Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
VictorianSqualor · 02/09/2008 09:22

Oh feck off denny
Put A down at about 8:30, he woke up at 11:30, 1am,2am,3:30am,5am,7:30am
DP has offered to do the night shift if I express for him but there is no way I'm taking up that offer whilst he is training.
At least the kids go back next week so I can go to bed with A when B is at Nursery for a couple of hours if I need to.

VS, sounds hell, my sympathy.

And Denny, am . I want some of that magic potion too. Please???

Got Roelof's eye appointment with GP moved (they release same-day appointments at 8am), so will see what she says at 12:00.

I'm a bit upset, my best friend's dh has been flirting online (facebook and skype) with this stupid little slut girl, I suspect it's more serious than what she told me, she sounds as if her world is falling apart. You know, that loss of complete and utter trust thing. I so wish I could do something, but you can't ever say anything. Even though I feel like slapping him against the head and hiring a hitman for the, uhm, woman. Stupid, stupid, stupid guy. Dammit.

TheMaskedPoster · 02/09/2008 09:52

Hello ladies! long time no chat...

I have waded through the baby-rice, bottles, nappies, toys (and Facebook) to make it back to MN. Hooray for School to be starting soon (DD1 starts for the first time on Monday ) so I am back on here, limbering up the old fingers in anticipation of time to MN again.

I hope you are all well and enjoying the LO's ... I will have aHUGE catchup soon and get all the goss.

We are well - Livi is cruising along quite nicely and is very adaptable to being carted all over the place which is good. Have started a bit of weaning - but not too earnestly at the mo .. am going to have her weighed this am so will probably get some more ideas from the HV. Can't believe I've forgotten since last time!

The girls are sharing a room now so DH and I have our own space back - it's wonderful.

Take care all and I will endeavour to be back soon and more often to catch up.

xxx

Ah, sucks Sal. HAte those kind of situations.

Alex is crawling. Not toally but he lifts his knees up and pushes himself along the floor He started doing on on saturday but is doing it more and more. I think that is part of the problem with him waking though, he is crawling up his cot and banging his bloody head!lol!

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 02/09/2008 11:03

AIBU?

OP posts:
SalLikesCoffee · 02/09/2008 11:04

Yes, it's rubbish. And I find it quite difficult not saying anything, as I'm normally very honest about what I feel. But with this, I guess no-one is perfect, and I realise it's not my decision to make anyway. Am going into town tomorrow (great, rain...) to meet her for a coffee, don't want her to feel all alone (she's pretending all is fine with their other friends, so is avoiding them for the moment).

I cannot believe the babies are starting to crawl!!! They were born just yesterday, surely?!
VS, that's so cool. I wish R could get to grips with the "going forward" thing, hehe.

Peachy · 02/09/2008 11:08

Bas sort of propels himself about but but no stretch is it crawling, sort of wrigglng LOL! Well done Alex.

Just been to weightwatchers- damn. have to be careful now.

Also pissed off today. Every year we get 1 night out. Mum will categorically not take all 4, so we were taking Sam as lots his age go. Sems alst year the kids (we didnt go) mucked about so now there's a ban on under 14's . So- wait for it- t is now six years until we get a night out alone / with just one. Can't ask dh's family as they attend.

Need to find Bas a highchair this week.
Trying IKEA Wednesday. We want a wood one if we can, but sensible price and needs a tray as our table is very high.

Boys at school today- . DS2 in first day at Juniors. DS3 has a new 1-1 and we've been really cruel on her. basically school say he will be cured by next year so they will pull the 1-1 , no chance! So we said eff it- we sen him in joggers etc agaionst our better judgement to help his 1-1 but worried that it marks him out iykwim. Now he is wearing full uniform- buttn down shirt etc- sod the school, he needs to feel part of it- and sent no spare clothes either; they swear he's dry there after all (should empahsise he as pe kit he can swap into, and school 3 minute dash away)

sagitta · 02/09/2008 12:59

Well, we're back in the more-than-twice a night club - in fact, its got so bad that DH and I have moved out and are now sleeping on the sofabed in the living room! (While A has the largest, double room with bathroom all to herself!) But it was so much better - A slept better, and so did we.

And in anticipation of getting A out of our room eventually, I've just measured for new, cream, light-letting-in curtains, which I am going to buy the fabric for tomorrow. Knowing I am never going to have another baby is very liberating - I have also started to pack up all the baby stuff - 0-3 months - to put in storage for a friend. The newborn stage is over for ever!! . Instead, I shall just enjoy other people's new babies, and then hand them back when they start crying...

NEM - welcome back! Hope things are good...

SalLikesCoffee · 02/09/2008 13:10

Well, back from drs, and all is well. They tested his eyes, and his sight is good, neither of his eyes are lazy etc. Apparently it just appears that way as his eyes are slightly different in form, but that should settle. Hehehe, I have to laugh at my little weirdo (said with love ) - he prioritises growth in his arms, legs, tummy and bum. Hair and eyes can follow later.

Sagitta, lol about being thrown out by A!!! A new boss in the house.

sagitta · 02/09/2008 13:37

Sal - glad to hear that. If it's any consolation, A is a little weirdo too, with her crooked neck and smile...

VictorianSqualor · 02/09/2008 15:07

Don't he look gorgeous?

p.s. I don't care if you don't think so, I do

Peachy · 02/09/2008 16:03

Just ahd Bas weighed- 9oz a week for past 3 weeks , has rsen a centile!

And they still won't remove hm from the failing to thrive percentile, and still look worried. may I say it (and I dont often)

twats.

Denny185 · 02/09/2008 17:47

Well done Bas!

VS, hehehe, give it a couple of years and u will be bored with that uniform. I'm quite liking the firemans uniform, shame DH is scared of heights

Sagitta - does the double room have an en-suit or is it the family bathroom? DD2's first move was into the en-suit to give us some peace, they are so noisey arn't they?

DD2 may sleep but she does v little else, cant believe some of these litlle ones are trying to crawl.

scorpio1 · 02/09/2008 19:35

VS

well done to bas!!! lol @ twats

Mimi gets up on her knees too, but gets a bit cross after a while. last lot of jabs done today

dh training tonight, agreed night.

oh and i have a new crush - lead singer in The Feeling

scorpio1 · 02/09/2008 19:35

oh and VS - you must be so proud!

SalLikesCoffee · 02/09/2008 19:36

Sagitta, lol. Glad to hear we're not alone!

Brilliant news Peachy, I'm so glad for you and Bas. Can't believe they won't admit it. Agree with you. Twats

VS at your dh!

Oh, and Denny, I'll swop you an almost-crawl for sleep.

MommyHasaHeadache · 02/09/2008 21:00

Sagitta - was going to suggest what Denny did - put baby in the ensuite! A friend of mine's MIL was telling me that when her and her DH were 1st starting out they only had a 1 bed apt, and they put their DD in the bathroom - and the DD slept brilliantly in there apparently! Nice and dark and cool.

Well my DD slept right through to 9am (with a dream feed and a 2:30am feed). So pleased she didn't wake up! Tonight she did - and I quickly rushed up there and settled her before she woke too much (yes the ear is glued to the monitor!) So she is now sleeping again and I am PRAYING she stays asleep!

Started packing her stuff today - all her cute summer outfits that she hasn't been able to wear! Can't wait to feel the sun beating down on us! (Instead of the rain!)

Yay for Bas Peachy - he is a little trooper hey!

Your poor friend Sal. I do feel for her. I don't condone any sort of cheating whatsoever.

VS - I do like a man in a uniform! He looks good!

KnitterInTheNW · 02/09/2008 21:12

Yay Bas!

George is getting up onto his knees too, and somehow managing to 'windmill' himself around the floor.

We had a bad night, every time he stirred he rolled over onto his tummy and then needed rescuing back onto his back.

I gave in and tried baby rice at lunch time, he was feeding almost constantly all morning and still seemed hungry, and we were going to start at the weekend anyway. He was 23 weeks on Friday and the HV at the tiny stars group we go to said I've done well to keep going for so long. Problem was, by the time I'd got some milk out of the freezer, defrosted it and got it all sorted, he was too tired to even contemplate more than a couple of spoons. We'll try again tomorrow! No rush.

Sal, your little chubster is so cute - glad to hear his eyes are ok!

MommyHAH, I got my necklace from Little Gems Online, it's an American girl, she only charges a little for shipping and the necklace arrived within about a week or so.

We're still suffering here, but headed out today and will be out again tomorrow. DS has a nasty cough, but I've been taking his temperature regularly and he hasn't been high at all, so I don't think there's much point taking him to the GP.
Had a quick look on Boots and it looks like the baby cough mixtures are now not recommended for under 2 years, rather than 3+months...does anyone have any suggestions for helping to ease a cough?

SalLikesCoffee · 02/09/2008 22:52

Ah, thanks Ladybee. I've just had a look at Roelof's cough mixture (which we bought 2 months ago, so not sure if guidelines changed since then), and it's CalCough Tickly Glycerol, and it's suitable from 3 months (5 ml 3 or 4 times a day). The pharmacist said it's ok then.

SalLikesCoffee · 02/09/2008 22:54

I don't have any natural suggestions unfortunately - when pregnant I used to take honey and lemon, but they can't have honey under 1 year as far as I know.

LadyBee · 02/09/2008 23:18

That's the one I saw on Boots.com I think and the packaging says 3+months but there's a note on the website saying 2 years now.

Such a pain.. I wonder why it changed??

SalLikesCoffee · 02/09/2008 23:30

Oh lovely... Hmm, it's a good thing you mentioned, I'll check the reason tomorrow - no point keeping an open bottle if I can't actually use it.

LadyBee · 03/09/2008 08:23

woohoo!!!!!!!!

Benedict slept through for the first time last night

He woke up with a big grin and very hungry (fed and then he promptly had a coughing fit and brought back a lot, but he still grinned, my little battler)

Am very proud. Wonder if he'll do it again (ever?)
