LaTrucha · 20/08/2008 19:31

Goodness me. Things much better here. DH has been at home for a couple of days and has cleaned the house from top to bottm, which helps a lot! Sabela also seems not to be troubled by her teeth so much at the moment.

Thanks for nice messages. Eating seems to be back on track. She's loving cheese!

Just a brief pop in. Ta ta!

lilyloo · 20/08/2008 19:33

Back from zoo it was great and dc's loved it !
So much so they all fell asleep on way home so now all wide awake.

Hi ladies- Ruby fell off the bed today, she screaming for about ten minutes then seemed normal for rest of the day no lumps or bumps that I cane see but rang NHS direct thisevening and they have told me to wake her every two hours [hmmm]- it happenined this mornng at 8am do you think any ill effects would have become prominent by now, I just don't want to disturb her she's been aslepp since 7am and I can hear her snoring, I don't want a screaming woken baby at 3am as she hates being woken- have you guys got any experience of this?

lilyloo · 20/08/2008 20:03

bluebell replied on your other thread but yes have lot's of experience of this and they are all fine !

OP posts:
bluebell82 · 20/08/2008 20:09

thanks lilyloo- I have never felt such a surge of panic! I am going to get up with her tonight and just make sure she stirs. dh was fine just kept saying her eyes were black which they aren't! Wind up merchant shame he couldn't resist telling his mother!

lilyloo · 20/08/2008 20:14

Oh great just what you needed!
See my thread for feeling bad dd got sunburnt today in the cloud! Her skin is so hyper sensitive i just don't know what to do ?

OP posts:
poltesco · 20/08/2008 20:48

hi everyone
well what a hell of a 48hrs, dd waking up every hr for the past 3 nights. it was that bad husband took over from 5am 1st night he's never done that before!i feel like i'm sleep walking, how i managed to get through work without falling asleep i don't know. i can't workout what is wrong .probly bug on its way i suppose .

on a possitive note no more work hurray . i though i would be upset but its just a total relief .

bluebell82 that must have been horrible, as long as you can stir her its ok you don't have to completely wake her. we've had lots of bumps with a very adventures dss2 and he's always been ok

lilyloo dd is the same i tend to put factor 30 on every day before going out , but use 50 on sunny days, with also got a factor 50 parasol on the pushchair and that seems to work for us!

nicky6 · 20/08/2008 20:52

me and dh all good again long chat and a bit of compromise on both sides works wonders.

charlie seems to be embarking on teething just before we go on holiday sore bum lots of dribble etc etc

buggy arrived today and very light takes up no space - lovely off now for food

lilyloo · 20/08/2008 20:55

I have spf 50 suncream which i use on sunny days but never had to use on cloudy days.
Also have parasol but didn't think to use it as it was overcast with dark clouds!
The suncream ggrevates her eczema so have tried to keep off it but will have to use it again i guess.
Amani ? Know your dd has eczema. Actually where have you been recently ?
Guess i will have to shop around for suncream.

lilyloo · 20/08/2008 20:57

Poltesco guess bug or teeth but hope it passes soon!

Nicky yeah is it tom you go ? Nice to go with everything good again with dh! Have nice time!

OP posts:
poltesco · 20/08/2008 21:12

we've already got 2 teeth through and she dosen't seem to ave sore bum or dribbling but she is chewiing alot but then she always has from about 3 months

sorry about eczema dh and both dss have it we use nivea at mo, but it took us awhile to find one that suited them all, i'm afraid its just a case of keep trying until you find one that suits, cost us a fortune to find it but hay it was worth it

poltesco · 20/08/2008 21:30

right i'm off to bed before i fall asleep night all

gingeme · 20/08/2008 21:31

Evening ladies.
jks I think our lo's are in cahoots re waking up. George had me up at that time too though he did sleep from 7.15pm so shouldn't complain realy.
Yay nicky on getting things sorted with dh What make buggy did you get?
Thanks for that about dh's back. He might be getting it done privately through his work so it will be done quicker. He is so much pain can't even walk down the road without sitting down half way.
Sounds all good in your household too LaTrucha .
bluebell I think your lo will be fine. Bbays are bouncier than you think
Well thats about it from me. Off to bed soon try to catch up on the sleep I lost this morning
Night all xxx

Mamaismia · 20/08/2008 22:02

ladies yay or nay ? bored of old one aka Lilyloo

Mammaismia · 20/08/2008 22:04

oops missed an m

MrsMcJnr · 20/08/2008 23:29

Ah Lucky that?s great!!! Those dogs have so much character! Your DD will love them! But how about the cats??!!

JKS ? oh my god that?s early!!!!! trust you to find a silver lining though! I?ve not seen any of the Olympics yet

Hello Betterhalf , hello Kelix!

LaTrucha ? glad to hear all seems calmer on the home front! Rest lady!!

Lilyloo (liking the new name ) ? sounds like you are all having fun! I hate putting suncream on DS, he gets a rash because the cream is so thick and it is so hot so I am ashamed to say that I keep him in the shade and use the parasol a lot and don?t use the cream unless he is actually exposed. I am sure what I do is not good enough. He has never had any signs of sun though he is browner than when he was in the UK.

Bluebell ? poor Ruby and poor you!! It?s so horrible isn?t it? I read in ?What to expect in the first year? that you should observe them carefully for 6 hours and if it is night time, check them every two or three hours to be sure she is responsive but I?m not sure that that means you should wake her up.

Poltesco ? that waking sounds exhausting, poor you!!

Nicky6 ? glad to hear that you got things resolved before your holiday hon, have fun!

Gingeme ? hope you get more of a lie in tomorrow!!

LuckySalem · 21/08/2008 07:42

As the dogs are so small we I think that that's the best type of dog to get them used to. The rescue is aware that if the cats hate them then the dogs can only come out of kitchen while the cats are outside which to be fair is pretty much most of the day anyway and then we won't foster again.

I have a stinking cold. Feeling really sorry for myself. lol

Lilyloo · 21/08/2008 11:05

No staying as Lilyloo can't get used to namechange and even got accused of boing troll last night Not good omen!

Lucky poor you are the dogs here yet ?

MrsMc i suppose he will just be able to build up gradual resistance!

LaTrucha · 21/08/2008 11:36

Lily - I must say, i don't reall yuse suncream on Sabela even though she's very fair. I just don't expose her to the sun. Sorry about your LOs sunburn. As a fair-skinned redhead, I can say there is ALWAYS a cloudy day in the summer when I get burnt and I always get caught out.

Luck- YAY for dogs! BOO for cold! Hope you feel better soon.

Nicky - glad things are settling with DH. Baby does put a strain on. What's your routine, out of interest? Have good hols - you probably won't have time for posting routine.

Gingeme - sorry George is still waking. And sorry for DHs back. I can't remember what advice you were posted but has he tried an osteopath? ~I think they work well in tandem with physio.

Poltesco- hooray for no work! Hope teething is ok. Try not to be like me and buy ten teething rings and things. A wet muslin or towel is by far the best!

Bluebell -How's DD this morning. More importantly - how are you! Have you got over the shock?

BRUM MEET-UP LADIES. I'm really sorry but I can't come. I'm totally narked at missing it but the reality is we've got a lot of demands on our money (painting house / buying computer, etc..) in the next two months and I was getting really stressed about the train fare. Almost £30! It even woke me up in the night, so I decided enough was enough. Will do my best to come to the next one. Does anyone want me to send them the Sealife vouchers or do you have enough?

Where's Madmouse?

betterhalf · 21/08/2008 13:42

Hello everyone!
Bluebell, I have been so close to having Toby fall off the bed. Managed to grab him before he lunged over! They move so fast don't they. I am sure it will be me posting soon about him going off the bed. You can't be everywhere at once or have eyes in the back of your head.

As for sleeping Toby has slept through for the past 3 nights! Yippee! In fact last night he was in bed for 7pm, woke around 6am for milk and then re settled back down and slept til 9.30 this morning! Can't quite believe my luck. I think he missed his Daddy as since DH has been back from Europe we have had good sleeps! Typical, I had been moaning to DH about how Toby wasn't sleeping and I'm sure he doesn't believe me as there hasn't been a peep out of him during the night since he's been back.

Food wise I am persevering with food not quite so pureed and Toby will sort of have a go at it, but is lazy and just like the no lumps stuff he can swallow straight down, so feeding takes a flipping age! Ah well.

LuckySalem · 21/08/2008 13:49

No dogs yet I'm trying to sort out when they're coming. It could be as early as tomorrow.

Amani · 21/08/2008 15:53

Hi everyone,

Hope you and your LOs are well? Not been on for a long time as I've had a lot going on....

Please take time out to read my plea

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/8/591395?rnd=1219330166912 really am struggling at the moment....

AngeChica · 21/08/2008 17:06

Hi Everyone!

just calling in after our month away. Can't believe you have got through a whole thread in that time! Hope everyone and their LOs are all well. I can't possibly catch up so a summary would be good if you have a mo!

Wow MrsMcJr you're back!

Alek has 2 teeth and pretty much crawling. He has grown loads (again!!!) while we were away. Mummy was very lazy and fed him on Hipp baby food mostly the whole time.

BG was very hot, and the whole country annoyingly un baby and buggy friendly so quite challenging at times! But..... DH did all the cooking and got to spend loads of quality time with DS which was great.

Now off to try and get all the stains out of his clothing.... more later.

LaTrucha · 21/08/2008 17:14

Hi Ange! welcome home.

LuckySalem · 21/08/2008 17:15

Ange - your back!! How was the hols?! details details.
