Lovely pics Soph.

Soph73 · 25/09/2008 11:39

Thanks Denny - have just looked at yours & they´re gorgeous DS1 will be 6 next Sunday. I can´t believe it. Time seems to go even quicker with 2 - it was bad enough before ... and it means I´m getting older

OMaLittle · 25/09/2008 11:55

mine aren't on profile but

DD1

and

DD2

Soph73 · 25/09/2008 12:03

Aaaaahhh, they are gorgeous. What fantastic hair

VictorianSqualor · 25/09/2008 12:06

Awwwwww. I've just been nosey and looked at all the pics OMa
Tell me that wasn't your house you were painting in!?!?!?

OP posts:
OMaLittle · 25/09/2008 12:07

Thank you, I think so [totally objective emoticon].

'Tis from Daddy, who clearly has strong genes. Indeed I greeted him when he got home from work last night with 'hello, you look like my children', to which he responded 'oh, you don't look like mine'. DD2 actually looks even more like him than DD1, which previously I would have thought impossible. I hope she gets the hair too - she is strawberry blonde and it will be just gorgeous! Naturally they will both hate it and devote hours of their lives to ceramic straighteners [sigh].

SalLikesCoffee · 25/09/2008 12:21

Hi everyone, and hi again Soph.

Oh, all the pics are lovely! I can do this stalking full time...

Oma, I'd love to be a kid in your house!

Dh working from home today due to his cold (he looks a bit like Father Jack from Father Ted today - scary, scary thought), so I think I'm going to start preparing the room for painting now - if R wakes up he can always go and comfort him until I'm masking tape / paint free again.

OMaLittle · 25/09/2008 12:23

DD1 painting on floor? yes, that's our kitchen. The giant dictator's palace in a tree isn't in our garden, though , that's DH's art installation currently on at Stour Valley Arts in Kent!

SalLikesCoffee · 25/09/2008 12:53

Oma, that's brilliant. I've just had a look at SVA's website as well - I didn't know about it. Looks amazing though, will definitely arrange a visit.

Peachy · 25/09/2008 12:55

Father Jack? sexxxxy

d is at all times the spit of Mr Bean

emphatically not just Rowan Atkinson, full on Mr Bean

at least your dh has an excuse and is ill pmsl!

Oma- gorgeous kids!

Every baby on here has so much hair than my baldy! All the others were born hirsute though which is odd.

vs congrats for a big foray intro the world of sn spats (and PAL too); you go girls!

Peachy · 25/09/2008 12:59

Ladybee- lay weaning how it workss for you.

Bas started with a meal in the evenings, dh gave it as I cooked. He's now on 3 meals, but has his main with us (meal & dessert)

I just bf on demand as ever, as long as they gain its OK

SalLikesCoffee · 25/09/2008 13:23

lol at Mr Bean, Peachy. Good thing we love them, hey Just caught up on your other thread, and as I don't know enough about sn's just wanted to post on here that I'm thinking of you. And I mean this with my whole heart: You are such amazing parents.

Oh, btw, baldy here as well. All my friends' babies have full heads of hair, but not this one! Which is quite strange, as I've got way too much hair (uhm, everywhere!) to my liking, dh hairy too. Oh, and he's still a bit squint - hehehe, not the prettiest picture in the book then, but MAN, can he smile!

Soph73 · 25/09/2008 13:24

Sal - poor thing ... obviously I mean you having to look at a double of Father Jack
Peachy - Sam only had a small amount of hair on the back of his head when he was born, it looked really strange

SalLikesCoffee · 25/09/2008 13:40

Soph. Yes, when I promised "... or worse" I never thought it could be this bad!

Soph73 · 25/09/2008 14:38

LOL
Just to make you all feel better it´s absolutely peeing down at the moment & REALLLY windy. I just hope it´s not too bad in our village because our house leaks & as I didn´t realise the weather was going to be this bad I hadn´t battened (sp?) down the hatches!!!

Soph73 · 25/09/2008 16:44

Well ladies, it was lovely talking to you again. Home time now so think of us fighting our way through this gale that´s blowing Will hopefully be able to chat again tomorrow. Have great nights xxxxx

OMaLittle · 25/09/2008 16:55

I should probably point out that DH doesn't actually get any credit on the SVA website - he did only design them I suppose - I'm not married to Bruce!

DD2 doesn't have much hair, but she does have about twice as much as she did a month ago. Still got very persistent cradle cap, too.

Hmm, both girls asleep - odd time of day for it! Don't know if I should wake DD1 up - she's been hard to get to bed in the evening lately, I SUPPOSE it could have something to do with the 2-3 hour afternoon nap...

Thanks for all the compliments on my daughters, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!

SalLikesCoffee · 25/09/2008 17:00

Might have missed you, but night Soph, was nice chatting!

Oma, I know you probably should sometimes, but I can never get myself to wake up a sleeping R. Short term gain probably, but at that specific moment it's peaceful

LadyBee · 26/09/2008 09:50

bugger, was rather hoping that the long post I wrote last night, submitted and was greeted with "Mumsnet is down for refurbishment" or whatever it is that websites get, would somehow have magically been stored and posted this morning.

Hey ho.

At least I can pretend that I wasn't a complete sook about deciding to let DS stay in his cot THE WHOLE NIGHT last night...not I with tears leaking from my eyeholes...brave as a bear I was

It was fine. We had the monitor, he woke at 1:45, I heard him (ok, may have been vaguely awake most of the night), fed him, put him back in cot (after momentary wavering about whether to bring back into our room), he went back to sleep, I went bac to bed to pretend to sleep. Woke up at 6 in small panic at empty sidecare beside me, heard DS giggle on monitor and found him merrily beating his lamby against the bars of the cot.

We will repeat tonight. And I plan to go to bed early and read in bed, with the light on and everything.
