We have booked for Nov next year, 4 of us (free Toby place) all inclusive, 14 nights, flights, transfers, Kid's Den room £2450.00.

aGalChangedHerName · 19/11/2008 13:19

God that's good Bloss.

It's the having 4 dc that makes hols sooo expensive. We tried to book for next April (have to go in school hols because of the ds's) and for 2 weeks it was around £5000 IIRC.

We are probably gonna need £2000 spending money mind you. Have told the dc we wont manage away in 2010 as i would like to get a new kitchen. We have promised the dd's we will take them to Disneyland Paris when they are 8 and 6. It is my idea of hell i have to say!!!

God i need to win the lottery!!!

thefortbuilder · 19/11/2008 17:06

bloss that's great about T

pixel - at your hv - although jacob is doing really well during the day he is so up and down with whether he pees in his nappy at night or not (after a dry start...) that we wouldn't even think of putting that pressure on him at this time.

although he did sleep really well in his big boys bed and hasn't come downstairs for 2 nights in a row now although see it all change now pap is back tonight....

not much else to report here - that wee baby on EE - i got so cross HC with how they handled it, having been through a 32 week birth, ventilators on both babies etc etc etc. of course that makes me an expert

Hi all

Welcome back Bloss. Sounds fab. Just did a tot-up with DP about holiday costs and yours doesn't work out so much since its all-inclusive. We tend to pay in dribs-and-drabs and it actually adds up to a lot... Can't wait to see yer pix.

Good luck for tomorrow CB. So exciting!!! Bet Josh is gonna LOVE his lickle brother!

Don't stress about toilet training Pixel, having had one failed attempt with Ry, I'm in no rush to try it all again. Though he does need to be dry in time for next Sept and starting school!

Just thought I better tell youse all our big news... we've decided to get hitched... gulp! After 15 years of living in sin! All v low-key - going to do it on Dec 23rd when we're back for Xmas - just family and a couple of friends. We wanted to do a civil partnership here in Spain - to have all our legal stuff sorted but it was working out so expensive we decided we'd make the families happy by tying the knot. Anyway - thought some of you might start seeing stuff about it on FB and think "ey up, is our Impy getting hitched then?"! So wanted to give you warning! I bought my dress in my lunch hour the other day - I am so low maintenance!!!

Well, after that shocker, I think I'll get off and pour myself another glass of vino...

Hugs all, Impy xxx

aGalChangedHerName · 19/11/2008 21:08

Oh congrats Impy!!!!

We were together for oh about 18 years and life is better married. Don't know why but it just is.

Sort of belonging to each other if thats not too soppy

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 19/11/2008 21:48

Congrats Impy!!!! How exciting!!! Congrats!!

GOOD LUCK tomorrow CB!! Can't wait to hear about baby Sam's safe arrival.

Welcome back Bloss, sounds like you had a blast - look forward to those pics.

Still coughing and spluttering here - been off work all week. Mimi has it bad too and has been stuck to me for about five days. She's a right PITA one minute, then the next she's choking me to death with a cuddle.
She's a right humdinger to get to bed, though she did sleep very well last night, 8.30pm til 5.30am...
I don't want to say it out loud but I think Joey has finally cracked the toilet training - he's started telling us he needs to go, and I don't think he's had an accident for a few days now. Mimi is also getting really good at telling us she needs to go on the potty, and usually makes it too.
Finally, some light at the end of that very long tunnel...

Well ladies, tomorrow is another day, and we will have a new baby to welcome GOOD LUCK CB!!

Nite all

Big wave!

impy that's great news congratulations so happy for you!

CB am thinking you're probably sitting there ready to go just waiting now. Am thinking of you and getting a soppy little lump in my throat thinking there will soon be another lo around! and with a cool cool name too

not much else to say here - jadob woke at 12 and 330 this morning but stayed in his bed! no falling out and no coming downstairs for 3 nights in a row!!! long may it continue. although it means i have to go up to him and then sam woke at 430 and then 645 so i had a pretty bad sleep all in all! and sam is full of cold as well and coughing really badly, and wingey....

impy - big congrats, so pleased for you both

cb - was hoping to get on yesterday to wish you luck so am a bit late as baby sam will have arrived, cant wait to hear your news

bloss - sounds like you all had a fab time

have decided to give potty training a break, been trying it for 6/7 weeks and only got anything in the potty if we put her on it, was never asking or telling us she needed to go, so thinking she probably wasnt ready, i just wanted her to be ready i think as didnt want to be doing it further into this pg but looks like i'll have no choice, going to try again after xmas.

ImpyChica · 20/11/2008 20:22

Thanks for all the congrats, ladies. And the encouragement - especially from Algach! We're quite happy not being married and there's a part of me that's scared that things will change for the worse when we get hitched. So it's nice to hear from other long-timers who've made the transition successfully! (I know there are lots of you and I'm just being silly really - it's just a piece of paper!)

Oh CB, I hope it's all going well. Sending you lots of positive vibes. Don't try and rush to be up on your feet - remember c-sections take a long time to get over. I rushed after mine and took longer to properly recover as a result...

Hope you're feeling better Annie and HC. Poor old things... (I've probably said this before HC - but have you tried an elimination diet - cutting out major allergens like gluten, dairy etc? - you seem to get ill so much and suffer with your migraines, I really feel for you...)

Enjoy your clubbing Spin! Man I miss those days...!

We're off back to the UK next week as we have to prove residencey for 8 days prior to getting the marriage licence - how ridiculous!!! We lived there for 26 years, paid taxes bla bla bla! Anyway - we've decided to leave Ry there with DP's parents for the 10 days that we have back in Madrid prior to Xmas (and the wedding). So we're going to have a pre-wedding party at our flat in Madrid on the weekend in mid-December that we're back here - can't wait to revisit old carefree days!! Though I know I'm gonna miss Ryan loads... (though he has been such a PITA recently that I think I'll be able to live without him for a few days !)

Anyway, hugs to all, Impy xxx

Ceebee ? hope all went well and that you?re taking it easy, big hugs to you xxx

Impy ? wow congrats!!! How lovely, a Christmas wedding. That?s more or less how we did it (nearly a year ago now, blimey) and despite my reservations about having a ?wedding? (couldn?t be arsed with the fuss ), being ?married? has been really nice, can definitely recommend it too!

Bloss ? nice to have you back, glad the holiday went well, sounds fab ? yes holiday pics please!

Spin ? hurrah for the clubbing, show ?em how to do it Fab that Chili?s doing so well now, what a relief. Bless Roshi and her squatting, sounds like she?s doing v well too.

Annie ? yay for Joey (and Mimi) and the toilet training And sending a big ?begone, vile lurgies ? your way?

HC ? boo to the snot, hope you?re feeling better today

Flick ? hope wee Sam?s better soon, nothing like lack of sleep and whinging to drive you up the wall is there? Good boy Jacob though, sounds like he?s cracking night-times.

Hi Agalch, Beadmum and everyone

Thanks for all the feedback on the potty training girls, ? to be fair I can?t actually remember if the HV said that it MUST be this month (though she might have done). She was more a proponent of waiting till they were at least 2.4 then trying to crack it within a week by going cold turkey on nappies, I think. Anyways? am going to wait a bit longer. Emma doesn?t seem the slightest bit bothered by either wearing the nappies nor having them changed at the mo, so it?s easier all round.

Am being driven potty (ha ha) though by eating habits ? she?s vv fussy about what she will eat at mealtimes (sometimes hardly anything). Then spends literally hours between meals whining for biscuits, cakes and apples. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! [bad tempered mummy] Might have to crack open the wine soon?! xxx

HumphreysCorner · 21/11/2008 17:48

Pixel-Sophie is quite happy to help put a nappy on rather than go without. Am waiting too until the Spring. Enjoy the wine.

Annie-do you still feel rough? Seem to have taken a slight turn for the worse today.

Did manage to make a Christmas Cake and puddings at mum and dad's this morning. Am a tad miffed as we did Delia's but wanted to do as UCM did with 4 oz of SR flour and 4 oz of plain flour as opposed to 8 oz of plain but totally forgot and did the 8 oz plain as per Delia's recipe. Ho, hum-will test this next year. Cake has come out well, slightly burnt as Delia states 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 hours to cook and we did 2 1/2 which was a tad too long. Once it is marzipanned and iced am sure it will be just fine.

Must go as whiney children.

pixel jacob had a piece of toast this morning and then chipolatas for lunch and dinner - not a veg in sight [bad mummy emoticon], although he did have 2 bananas and a smoothie through the day, and a load of OJ.....

i wouldn't say cracking night times as he is still waking but at least staying upstairs

Ooh, good luck to your SIL spin.

Snowing here in Lincs but too wet to settle. Am meeting DH from work at lunch time to look at artificial Christmas trees. It was on the news this year that Nordman Fir real trees are going to be so expensive this year that they are cutting them smaller to keep the price down. Don't want to pay £30 for a piddling little tree so going to invest in an artificial one for the conservatory.

Am blitzing the lounge and putting all the toys into their bedrooms as Santa has no room at present to leave any new presents. Better go as Emma is hyper this morning and hasn't stopped screeching at the top of her voice and my head hurts and I need to leave in an hour!

Have a good weekend ladies.

Evening ladies

At last I can update you! Samuel Jake was born on Thursday at 10.10am weighing 9lb 4oz

There are a couple of photos on my profile for you to have a look at! Sam is gorgeous and the spitting image of Josh at birth although they look like chalk and cheese now

He is such a calm contented baby who has rarely cried (only really cries when he is having his nappy/clothes changed), sleeps most of the time and is just so placid!

Josh, otoh, is having problems adjusting - he has turned into 'nightmare' child with constant whinging, tantrumming and just generally being hard work. Fortunately he is very gentle with Sam but is obviously struggling with everything else - me and DH are trying to be as understanding as we can but it is such hard work - particularly with the pain and tiredness!! Any tips?

Beadmum · 23/11/2008 21:39
