DH is very, very good. Cooks, cleans, launders, sweeps, bakes, DIYs etc. I just can't let go.

Productive morning here. We've done an awful lot of housework, made three lasagnes, baked cookies, been to the park to kick leaves and eaten jacket potatoes, cheese, broccoli and sweetcorn.

Going to watch Jonathan Creek now and knit while Tildy creates masterpieces scribbles with felt tips.

Bought her Christmas present too. It's a little wooden brio-esque trainset from Ikea for very little money. She's obsessed with choo choos.

I am contemplating buying a big fridge so that I can turn into a domestic goddess that bakes and freezes meals in advance. We only have a little fridge, and I am CONVINCED that is why we spend so much money on food, as we can never do a HUGE shop because of the lack of space in the fridge.

Hello thought I'd lost you for a moment.

So annoyed I wrote a nice long post on Wednesday night and as I dropped to sleep (after posting I hasten to add) DH put my laptop on the floor and then switched it off in the night as light was annoying him. My post was not posted. Harrrumph.

Anyway I can not remember what I posted but it was higly intelligent and witty and responded to everyones recent posts and made no mention of pirate porn.

I know exactly what you mean SOH, G has taken to trying to tune in the world service (very advanced dontcha know) via whichever nipple is not in his mouth. It is driving me potty. My DH also claims he gets no affection from me anymore but it is so hard when you have been mauled by little ones. You do need your own space.

Right will catch you later. I am currently in state of zombie as DCs are tag team for keeping me up all night, feed/coughing fit/vomit fest/fall out of bed nose bleed/feed/coughing ad infinitum.

Pinkjenny · 17/10/2008 15:44

CM - the post you wrote for Tiasmummy was wonderful, so touching. Made me cry. On a lighter note, the coughing and snotfest chez PJ is starting to piss me off a bit. It feels like it's gone on forever.

I wish you'd all stop talking about your nipples. It's going right through me!

JamInMyWellies · 17/10/2008 17:05

Tilly you have made it into morningpapers roundup.

JamInMyWellies · 17/10/2008 17:07

Oh AM are you around would you have time to sort out a secret stork for us due in DEC girls?

twelveyeargap · 17/10/2008 18:31

Jam - Zip up duvets

JamInMyWellies · 17/10/2008 19:47

TYG have seen those but its not so much he kicks them off he slides up and out and then lays on the top.

ThemasterandmarGOREitas · 17/10/2008 21:20

Jam tbh we just stuck with grobags even in the big bed, until they were about 2.5.

We have been to see the Pipes and Drums of the Blackwatch Guard at The Club (very colonial dontcha think?). J thought it most amusing, dancing as the man was doing his Highland Fling. At one point I was a bit worried that he was going to try and run over and pull off those lovely white little sockettes they wear.

We are off 'up country' tomorrow for a couple of days, on safari to a baking hot national park. We are sort of camping. I'm not scared of the lions, oh no, not me.

Enjoy your weekend of tweed.

Tillyscoutsmum · 17/10/2008 21:44

That's twice I've been in the round up - both times about very embarrassing moments involving supermarket shopping

SKYTVADDICT · 17/10/2008 22:36

Hi all, had a chuckle at the "incident" Tillyscout

Managed to get hair done on Monday and a friend coloured it today - very pleased with it, I wasn't sure I would be as never had a home colour before but it was an awful lot cheaper.

TYG - I also cut out most of cakes and biscuits for a week last week and lost a bit but put it back on this week.

Boys being christened on Sunday, am so pleased we decided not to cater for ourselves - going to a club across the market place. We all have outfits and I think we have done everything we need but we haven't picked cakes up yet and don't know how much they will cost [gulp!).

I have been very lazy about expressing this time and L has only ever had one bottle - the top I am wearing on Sunday isn't really b/f friendly and I have been meaning to express a couple of bottles and haven't got round to it yet.

In fact, think I will give it a go now.

Hope you all have a nice weekend

twelveyeargap · 17/10/2008 23:01

I am in agony. Burpees. I don't think I need to say anything else.

AbbyLou · 18/10/2008 08:41

Morning all. It's Saturday so as you all disappear and don't post for a couple of days, here I am!

AprilMeadow · 18/10/2008 09:33

Morning,

Jam have posted on the Dec thread - would love to sort it out for you

ShowOfHands · 18/10/2008 10:29

Burpees are fabulous, sort the wheat from the chaff. You just have to man up.

My dh is a qualified personal trainer, free nagging chez SOH.

Do you have to shout 'sir yes sir' after each instruction? Burpees are military fare after all.

Off for a run as the sun is shining and I ate too much Chinese takeaway last night.

I tried to man up today and tried to jog out the aches. Took S with me. I felt and because she's was even more pathetically unfit than me. Shocking.

Didn't have to shout "yes sir", thankfully, because I wouldn't have been able to keep a straight face. The trainer is about 12. Well that's how old he looks to me anyway. And apart from that, if I'd have to speak during these burpee things, I'd have managed even fewer than seven before pathetically pleading not to have to do the last three. (Obv he made me do them anyway.)

waves to "weekend" Abby

Was at DH's sister's boys' birthday party this afternoon. BIL's father was there. (Confused yet?) Anyway, A took a shine to him and has "adopted" him and called him granddad all afternoon. Poor DH's dad. but also . It was pretty funny. She's such a boys' girl. She was almost pleased to be going to the childminder's the other day and was really settled when I picked her up and we're sure it's because there's a new male childcare assistant. She LOVES him. Follows him around like a puppy, I'm told. Daddy is jealous.

ShowOfHands · 19/10/2008 09:26

Oh TYG. Don't feel . Not only are you and S both making an effort to change your fitness levels, you're doing it together. So, fit and gorgeous the pair of you, mother-daughter bonding chucked in for free and you haven't quit after the first session, which believe me is common.

Mathilda likes old men with beards and glasses. So, anybody who looks like my Dad really. He's her favourite and her best (Lola overload). It riles the Ils somewhat but from the very moment of her protracted entrance onto the earth she has preferred him over every living creature. Good job as my Dad is my favourite and my best too.

We spent 3 hours in a bike shop yesterday. I reached a nirvana of boredom where I had simultaneously lost the will to keep breathing in and out whilst wanting to run so hard and so fast that I never had to hear 'look at the carbon fibre moulding' ever again. It's a good job I like dh.

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 19/10/2008 09:34

OMG 3 hours!! 3mins would have been enough for me!

TYG they look bloody knackering, i would have died after doing that! Will be nice for you and S to have some time together without A&O about.

ShowOfHands · 19/10/2008 14:58

Woohoo. I'm so proud of Mathilda. Today she asked to poo on the potty. She's very good at asking for a wee but this is a first. She brought her wipes and potty to me and pulled her trousers down too! She's growing up.

Sorry. Am aware that you're not remotely interested in my daughter's toilet habits but I'm proud of her.

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 19/10/2008 19:57

Wow that is fantastic SOH, well done to Mathilda. Ella will sit on the potty (with her nappy on) and pretend to wee, she has also sat on the potty and then produced a poo in her nappy. Girls to tend to be more advanced than boys when it comes to toilet training.

Tillyscoutsmum · 19/10/2008 20:02

Gosh - haven't even thought of toilet training yet

SOH - just read out the bit about bike shop to dp and he reckons "3 hours ? Nothing wrong with that". He has today ordered a bike for me so we can go on bike rides en famille. I give it a week .... if that

Burpees look like hell on earth. I'm knackered just watching the video. I'll stick to dossing hula hooping on my wii fit

ShowOfHands · 19/10/2008 20:50

I saw one of these wii fitty things in a shop yesterday. It's all very bizarre. Looks good fun though.

I'm not toilet training at all. Lord above no, too lazy. We just have a potty next to the toilet. DD asked what it was a couple of months ago. I told her it was a toilet for her and she shrieked wee wee, pulled off her nappy and sat down and had a wee. It's the months of insisting on accompanying me to the loo that did it. I suspect she won't be clean and dry any sooner than any other child, just interested in copying everything I do.

She's started saying "and" today. She walked round saying 'Mummy and Daddy... Chair and cushion... paper and pen'. She then climbed up on a chair, dh said 'sit' and quick as anything she said 'and down'. I thought it was wonderfully witty but I guess you had to be there.
