Oh wow our first birthday!!

Happy birthday Alex!!!!!!

Well done to Ben!

Exciting times all round.

I still have not heard if I have made it to interview. Think I might call the school if I don't get a letter today. Starting to get a bad feeling about it.

Stefka · 26/09/2008 16:52

No letter again today. I called the school and they haven't even done a short list yet. I asked if they knew when we would hear and they said they didn't. It's driving me nuts!

alicet · 26/09/2008 21:06

Happy Birthday Alex!!!!

Sorry no chance to catch up - will go do so now xxx

alicet · 26/09/2008 21:16

Congrats Ben!!!! My Sam is also doing the drapy thing - I knwo what you mean about feeling irritated by it at times and then guilty for thinking that! Adam has been a bit more clingy of late - think a combination of teething and a bit of separation anxiety - and I think my Sam is just reacting to this. I just try with the extra cuddles and affection and lots of attention when Adam is asleep / chilled.

Stefka hope you hear soon...

Floria hope you had a lovely day and that mil behaved! Have a lovely weekend.

Hello everyone else! I am on call tonight so frantically trying to catch up with you all and hoping not to have to go back to work - only just got home and had tea.

News from us is that Sam is potty training - can't remember if I mentioned it? He just asked to wear pants on Monday and so we went with it... Nappies at nap time and night but otherwise pants only. He is doing really well with wees although poos are a bit of an issue. He'll get there though! I can't believe my little boy is growing up!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 26/09/2008 21:30

Anya went to sleep tonight at 7:45 - that's over an hour earlier than normal. Alex's birthday party must have tired her out! Had a lovely time at FT's - Alex is such a grown up little man, walking about everywhere - can't believe he's only 11 days older than Anya. She was looking at him and the other walkers with awe - is probably dreaming about walking as we speak.

Big news, Anya signed 'milk' today each time she wanted it! She's copied me signing it for the last couple of days but today was the first time she's used it to ask for it. Does life get easier now that she knows she can communicate?

strawberrylace · 26/09/2008 21:33

I know its a bit late - but happy birthday alex!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 26/09/2008 21:38

Just gone back and read through posts I missed earlier. Muppet, that's unbelievably sad for your friend, I can't imagine what she's going through. Can only echo what the others have said about providing whatever support she wants/needs.

LLL - well done Ben for walking - woohoo!

LisaLessLumpy · 26/09/2008 21:45

He did six steps this evening and then stayed standing for another 20 or so seconds, up until then he has done 4-5 steps each one leaning more and more forward until we catch him :D 8 days till his b'day I wonder how he will be by then.

strawberrylace · 26/09/2008 21:46

Sorry I haven't been on for ages - work is tiring me out so by the time i get home in the evening i just want to sleep!

I hope you are all ok. I have to tidy the whole house this weekend, as Olly's birthday is next sunday (5th, same day as LLL's Ben I think), and we have loads of people coming to his party! I invited people thinking not everyone would come, but now they are, and i think i have 16 party bags to do for kids....

As long as the weather is ok we are going to get everyone out in the garden for a BBQ; if not, we'll be squeezed into our very small house [worried about how this is gonna work emoticon]

LisaLessLumpy · 26/09/2008 21:49

Hi strawberrylace, we have a fair few people coming too only 4 other kids though, the rest is family. I'm just going to do a buffet I think, oh and I am making him a pirate ship cake :D

strawberrylace · 26/09/2008 21:58

Hi LLL - At least with the BBQ DH will do the cooking! But I will have to do some other buffet stuff as well i think
I think I might do a mr happy cake, that way I can buy a round sponge and just cover it with yellow fondant icing! Pirate ship cake sounds far too advanced for me!

alicet · 27/09/2008 13:09

We are having a party for Adam's birthday next weekend too. 3 babies (one Choc's Rebecca), 2 toddlers and 1 10 year old then 7 adults. A much more sedate affair than Sam's first! On Thurs - his actual birthday - we are going to soft play in the am and then just chill and have cake in the pm. My mum is coming up and dh has the day off so just a small family thing. Just trying to work out what to do for the lunch next weekend!

alicet · 27/09/2008 15:26

Just added new pic of my 2 lovely boys for those who fancy a butchers!

LisaLessLumpy · 27/09/2008 17:19

Awww, they are so cute also love the family ones.

LisaLessLumpy · 27/09/2008 17:19

Did you see the new ones I added a few weeks ago?

LisaLessLumpy · 27/09/2008 17:20

Oh and today Ben did 12 steps, stopping a couple of times during them without falling over

alicet · 27/09/2008 19:24

Ben is doing great on the walking! Fab news! And your boys are super cute too - they get more alike every day

muppetgirl · 28/09/2008 08:38

Alice -lovely piccies, Sam has gorgeous hair! All the girls with love him....

LLL -Well done Ben!!! You little star x

Floria - You're the mother of a 1 year old, I really hope you had a great 1st birthday for Alex.

Strawberry -Hi nice to hear from you! Try not to stress about Olly's birthday too much ask people to help, do as much as you can beforehand and just enjoy x

Henry was rolling on his front, then his back, then front but only 10 before bed as he does virtually nothing all day. He is determined in his 'I will not do anything I do not want to do and will scream if you try to make me' I'm more chilled out about it than I was but he is getting very heavy to carry round all the time

Ollie has a party and we did his Christmas list yesterday as we are away Ollie was worrying that Father Christmas might not find him so we are writing to him and, miraculously, I think he may even write back (fancy that!) Hopefully this will put his mind at rest.

My brother and his wife are coming to stay from the 8th-13 Oct and are bring by nephew. I was wondering if I could ask school ( well I know I can ask but would you??) if he could have the Thursday and Friday off as he hasn't seen his Uncle in 2 1/2 years, Aunty in 2 years and he doesn't remember his cousin at all. I don;t normally go in for taking time off school but this is a family occasion and I'm not sure when we'll see them again. I would have said fine as a teacher, though I was never in the position to make the decision I haven't told Ollie yet as he will be sooooooooo excited to see Xavier and have him sleep in his room that I don't think they'd get much out of him anyway if he did go to school

Love to all
xx

Theladyevenstar · 28/09/2008 08:38

Hi all

well just to fill you all in.

DP was made redundant in June and as a result we had to move but the place we have moved to is massive it is 110ft long, has a 60ft cellar, a court yard in the middle...the bedrooms look onto it!! we have an ensuite the boys room has a walk in wardrobe. Pram storage in the back of the flat, errr i think thats it but i do love my new home, I will have to take piccies.

After we moved we went straight on holiday for a week only to Gt Yarmouth but we had a brilliant time.

Zachary has 1 1/2 teeth lol and can walk 1 or 2 steps before he gets excited and topples over. He is now 1yr and 2 weeks old lol not that I am counting.

There is a major difference between him and my ds1 when he was the same age. DS1 was so much more grown up whereas Zachary is still very much a baby and I am loving it.

I would love to arrange a meet up for as many of us as possible one weekend the babies, mums, dads and siblings....there must be somewhere we can all get to and have a day out and that way the dads can come along and meet as well....what do you all think?

The main thing we have been doing is fishing i had never fished until a few months ago and I LOVE IT!!!!

I have had a new tattoo done on my lower back and am trying desperatly to find a design i like for Zachary...think I will have to get the pencils out and design another like i did for ds1.

I have been searching secondary schools for ds1 who goes next september...omg so much stress!!!!!!

Anyway I must be off to drink my tea which is getting cold lol

Vaun xx

muppetgirl · 28/09/2008 08:40

muppetgirl · 28/09/2008 08:43

HI Tles!!!!

Lovely to hear from you, sorry about the redundancy but the new flat seems fab and I am about the 110ft long garden

I'm up for a meet up are you still near London?

Theladyevenstar · 28/09/2008 08:44

lol Muppet i figured that when I read it!!! Zachary at the moment is wrecking the living room his shopping trolley is out, the ninky nonk, iggle piggle, oh and the worst thing he has found the cupboard with his bottles in and keeps pulling them out lol
