Oh shush Scorpio, you might just make me feel guilty! And I've got a box of chocolates waiting patiently for me in the kitchen... Joking aside, that's wonderful!

MommyHasaHeadache · 30/08/2008 12:05

bloody hell Scorpio - very impressive! What have you been doing? I need all the help I can get - well it might help if I put down the chocolates!

scorpio1 · 30/08/2008 12:36

i have been doing 40 mins exercise a day on top of walking like normal, plus only snacking on fruit, skimmed milk & no cake or chocolate, etc. 1500 cals a day

Allow a takeaway of whatever one night a week, plus chocolate once a week.

Am 9st 7lb now, feeling much better!

scorpio1 · 30/08/2008 12:38

bought a beautiful LBD dress today...going to surprise dh on holiday bag and shoes (both patent) to match, dress is tie up over boobs then just flares out, short and backless. Bag big & black

shoes

LadyBee · 30/08/2008 13:18

You'll look stunning in it, I'm sure Scorpio, tres chic

Right, ok, you've shamed me into it. Will stop buying blocks of chocolate..if it's not in the house I can't eat it, right?

40 mins of exercise a day extra!? But, but, when will I MN?

Actually I had been losing weight from the BFing but it's stopped now, so I guess I do need to start doing something myself. Will do my usual thing of writing down everything I eat and see where I can substitute (won't be hard..peanut butter has been my friend since pregnancy, but really doesn't need to be an everyday thing). I've been paying a subscription to this site for ages - it's actually very very good both for support and for calorie/exercise calculators but haven't looked to see whether it allows for breastfeeding in its calorie allowances.

Am off to see if I can find my yoga/pilates DVDs...must be under here somewhere...

scorpio1 · 30/08/2008 13:20

i just don't buy it! Also make low fat choices, and i count fruit and veg as 'free'. I do the exercise i nthe evenings, on wii fit, so a run, boxing, etc.

LadyBee · 30/08/2008 17:33

yes, the 'not buying it' in the first place is definitely the best strategy. Will just have to ensure I don't head to the shops when I'm starving, as all my good intentions fly out the window when I see the chocolate muffins etc.

I never used to have this sort of stuff in the house - think I've fallen into the 'but I deserve it' mentality a bit, but will just have to persuade myself that what I really deserve are hips of the slightly less child-bearing variety.

Back to babies...the water thing worked quite well last night, he woke at 4 and I tried just soothing him back to sleep, which didn't work at all, so then I picked him up and offered him the bottle of water. He took it but not very happily. Then I tried settling him back down but he wasn't at all sleepy. Took a while of rocking, pacing etc to get him sleepy again but every time I put him down he'd wake and complain. Offered him more water, more lulling, same deal. Finally I let him sleep on my chest and we ended up staying like that for the rest of the night.

Not entirely sure what to do tonight, as his cough has turned into a full cold with runny nose, red around the eyes and he's just brought up an entire feed ( poor thing and OMG, it's shocking to see that much milk come back out ).
Not sure whether to feed him or just do water and comfort him if he wakes tonight. He hasn't been asking for food very much today, and now that he brought up that last feed, have a feeling he'll need something later.
hmmmm.
Guess I'll just play it by ear.

scorpio1 · 30/08/2008 17:35

i would feed him tonight if he's poorly

SalLikesCoffee · 30/08/2008 18:33

Oh poor thing, sorry to hear he's not well. I would probably also have fed tonight if I were you - all that good bm might just help him recover quicker.

SalLikesCoffee · 30/08/2008 18:33

vodkamartini · 31/08/2008 01:09

Hello all....I introduced myself as loumoose but then forgot my password and couldn't post! Now vodkamartini.....

Hope it is ok if I join in.....My LO is 20 weeks and drooling like crazy. She is also sleeping 7 till 6:30

Ladybee, sorry to hear about babybee - hope it is better tonight.

Scorpio - losing 9lbs - I am sill a tubster....and I ran a marathon before DD was born,

SalLikesCoffee · 31/08/2008 09:58

Hi again vodkamartini. Nice on the sleeping through!

Peachy · 31/08/2008 10:28

at the sleeping throgh- Bas shows no signs whatsoever but I have deduced its because he's a sucky baby and won't take a dummy- therefore is waking for that all night. Not much I can do really.

Am putting his crb on ebay- he has never even slept in it! screeches on sight. grrrrrr LOL

Found a t shirt in adams- 'little rascal in training'. The boys carnival club (yup that time f year agan) is rascals so that went down well at seaton carnival last night lol! I can't do so much this year as my mum will be clubbing in ibiza for 2 weeks again- pmsl

SalLikesCoffee · 31/08/2008 10:41

I'll join you Peachy - Roelof still waking at least every 1am, 3 or 4 am, and then again around 6! And while he takes a dummy, that's not enough then - he's seriously hungry and will devour a whole bottle!

SalLikesCoffee · 31/08/2008 10:42

On a seperate note: I had Lindt Chilli Chocolate last night - it's devine!!! (Diet obviously not going well at all.)

Peachy · 31/08/2008 10:45

well at least we're proof slids mnakes no difference to sleep- he's on 3 meals, one with 'pud', and thriving but no change to sleep pattern

vodkamartini · 31/08/2008 10:56

Morning all

It is great that she sleeps through, I am very very grateful, but I am sure teething will put a stop to that for a while so we are enjoying it while it lasts And I guess she may start waking if she gets hungry, the closer we get to weaning...

She is quite sicky, though. The mountains of laundry are quite depressing, as I can't seem to get things dry quick enough to ever get to the bottom of it!

Peachy · 31/08/2008 10:59

ah sympaties on the landry

we have had to set a day aside- wednesday- to tackle the post holiday laundry - its been weeks and t sits in a pile (a second carpet would describe it better) on the anding: we take clothes from it they get washed after and then repariated to the pile

it's the one thing we cant get to grips with, ds3's tolet training lapse didnt help!

scorpio1 · 31/08/2008 11:53

My washing is still broken....i win the laundry contest i think.

Not coping this weekend. Have realised if i was a single parent at least i would get some time to myself. Kev has been away since effectively Thursday morning, though i only saw him for 20 mins on Weds

He can't come home any earlier, because his ex doesnt want Z back until 5. (in glocs). Imagine the luxury of that!!!!! and of course he does what she wants. So here i am, last in the pile AGAIN

Sorry

He is bringing wine home though and has promised to sort all this out with me later.

Peachy · 31/08/2008 12:00

what you di is go in the car with them to gloucs (so you get chat time with dh) then get dropped here before he gets there (only 20 mins off route)

heh heh

if only so easy eh

scorpio1 · 31/08/2008 12:04

i wish things were easier, i didnt have children on my own. seriously, in the week, he is home for about 30 mins when dc are up, then gets home at 9pm, this is tues-fri nights. sundays he is out 1130 - 3.

he goes away alot, over weekends, and last night i rang him when i was pulling my hair out and he shouted at me

i love him but god i cant do this much longer, i need some help from him

scorpio1 · 31/08/2008 12:06

Will have to do that one day peachy, drop in on you whilst he picks Z up if you're not that far away...he lives in Matson?

SalLikesCoffee · 31/08/2008 12:13

Scorpio, I've got no advice really, but just wanted to let you know I think you're seriously impressive for having coped so long when being alone most of the time.

Not sure if it'll work, but would it be possible to discuss this in detail when you're both at home and relaxed? It really doesn't sound fair to me, but then, if it could work with a little more help from him for you, then that would be great.

scorpio1 · 31/08/2008 12:19

sal - yes thats right, it only needs a touch more help from him, most of the time i am happy doing the lions share.

but lately work has been alot, training alot - he has no time for me, i am literally last all the time. even his ex gets put before me and that is wrong. he is on his mobile alot too; i joked that maybe i should ring him and that way he will speak to me at least!! i feel like fucking off tbh

scorpio1 · 31/08/2008 12:21

i have spoken to him before and he says we will sort it but he knows i havent coped this weekend and has said we will sort it tonight

he has said he will take tomorrow off work & training to help me, but i dunno.
