Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsMcJnr · 26/09/2008 09:59

Oh my god! I think I am pregnant took a test just now (well 2 different makes actually ) and there are faint lines on both! I?m jumping between excitement and fear ? I am so happy but no have no dr here yet, not on Soc Sec, no private health insurance, no job plus there is the whole heparin complication! BUT I?m hopefully going to have another baby!!!! Ovusoft says I am due on 6 June next year but they?ll only want to go on scans due to the fact that I am on CD536!!! DH is going to be thrilled but my parents are going to kill me, thank god they left to go on holiday for a week which gives me time to think it all through!

betterhalf · 26/09/2008 10:34

Wow MrsMcJnr Many congratulations.

LaTrucha · 26/09/2008 13:35

MrsMc

Just experimenting Gingeme? Poor both of them.

JKS sorry you're still poorly. Dcs giving you a break? Some chance.

Lily - how's Lo sleeping these days? Sabela still up at least twice and early wakings but bedtimes are still great.

Lucky - what a coincidence over the name.

Sabela has had her first go on the swings mainly maybe because the weather has been so dreadful but she absolutely LOVES it.

Hope it's sunny where you are!

Gingeme · 26/09/2008 15:01

Congratulations MrsMcJnr a faint line is still a line
George slept through till 6am will keep you posted if it happens again.
It is lovely and sunny here today. Will take ds's out in a min. ds3 keeps on about going on his bike.
Going to Willow Farm tommorrow. Making the most of the sunshine.
Hope your all having a good day xx

LaTrucha · 26/09/2008 15:12

MrsMC - Sabela came to our attention as the tiniest pale pink sudge on a test! ~I think if there's a line, there's a baby!

simpson · 26/09/2008 17:30

Mrs Mcjnr - Congratulations Agree with LaT my DD was a very faint line for a good while!!

Back later, am in between baths here (for Dcs obviously, not myself)...

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 18:11

MrsMc CONGRATULATIONS

justkeepswimming · 26/09/2008 18:13

mrsmc - Congratulations

still feeling a bit rough here, weight loss going great ...

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 19:05

Oh I feel like an evil mummy now. Just had a 1/2 hour fight with DD to get her to go to sleep. She got herself so worked up that by the time she fell asleep she was doing that sobbing huffing that happens.
Surely there is an easier way? Anyone?

betterhalf · 26/09/2008 19:34

Think I have just cracked the getting Toby to sleep. I just left him in his room chattering away and crawling up and down it, and hey presto, 5 minutes later he's flat out asleep. Just wished I'd tried that tactic months ago.

Had his 7 month assessment today ( although he is 8 months!) and all fine there although he seems to be very long! Dont understand why that is as both myself and DH are just average height. He weighs 20lbs 4 now, and can put him in the next stage car seat, which should be much more comfortable for him.

We're off to St Ives tomorrow for a week. I cannot believe how much crap baby stuff you need to take with you! Good job we have a decent sized car!

Anyway, bye for now and hope everyone has a great week.

simpson · 26/09/2008 20:44

Lucky - was she overtired do you think??

Sometimes if DD is over tired and screaming in my arms it is easier to leave her to settle herself. Obviously would not leave her for ages but if you know she is not hungry/sick then she will sleep quicker in cot than with me holding her screaming iyswim.

Have to say does not happen very often with DD it happened far more with DS at the same age as I was not as good at working out when he was tired.

Hope she/you are ok now...

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 20:55

I don't know... she barely kept her eyes open while I was driving home, ate her tea and then became wingey so I thought it was sleepy time but she suddenly woke up again.

I've started a new thread to get better ideas than just leaving her to scream as that was heartbreaking.

simpson · 26/09/2008 21:00

Lucky - it is awful especially when it hasn't happened before. I certainly wouldn't leave her to scream (wouldn't do it for DD for more than a few mins coz if she is tired she would have fallen asleep) It is definately heartbreaking, especially when they do that hiccuppy sobbing thing. But the thing to remember is she will not remember it in the morning.

Do you think she was on the verge of sleep in car and then just could not last much longer??

Did she eat much tea, maybe its teeth?

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 21:06

Yeh I think that's what it was. It's just really unusual for her to fall asleep that early (6:30pm) she normally goes at 8 so maybe I didn't realise how bad it was.
She ate LOADS of tea, she always does! lol

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 21:09

She's not sleeping in there very well and since 7pm when she fell asleep has woken 4 times. Should I just persevere or give up and take her to bed with me again?

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 21:11

We've got a birthday party to go to tomorrow and I'm scared she's gonna be too worn out to enjoy it.

simpson · 26/09/2008 21:26

Lucky - personally I would bring her in with you tonight and maybe get her used to daytime naps first. Have just read your thread did not realise she was in cot for first time in a while. That will make a big difference.

Where does she sleep in the daytime?? Maybe try and crack that first.

Also where is cot, in her room or yours??

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 21:28

Cot is now in her room cos it won't fit in ours (hence her being in our bed)

She sleeps on the sofa or on me during the day so will try to crack that. She's asleep at the moment so will try to leave her in her cot till as late as possible.

Thanks for this simpson - Hows things with you?

simpson · 26/09/2008 21:33

Things much better fingers X DH been well for 3 days now.

DS saw him today and DD going tomorrow then if all is well he will come to my mum's on Sunday for dinner and see all of us

DH seems totally fine when i speak to him now. I confided in RL friend today which was nice and it turns out she has had some experience of this kind of thing.

One more thing on your DD if she is not used to her room I would take her in there for every nappy change and then she will start to know room iyswim.

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 21:35

Oh we've always changed her nappy in there - She's got loads of Winnie stuff on the walls and have just thought that perhaps these are scaring her? Foam things

Glad things with DH are getting better. Maybe he just needed the break to straighten himself out?

madmouse · 26/09/2008 21:39

Ho all

Sorry I seem to have been a bit absent?

But so are loads of others, we seem to have become a rather small group

anyway, how is everybody?

MrsMc!! Congratulations, you exited and daunted at the same time? I am thick sorry but what does heparin do and what is the issue with pregnancy? And if you are living in spain as eu citizen you are entitled to state healthcare, or does that not exist in spain?

I am still in two minds, but no periods yet, so a way off anyway. Are they really heavy when they return?

JKS hope you are relaxing and better soon.

Ginge, oh biting is so nasty. I know I bit my mum as a tot and she bit back, but that is against current advice I think?

Lily how are you? Enjoy the early night.

Nathan is a rather demanding totty with a cold well at night, during the day he is all smiles, and I am a rather stroppy impatient mummy with a cold , well only in the evening when he decides that after a whole day of running after him I am also the best mattress to sleep on. Just tried some pupd but gave up as he screamed so loud that my newly syringed ears could not cope, my left shoulder is bust and I am knackered [sorry for self emoticon]

Oh well, on the upside the 12 to 6 sleeping seems to have become a regular thing, hoping for a bit more now he is eating three meals a day, but happy so far.

Continuing progress with his right arm. Today it got in the way while I was feeding him lunch in his bumbo. Not doing anything in particular, just this arm with star shaped hand waving past erratically took me a while to realise that it is not normally there.

Lovely autumn weather here, go out in pushchair in cold fog, return in warm sunshine. spent some more time getting moss from between bricks on our driveway with nathan watching the world go by in his bumbo.

night all, want to do some ironing. hope mr stays down for now.

madmouse · 26/09/2008 21:45

simpson so glad to hear that things are better at the moment

lucky, nathan settled easily in his room, also always had his nappy changed, but he has always slept in his own bed unlike Aaliyah. Hard to know what to do for the best, maybe play it by ear.

simpson · 26/09/2008 21:47

God don't say that we have loads of winnie stuff on DD's walls too

With DH i don't think its any co-incidence that when he had this in 2004 his dad had terminal cancer and this time his sister has breast cancer (but not terminal fingers X)

LuckySalem · 26/09/2008 21:50

Sounds like it just got too much for him. I'm glad he's getting himself sorted though and will keep fingers crossed for his sister as well.

Aaliyah has 4 winnie the pooh's!! One of which she stole from tesco's.... I really didn't notice it there till we got to the carseat. I should have gone back and paid shouldn't I....... oh god I feel terrible now i've admitted that.

Thanks for the advice MM - Sounds as though she's finally settled now so i'll leave her where she is and hope for the best. I may also try her through the day and night as much as she needs and "settle her" till she can settle herself again.

AngeChica · 26/09/2008 23:03

snap with the colds madmouse.

(drowns in rivers of snot).

goodnight all.
