Ah. I wasn't sure about Bluebell. Where is she anyway?

simpson · 28/09/2008 18:28

LaT - haven't seen her for a while. I hope she is ok....

justkeepswimming · 28/09/2008 20:11

hey hey everyone - i am better

i don't DO illness well!!

simpson - i am so there with you, whenever Dh does his back in and gets to lie in bed reading/sleeping whilst i do the parenting have gone as far as wishing my back to go too - tho dh can't cover the bf side of things so well, lol!

20months gap between my boys.

got in-laws here as dh away for a few days. went to seaside fairground yesterday and to a local small steam train thing today. ds1 having fun

mil cooking up a storm - or rather she did before she came fully loaded with shepherds pies, crumbles, flapjacks, etc so i'm eating well now, all that weight will prob go straight back on, boo.

got last storyrhymes tomorrow morning (as changing ds nursery days in october), taking a small box of chocs for volunteer lady, hoping mil will 'sit' for ds2 during his nap so i can concentrate on ds1.

um, mind gone blank...hello everyone else

AngeChica · 28/09/2008 20:46

just a quick catch up as I have some serious Freecycling to do this eve.

Many congratulations MrsMc!

Simpson have been following your story, I had a ex with mental health probs and I know how difficult it can be.

Gingeme you put me to shame with your ability to have 3 small boys and get your house nice and clean on a regular basis!!

We had a lovely day out up the coast at Bamburgh today, DS loved his back carrier.

DS awake at 11 last night, started playing in cot again, but if I left the room he got worked up so gave up and went back on the camp bed in his room where I have been this week with him having a really nasty cold. Some nights he was doing the playing thing at 3-4 am but is awake for a hour or 2 when does it so I feel he's not getting enough sleep at night while he does this. I hope this is just a phase as I am really at a loss as to what to do about it. I have taken the toys and mobiles out of his cot. If I just lay him down and try and settle him that way he gets upset. If I cuddle him in he wakes again 10 minutes later and gets upset.... sigh.

Gas people coming to fit new boiler may take up to 3 days and will be without hot water . Then back to work for me on Weds but at least it's only 1 day this week.

Lilyloo · 28/09/2008 21:03

Evening all had lovely day out today at Soutport haven't been there since a kid and spent most of it on beach as it was lovely!

Ange hope freecycle goes ok i got bit fed up with it so ebay now as gave loads of stuff but never got anything back (although i know that's not what it's supposed to be for)!
DD crying again her sleep is really pants better go settle her sorry

Gingeme · 28/09/2008 21:15

Welcome back jks glad your better. Keep your strength up.
Lol Angechica. If I don't blitz my home atleast once a week I'm not a very nice person to know. Trust me I can only take so much mess. The secret is wood flooring and leather sofas. Easy to wipe down but still look nice.Every time the boys have an accident I say 'damn and I was thinking of getting carpet fitted next week'
George was very clingy today too . When my parents came and my Dad picked him up he wouldn't let him put him down then Dh took ds3&4 out for an hour or so while I could get a few bits finnished and he just crawled around after me and whinged. I gave up in the end and sat with him in the front room where he was perfectly happy
He ate loads for tea tonight too. Wonder if it's a growing spurt
Well thats about it from me today. Going to try to get George weighed tommorrow.
Ds3 starts lunch at school tommorrow. He is so excited.
Night all xxxxxx

MrsMcJnr · 28/09/2008 21:16

Gingeme ? that gap ok then if you did it twice?? any tips??

JKS ? yippee! Enjoy that food

Angechica ? Thanks Bamburgh beach is lovely isn?t it? Hope going back to work goes well

Gingeme · 28/09/2008 21:17

Yeah don't plan it that way

madmouse · 28/09/2008 23:11

hi all quick wave

have done some serious pick up pat down with Nathan as he kept waking this evening. we seem to have come to a point where he will only go in his cot after falling deeply asleep on my shoulder or on my reast, not great with starting to wean this week. Lost count but it only took about 20mins and he fell asleep darkly muttering while I stroked his arm

am worried about bluebell, we were meant to meet on wednesday but she did not get in touch about arrangements and did not respond to texts. hope she is ok.

night to everyone, am knackered. although have the energy to do pupd now as nathan sleeps longer. Not down properly until 10.30 last night (we were at a friend's), but then fed 1.30 and slept until 8.10!

madmouse · 28/09/2008 23:11

on my breast even...

Gingeme · 29/09/2008 09:08

Morning ladies.
Well done madmouse. Keep it up.
George did his old routine last night. Bottle at 4 and woke at 7. Never mind we'll get there.
Hopw you all have a good day.
xx

AngeChica · 29/09/2008 09:41

Morning, we've had the best night in many weeks. He slept in own room til 5.30 without me !!

We obviously need several hours of brisk Northumberland sea air to make this happen .

simpson · 29/09/2008 10:51

Morning all

I had the best night with DD I have had for a while too

She gave a little squeak at 2am but settled herself till 8am!!!

Ds is at playgroup and the lady who runs it says she has just had Dh on phone saying DS has a dentist appt on wed and he would pick up up early

DH is not allowed to pick DS up from playgroup or contact them at all, don't know what he is playing at!!!

DD still not happy in the day unless we are out and about. Shw wants attention 24/7. She has a sore bum though so think that is causing some distress

Gingeme · 29/09/2008 11:14

Oh dear simpson that does not sound good re dh pretending to have to collect ds.
Metanium best for sore bums. XX

simpson · 29/09/2008 12:33

Gingeme - I asked him AGES ago to take Ds to dentist and I had forgotten all about it clearly he had not!!

Doc has been to see him today and put him back original medication, lets hope they don't start messing about with it again However he is MUCH better and can talk to him ok now.

Think her sore bum is due to teeth. Have put metanium on it and will have to air her bum before bath I guess...

fillybuster · 29/09/2008 14:46

Briefly, back...gosh there's a lot been going on!!!

MrsMc - massive congrats!! So pleased for you...yes, 2 under 2 will be hard work but they will really enjoy having each other to play with as they get bigger...and in my recent experience that seems to happen sooner than you expect: ds is 27 months older than dd so I wasn't expecting much interaction between them until she was about 18 months but they already adore each other and he happily spends hours playing with her and keeping her amused

Gingeme - my cousin trained to be a doula when she was in her late 40s, after her 2nd child went to uni, so its definitely not too late for you! There's a site (I think its www.doula.org but no time to check right now) which gives you some starter info about the training. She was brilliant - we were one of her 'case study' trial families before she qualified and I can honestly say that she saved our sanity after ds' arrival!!! Go for it

Ugh...two whinging children, got to run. T still not crawling or talking but mostly happy, unless I happen to attempt to leave the room when she is in it...in which case cue tears and screams. But apart from the velcro baby thing, all good here.

Can't believe I go back to work in less than 4 weeks... xxx

AngeChica · 29/09/2008 14:55

Gas board man has come and stripped out our antiquated boiler system. Someone then put his car window out in broad daylight in the back lane trying to steal his sat nav, so he has gone off to sort it out and prob not back this afternoon. I just love our neighbourhood ! I guess our projected 3 days without hot water might go on a bit longer now....

Meanwhile DS is at childminders for first full afternoon .... not sure what to do with myself! Have made a lasagne and watched Desperate Housewives.

LaTrucha · 29/09/2008 16:43

Hi all

is anyone else keeping a baby diary? I've just been updating mine. It's certainly an edited version of the truth as I'm intending it for Sabela and I don't want her to read about my 'FGS, go to sleep!' moments. I was given it as a present and now I want to get one each for future DCs as I was the last baby and I didn't get he same scrapbooks etc that my older brothers got made for them.

MM - good luck with the weaning. Let me know how it goes. I thought Sabela would never fall asleep without being latched, but suddenly five or six days ago she started unlatching herself wanting to be put in the cot. I put it down to her age. As for weaning, she'll take a bottle from DH at night and take 3oz or so, and I give her a bottle with breakfast and dinner and she takes a little, just to introduce her to it. I'm going to cut out night feeds at the end of October and wean in December. How do you feel about ending BF? I feel a bit blue about the idea. I think because it was such a struggle with the HVs to get to do it in the first place.

Gingeme - that's what we keep saying about Sabela's sleep - we'll get there! It's disappointing though when they have a good night but don't repeat it, isn't it?

Lucky - how's the settling going? I'll check out your cours ething in a bit.

Lily - sorry your DDs sleep still crap. Mine too!

Filly - Sabela turning into - or should that be back into - velcro baby. At least Tamara is doing it before you go back to work, not the day you start.

Simpson - gald dd is having good sleep and that DH has been put back on meds. IT's awful to feel the rug has been pulled out under your feet juts when you think you're getting somewhere with meds etc, isn;t it?

Ange - oh no! I hope not. I cannot live without hot water.

LaTrucha · 29/09/2008 16:45

colds all round here too. miserable but bearing up.

simpson · 29/09/2008 20:46

Evening all

LaT - sorry to hear you have a cold. I have a baby book for both DCs, make a point of updating DD's although it is harder as I have less time

Angechica - hope boiler is sorted soon. Real pain about the sat nav.. Hope you enjoyed your afternoon off, if I had one I would probably sleep and waste it all

Filly - My 2 adore each other too which is very sweet. DD laughs the most for DS out of anyone. DD not crawling or talking here either, although gets bum in air and tries desperately to crawl.

Madmouse - well done Nathan with PUPD method. Another big fan of it here

Gingeme - think DD's sore bum might be caused by wet wipes I never use them on her bum at home but what with everything going on have started to here, so gone back to cotton wool and water...

Lilyloo - glad you had a nice day out. Well, put DD on landing upstairs while I dashed to loo earlier and she did EXACTLY the same as last night, rolled and bashed head on door frame ANOTHER red mark

MrsMcjnr - How are you feeling?? Not too tired I hope.. Think DD might have broken her learn & groove activity station by jumping too vigorously in it...will have a better look tomorrow!!

JKS - Glad you feel better. Was it just you ill or did DCs have it too?? Hope you can't pass it on to them now!!

Lucky - Hope DD's sleeping is still going well. How about daytime naps?

Have a tough day tomorrow as my mum's cooker is broken again and guy coming round between 8am and 3pm to fix it so potentially could be in ALL day with 2 whinging Dcs, not looking forward to it at all!!

LuckySalem · 29/09/2008 20:56

Well today wasn't as good but that's cos we went out shopping and bought LOADS of stuff so she didn't really have a normal day today.
Had loads of mothercare vouchers so spent them today. Managed to reduce a £97 bill down to £20 (don't entirely know how lol)

Last night she slept from (wait for it) 8pm till 8:30am!! I put her in a grobag(?) last night as she seems really cold in the morning so don't know if that did any difference to her sleeping but she was warm in the morning (that's why I went shopping cos the one I had was for 3-6 months ) Bought a 6 - 18 month one today 2.5tog(?) She's gone down tonight at 8pm after much screaming cos she didn't want to get changed and get in her grobag.

I'm really sorry I haven't done personals but I do read them all, Just can't remember stuff today. lol

justkeepswimming · 29/09/2008 20:59

simpson - well ds1 has had a horrid nappy this evening so tho i thought both boys had got it and were over it, i may have more trouble ahead.....
dh away and was meant to be back late wed, but texted earlier to say he may come back by teatime tomorrow

so ds1 off to nursery tom (if well!) and mil, ds2 and i off to town for shopping want to see if primark have more of the fleece blankets i got there months ago as both ds's have decided they LOVE the ones they have! it's a battle to get them washed

have just had chinese takeaway with mil, yum
watching junk on tv, have to get to bed soon - still sleep deprived from my ill nights.

sorry - missing out most of you, am rubbish at catchups!
filly - great to see you back
bluebell - you ok out there????
LaT - you've reminded me, i'm behind with ds2's book!

simpson · 29/09/2008 21:43

JKS - hopefully it was just a one off bad nappy
