ceebee, don't know what to suggest really as Emma was 3 when Sophie was born so a little older. She wasn't really any different to her normal wild behaviour. I'm sure if you involve Josh in the nappy changing and bathing he may settle down. Must be a big shock that he suddenly has to share you and DH with Sam.

Ceebee - CONGRATS!!! He's beeeeyotiful, what a lot of gorgeous dark hair. Was Josh dark when he was born too? Love the thumbs up from Josh, even if it was accidental

ceebee74 · 24/11/2008 13:30

Thanks for your lovely comments - I have just added another photo which I took this morning which is really cute - I will stop boring you shortly I promise!

Pixel - yes Josh was born with loads of really dark hair aswell - it all fell out at a few months old and grew back blond

Spin - the birth was as lovely as can be expected from a c-section. Very calm, surgeon was lovely - only hiccup was that it would appear that they didn't do a very good job first time around as they found loads of scar tissue! The recovery seems much better aswell this time!

Josh seems much better today - no visitors either which means we have been able to relax and have a calm morning. DH took Josh to a play area for a couple of hours which has helped us all!

thefortbuilder · 24/11/2008 15:12

hey cb congratulations! So proud of you and of course my 2 most favourtie boys names of all!!!
i second whoever said get josh involved. it will get better it will just take him time. also at some point make a big deal of spending just a few minutes one on one with josh - i know for jacob it felt like i was always (and still do have to a bit of the time) saying "hang on i'm feeding / changing / picking up....your brother" and jacob was having to learn to wait a lot, very quickly.
keep us updated on how things go!

not much else to report it's just blardy freezing here!!!

Oh CB! Congratulatons!! Delighted to hear it went so well, and yes he IS gorgeous! Looks so alert already. Well done Mummy!!

Have had a rough few days/nights. Despite Mimi and me both being 'better' we're still not really 100% and she has become CLING queen... she had been waking 6-9 times a night for milk so on Saturday night, despite having guests, after the fourth time I ended it there. No More Milk In A Bottle Ever...

So of course she screamed for several hours, drove us all demented. Same again last night. Dh took over and managed to calm her but I still ended up 'cuddle'-ing her half the night, thinking she'd dropped off, move a hair then WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH...
At one point we were both in there, DH was telling her some story, and she said 'Mammy you can go to your bed now'!! Well, thanks Mimi!! So off I went, for about five minutes then she wanted me again.
I dunno. I thought we were getting somewhere, now it's just fecking hell all over again.

Anyway, enough of me. HC are you better yet? I really hope it doesn't last as long as mine did, although I'm back at work I have no energy and occasionally break into coughing fits which cause the entire building to sneer disapprovingly... oh well.

Well cuppa tea time x

ImpyChica · 24/11/2008 19:46

CONGRATULATIONS CB AND FAMILY!!!!! Really made up for you all. Sam is GORGEOUS, he looks so adorable and the pic of him and Josh together is just the sweetest. Glad to hear it all went well. Hope Josh adjusts ok. I've heard/read that you've kind of got to focus as much attention as poss on the older sibling and just deal with the basics for the younger one - sounds awful, I know. Spin sounds like she had it sussed with the whole sling thing... but maybe that will be difficult after a c/section. I know I struggled with Ry cos of his weight and my scar... hmmm. Don't worry anyway, it's all normal and adjustment periods are to be expected.

Sorry it's all gone pear-shaped again Annie. We had the week from hell last week - Ry has a cough and was up loads in the night with it. We're not used to such frequently interrupted nights and I was at the end of my tether by the weekend. So looking forward to leaving him with his grandparents - how awful am I???!!!

Anyway, hugs to all. It's turned blummin' freezing here in Madrid too, you'll be pleased to hear!

Love Impy xxx

HumphreysCorner · 25/11/2008 10:04

Crikey Annie, don't know how you cope without a semi good night's sleep especially with this shite cold.

Impy-how are the wedding plans going? Cold in Madrid?

Pouring with rain and freezing, just can't get warm ever so have lit the fire and am about to attack the mammoth task of wrapping Christmas Presents. Going to take days methinks.

Hi all! Not long now Rhinestone.

Morning girls

Seems a bit brighter today. I think she only woke about four times, and didn't ask for the bottle until the last time. Just cuddled her back to sleep... four times. No drink at all apart from a little water which she dribbled everywhere, which distressed her!!
But I was able to keep calmer and not shout, so Huge Improvement... Still knackered though.

And I thought we had it good this morning at nursery too, she was happy out to go there and even inside she was fine, until the dreaded words, Mammy has to go to work now... Then she cried, but not as bad as usual...
Anyone else's nursery having a nativity play?? Mimi has to dress in 'A clog costume'. A clog costume?? WTF?? Oh hang on, it's a 'dog costume'. Right. Well that's a bit easier I suppose... ??? Any ideas oh good ladies of creation?!
Joey is to dress in a shepherd's costume, so I guess a tea-towel on his head jobby.

How're you today HC, any better?? You are so organised with your Xmas shopping. I haven't even given it a thought yet. I hate all that. Don't mind organising the babies presents, but the IL's...

Impy, how's Ry's cough? Better I hope. Am of his holiday with the grandparents! Lucky you!!

Right, so, best do some work, since I'm here...

cb - the photos are lovely, sam is so gorgeous hope youre recovering well

spin - sounds like you all had a fab time, it tired me out reading your post though, dont think i could manage any of that thesedays

annie - hope the sleeping improves again soon and well done for not giving in to milk do you really have to make up the costumes yourself? , im not the least artistic and wouldnt have a clue where to start

hc - hows the wrapping going? ive decided im going to be better organised this year and start wrapping early as i hate it and want to spread it out a bit

had lovely snowy weather here at the weekend, charlotte was loving it, all the kids in the street were making snowmen and out with their sledges, all gone now though and not as cold. something about snowy weather makes the days seem lovely and bright rather than the rain that just makes you feel miserable

hi to everyone else

HumphreysCorner · 25/11/2008 19:47

Have been wrapping all day and hardly wrapped anything. Tskes sooooo long to do.

Morning all!!

Congrats CB!!! I am soooo He is just lovely.

Waiting for mindee to arrive so better be quick.

God Spin what are you like?? Not sure i'd be able to stay awake that long lol. I was out with the mums from dd1's nursery on Stturday night. It was much better than i expected and i was not the most drunk person there thankfully!! I did manage a boogie tho.

I am paying for lots and lots ( 6 this week FFS) for ds1 so he will be getting a stocking for Xmas this year. Smellies sweets and maybe an xbox 360 game or whatever. He's having 4 lessons a week in December till his test on the 23rd of December so i am not counting up how much i am actually spending.

Ds2 got one of his xmas presents early this year. Ds1 paid for xbox live for ds2's xmas present and i gave him the wireless network thingy early so they could play it now. So ds2 has only a few presents to open too.

No idea what to get the dd's yet. What are you all getting your lot? Might get some ideas form you all lol.

Getting the Mirena coil fitted on Tuesday and i am shitting myself. I would rather give birth i think. Really hope it regulates my AF,would be even better if it stopped it altogether but would make do with not feeling like i am hemmoraging every 18 days

Mindee arrived so better go. Have a good day all xxx

thefortbuilder · 26/11/2008 14:07

agalch one of the mum's on my post natal thread for ds2 had a mirena coil fitted recently and it fell out

we have got jacob and sam the thomas play table from elc for them together, and then loads of books, and as jacob asked santa for a special digger he's got that. amongst a ridiculously large pile of other stuff for both of them.... and we were supposed to be being restrained this year

they've been filming the bill just down our street. and some of the "stars" were there too! a pg friend of mine thinks that mickey webb is just the best thing (i'm blaming pg hormones!) and was gutted that she was at work today when he was wandering around. how sad are we when the filming of the bill is the highlight around here

anyway, must be off - i too have a pile of gifts to wrap

aGalChangedHerName · 27/11/2008 07:07

Fell out???

Jesus never heard of that before. The doc offered me endometrial ablation but i really didn't fancy that. I can only try it and see eh?

Ds1 has decided that he wants to leave school and is determined to do it right away
He has a meeting with an ex mindees mum on Friday who works for the place who deals with modern apprentiships to see what kind of things they offer. He says he just can't bear to be at school anymore, feels out of place etc. I think he is mentally much older than his peers. DH has told him that he must either have an apprentiship set up or work full time at his current job before he leaves school tho. He does have 4 highers so he hasn't done too badly and he could always do something later on i suppose.

God it's hard,if i am honest i would have liked him to stay on till the end of 6th year but it's his life right??

Sorry for the ramble

Mindee will arrive soon so better go get organised.

Have a good day xx

TheGoddessBlossom · 27/11/2008 10:25

CB Sam is absolutely gorgeous well done CB! Lovely photos , how is he settling in?

Spin you are a rager, very impressed. Bit concerned that if given the choice of an all night at a Carl Cox gig or bed, with a film I'd choose the latter. I am so boring.

Harry is King 1 in his nativity play. I am of course going, instead of to a free piss up in a London hotel, that's dedication for you.

Both boys have horrible coughs poor lambs.

Nursery told me today H is the only boy who says please and thankyou without being reminded. So proud of him. He has had his hair cut and looks so handsome. I'll try and add photos to my profile as Photobox hates me.

Decs HC! Blimey, I cannot get a handle of Xmas at all yet. Work is manic. Had two presentations yesterday, one to my CEO which I have slaved over, went really well thank god.

Right offski.

Bye all.

Lol spin-just about worked out that it is a trampoline.

Neither me or DH ever wanted to go to Uni. I was the only one in my group of friends that didn't go and went on a YTS scheme after 6 weeks in the 6th form-twas awful but luckily got a job in the Bank soon after and the rest is history. So, I suppose I won't be disappointed if neither of the girls want to go.

Hi Ladies, thought I'd stick my head in and say hello , before I forget:

CONGRATULATIONS CEEBEE
Lovely pics of both your boys, Josh looks like a fab big bro. Best wishes for speedy recovey from the c/s.

I'm still on the 'other side', feeling big and tired and can't wait to get that baby out. Also head is starting to engage and getting that 'bowling ball in your arse feeling' if I'm on my feet too long. MW did home visit yesterday to talk about HB, am starting to get a bit excited now... I'll be 37 wks on Sunday.

DS with impeccable timing has decided that he wants to start potty training. He'd started getting fussy about having a nappy on after a change so has been having lots of bare bum time. He did a bit of a wee on the floor on Sunday and we asked him if he wanted the potty - from then on he's been taking himself off to wee when we're at home. Even done a couple of poos . I'm afraid I'm still sticking (mostly cloth) nappies on him when we're out and for sleeps, as I just can't be doing with wet trousers at this stage. I'm so amazed that he has jsut decided that he wants to do it!

Otherwise he is mostly his normal charming self, with the odd nuclear paddy whack thrown in to keep me on my toes. Talking loads and I'm loving the odd conversations we have

Hope all is well with everyone else

thefortbuilder · 27/11/2008 20:18

rhinestone that "bowling ball in your arse" feeling sounds interesting - yet another of those late pg things i never got to experience

re the potty training - you might be lucky and he cracks it quickly if he has decided he is ready by himself. otherwise if you can bear it put him those pull up nappies (not the pull up pants that take about 2 wees and that's it) but the pull up nappies. it might kill 2 birds - you keep him in nappies but he thinks for a bit that they're not quite like nappies??? or it might be a dreadful thing and set him back so you might not want to take any notice of me.

can you tell i've had 2 rather big glasses of wine this evening
