Lucky - the noise thing is funny because if you copy what noise she has just made ie gaa gaa etc she knows its the same noise she has just made and to her its the funniest thing ever

Crawling wise she gets frustrated if she can't reach toy etc but have positioned her so legs at edge of sofa so she can push off that iyswim and that helps... for a short time

Hope she doesn't crawl too soon TBH as no stair gates at my mum's.

How are kittens BTW?

LuckySalem · 23/09/2008 23:29

Kittens are fine. Cute as hell. They've learnt to use the litter box already hope DD is this easy to train!! lol

The copying game is a game she'll only play with her dad. If I try she looks at me as if to say "What the hell do you think YOU'RE doing?" lol

simpson · 23/09/2008 23:44

Talking of training DS did a poo in the loo today

He has been asking where his daddy is today which has been hard

DD has putting her arms up for me if she wants a hug the last couple of days which is v sweet as DS never did that.

Gingeme · 24/09/2008 09:45

Morning ladies.
Oh simpson I bet that tears at you heart ds asking where his Daddy is so sweet dd holding her arms out though
Clever kittens Lucky maybe we should get a litter tray instead os a potty then
MrsMcJnr thats why they do it because its unknown to them. Mind you I'm probably part to blame changing him on the sofa. I normaly do it on the floor he is such a bloody wriggler though.
Well not much occuring here today realy. Weathers rubbish so looks like a day indoors .
Hope you are all well.

LaTrucha · 24/09/2008 11:12

Simpson - what an awful night. I hope you at least got some sleep. Congratulations on the poo.

MM and Lukcy - so cute hte 'chatting' isn't it. We've had mama, yaya, dada and loads more. BUt no papa yet which is distressing to the Spanish papa!

Filly - sorry about the party / lack of sleep. It's awful when they kick off jst when you're on your own. I had DH on the phone saying, 'I just can't understand what's gone wrong'.

MrsMc well done to xavier for crawling!

Sabela not only settled in her cot in THREE minutes last night (although she did wake sevearl times in the night) is giving us lots of kisses. She kind of thinks she needs tolick us as oart of the kiss, but whenever we give her a kiss she turns her face round and opens her mouth to give us one too! CUTE! She particularly like kissing the ends of noses! awwww

justkeepswimming · 24/09/2008 11:18

feeling a bit dodgy today - was up most of the night myself, combination of indigestion (curry takeaway), dehydration (forgot my glass of water), cat being sick (nice) and general ugh-can't get comfortable, so hardly any sleep and can't blame the boys!
ds1 thankfully at nursery, ds2 napping so i have had an hour in bed -someone rang the doorbell which woke me up and didn't leave a note of anything so now i'm frustrated not knowing who it was!

simpson - best of luck, poor you dealing with all this.

right, not long til ds2 wakes i'm sure so need to get stuff done!

Lilyloo · 24/09/2008 13:57

Afternoon all

Lucky dd does that too and it sounds just like a real word!

Simpson what did his sis say ?

Poor babys who are constipated sorry no advice!

Wow MrsM so it does rain then!

JKS massive symapathys it's so hard on your own esp when lo's unwell it was awful without missing out on a night out too! Hope you feel better today!

When you all had your 8mth checks did you get your free books , toothbrush and paste etc ? Did you get free doidy cup too what do you think to them ?
Can see the reasoning behind them but to me cups with no lids are just meant for disaster surely

simpson · 24/09/2008 14:35

Hi all

Well i think DD being off colour yesterday might be down to teeth not the change in milk. We shall see...

Her checks all flushed etc. No temp though. She screamed and screamed this morning then slept for 2 and a half hours, I had a nap too as DS at playgroup so feel a bit better

She has been awake for 45 mins and showing signs of being tired again!! Have given dose of calpol and put her down. Hope i don't have a bad night. This is the 2nd time of teething we have had with DD and still no teeth through..

DS watching Cbeebies 9bad mummy!!)

Lilyloo - His sister very upset but spoke to BIL and he said they would be willing to have him with them if it came to it so we shall see..

justkeepswimming · 24/09/2008 19:33

turns out i have a dodgy tummy - ds1 had it a few days ago but it didn't seem to bother him too much, ds2 has it today and went to bed early with calpol night.
i'm off food (got to be good for the diet right?) and got the shivers, bad indigestion too, headache, all of it, yuk

going to have a really early night - have had 2 naps today with ds1 at nursery but still shattered
oh well, let's hope it's a short-lived bug...

meant to be going to a play centre for a birthday party tomorrow too, cant face it like this.

simpson - cbeebies a bad mummy does not you make!!! hope dh does go to ireland for a bit, and you can get your feet back on the ground.

lily - didn't get the etc free stuff, just the bookstart bag. tried doidy with ds1, was good for a bit but yes was messy! haven't bothered with ds2, just straight onto a sippy cup.

right, off to check on ebay, night all

Lilyloo · 24/09/2008 20:14

Ladies did anybody want a cheap playpen someone selling one cheap on here

OP posts:
AngeChica · 24/09/2008 21:24

Poor you JKS it's horrible having tummy bug, you just feel like death warmed up don't you!

Got DS weighed today: 24 lb 4! Some friends have lent us a back carrier, it'll be a workout lifting him in it at this rate

I haven't really got into CBeebies yet but was flicking through today and saw Lazytown... so is Sportacus put in there for the mummies to ogle at or what? . He's very pert, isn't he!!

MrsMcJnr · 24/09/2008 22:04

Wow Lucky ? Aaliyah sounds really vocal amazing how animal babies learn to do things and become more independent than human ones isn?t it?

Simpson ? agree about the smelly nappies ? yuck!! Good on DS for the poo in the loo sorry to hear that he is missing his Dad though but glad to hear DD is giving you cuddles. Poor DD. I resorted to CBeebies too, DS loved it.

Hello Gingeme

LaTrucha ? wow lots of words there too! Xavier does those kisses, so sweet aren?t they?

JKS ? poor you hope you have a better night tonight and feel much better tomorrow. How annoying about the doorbell when you were sleeping

Lilyloo- think I got that kit from HV before we left Scotland but no doidy cup

Angechica ? wow! Great weight!

I got locked in the loo at soft play today for 15 mins luckily a friend had DS! He loved crawling about there!

LuckySalem · 24/09/2008 23:01

We get those open mouth kisses sometimes - sometimes she turns her head away and giggles... I think she thinks its a game.

I was so proud of her today for such a stupid reason. We had chips from chippie chicken so I thought it might be too dry for her and made her a drink of juice (in my £2 asda cup) Put it on her table to give to her at the end and she drank it all by herself. (which isn't that spectacular cos she's been doing that for a while) but it was the fact that she'd eat a bit then drink some juice. She's like a real person now. Its lovely.

I think we might be having teeth here soon as well, very red cheeks today and ALOT of screaming.

Are any of you trying to discipline yet? I've tried telling her no when she does things she shouldn't but she either screams cos I'm not allowing her what she wants or giggles at me and goes straight back for it. I don't know what to do with her cos its not like I can put her on the naughty step lol

SPORTACUS is annoying - just walk there will you man!! DD loves Lazytown though.

Simpson - Sorry to hear DS is missing his dad and I hope things get better soon.

We had another mum today and a da but no dad.

simpson · 25/09/2008 09:18

Hi all

My Ds is a big lazy town fan and takes his lazy town scooter everywhere with him, even to bed!!

DD only interested in ITNG ATM.

DD is also very good at drinking water and holds her tommy tippee cup and does it herself as long as I don't put too much water in then its too heavy.

Lucky - I know what you mean about them being a proper little person now, DD had her first temper tantrum yesterday as she was holding a toy car that DS wanted and when he took it off her you would have thought the world had ended

Angechica - Sporticus definately there for us to look at, how else can we cope with watching the same episode of Lazytown 100 times Pity about footie result last night

DD has been up for 45 mins and is hanging so gone back down again. Might join her for a cat nap as DS gone to playgroup. Today should have been his first day at pre school

LaTrucha · 25/09/2008 15:49

JKS - are you feeling better? Hope so.

HI Lilyloo!

MrsMC - I bet you were panicking! Are you getting any more sleep these days?

Simpson - Goodness me woman! Don't worry about Ceebeebies and preschool! You're doing fab. Hope you did get a nap.

Lucky - at the cup. It's lovely seeing them becoming little people. I do think Sabela understands when I say no so I think it's worth persisting quietly and patiently.

Ange 24lb!

Well, Sabela is still settling in her cot very quickly, and is going back in after each waking. I wonder how long that will last? She hasn't repeated her 8-hour sleep but at least it feels like we're making progress.

I've got rid of the playpen I won on ebay as I hated the metal bars. I swapped it with the lady who runs my local baby shop. She gave me a new travel cot for it and I think we're both well pleased.

Anyone else get the feeling they're not going to be babies for too much longer? I've been taking loads of photos and videos recently and I realised that it's because she's not going to be a baby for too much longer

Gingeme · 25/09/2008 16:18

Sporticus sigh! Definately for the mummys
We bought George an Avent cup with the valve in it. Two for £5 in Tesco. Brilliant things. He doesn't shower himself in juice any more
Simpson isn't that what Cbeebies is for then ?
Good swap LaTrucha with the playpen.
MrsMcJnr sloppy kisses are the best. We have lots of slobber down our bedroom mirror where he kisses himself too
Dread to think how much George weighs now. He in fact feels heavier then my nearly 2 year old
We went to Clown Town this morning after ds3 finnished school. Making the most of taking him as he starts having lunch at school next week then full time the week after. He is so excited
Well best get the kettle on. Have a bit of a rest before DH gets home and I have to make dinner.
Take care all xx

LuckySalem · 25/09/2008 18:20

I think Aaliyah said her first words today that actually sound like words. She's been saying "dada" over and over again.

We also this morning had kind of an aaliyah only it sounds aeeeya.. lol

Simpson - dont worry about the small things, I'm sure they're fine!!

MrsMcJnr · 25/09/2008 18:33

Xavier has zonked out after his swimming class he?s so cute in the pool, loves it!

Lucky ? our babies are growing up aren?t they? I read that this month they may recognise ?no? but won?t often be deterred by it. I find Xavier his most difficult when I am trying to change his nappy and he rolls all over the place, I have to hold him firmly but gently in place and he often doesn?t like it, but hey, I?m the boss. No words here yet but he started waving today

Simpson ? how are you today hon? I was proud of DS yesterday at soft play, a big boy tried to take a toy from him and he sort of growled and held it tighter and the big boy went away ? that?s my boy!!

LaTrucha ? sorry should have said, I only had a few disturbed nights and then DS went back to sleeping through. I know I?m lucky hope you start getting full nights every night soon. Shame about the playpen, we are still loving ours (it has mesh sides apart from one side where the gate is) glad you got a swop though. I agree about baby time running out, I must film more.

Gingeme ? mirror kisses, how sweet!

DH has gone to watch Malaga FC tonight so I have the house to myself we have friends coming for dinner tomorrow night so do need to cook for that?.!

Hi all

Got a LOVELY cat nap of nearly 2hrs

Think I might pay for it tpnight though when DD wants to play at 3am...

Have to go to DS's playgroup and sign some paperwork tomorrow so no chilled morning with just be and DD

Mrs Mcjnr - Bless Xavier, swimming must really knacker him!! Good for him holding onto toy from some bigger bully/boy!!

Lucky - Keep meaning to ask you where you got Aaliyah's name from, what does it mean? I have never heard it before and its a lovely name.

Gingemme - Are these avent cups any better than tommy tippee ones then? Might have to buy one...

LaT - definately think you got the best deal with the swap I know what you mean about them growing up, was just thinking last night how much DD has changed since I have been at my mum's. Standing more, holding cup/bottle by herself etc.

Well MN down from 10.30 tonight so an early night for me tonight methinks

justkeepswimming · 25/09/2008 21:01

still not feeling great but on the plus side have lost 4lbs in 2 days
had some dinner so think i'm on the mend slowly.
what with period, dodgy tummy, not eating and still bf lots no wonder i'm a bit low on energy!

ds1 enjoyed play place for party - and behaved v well [proud mummy], but no nap afterwards and ds2 didn't nap properly either - do you ever think it's easier just to stay at home???

right, off to bed soon, sorry no personals, hopefully back on track tomorrow....

Gingeme · 25/09/2008 21:42

Evening.
Had some serious crying this evening. Edward bit Georges fingers absolutely no idea why but Dh shouted at him which is a non occurance usualy. He then tried to cuddle me but I ignored him. Broke my heart but he has to learn. Was a very big shock though he's usualy so lovely to him. Poor George was sobbing and has a sore finger now.
Anyway yes simpson the Avent cups are very good. I usualy use the anywayupcups but George isn't strong enough to suck them yet so we tried this one and he's doing brilliant with it.
Thats about it from me.
Hope you all have a good night xxx

LuckySalem · 25/09/2008 22:05

Ginge & JKS - sorry to hear your both having yucky days. I hope you both feel better.

Simpson - Aaliyah is arabic it means lofty, sublime, exhaulted It's meant to be the female version of Alah (sp) we named it her because we like the singer/actor of the same name. Then when DD was born DP looked for names and it turned out that she was born on the same date. Also one of her nicknames was "baby girl" which is what DD was for 4 days while we thought of a name.
