Lol lol lol I am at work and just read the title!!!!! (and feels rather proud that I got a title to myself!!)

Lizz - I think it may just be eastbourne as never seena ny of those people in local mothercare (although did have a quick look at the baby k range today!)

ladytophamhatt · 29/09/2008 15:02

PMSL

excellent title 2H.

Reggiee · 29/09/2008 15:08

Pmsl 2H

Eah glad to hear the news is positive.

UD hope you are enjoying your ipod. What did you get for dh in the end?

Lizz keep those Mothercare stories coming .

OMG Shimmer, only 3 more days!!! When are you aiming to open? Hope the cold gets better. You couldn't take the last 3 days as sick leave then....

Not at work today. Instead been trying to put the house in order. Managed to nearly do one room. Got distracted by loads of old photographs and not feeling great. Managed to do 3 loads of washing though so all is not lost.

Vino thought about you at the weekend as we drove past Emmerdale Ennerdale.

Reggiee · 29/09/2008 15:10

Can't believe I've just missed Diagnosis Murder.....

2Happy · 29/09/2008 15:12

It was one of the old ones, Reg, the one where the convict takes a Dr hostage then apparently shoots a presenter and himself, while knocking the Dr-hostage unconscious, so it's blatantly obvious the Dr-hostage did it all along. Not a classic episode. Murder she wrote's on now, though.

laughalot · 29/09/2008 15:37

Lol at thread title..............

Need to deal with a shitty nappy

Lizzzombie · 29/09/2008 17:04

eah - did you know that the mylene klass range's hangers are for sale at £2 each!!!!

lth - obv you come into the category of old women buying disposable knickers! Doh! Everyone knows that!

Rgee - You have almost been as productive as me! I have scrubbed our front step today. Yes, scrubbed it clean like a washer woman. I think its only the 2nd time I did that.

UD - Happy 2 years, hope your ipod is working out nicely and you've figured out how to use it.

Does anyone know of anything else good to do in Staffodshire - near Alton Towers? I don't know the area at all and we will probably have a few hours that aren't spent on rollercoasters on Saturday morning before driving back home....?

laughalot · 29/09/2008 17:09

Lizz there isnt much around alton towers at all to be honest. However inside alton towers itself there is a lovely lake which is so nice to have a picnic depending on the bloody weather.

trixymalixy · 29/09/2008 21:28

Hellooo!! Remember me!

Probably not as it has been a loong loong time since I have posted on one of the Jan 07 threads as I just don't have the time to keep up with all the chat these days! I do lurk ocasionally to see how you're all getting on, but have never posted because I felt embarassed that it has been so long.

I just came on as I was speaking to eandh on another thread and wanted to say I was glad to hear that it's looking like things will be OK for you. I worked for Abbey when they were taken over by Santander and they kept all of our benefits including final salary pensions etc and kept all of our terms and conditions the same. In fact i thnk they improved some things like giving us healthcare and improved bonuses, so it could work out better for you in the long run!!

Congratulations to all of you who are pregnant or have had LOs!!

xxx

Lizz - PMSL at your mothercare stories - you love it really

Urm, erm ah erm - forgotton what everyone else has put

Trixy - hello, lovely to hear from you. How's Trix? (Tricks...geddit?? )

I am totally in love with JJ at the mo. He is just gorgeous. I can actually hold a full conversation with him now, his speech is excellent and so lovely that he is able to tell me what is wrong etc. I gave him some toast tonight when he came in from nursery and said 'There you go my darling' and he repeated it back 'Dere go darlin...' hee hee

Lizzzombie · 30/09/2008 08:10

Wilkie - Oooh - what are you applying for?

Plus, have printable voucher for complimentary meal at Chef & Brewer pubs "When two adults order two main meals together from the main menu, the least expensive meal is complimentary when you present your personal voucher."

If you want it emailing let me have your address, have a few but not everyone x

Vino how are the girls ?

eandh · 01/10/2008 19:12

Hello

Not much going on here at the moment, Eddas & I seem to have somehow landed the job of sorting a crappy issue re wages at preschool so most evenings spent emailing/ringing each otehr to try and find the answer!

PCF - glad you haver things rolling

UD - any new ideas ont he names thread?

Lal - spoken to you today so know all your news

Wilkie - good luck for job- sounds perfect for you

Ummm now cant remember who else posted. I still have oral thrush but can just about manage to put food in my mouth now without screaming but have a really sore throat now (bonus thing about the not being able to eat thing being I've lost 6lb since Friday)

Lizzzombie · 01/10/2008 21:43

I'm soooooooo tired!
Took DJ swimming today with my Mum. First time in MONTHS and MONTHS as I knew it would be hard, he screamed the pool down for about 20 mins, then he settled into it. Phew!

Pcf - 31 weeks woo hoo! The count down begins!
Eah - How do you get lumbered with these jobs from your pre school? I am sure DJ's nursery has nothing like this going on behind the scenes. Is it a community preschool? (run by the parents) I am confused. Should I be volunteering for jobs?
Wilkie - Good luck with the application.
Lal - I'll think of you when I am screaming my head off on Oblivion! (maybe)

re Secret Santa.
I like 'intelligent fiction' books, cadburys, chunky silver, mostly anything from Accessorize. Um...make up? Sanctuary smellies - I love that Loua Loua one.

Can't think of anything else, apart from an IOU of babysitting vounchers!

Right am off to bed.

Feeling a bit apprehensive about leaving my baby for such a long time.

Back on Sunday x

Reggiee · 02/10/2008 18:38

Lizz have a fab time! Have a ride on the Corkscrew for me. I heard on the radio this morning it is closing soon as it's not much of a 'thrilling' ride when compared to the newer ones. DJ will enjoy time being spoilt by his grandmother.

Hi EAH. Oral thrush sounds really nasty (but 6lb ). You and Eddas always end up sorting out the preschool. I hope they appreciate you. Do I remember you saying you were the treasurer?

Lal what's your news? House is better than on Monday, but I can't believe how long it's taking to get it sorted. Still got dining room to clear. Bought a sideboard today - not totally sure about it but it was £400 cheaper than the one I really liked, so couldn't justify that. One of our upstairs radiator started leaking last night (when we turned the heating on) and it has leaked through and stained our newly painted lounge ceiling. Grr...

Wilkie I got that voucher and debating if I need to get anything for Xmas. Boots also sell ELC stuff and most of that is currently on 3 for 2. We need to arrange a meet soon.

PCF only 31 weeks 5 days to go. Who hoo!! Am counting down on your behalf . Things good here.

Hi Trixy. We all remember you. Once a January threader, always a January threader.

2H absolutely rofl at the Diagnosis Murder update. DH rolled his eyes and made some comment about 'not another one'. Don't know what he means. I started watching Moider She Wrote but had to leave half way to pick up lo.

I have a child genius. She knows her colours

eandh · 02/10/2008 18:57

Lizz - we are just a charity based preschool (ie open in mornings 5 days a week) so unlike a fee paying nursery that is run as a business local preschools have to have a commitee of chair, secretary, trasurer and 2 commitee members. Without that preschool cannot open, the downside is that those people have to make all decisions re pay etc for staff and it can get difficult if you have a umm how to word this 'persistant' manager in the preschool. I was going to be trasurer but Eddas doesnt want to do chair anymore so looks like we'll co chair and she do treasurer (makes sense as shes an accountant ) Hope you have a fab time at the towers

It will be easier in 2 weeks as we'll have a new committe where as at the mo everyhtinh is in limbo as old committee left but we havent been voted in, me and Eddas will get that place organised and efficient if it kills us

Rgee at radiator leaking (I ordered loads form boots website today in there 3 for 2 range plus popped to entertainer and big tesco this morning so girls xmas stuff is 95% done ) Am making nice things hampers for parents etc ie 6 bottles of wine, nice chocs, cigars etc and for grandparents going to buy a load of 'finest' stuff they wouldnt normally treat themselves to!

theSuburbanDryad · 02/10/2008 19:02

Hey - just a quick post to say that dh had his hernia op today, everything went well and we hope he can come home tonight. Not sure whether he'll be home-home (we are at the IL's in Surrey as he is at the East Surrey hospital) or just home to the IL's, but he sounds ok, although v woozy.

Whoever has got me, I like any form of milk chocolate (not too keen on plain) crappy chick lit paperback novels (anything except those awful "true life" books/biographies) umm....struggling to think of anything i like that doesn't involve smoking or drinking.

Really stuck on baby names atm. Any suggestions welcome!

Reggiee · 02/10/2008 19:20

UD let us know if it's a girl or a boy and we'll help with names . Glad dh is ok. Will he be expecting lots of tlc?

Nice man just been round to look at the radiator and stop it leaking. I can now wash 5 towels and put the buckets away. Shame the ceilings fu**ed. Will leave it to dry for 6 months then man coming back to repaint.

eandh · 02/10/2008 19:26

UD - I've just finished reading 'shopaholic and baby' (ring any bells ) by Sophie Kinsella - nice easy read and funny in parts (read most of teh shopsaholic book) do you wnat me to post it to you since I've finished it? Hope DH ok

Rgee - glad radiator fixed

Reggiee · 02/10/2008 19:34

Ahhh Xmas. I'm generally happy with whatever, but if you need pointers, I always love getting socks (plain) size 7. Sounds incredibly boring but I go through socks at a ridiculous rate. Also chocolate ... nom nom .... Green & Blacks a fav. I don't do makeup. HTH!

eandh · 02/10/2008 19:36

Ideas - love smellies (although not lavender as makes me sneeze ), stationary/smallish diary, anything that keeps me organised ,photo frames/photo accessories or failing that an afternoon minus dh and the dd's is always good
