Floria!!! It's before the watershed!

Heniz I am desperate to know now!! It's like our own wee soap opera cliff hanger.

Mine · 11/11/2008 13:36

Am i the only one with a baby that isn;t forming proper words.. Eren is still making sounds....

Although he can say Hello..but not properly!

muppetgirl · 11/11/2008 14:22

Mine - Henry just about sits up doesn't crawl, doesn't walk and he certainly doesn't say anything past

AAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH

and the more frequent

AH! AH!

He is going to be like his brother I'm sure as Ollie didn't talk properly till he was 2 and now I can't shut him up
He has leanrned where the light's ar eand points up and says AH! and if you say where's the sky Henry? He points to the sky and says AH!

FloriaTosca · 11/11/2008 15:56

I'm in for the group hug...consider yourselves squished!

Stefka: Its ok the very cold water at the swimming pool cooled my downthough the blokes training for ironman and triathalon in the adult pool while we are dunking our los doesnt help much! Haven't you had any news yet? I'm getting cramp!

Inzi; lol at Jane! definately one for the memory book...though you might have to record the advert so she know what you are laughing at in 20 yrs time.Hope the tummy bug clears up soon and that the mri goes ok.

Muppet; What is it with lights? Alex only uses 2 signs from Talkfirst, "all gone" and "light" and he uses light all the time!He is utterly facinated...we really should have taken him to Blackpool! (shame they were switched off on the 2nd)

Mine; I wouldn't worry about speach.. apparently Einstein didnt speak until he was three!
Alex is one of the older ones here and his words really aren't all that clear..he likes Bs; Baa (as in what does a sheep say?)baba(baby), byebye, Boo(k), ba(ll),bloon (balloon), birrrr(d). D's Daddy, Doggie (both of which often sound alike), Da(t)(that..as in what is that? or I want that)and Ks;kitty, kick (not the cat, honest, just a ball) and one P; potty....but they are all pretty similar at times...only daddy and the very rarely used mummy are crystal clear...You have to really know what to listen for...he actually much prefers the point and grunt or scream method of communication as ably demonstrated by Henry

We have long pull cords in the bathrooms so that Sam can turn them on and off, Ben has now mastered it and if we let him would do it all day

Regards words, none are really clear but in his own way that I understand he does say 'all gone' 'again' ' what's that' and 'ta' he understands a hell of a lot though it never ceases to amaze me Also when he wants something now he points at it and grunts, getting louder and louder till I understand what he wants

Sam is 3 and a half almost and his pronunciation isn't that clear on a lot of words. I can understand him no problem on 95% of what he says but everyone else struggles. Should I be worried?

They are both beginning to play really nicely together on occassions which is lovely to see, long may it continue.

Stefka · 11/11/2008 17:40

No news from that bloody school! Sorry Floria!! I am guessing not hearing means it is bad news. I hate that they take so long to let you know even if it is a no - they must know that people are waiting to hear.

Dareh says dada and boob and that's about it! Sometimes I get a mumumm but only if he is in a bad mood.

J2O · 11/11/2008 19:01

OMG how dare you all talk so much while i'm at stoopid college! off to read what you all been up to.

J2O · 11/11/2008 19:28

right now i can't concentrate till i find out why the Sep thread is so quiet!!!

Hi heinz by the way, and welcome

tell us, tell us, tell us!!!

Oh, and Dal, pass us a wispa please

Stefka · 11/11/2008 19:41

I want a wispa too.

I am in a bad mood now. How hard is it just to let people know. Obviously I am not the successful candidate or they would have called me by now but I still think it is piss poor to not at least let me know that.

LES - I have a bedtime routine with Dareh too. Bath, teeth, usually a book and then boob and bed. He sometimes falls asleep when feeding and sometimes doesn't but he seems to know now that it is time for his bed. I really like that time with him, he's always really excited in the bath and then really snuggly when looking at his book and when I BF him.

Ok I have to say it:

Heinz spill the beans!!

LisaLessLumpy · 11/11/2008 19:47

Anyone heard the news about that poor little 17 month old boy? I am so shocked and saddened I am finding it hard to stop the tears... in fact, must go and compose myself

J2O · 11/11/2008 19:52

www LLL-its horrible, how can anyone do such a thing , you can kind of understand that 1 adult may be F*cked up in the head to do it, but 3 of them well, not understand, but ykwim. At it was the same council as that little girl a couple of years ago that SS failed to protect, do they never learn!

Stefka · 11/11/2008 19:54

Really awful I always hated hearing stories like that but now I really can't stand them. It makes me feel physically ill just thinking about it.

J2O · 11/11/2008 19:55

nno what www was about.

Stefka, sorry you haven't heard about the job, maybe they where getting all the no no's out of the way, so they could tell you that you have got it tommorrow?! i'd ring them tom anyway if i was you, and if you didn't get it, find out why, am rooting for you though

Stefka · 11/11/2008 20:08

They always call the successful candidate first in case they say no for some reason. Logically I am telling myself that I didn't get it because they would have called. At the same time I know I am still going to be gutted when I get the official news.

J2O · 11/11/2008 20:19

it was probably a rubbish job anyway, you wouldn't have liked it

HeinzSight · 11/11/2008 20:58

Evening all . I'll post on facebook once it's back up and running, can't log in at the moment, it's down for maintenance or something.

One of Niamh's first words has been shoe! DH is very concerned about this, he says it doesn't bode well, a girl's first word being shoe!!

inzidoodle, thank you, Niamh is a lovely name, although, bless her- people often struggle with the pronunciation - tis funny at times, even Father Christmas got it wrong at tumbletots last year 'Ny am H'

I cried earlier when the news was on, so SO horrible what happened to that poor baby. It beggers belief what evil there is in the world , that poor baby was failed so many times by social services.

Stefka · 11/11/2008 21:00

They called. I didn't get it. Said I came second. It went to the girl with 8 years experience. I actually just feel numb right now - I guess the upset bit will come later.

LisaLessLumpy · 11/11/2008 21:06

Awwwwww, so sorry Stefka

FloriaTosca · 11/11/2008 21:12

Stefka;I'm so sorry they have left you dangling...I'm still hoping that no news is good news but understand your pessimism... big hugs.

I briefly heard about the baby boy on the car radio...had to switch it off, my eyes started to blurr...I'm really not capable of hearing such horror stories anymore, I just go to pieces....

HeinzSight · 11/11/2008 21:14

Sorry Stefka about the job

Dalrymps · 11/11/2008 21:26

Stefka - So sorry you didn't get the job, I really was hoping you'd get it. I suppose one thing to take from this is that you were great in the interview. (((hugs)))

I heard about the 17 month old , I just can't understand it, ho did nobody see what what happening?!!!

OP posts:
J2O · 11/11/2008 21:29

Stefka, I'm sorry honey maybe, the other woman will decide she doesn't want it, heres hoping!
