Ah, I see. Lots of piccies on profile now and plenty more on FB. The mood took me today, to download everything from the memory card.

'Tild looks gorgeous, SOH. Must go and have a nosey at everyone else's photos now. I never think of it on FB.

JamInMyWellies · 31/10/2008 20:32

Hi everyone,

I wrote a massive long post this morning then Archie came along and bashed the keyboard and it has taken me all day to make it work again.

Wanted to respond to everyones very kind thoughts. I am going to go and speak to the midwifes at the birthing center saw a midwife today at my GP's for my 34 wk check and she said I would be a great candidate for the midwife led unit. I would love to get a doula again I did speak to the lady who did it last time for us when I got pregnant but unfortunatley she has started to charge for her services and we are definitely not in a position to shell out 500 smackers so its DP on his own with me - poor sod. LG&T I would take you up on your offer but I fear you are a tad busy at the mo. TYG I also looked into hypno birthing but again the only courses around cost a fortune so am concentrating on yoga and repeating the mantra of I will have a good birthing experience. Thankyou all so much for listening to me I was all over the place last night. Think I was a little overwhelmed by everything, and a little hormonal. I was never this bonkers when pregnant with Archie. Must be a girl.

Now have also had a chance to read back yesterdays posts.

SOH what is this nonsense about you leaving us I absoloutley forbid it who else will give such good advice to us. Also bloody nora with us 2 being the shy ones how on earth would we ever be able to have a lesbian adventure unless it was all done via FB and MN.

Abbey glad you had a fab holiday now did I miss your b-day, if so very happy belated returns.

Haunted those pics of the littlies is so cute. Have fun with the jaffa biffas. By the way we did eventually get tickets when they released the extra dates. We got them for 1st July. woo hoo

Scoot my lovley am so sorry you are having a crappy time of it at the mo. Think maybe itsd time to sit down with DH and thrash out the whole working versus stay at home thing. I would love it if you were a stay at home mummy we could meet up and eat cake all the time.

I know I have missed masses sorry hope you all have a fun halloween. Bit gutted thought some of the village children would venture out for some trick or treating but none to be seen sadly, and we scooped a massive pumpkin and a huge bag of sweeties, guess I will have to eat them.

twelveyeargap · 31/10/2008 21:02

Jam, would you like my hypnobirthing book, scripts and CD of affirmations? You're very welcome to try it. Just email me your address and I will post. All I'd ask is that you keep them for me and send back when you're done so that I'll have them to lend to other people. Let me know. You can go to bed listening to the CD and read up on the breathing methods (will be similar to yoga.)

thegreatscooscreamy · 31/10/2008 21:05

Ah you sound better Jammy..TYG had some hypno birth Cd's I think..well someone did..Would something like that help at all?

We have had a ton of trick or treaters..DH has had to answer the door and had looked increasingly edgy as the night has gone on..

L is still boiling boiling hot.Am watching her like a hawk as she's a history of Febrile fits..I wonder what it could be?M has cooled down but poor L is sweating pints and her skin is burning.I might take her to the emergency Dr tomorrow if she carries on..(and as a Mean Mummy I dont say that lightly [smile)I still feel rough.DH is worst off naturally and is now in bed nursing a hot toddy.

I didnt go into work.I called and it sounded all party party party, so it must've gone OK.Sure customers will have the hump but I cant be all things to all people I guess..

Have finally managed to order my new buggy off Kidicare..DH vetoed the lovely vintage Rose print one I favoured so we have got a sort of buff coloured O baby one which looked quite nice. The colour reminded me of L's first pram which was a Bebe-car one that was approx the size and weight of a landrover.I loved that pram.I did not love having to lift it and trying to fit it into the back of my Ford Ka.I had to have the back seat collapsed to get it in

JamInMyWellies · 31/10/2008 21:06

yes please TYG will FB you my address and of course I will keep them safe for you and post them back.

thegreatscooscreamy · 31/10/2008 21:13

See Cross post.Great minds...

JamInMyWellies · 31/10/2008 21:19

Poor L keep up the nurofen and calpol.

twelveyeargap · 31/10/2008 21:20

Scoot, no, you cannot be all things to all people and it's far more important to be at home when you're sick, and especially so when the kids are too.

Have you sponged L down with lukewarm water? Sorry if that's really obvious. Apparently it's what saved me when I had a vicious kidney infection circa 1981... What is her actual temp reading? If it's 39.4 or above (103 or above in old money), then perhaps phone the out of hours doctor and ask for advice? I am also and evil Mummy, so I know you must be worried if you're thinking emergency doctor. Perhaps some sort of infection? Isn't that what usually causes a temp to spike? I would definitely go in the morning if she's not better. It's been long enough now. No point in prolonging it if it's an infection which needs antibiotics. (I hate anti-biotics, but they're a very necessary evil sometimes.) Say they both had an ear infection; it's possible that M's just worked it's way out, but L's did not.

Am really sniggering at your DH's nervousness. Hehehehe. Hot toddy indeed. Feckin' man flu.

HauntedMeadow · 31/10/2008 21:22

Just a quick one to say that MrsJB and family arrived safely. The dh's are one their way back from Top Gear and we have all 5 kids asleep!

Have had a lovely afternoon/evening. Had a little halloween tea party with them all in fancy dress followed by a nice walk around the estate knocking on complete srangers doors trick or treating.

Just about to tuck into a nice chinese and glass of vino

AbbyLou · 31/10/2008 22:06

Sounds like you've had a lovely time AM/MrsJB. Tonight here has consisted of the R being woken 4 times by the doorbell - I'm afraid I was rather short with the last lot!
I've been ironing for what seems like hours. I've done 7 loads of washing since we came back from holiday!
Scoot sorry L is not feeling any better. You definitely did the right thing not going into work. Hope she's feeling better. it's so hard when you feel torn between so many places isn't it? My Head at school does not have any children and is famous for her lack of understanding and sympathy when they are ill. Recently we have employed a lot more, younger staff who have young children so she has finally had to start to believe that for some people, work isn't the be all and end all. She actually found it really hard to believe that other things could matter more.
I can't believe how fast this half term has gone. I think because we've been away it has gone quicker. Tomorrow we're off to dh's cousin's daughter's (got that) 2nd birthday party which is down in Harpenden so more travelling. Then on Sunday C has swimming and we have Dh'd dad, step-mum, aunty, uncle and cousin all for Sunday lunch. I need to get this Chinese laundry sorted out by then!

JamInMyWellies · 31/10/2008 22:25

OOh Abby I used to live in Harpenden, moved there when I was 14. Lovley town.

HauntedMeadow · 01/11/2008 07:45

TYG what gorgeous pictures. MrsJB and I couldnt believe how fair A has gone. O is totally scrummy - we were epecting the same amount of hair as A had. Lovely outfits for Halloween, O doesnt look convinced

JAM, What extra date? Lucky you for getting tickets. Bit gutted but i guess at least i got to see them in Nov.

Kids have all been playing really nicely and I cant believe how much M&J have grown. Will upload a picture of them all later.

AbbyLou · 01/11/2008 09:02

Morning all.
Scoot I hope L is feeling a bit better this morning and you didn't have too bad a night. I think R is going to be poorly today. She was really grouchy and clingy yesterday and didn't eat anything all day. She went to bed at 6.30 last night and is still sound asleep now. I keep checking on her and she feels a bit warm but looks so peaceful I'm leaving her. Hopefully that way she'll sleep out whatever it is.

MKGisHavingaGirl · 01/11/2008 12:31

Good morning everyone!

We had fun last night trick or treating. The center where my job is does a trick or treat so we went, and then we came home had dinner and we went to our neighbors houses. It was just me and Mateo. He loved it, and I met lots of people as last night was the only time we see people out of their houses. Everyone thought he was so cute in his bat costume, which he was. Cruz stayed home with dh.

I's so tired now, but luckily for the last three nights I've been asleep before 8:30. I dread working tonight until 9:30.

thegreatscooscreamy · 01/11/2008 15:01

Hi all,
L no better, M ok.L awake all night and keeps sayng she feels poorly and bursting into tears. Her temp is between 38 and 39.5and nothing is bringing it down.Am waiting for DH to get back from college then am taking her to the Dr.Meanwhile am watching her like a hawk as convinced she is about to have a febrile fit as per every toher time she gets hot like this.

Hope R ok Abby..

Bg wave to Mrs JB Ansd the jaffalings..How are you settling into Meadow Towers...its a life of luxury for yu for the weekend to be sure

I am getting a bit cabin fevery now as havent left the house since Thursday eve..kids not really well enough to go out.Am getting a bit sick of kids telly as well..L is lying on the soaf so am letting her have it on (since she is poorly)Mr Tumble drives me up the wall!

thegreatscooscreamy · 01/11/2008 15:03

..Although I have just realised that the Makaton sign I have always used for umberella is totally wrong..the thing ive been doing probably means something obscene

MKGisHavingaGirl · 01/11/2008 15:18

Scoot--I hope she gets better soon.

ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 15:20

What's that Mr Tumble?

It's my umbrella hat.

Really Mr Tumble, you look like a nob.

Sorry L's still under the weather. Let me know what the doc says.

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 18:33

Scoot? Is she okay?

OP posts:
AbbyLou · 01/11/2008 18:38

Scoot, hope L is better and you got on ok at the drs.
I couldn't say R is poorly so I think it might be teeth. She certainly isn't right as she has slept a lot of the day. She hadn't eaten anything all day and we've been to her cousins party so lots of yummy food. However she has just eaten a pice of toast and 1 and a half tins of pasta shapes so perhaps she's feeling better!

ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 18:40

AM, those photos on fb are wonderful. Lovely one of MrsJB with fab hair and eyes.

They all look like they're having a great time.

I'm fed up with dh working nights. On my own again. Let's have virtual fireworks.

whizz bang pop

wheeeeeeeee!

OP posts:
ShowOfHands · 01/11/2008 18:41

Oh and abby, I would tell you that M has been exactly the same with her teeth of late, sleeping lots and not eating but I'm ignoring you.

AbbyLou · 01/11/2008 19:34

I'm sorry SOH. I really didn't think you lived anywhere near GY or I would have made an effort to let you know. I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted to meet us anyway. We were in serious holidaymaker mode and doing lots of crazy sightseeing in all weathers. We go to Norfolk a lot so next time I promise I'll let you know, ok?

ScroogeAllYearRound · 01/11/2008 19:41

S'alright I suppose.

I live about 20 minutes from GY. We're slap bang in the middle of the broads.

Not mad keen on GY anyway. That East coast bit is super touristy. Go to the North Norfolk coast next time and I'll come and eat chips and candy floss with you.

ScroogeAllYearRound · 02/11/2008 09:13

Oh and I recommend Bewilderwood to everybody. Haven't taken M as she's too young to appreciate it, but it's a wonderful concept.

Right, I'm pregnant. And I've won the lottery. And I'm planning a sex change (slightly worried that the most likely of the three is the sex change thing).

Come back all of you.
