aprilmeadow · 06/11/2008 09:44

Woo hoo

Just been onto the CP site and got some figures (havent worked out what the discount would be yet)

Villa 1 (lg&t & soh) £439 so £220 each
Villa 2 (me & charley) £739 so £370 each
Villa 3 (scoot, pink,jam) £739 so £246 each

I have just split the cost by the number of families not how many rooms each family has but could do that if you wanted

Pinkjenny · 06/11/2008 09:45

Fine by me. Not worried about the rooms or anything.

Go, AM, go!!
